i have installed a custom rom "Android Revolution HD 3.0"
i followed these steps
1.installed visionary+ and pressed temproot-->ticked "run visionary.sh after root" and "set system r/w after root"-->applied permanent root
2. then verified root by typing "su" in terminal emulator and got "#" symbol in next line and also "terminal user has been granted super user permission"
3.next did Radio S-OFF using "Desire HD easy radio tool.exe"
4.next did ENG S-OFF using "Desire HD easy s-off.exe"
5.now i tested for radio s-off and eng s-off
6.Power Down Your Device
7. Go to Bootloader
8.says Ace PVT ENG S-OFF
9. check CID for CID-11111111
10.next flashed "Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF" radio.img using cmd and ii is succesfull
11. next flashed rom using full-wipe-1.3 and "Android Revolution HD 3.0" rom using clockworkmod rom recovery
12.and every thing is fine and worked well for two days
but after that my phone speaker has stopped working so i took my phone to htc service center.there they checked system info and they said i cannot claim warranty because its not stock firmware
he said only if i get back the stock firmware then only he will sent my mobile for htc company for replacement or repair
please guide me to revert back to custom firmware
i have not did any backup because in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11801358&postcount=20) i found some one uploaded the stock firmware nandroid back due to request of some one
i thought i could use that and downloaded that .zip file
now i tried to restore from that backup by placing .zip in sd card and booting in cwm costom recovery and selected install from zip from sdcard and selected the zip
installation started and then in 2 sec i can see "installation aborted".
so some one please help me to go back to stock firmware so i can claim my warranty.its been only 2 weeks i have bought
some one please help me

First, go to Settings>About phone>Software information and post the software version we can see if you're on something that can be unrooted...

I have the same hboot as you 093, and i root my phone with unrevoked 3.2 method, and i'm realy pleased now and happy. Just goole unrevoked, you will find it on the unlockr site. Just folow the steps there, will be a bit triky with the drivers for the computer....you will see some discutions on the forums. Folow the steps acurate... and with this method you cant brick your phone....Good luck

Problems on rooting my DHD - Please HELP

Hello,
I finally decided to post this thread and ask for your help. I've been an iPhone user since the original iPhone....but now I made the switch, I've got myself a DHD and I would really want to root it, and flash some roms onto it.
Here's my problem, I tried downgrading, but after DHD finished extracting the PD98IMG it said that the original ROM is older.
Here are all the details of my DHD:
Android Version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense Version: 2.1
Baseband Version: 12.54.60.25U_26.09.04.11_M2
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.10-g0956377
[email protected] #1
Build Number 2.36.405.8 CL47853 realease-keys
Software Version: 2.36.405.8
Browser Version: WebKit/533.1
Please help me.
What should I do? Do I need to downgrade, can I?
You will need to downgrade your Baseband from 2.3.3 by using the following link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
All the other Info you need is in the below link...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936214
I was lucky not needing to downgrade, but I am on my second Android Revolution Rom and very pleased
First of all, everything went fine. I am not rooted, I have my custom rom and full wipe on SD not extracted of course.
Installed the Rom Manager, flashed the clockwork recovery...but doesn't matter what I do it won't enter into recovery.
Even bought the droid bootstrap, tried it manually and still the same.....the triangle and ! shows every time.
Please help me...what should I do? what is it that I'm doing wrong?

The red triangle is stock recovery for whatever reason rom manager has failed to flash clockwork recovery, reboot into bootloader and manually flash the recovery from there as per usage here
Doh! would help if i read everything, you cannot flash recovery without S-OFF, therefore you need to root first and then flash H-boot then recovery and custom rom

You say your not Rooted..
I think you will have to be Rooted to use the ClockworkMod and Droid Bootstrap..
Link to Rooting here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537..
Make sure your Baseband is below 1.72 as in instruction..
Sorry, I meant I am now rooted

Having root on your DHD is not enough to flash custom recovery. You need to do S-Off before you can install Clockworkmod recovery from Rom Manager.
This is a very nice guide from Jkoljo about S-Off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
However, this won't be enough if you want to Flash a Radio (aka Baseband) which I think you will want to consider once you start flashing custom roms. This process is called Eng-Off which is more risky than S-Off. You can find a link in the above mentioned guide for more reading if you like.
very helpful. im still new to this. i had many of the same problems

eminbestek, just flash the RUU u used to downgrade and then once u are done, just re run the kit. you won´t be able to flash and insecure image with S-ON.

when u ran the kit, it downloaded a file called PD98IMG-GBx.zip (where x is a number). That file should be in the PD98IMG folder of the Hack kit. Rename that file PD98IMG.zip (case sensitive and make sure that you don´t double the extension, such as .zip.zip) and put it in the root of the sdcard. Then, boot in hboot (power + volume down) and let it prompt you for update. Just press volume up to update and let it finish. Once it is done, you should have a working phone again...
SD Checking:
Loading PD98DIAG.zip..
No image found
Loading PD98DIAG.nbh
No image or wrong image
Loading PD98IMG.zip..
-----------------------
Cheking.. [PD98IMG.zip]
Than it says;
Main Version is older!
Update Fail!
Press <POWER> to reboot.
What could be wrong? I've tried the process several times, deleted and recopied the PD98IMG.zip file, but it doesn't change anything.

[Q] HTC WF S : can't use recovery to change ROM. Plse help.

Hi,
I've spent the whole day trying to install a new ROM on my wildfire s.
I'm able to unlock (and relock) the phone, and was using this post as a guide to install the new rom :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633198
I've put the zip file on the SD card, and in hboot, it's scans for PG76IMG.zip. It checks and parses PG76IMG.zip. But then there is only the usual
options. When I select recovery, I get a black screen with red triagle and exclamation mark.
I've also tried upgrading the ROM with the HTC RUU, described in the HTC website to unlock the phone (step 1).
But my phone doesn't accept the EU ROM. (I need to upgrade the software over wifi first using 'check now'). But there's no update available.
Tried several guides but none worked. Can anybody help?
some details :
- android 2.3.5 (htc 2.1, softwarenr 2.26.401.3)
- unlocked
- hboot 1.09.0099
Thanks!
Thomas.

Open command on ur pc and type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
This would install cwm recovery on ur wfs and then u can flash roms .

[Q] Trying & Failing to root HTC Desire HD! Please Help

Hi Everybody
I found this guide to root the HTC Desire HD.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039
Started of with Hboot: went all the way through to click next to start and i get ERR[191]: Rom not supported.
checked my hboot version got this:
*** LOCKED (OOW) ***
ACE PVT SHOP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0029
MICROP-4038
RADIO-26.14.04.28_M
eMMC-boot
DEC 22 2011.14.28.19
I have rom version: 3.12.405.1
any ideas why i cant get past err191 ?
You've already got the updated hboot hence why its says 2.xxx.029 and also says locked. The word locked should have been abvious if you read that guide...
Ok so now you need to unlock your boot loader. You need to goto htcdev and follow the steps for getting unlock token then follow the steps that will be sent to the email address you signed up with.
Next flash custom recovery, I recommend only 4ext.
Then either flash super user zip found somewhere on xda (search)
Or flash custom rom in 4ext then flash boot.img found inside custom rom zip file.
Instructions for those steps are here on dhd forums just go find them.

Tried HTC Bootloader but that didnt' work so tried the AAHK2 and after a downgrade it rooted it.
Now I assume that if I want ICS on the DHD I simply download the ROM and slap it on the SDCard the hboot to install it?

Well putting the ROM file on the SD card is correct but you'll need a custom recovery to install it.
