I just came from an HTC diamond, with wm 6.1 that while old, had excellent voice dialing and caller announce features over bluetooth. I waited to go android because this is essential to me as I wear my headset for about half the day.
Now my Telus desire HD with froyo has some crappy 'cyberon' voice commander built into it (can't be uninstalled) and the android bluetooth dialer is nowhere to be found? Not only is it more clunky and inaccurate for dialing, but there is no announce feature for incoming calls. I tried Vlingo and it's even worse.
So, if I root this thing and install HD Revolution or something, will that give me the default bluetooth dailer?? If I do that will that give me callerid announce for incoming calls? Is there anything else I can do short of returning this device for a *shudder* windows 7 phone?
Anyone please?? I only have 10 more days to get this working before I can't return the phone any more.

WM6 Voice Command 1.6
Voice Command is a very powerful program that will allow you to control your WM6 Excalibur with your voice.
Hands-free phone
Dial your phone by voice using the phone number
Contact lookup
View contacts with a voice command
Have the subject, time, and location of upcoming appointments read to you
Media player
Program starter
Device Status
Enable Voice Command
Start > Voice Command
Voice Enabled > Yes
Announcement Routing > Bluetooth if Available
This setting will allow Voice Command to use the Excalibur phone speaker to respond to vocal commands, if you don't have a bluetooth headset connected.
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the soft reset, press and hold the home key. This is the default Record Application Button which activates Voice Command. When you hear the beep say, "Help". Voice command will then guide you through the available voice commands.
IMPORTANT: Do not talk directly into the microphone. Hold the phone 4 inches/100mm from your voice. The response from Voice Command will take a few seconds.
A Voice Command tutorial from Microsoft is here.
Enable Voice Command with a Bluetooth Headset
With the current beta release of WM6, you need to modify the following registry settings to use your bluetooth headset with this feature.
NOTE: Your Excalibur has to be application unlocked to make modifications to the registry.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\BTA GExtModule
The string value needs to be changed from "OEMAGW.dll" to "\Windows\vcbthag.dll".
IMPORTANT: Soft Reset to enable the changes to Voice Command
After the phone reboots, your bluetooth headset will now be able to use Voice Command by pressing the button on your headset. Wait for the beep, then speak the command.
Viel Spaß mit Voice Command,

Most of time, Voice Command works fine, but those times it doesn't more than make up for the times that it does
Great job with this, it's working pretty good for me with my BT headset. Very nice!!!!

I tried voice command 1.6 did not like it and now my dash has no add voice tag feature. How do I get it back?

Try a hard reset. That should restore it to factory settings. You'll have to input your ActiveSync settings again and install any other apps you want.
I agree. I have VC1.6 on my WM6 and I am really dissapointed with my experience. I watched that very detailed video tour of the program before it was released and it made it seem like it cooked dinner, shoveled the snow, and aced all my exams. However, I find myself constantly arguing with the stupid lady voice about her being deaf, not being able to pronounce/recognize the right way my friends are called, and just being plain dumb. I thought it would be really useful while driving, but 80% of the time I give up and press the keys away to get what I want.
No thanks!
I Love Miss Botron's Voice, Works like a Charm!
To jromney: well said, thanks guy, it works like a charm on my Dash! Now I love VC, like you said, it a powerful application. I have Miss. Botron's voice volume turned up to the max. The Girl is alright with me!(lol) We talk all the time!(lol) By the way jromney, you got the best VC bluetooth headset fix on the planet, so easy a caveman can do it! (lol) Works perfect with my Plantronics 590A bluetooth headset!
Nice Software + voice speed dial
For those of you that have problems dialing strange non English names I fod a good way of dialing. In my HTC p3300 I have a software called Voice speed dial. With it I can make a voice tags forall my contacts. Then on my BT a2dp I press the utton for voice dialing, then I say "Start Voice Speed Dial" then it turnes on the voice speed dial and I say the name "name" and then the voice speed dial recognizes it on the spot.
I works very nice.
Would anyone like to share the file for voice command or split the cost on the purchase from handango. I do miss that feature of having messages read aloud and commanding programs via voice.
???
i am pretty new to the whole voice command thing and i know that it CAN read my text message out loud, i just don't know HOW to make it happen, please help me
thanks in advance
Sick of Microsoft voice commander 1.6 problems on wm6??
Try this great alternative "Vito Voice2Go v1.51"
Just search it in ed2k or p2p search engine by:" Vito Technology Vito Voice2Go v1.51 Xscale Wm2003 Wm5 Wm6 Cracked-Sympda.zip"
Don’t forget to disable the "mwc 1.6" if you installed it earlier
And make sure you change the voice command button to "voice2go" program
Didn’t try it yet with Bluetooth headset
All the best Miteranix

I just upgraded my Dash with the new WM6 ROM and the Voice Command does not announce incoming calls. It does announce incoming messages. When I had the T-mobile WM6 installed, it was working fine.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

Not sure why you are not getting announcements, but Voice Command is in the T-Mobile WM6 ROM and doesn't need to be installed. Your phone was probably using the ROM version at the time.
I know the T-mobile rom has it and it works fine but it does not work with the new htc wm6 rom. Messages are announced but not the calls.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Yes, I have the same problem with the O2 WM6 ROM (xda Orbit) and Voice Command 1.6. (Voice Command is not included in this ROM). Messages are announced, calls not. It seems a generally problem. Many users in the ppc-welt forum report this issue with voice command and WM6.
I have the same problem with a s621 running WM6. I believe it is a pretty well know bug.
Voice Command announce Call fix?
Has anyone found a fix for the WM6 bug that prevents Voice Command 1.6 from announcing incoming calls over device or bluetooth. Microsoft seems clueless--even though the issue has been around for months. The T-Mobile WM6 ROM includes Voice Command, fixed it, and it announces calls over BT, so it can be done. But Voice Command installed on the HTC and Rogers ROMS (not included in the ROMS) just won't announce calls.
I really miss not having to fumble for the phone to see who is calling.

Yes, I can confirm build 19209 does NOT announce incoming calls. Has anyone tried a diff build that works?
Hi, did you check the relevant boxes (i.e. "phone" in the voice command settings to voice enable them?
On another note, does version 1.621725 support voice dialing and voice activation of apps? Somehow I'm not able to map a button to activate voice command's listening function. Any ideas?

yes and yes.
settings->buttons Button 1 (Hold) -> Voice Command.
has anyone ever tried 1.6.21728 or 1.6.21812?
With my TyTn2, I remember certain ROMs would not work with certain builds of VC. So maybe we can list here the TP2 ROMs and VC builds that we've tried and failed so others can pick up until finally someone gets a combination that's 100% working.
I'll start:
ROM: 1.19.707.2 (51489) WWE, VC 1.6.19209 = no incoming call announcement
I'll continue
ROM 1.19.401.0
MSVC 1.6.19209
I installed a newer version of Voice Command (1.6.21725) and did this little reg change:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3735744&postcount=14
I think it should work with 1.6.19209
Now I have incoming call anouncement (quite loud). BUT the ringer is very soft and the announcement stops after 3 times WITH the ringer very soft. So, you may miss a call.
Anyone knows how to shut off the incoming call announce DURING a call? It is very annoying if you have call waiting and talking to someone and someone else calls you. VC would announce the caller and you can't hear the person you're talking with.
Ok. Here is one for you all. I have gone in and checked everything that applies under msvc properly. My incoming calls are announced, as well as e-mails. It will not, however, announce sms!? Anyone else have this problem? I am running Valkyrie Firestorm 4.8.23506 ROM...also msvc 1.6.19214
Any help would be appreciated.
This is all due to the new Broadcom BT drivers in recent WM6.5 builds. They are much better drivers than the old ones. There is nothing you can do to fix this. MS will need to update VC for a resolution, but since they are planning on replacing it I wouldn't hold my breath.
This is really bugging me, I am used to having VC announce calls on my Diamond. Check out post 82 at this thread:
forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=41645&page=9[/url]
It seems as though the original Pro was having the same problem in the beginning. The fix kind of worked for me. This is the last thing I need to make my phone perfect
Hi,
So I compiled all the MS voice command fixes into a thread.
And out came the MS Voice command config app. The mortscript app will back up your current settings and allow you to update them.
If you want to test any of the features posted there that are not in the release version, let me know and i will send you an update to test.
The MS Voice Command Config app.
Hello,
Probably a lot of person is trying to have microsoft voice command working with cooked ROM.
I am using eneryROM and I can t make it work.
I was wondering if theire is other application that do the same as VC ?
The primary feature I am using is
Announce who is calling on my bluetooth headset
email and sms voice on the bluetooth.
Does someone know a similar application ?( or even better have a way to make VC work with my HTC TOUCH PRO2 )
This is a relatively small problem but it's driving me bonkers! So I have the Note II, rooted and equipped with SkyNote 9.0 Rom (Jellybean 4.1.2 - love it by the way!) and recently got the LG HBS-730 bluetooth headset. The story is that I can press the call button on the headset and it does a voice dial as specified in the manual.
The problem is I would like to strictly use Google Now for voice dialing and I have set up the necessary options to do so, but when I tried to deactivate the native voice dialer, I couldn't because I can't find the app. The application manager has no trace of a voice dialer. I have also looked in my folders as best I can to locate it but I can't. Does anyone have a clue where the native voice dialer is so I can shut it off or delete it?
Thanks!
