Flashing a new radio? ClockworkMod? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so I'm on a stock Incredible but I think I'm ready to root and put CM 7 on it. My questions are do I have to flash a new radio in order to flash CM 7? Is ClockworkMod installed when I root or do I have to install it separately? And when and how do I perform a nandroid back up? Idk if this is the place to ask these questions but I would appreciate it if some one can answer them, thanks.

U do not need new radio. There is a thread that answers all ur questions. Check stickies! Inc development stickies.

How do I go back to stock?

I have a quick question.
So I had a fully updated EVO and then I used UnrEVOked to root my EVO. Then I started flashing custom ROM's. Well now I want to go back to stock. How do I go about doing this?
I have tried the one guide that is in this forum but I didn't do a nandroid backup.
Thank you in advance.

i dont mean to be mean at all thats not my nature BUT this should be in Q&A and this has been answered 10000 times 1 u run a stock ruu 2 you search on XDA you will find the answer MOD move this thread
I think I got it back to stock. Sorry to be a bother.

Unroot?

How would I go about unrootong from cm6 to stock? Also what about the radios? What radio to use with what ruu? I used the easy root method and I then went back to the start over stock 1.47. Thanks

wrong forum, post in Q&A
I would like to know this too, despite the forum police.

Then do a little search. There's about 5 threads on how to do it. In this forum and in Q&A.
There is not a specific thread about how to unroot from clockwork. I have read everything from just accepting the update to running all three ruu exe files. I am tired of all of the stupid wrong forum and search posts. More people with power trips than wanting to help....

THIS
It was only a few threads down from this one. Secondly, if you think Clockwork is the issue, why not just flash AR Recovery then try to unroot? Before you ask how to flash AR recovery, please do a search... That's how I did it.

Thanks for the reply. I know how to flash AR. I also have the ROM Manager, so I can switch between the two recoveries. I am just concerned that I will be leaving something irreversible on the EVO if I simply run the RUU. Ideally, I would like to completely remove all traces of root, if that is even possible. With Froyo with Sense dropping today, I don't see any reason for keeping root other than wireless tether, which I can live without.

Questions go in Q&A; development of new software, roms, fixes, hacks, go in Development.

except until early releases of Android 3.0 come out then you will want to re-root. You know you could just wait until a rooted Stock Froyo Rom is out (probably shortly after stock is released).

[Q] Help to upgrade to froyo 2.2

Hello all,
Right now i am on 2.1 on my Defy and would like to upgrade to. 2.2 froyo. I am running on tenfars recovery, and i am already rooted, im just not sure how exactly to get 2.2 and i have read all the different ways to do it and its just confusing to me. Plus i still read that there are some bugs still with the camera, flash and market. can someone please throw me in the right direction as to how to do this? Im from Puerto Rico but have US TMo service.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks!!
you have 2 choices
1. you can upgrade using the official 2.2 SBF and customise it yourself
2. use tenfars recovery to flash one of the many backups on this forum. which have already been modified for the better. such as removing the Chinese stuff
Please don't ask questions here. This is the development forum. Let's keep things clean and clear
Jmitch thanx!
And im sorry for asking, but i just needed help. Where would i ask this question.

First flash 2.2 sbf through rsdlite?
Then copy rom on sdcard?
Can i use tenfars recovery or do i need clockworkmod?
Do i need to root again?

[Q] Ready for new rom, install using odin, CW. etc?

ok, there used to be a nice how-to, can't find that one anymore but here is the status.
Device is rooted, and I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1274337. I booted into ODIN and see the device.
I am looking at blazers ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363071) as it seems the newest.
I am coming from an EVO, CWM, did everything that way, but this is all new. The older post had CWM mod as the loader, but not sure what is the preferred (is it more user) method of installing ROM's. The other problem is blazers thread says to follow the install instructions, but there are none and I am an ODIN noob.
So, is it a simple click PIT, point at the zip and go? I am also concerned since with CWM I could do a full backup 1st, etc. where as I said, this is all new.
Feel like a damn noob again
Thanks.
Once you have cm installed you just flash roms that way now just like you did on your evo its that easy

ok, well that's what I was hoping for, so now I will search for installing CWM since the thread (thought it was sticikied) was not on top, but at least that was the good news I was hoping for.
If u loom in the dev section there is a sticky on how to root without Odin and it will install cm for u. Look for that one its at the top and then u should be good to go. If u need more help just let me know I can help u out. I would post the link but I'm my touchpad

The thread ewalk is referring to is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342728
All thanks to sfhub for making it so easy. I personally have tried avoiding Odin as much as possible as there are many threads of people screwing up their phones by not being careful with Odin...
HA, that's the page I remember. Was having a problem eariler but that was due to the exploit was only for the EK31, I have the E02.
When I saw that old skool DOS screen I knew it was good, not to mention the screenshot showed the EK02 kernel
So with that, I did install that version, flashed it and BAM, got my CW5. Man what a site for sore eyes ... with that I am doing a FULL backup now and downloading a ROM to play with.
Thanks to everyone with this thread. Looking forward to the next good questions

[Q] complete stock everything please?

first of all, im going to go ahead and say sorry if i am re-posting a thread that has been started....
but i have been through about 20 threads about going back to stock and i keep bouncing around it seems like.. seeing some stuff is out of date, some people are having issues. and its late and my brain is just gettin cluttered and confused.
i need to get back to stock rom, kernel, recovery, modem and unroot, everything by tomorrow.
could someone please give me the proper up-to-date links to help me out?
i keep seeing 'KL1' and 'KD1' (i think KD1) im not sure which mine is... and it dosnt say in 'About Phone'
i currently have CMW and ICS perfection flashed with blaze modem. pretty sure i have skyrocket kernel as well as per the ICS rom. binary download says 'Download: NO"
thanks a lot for any help!!
here's a guide in dev section, I checked to make sure the links work

First go into clockwork and wipe data, cache, and dalvic.
Then flash the stock kernel and then flash this:
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyS2TMobile/unroot/SGH-T989-UnRoot_ROM_Zedomax.zip
And here's the stock kernel
http://db.tt/h6Bq5cdM
Make sure you flash stock kernel first because after you flash the other zip you will no longer have clockwork recovery you will have the stock recovery. I have done this on two different phones i had to return to tmobile
