Does this battery work for our phone? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-1750mA...ch/dp/B002USD0GQ?dropdown-selection=qpjppxint
was looking at this and would like to pick it up, but not if it will not work for the dinc
also, is it worth it? I get about 4 -5 hours of life (when I am not using my phone) if I am talking I get about 2 hours from a 100% charged battery.
its really getting frustrating, to the point where I was actually checking to see how much an iphone would cost
I know I feel awful even typing that!

If your battery life is that low I would think that your problems likely lie somewhere other than your battery.
What is using all the juice? Have a look at juice defender perhaps?

display and phone calls make up the most, everything else is like 2% at most
voice calls 45%
display 40%
i have display set on 11% most of the time, only raise it when i cant see the screen like outside or something

So did you get the battery off eBay? Wondering how it is working out.

Is that 4-5 hours of standby? That seems crazy low. Im on a (nearly year old) stock battery, 4:41 off the charger, 2:00 awake time, largely surfing with maybe 20 minutes on the phone and at 61% battery, and I only charged to 91% to begin with. My screen usage and phone calls both account for 5% of battery usage. And I don't feel this is particularly fantastic battery life.

well periodic use over the 4-5 hours, random text or 2 minute phone call
but usually i get off work at 5 and by 9 it is down to like 5% battery and its fully charged when i leave work
the battery off amazon is working better, I would say I get nearly double the life that I got out of the stock battery
(8 hours instead of 4)

4-5 hrs is not normal. I am glad the higher capacity battery is working for you but there is something deeper going on with your phone.
Have you done a clean install recently? Sounds like something is draining your battery in the background.

Just wondering if anyone out there with this phone actually does not have the AOS (Android Operating System) "Bug" ?

The wonky touch screen is due to the "cube" charger that came with the phone. I bought a cheap Samsung wall charger and it charges just fine now.
My Android OS usage is remarkably low, actually. Lower than any Android I've owned before. I can last a bit over 24 hours on battery with mild use.
I do. I use to worry about it, now I don't really care because I can still get 15 hours on my battery.
I didn't have it for the first few days but I do now. The thing is with moderate use I still pull over 18+ hours on my phone even with AOS being the top on usage. While I dislike this the battery life I'm getting I really can not complain to much. First phone I can leave in the morning without having to worry about bringing my charger with me while I'm in classes cause my phone will be close to dying by the time I leave.

AOS is usually the 2nd highest thing (below the display) on my usage list, but I'm able to last 24 hours on a charge, so I don't consider it a problem.
Remember the usage stats are out of 100%, so even if the AOS uses little to no power, if it is the only thing drawing power it's going to be high on the list.

Are most of you guys stock?
If not did rooting and rom change anything regarding AOS?
I exchanged today...seems it has the same extremely high AOS as the last.
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
My AOS % is usually/often #1 or #2 on the list in the 30% plus range -- even when I use other apps heavily that would generally be near the top. Even with that, though, I can easily use the phone for two days if I use it lightly. I barely used the phone yesterday as I just made a couple of calls and sent a handful of texts/emails. After 18 hours, I was still around 60% battery remaining. I could have simply used the phone again today without charging and it certainly would have made it through the day.
I don't think AOS is being reported accurately, but that's my .02. If it really WAS using that much power, my phone would have been toast in just a few hours.

Never had a problem with it, my battery life is outstanding. 24h on average standby maybe 9-14h moderate use and 7-9h of heavy use.

I have to charge it twice a day, and my use is for only couple of hours talking and few browsing.

I can drain a battery in 6 hours or less. I can't make it through a 8 hour work day without charging it. I guess you guys that go 12+ hours on a charge aren't power users. I tried every rom and kernel and my results are exactly the same.
Maybe the people who are complaining about battery life came from a flip phone or a blackberry. As far as smartphones go, this is the best you'll find for the features and enormous screen we have. Don't believe me then get an Amaze, Sensation, myTouch 4g Slide or G2x.

I'm a heavy user literally all I do is watch 1080p movies and plays games on my phone. I get twelve to fourteen hours every day. I also get at least a text every fifteen minutes if not more. Why don't you try adding another core to your G2 and see if you can even get 6+ hours!!!
Cmon man, this is a dual core phone...it's just common sense that it will use twice as much battery power to get it to run smoothly.
But honestly, I was able to get 21hrs out of a full charge. With heavy use but i had it UC'd @ 1.2max and 192min. Still ran pretty smooth tho.
I get about 18 to 20 hours from a full charge. Stock. Non-rooted, and no modifications of any kind. I have all my apps auto-sync every 4 hours, and my usual display "on time" is around 4 to 5 hours. Here are some screen shots. This is the best battery life I ever had.

Lithium Ion cells do not get better in any way after a few charges.
In fact the capacity goes down a wee tiny little bit with each and every charge, so your first charge was the "best" one.
Stop playing around with the thing for 5 hours non stop and you will get decent runtime.
Best thing to do with a new device is to charge it up fully as soon as you can. Then run it down until you get the low battery warning. Then charge it back up.
Battery life will likely be pretty poor for the first week or so, then it will normalize.
Deep discharging (to 0%) is about the worst thing you can do to a LiIon battery, because it "hurts" it much more than several shallow discharges.
Also, like I said before, battery capacity won't in any way rise or "normalize" over the first week.
Battery life is poor the first days because you use your shiny new device all the time (i.e. more than later). It's like that for all of us.
My battery life sucked the first few days, It got better though. It really only seems to suck it down if it is hunting for a signal constantly.

You also need to try this manual battery calibration:
http://myhtcdesire.com/tutorials/how-to-improve-your-battery-life-calibration-tutorial
After I did this, saw the battery reading 99% and 98% more often rather than straight to 96% after charged.
Originally, it was suggested by HTC tech support. I did that once every six months or so ... And my battery level is now improved. Screenshots will follow in the next post.
Not bad?
Sync is off btw. And this includes using Maps 2%.
At least with my usage pattern, I am more or less satisfied.

You need to remember the only thing relating to battery life is not just the battery, it's software as well, hence calibration. After about a week or so your phone gets a "feel" for your battery and gets more battery stats, so it's more accurate with it's readings. That is a proven fact, you need to think about all things.

It is quite easy to gauge a Lithium Ion battery. 4.20 V = full. 3.60 V = empty. Your phone can read the battery precise to 0.001 V. The curve isn't linear, but it's well known what voltage relates to the exact capacity left in the battery.
There's really no room to "feel" anything there, just simple math.

I consistently get 15-18 hours of use out of mine with the extended battery.
But to the OP, if your screen is taking up 60% of your battery, it's always on, your battery is gonna die, it happens. Your battery doesn't get "better" with time. It seems that way because you aren't glued to the device 24/7.
Mine was god awful when I first got it but after a week or so it got much, much better.
I have the GSM version though.

WIFI seems to be much better. With my LTE on I can barely charge the phone LOL. I wouldn't trade 20 Mbps down for bettery life.
I'd say my experience has been the opposite of what's been reported. With low to medium usage, I'm lucky to get 8 hours. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I've never been an iPhone fan, but since the iPhone 4 the battery has been phenomenal. Battery life is constantly improving on Android phones, but it seems like every time something new is introduced it gets significantly worse. The 720p screen and LTE radio don't seem to be helping the battery cause. In the Nitro's defense, I haven't carried it an entire day to see how it works out for me. My Inspire could charge completely in about 2 hours, this phone will have changed less than 50%. But I have 20 Mbps download!!!

Good point. Now that you mention it, it does appear to charge faster when plugged into the wall. Well that kind of sucks. This thing takes forever to charge. I'll try with a wall adapter when I am home again and let you know what I find out.
It's kind of hard to always have a wall charger with me though.
It is not blackberry crazy short timing charges but I can charge it less than 2 hours from around 20% left using stock 1.5 amp wall charger. It definitely does not charge long.

Am I correct to assume that the 2.1amp car charger would charge better/faster than the 1.5amp wall charger? I ask because with the wall charger I still consume power faster than the charger can keep up while watching SlingPlayer mobile.
Probably so, this phone is a battery draining beast. Every review I've read says LTE phones have terrible battery life. LG should have had an option to disable it and 3G. Oh well, I'll live with it while streaming on my 22 Mbps DL connection.
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda premium
That's just it though... I'm not on LTE while using SlingPlayer. I'm on 4G out in the field. My car charger doesn't say what it is, but I assume it's 1.5amp. I download "Advanced Task Killer" app, but everything I "kill" comes right back up. I think there's too much crap running and sucking down the battery. I really need to figure out how to root and freeze bloatware crap.

Limit the Note 2 from 1.6Ghz to 1.1Ghz with build in feature to save battery

I know most of you already notice this but if you don't:
In Setting/ Power saving mode, check the "CPU power saving" then your phone will be limit to 1.1GHz max from 1.6Ghz.
I would suggest to tick on the "Screen power saving", "background color" and "turn off haptic feedback" to save some extra juice.
LTE on. 24h unplugged. 75% screen brightness. Full heavy haptic feedback. Heavy gaming and Internet use. Phone calls. Texting. 3D live wallpaper. Still 7h screen on time before the phone finally had to be plugged in.

Try a day without charging your phone at your desk. Yesterday I pulled in about 7 hours of on-screen time. That's with LTE and anything else internet intensive you could imagine. The only way you'll overcome that worry you have is to test it out yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I would understand this philosophy if the Note 2 didn't have an easily replaceable battery, but in a years time you could replace a poor battery for cheap. Just recently the stand with extra battery and charger was $30 on the Samsung site (it may still be that price)

I don't know what you use your phone for but I'm going crazy on mine and can't kill the battery. If you need more juice, then more power to ya. I can't fathom why.

Damn, I wish I could get run times like that. I usually get HSPA signal and after 16 hrs I'm dead with 4-5 hrs of screen on time. I mostly text and do web browsing. Maybe an hour of music with wifi on all the time and auto brightness. Still lasts longer than my SGS3 did.
My first charge is 7 hours screen time for 24 hours unplugged. Now it's going down hill to 4-4:30 hours after i rooted and remove bloats. Installed couple MoDs.. Dammed i wish i can go back to 7 hours screen time

You do know to "remove bloat" all you had to do was go into the stock app manager in settings and disable anything you didn't want. That is actually a much better solution than "freezing" with TiBu or removing altogether. I'm not convinced root and mods are 100% stable yet. Most people reporting decreased battery life are those that have rooted or modded something. I'm still 100% stock with ATT stuff disabled and batt life is still 7+ hours.

Even bare stock I wasn't getting that much screen on time. So far I've only rooted and changed the kernel. Though today my battery life is starting off good. Yesterday I ticked the power saving option for the screen. I'll post an update tomorrow.
Today I was on for 5.5 hours, screen time of 2.2 and was at 54% with Power Saving On
So I went to bell and grabbed another battery
Time will tell if that helps
I could never reach 5 hours of screen time but could have the phone on for 30+ hours
I cant wait till we get more developer support, I used Francos Kernel with my galaxy nexus and it improved battery by 30 % and made my 8 hours overnight use only 2% battery. I was using 12-17% overnight with my note 2 asleep. Aside from kernels and roms I use this phone exactly the same as I did my Nexus. wifi off, bt off, gps on, push email on, auto brightness

I'm still suffering from battery OCD after coming from the iphone 4S. Now I feel like plugging in my note 2 whenever I'm at my desk at work.... So you guys don't think I need to?

Lithium Ion batteries actually do better if you don't charge it constantly. In other words let it run down a bit before charging. You don't want to always keep "topping it off". But in general these batteries are much more resilient than others.
Just do some research. There's lots of info out there.

Umm, no, it does not. You are stressing the battery out. Unless needed, dont keep the battery below 20%. Its healthier to charge the phone sporatically throughout the day.
These aren't nickel batteries...they dont need to be trained or "cycled"

I'm a battery test engineer so I have played around with Li-ion batts.
If you can keep the phone at cool temperature and charge at 40% and stop at 80% then keep doing 40-80, your battery will last double long

Agreed. Full discharges are not necessary for lithium ion batteries. Full discharges were needed for NiCad or NiMH batteries as they suffered from memory effect. LithIon doesn't suffer from this. With that said, a lot of experts do suggest discharging a LithIon periodically, maybe once a month or every other month.
