Hi all..i'm having an issue while charging my Desire..i noticed that the charging is REALLY fast, but when i unplug it and send just one sms, battery percentage drops down to 98%..so i plug it in again and let it charge to 100% and i don't unplug it immediatelly, i leave it connected for about 15 or 20 minutes, but then my battery percentage is beggining to drop down while connected ...and i can watch drops..every 1% drop down takes about 1-2 minutes...so after half an hour it drops to 80% and starts to charge again ...as i wrote, after "fast" charge, my battery drops down really quickly, but after "slow" charge my battery lasts for 2 days like it's nothing...phone is brand new, i rooted it, installed Amethyst 2.3.2, RC8 witg kernel included in it, wiped battery stats and did everything else...i had same issues with my Xperia X10i and my HTC Hero...so, if anyone has issues like me, please help, if the help is possible

ok, over the last week or so ive had this issue, gradually getting worse...
my battery will charge to around 40-45% and then charging will slow right down.
two hours later, it will be on around 50% if im lucky, and about 3 more further hours before i hit 60% (this is some of the time, other times, it just remains on its current charge%)
if i leave it overnight for about 10hours or so, highest it goes to now is about 73%, but this is rare, usually 45-50%ish.
ive tested with htc ac wall charger, htc usb, blackberry charger, car charger and a random microusb wallcharger. all have same issue.
when tested with two friends desire hd's on different days, my battery charged perfectly, and at the normal gradient speed over the % range. and my phone reads it correctly at the 100%-98% when back in my phone after change back.
i thought it was down to my phone, just dont know if its rom or hardware. shud i factory restore, or claim on insurance?
i have another issue here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18480603&posted=1#post18480603
which also applies to the question of restore or insurance...
thanks
What Rom are you using, i am using runny 2.2 only 62% charge in 6 hours
9 hours later on battery only upto 68% i have amazing battery life now
i'm using runny 2.2.....left it on charge for 2 hours with phone on, but wifi and everything off and it had only gone up 2% ! !
Turned phone off and plugged in charger, 30 mins later, only went up 1% ! !
72% charge at this point.
So took it off charge, put it in my pocket, went upstairs to bed, turned it on to set alarm and it said 100% on battery....weird!!

Lol this is an issue with calibration. The battery is charging but the software doesnt report it.
You have to charge the phone for as long as possible so you know it is on 100% whether the software says it or not, go into CWM, wipe the battery stats and then let the battery drain fully until it shuts down by itself. Then plug it in and leave it until you know for certain it is at 100%. If the green light comes on leave it for an additional half an hour. Then it will be fixed.
ive only recently got this handset, as last one was replaced on insurance a month or so ago, and its runuing on stock rom with latest updates....?
Hey XDA, I just purchased a new AT&T SGS3 and I'm having some issues with the battery on the phone.
When I charge the phone overnight it charges to 100% then when I unplug it, the battery drops tremendously in about 5 seconds down to anywhere from 50%-75%. I tried manually recalibrating the battery by charging it 8+ hours, removing the battery, charging again while off, charging it again while on, then restarting. That seemed to work for one charge and the battery acted the way that it would have on my Nexus S.
However charging it again after a full battery drain, the same thing happened.
Also when the phone is low on battery, it displays the normal battery messages, but then the screen stays on, draining the battery faster.
Solutions? I want the root the phone, but only after I have these issues sorted out. (I'm still under warranty right now)

Did you try a reset of the phone through the settings ? After that try charging to 100% then drain completely and then recharging without break then use the phone mormally and try to recharge only when it hits 10% remaining for the next 2 or 3 charge cycles and see if that helps

Looks like a bad device. I would send it in if i were you.
Hi mates. My beloved gio is doing something wrong with battery.. In one moment it started to drain battery so fast. I am charging battery for 6hours, disconnected and if i was doing something on phone, battery discharges in 5mins. If i do nothing with it it loses 1% per 2hours. I tried another charger but its the same. When gio turns off and i connect it to charger it writes charged in few secs. Ive tried reinstalling rom, recalibrate battery but nothing works. So is my battery dead or have i some issue?
I have my gio for about 1 year now and I started to have the same problem, first when i went on youtube it drained the battery in like 5 mionutes, I was still able to listen to music and use whatsapp, which didnt drain the battery very rapidly, but after a few days even listening to music drained the battery in like 15 minutes.
So for all I can say its a battery problem, most lithium batteries have a life time of about 300-400 charges, after that, battery becomes instable.
EDIT: Also, it wasn't a rom problem, i was running CM7 and switched to CM9 but this also gave battery problems.
Guys I need your advise very badly regarding battery..I am using latest insertion ROM by siulmagic, whenever I am using my phone for surfing, using wi-fi, or watching videos, while charging, my battery percentage keeps decreasing, very slowly though, also if I put it on charge at 12 Am and when I see at morning at 8Am, it still indicating red led as it's charging, I thought my battery would be faulty, so I got new one, and charged it fully, it took 6 hours, when I turned on my mobile, it started with 99%, then decreased at 1% per minute, I don't even have sim in it, and network.is set to aeroplane mode, I replaced it again, and newer one is still the same..I have also flashed glite ROM, which is best in battery life, but with no help, to check the charger issue, I use stock g2 charger in my sensation, and it charged normally, please advise me..what's your opinion why my battery problems suddenly started? that it can't even charge whole night, previously when I don't have sensation, I used it for surfing, gaming, movies, and while charging, now when I turn on wi-fi or watch movies while charging, it decreases, and when leave it charging without using it..the percentage increases very very slowly especially between 90% to 100% it takes hours...
- try to reset battery stats... u can try battery calibration... only if u have root your phone...
- try to check which apps consume high battery...
Hey Guys,
i got my ZL 3 or 4 weeks ago, and can say it´s absolutly awesome, but since ca. 2 weeks, i have a problem with my battery. The problem begun, as i found my battery completely discharged, so i put it on the charger. But it didn´t charge the whole night. In the next morning it startet to charge, i waited till 100% an took it off the charger. Over the day, i watched the battery drain, and it was more than normal, the battery went empty, after a 5 or 6 hours with 95% standby time. At home i charged the phone again up to 100%, ab pluged it off, the next morning, the battery had lost not a single percent off its charge. So i went to work, with the phone in my pocket. A little later the phone got really hot, i pulled it out and, found the battery with only ca. 55%, so i turned off the phone. 45 minutes later, i turned it on again, and the battery had only 27% left. And so it goes on the next days, with more or less battery drain, some days the battery holds 10 hours perfectly, and at some other days it only holds 4 hours and less. And now the charging procedure have problem too, when i charge the phone via USB, it charges unbelieveble slow, and even discharges sometims , but when i charge it with the power adapter, it charges unbelieveble fast, you can watch the percentage rise in minutes. I tried the STAMINA modus but, it didn´t help at all, and the screen is on the lowest brightness.
And i have too say, i don´t have any apps activ, and 3G is only on for a few seconds sometimes.
The phone isn´t rooted, or everything else, it´s completyly stock.
I hope someone experienced any similiar problem, and have a solution for me, because it´s an awesome phone and i didn´t want to miss it.
(Sorry for my not so good english)
Yours faithfully
Tim
