[Q] Media Center with HD Dock - Atrix 4G Accessories

I just watched the review of HD Dock connected to HDTV - it's amazing party tool. So I have a question about it: can it play music and video stored on the phone itself only ? or Can it also play media shared over local network (like shared iTunes library)?

[Q] Movie Streaming from WHS

Hi guys
I have recently come from the Windows mobile systems to Android (because WP7 is kack), I used to log into my Windows Home Server and stream movies from it to my phone using WebGuide.
This method doesn't seem to work on Android, does anyone know of any applications for Android or Windows Home Server which will allow me to do this again?
Most movies are home made and have been converted to .mp4 or .wmv formats but I do have a couple of .avi movies too.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Terry
I have had luck with the mp4 streaming server from the tools4movies website. Streams well over wifi and will do 3G if the quality is reduced enough. It might suit most of your needs
Never found an Android app and was considering a Windows 7 phone since it is supposed to work well with WHS V2, I have decided to stick with Android.

If you can install VLC player on your server, you can watch your movies with VLC S&C Free app for your DHD. You can play anything with that - mp4, avi, wmv, mkv... you name it.
This is probably old news now but for anyone who wants to know, I finally found an app that works.
It's called Subsonic, it works on port 4040 on your media center/WHS box and streams perfectly for music and video - it doesn't say that it supports video as it was originally designed just for music but it works impressively none the less.
Subsonic also has a trick up its sleeve which allows you to watch live tv directly from your tv tuner, from what I can tell this only works from Media Centre machines itself with a HD Homerun box which allows TV over IP.
I hope this helps anyone who comes across this article.

What media server is subsonic connecting to? I can't get it to see twonky
None, it just sits on my Windows Home Server and streams my personal music and movies directly.

[Q] Photo album through DLNA

Dear Devs (and other who can help),
usually I can see photos of my Desire HD through DLNA on my Tv set (only photos without transitions effect and music) but I can't find the way to see Album (sequence of slide show with music) through DLNA.
Is there already this possibility (that I don't know how to) or do you know it will be possible to play the sequences as on my smartphone options (transition effects and music) through DLNA?
Thanks

DLNA Streaming

My Galaxy S2 has allshare installed so I can stream my 100's of videos from the PC to the phone. I assumed this was standard now but not on the One X.
I can connect to the PC and see the videos etc but about 3% of them actually play or are supported format, on the S2 everything just worked.
Is there any way to get these files supported on the One X without conversions?
Select the gallery and then the album that contains your movies and then use the menu and pick select player. From there you should be able to see dlna players on your network

Yes I can see the movies but the One X supports what seems to be around 3 video file types, so no DivX or XviD can be played on the phone at all. Is there any apps I can use to stream more codecs to the phone?
I'm using Emit app for movie streaming from my pc to one x, playing almost all kinds of format also including divx rmvb mkv etc. etc.

How to play music to XBMC Mediacenter

Hi
I just changed from RCMix3D to Ice cold sandwich.
I have been using the feature to choose output in both gallery and music player, to send the pictures, videos and music from my phone to my XBMC mediacenter.
Is this feature a Sense feature? Or has it just not been ported in the ICS yet?
Does anyone know how to get it to play to XBMC?
Regards
Since HTC Sense own MediaShare used DLNA protocols to transmit multimedia to and from the phone, you can use any other DLNA certified application such as Skifta.
There are also another alternative such as setting up your own media folder onto your network. Therefore, XBMC can monitor the content of your media files directly without hassle.

Watching movies on Xbox

So I was playing with my phone and I saw a button that said switch screens while looking at a picture. I pushed it and the picture showed up on my tv. My Xbox just happened to be on. I had no idea that this was an option. It works with video too. Although with movies it says I need to log into Xbox live to view that content. Xbox won't let me log in right now. Can I push movies to any Xbox with my Note 2. What an awesome option that I had no idea was there.
This option is available if you have a smart tv or dlna capable media player. I watch video on my tv all the time with my Galaxy s3. Pictures and music are very easy to output. Video output is much more complex as it relies that the dlna device (your smart tv or media player) be able to decode the video natively.

Wow that is really cool. I didn't know that the Xbox 360 was dlna compatible. In fact I just bought the mhl setup so I could watch phone movies on that projector the Xbox is hooked up to. There are probably a lot of people out there that has this ability and don't know it.
You can also download the smartglass app and control the xbox with it
