My epic has an app that is called keytracer.apk, does anyone know exactly what is does? I'm tempted to remove it, but I don't want to brick my phone.
Before anyone flips out- yes I visited the epic wiki on this forum, and went to apps safe to remove link. the thread publisher doesn't know what it does, so I'm hoping someone else might.
By the way I'm running froyo on a rooted Epic 4g.
Thanks, CB.
Umm idk it doesn't sound very good... I'd delete it it won't brick your phone back it up first

"Traces Keys" - but aside from a smart ass answer, I think it has to do with MultiTouch.
Keytracer.apk
This logs actions completed on your phone to be referenced in case of any catastrophic software errors on the user part. In my experience it made my phone a bit smoother when deleted. Its been on all my Samsung phones but not on any others that I recall, so it may be brand-specific.
Are u using swype keyboard. I believe so u cud c the traces of the keys ur swiping.

Keep the software keyboard on screen while the hardware keyboard ls slid out? Ive asked this before, and i was told 2 things.
1: That android is supposed to do this with a long press of the menu key anywhere.
2: Smart Keyboard could do it.
Tried both, neither work. Help please.

I don't have an answer for you, but I am curious about why you need two keyboards at the same time.
No particular reason. I just really would like to do this.

Hi i have just managed to get hold of a Galaxy Nexus however one of my key apps to get to work Arriva has its text all misaligned is there any chance someone could fix the issue for me, otherwise I will have to go back to another android phone. I can provide pics and titanium backups of the app, if anyone could help.
It's an issue that the app developer should address. Contact them.

I know but its a very old app, could i possibly get a kind soul to help fix the issue or at least get some info on how to do it myself, its kinda vital i get this apps text to center as i can still see if its just kinda all sqwashed to the left.
Hmm I'm not sure if anyone can do anything about it without access to that app's source code. All I know us that the problem is caused by a different way ICS passes the screen resolution to the app to older versions of Android. I've got it with a lot of apps too. Well, good luck!

you will have to get in touch with the developer of the application and get them to update it for Android 4.0
considering it is Arriva, my guess is you're going to be ****e out of luck
Anyone check this app? It recently got updated

Yea actually worthy of use now that he removed the on screen buttons.
I do have to say it is quite laggy though.
Definitely has some bugs to work out for sure

whatever you do don't try this on our phones, the lag is so bad the epic feels like a Samsung moment trying to run ICS for real. I actually lost my whole rom cause after a reboot it would not even allow me to get past the lock screen. Had to format system and reinstall fresh, then I tried it on a fresh install to see if it had just been a conflict with something else and once again I had to rinse and repeat... it may work well on other phones but does not play nice with E4GT.

Did u have it set to default before u rebooted? Cause I've noticed on this phone if you change launchers and then reboot without setting it to default the phone won't go past the lockscreen.

I was reading the thread for this launcher and it was a flame war. It scared me from trying it...lol. If some people report positive results then I may give it a shot

Hello, I've searched but cant seem to find the answer to this question anywhere so I'm hoping someone might know the answer here. Im running basically stock but rooted ICS ff18. I used a app called no bloat that's a apk freezer to lean down some of the sprint bloat and what not. I used a list from here and also looked at other custom rom's on what apk's could be safely frozen removed ect.. Today when I went to try and use a programming code from the dial pad it wouldn't work no error or anything it would just go blank. So my question is does anyone know what apk I might have frozen to prevent dialer codes from working?
I went through them all but don't see anything that looks like it might have anything to do with that. If anyone knows I would greatly appreciate it and hopefully this is in the right forum. Thanks all
You're prolly missing one of the system apks that opens it. I can't remember what its called, maybe hiddenmenu, but ive had the same thing happen to me

Has anyone found any official word about this?? I've found several posts on sprints forums about it but no, sprint employees for this topic refuse to respond to the issue. So as I asked, has anyone seen official word? Factory resets of all forms does nothing, so does doing all updates. I first had this issue after the over the air update for the previous update before jellybean and Samsung claimed it would be fixed in the jellybean update and it still hasn't. And I do realize only Some users have this issue.
Any official word on it or any solutions to fix it would be nice that don't require root.

I would expect it to be fixed when most Samsung bugs get fixed. When you're finally fed up enough to root and find your own fix.
I wouldnt hold my breath. I'd switch to a preferred 3rd party keyboard. Swiftkey 3 is mine.
I have been on SwiftKey but it's just not the same... I miss my Samsung keyboard =/ and I've bee debating lately to root. Mind getting me a tutorial? This time I want to do a nandroid back up of my current system before hand. Like is it possible before root or what
You have been asking about autocorrect for like 4 months and I understand you. But let it go and move to another keyboard.
Had you tried using a backup of the latest keyboard version that worked for you?
EDIT(i dont read you was not rooted) forget about the old version.

Well sadly ya. I know I could fix it If I could somehow downgrade my phone to 2 updates ago when it broke and then re upgrade to this version with the working keyboard. It happened before the last update and persisted through to jb so ya

In the event u take the plunge here's the quickest method with no other changes. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36166470&postcount=2 u will need a custom recovery to backup although its not really nessessary. You can get cwm with ROM manager or twrp with goo manager. ignore the step talking about the tether app. Unless u were lookin to do that too
i'm using SWIPE on mine, stock. I had touchpal pro, then rebooted the phone and it's real SWYPE, not the samsung keyboard.. ODD, but whatever. I like it
