I've followed about 10 different links to files that I'm attempting to download to de-soft brick my phone. I'm having ZERO luck. Everything is dead. I've never experienced anything like this before for the 10 or so Android phones I've owned and hacked.
I managed to find Odin 4.3, but I keep getting an invalid file error. & before you call me a noob and tell me to download it again, or change the file name. I've already done that. Several times.
Am I ****ed?
I don't know what Odin 4.3 is but...
If you can get into download mode, use Odin 1.85 and find a rom to try.

If you can't get into download mode, then I'm not sure what to do as I haven't researched brick stuff.
I'm also not sure if the dev forum is the right place for this thread.
Maybe.. if u tried almost ever thing u could to bring your phone back from a brick and its still brick than maybe its time to give up.. pay your deductible and get yourself a replacement.. U have to remember there are consequences to hacking your phone and u have to deal with it now.. Sorry

Try the thread that is titled, bring your phone back from the brink, or something like that.. as long as you have download mode, you are good to go. And odin 4.3 is not an app for our phone.. odin3 ver 1.86 i believe is the newest...

Odin 1.65 is in this thread along with stock Froyo. I had a problem with my samsung logo not showing on boot and following the instructions in this thread got rid of my problem. As others have said, if you can't get into download mode you are out of luck as far as I know.
If you can't get into download mode and have TEP, take your phone into a Corporate Owned Repair Center, give them some bull**** story where suddenly your phone wouldn't come back on, I have done this twice now and they have given me a brand new Epic every time right there on the spot.....no deductible!
U sure down look round for a person that previously have 10 different android phones smh

If you can get into download mode but, you still can't flash, then you probably have a bad cable. If you are using the stock usb cable, replace it with a quality micro usb cable and that should get you sorted. The ones that come with the phone are garbage.
I do find it a little humorous when you say not to call you a noob immediately after you pull "Odin 4.3" out of your hat. You would do well if there was a techie stand up act and your timing was just right.

Yeah man you sure are acting like a noob with the posting in development and all... not to mention odin 4... try turning everything off. Then hold 1 for like 15 seconds then press power while still holding 1. Try around with different combinations of that and it should turn on eventually. Mine did.
cd's or tapes?
Edit: too much natural light perhaps?
Tw I am a n00b and even I know that there is NO an odin 4.watever!

I was having trouble ODIN'ing my phone. It kept failing and I thought I bricked my phone because it wouldn't power on. I switched my USB port on my laptop and bam, it worked. Maybe try that (assuming you can get into download mode on your phone).
Try using another fully charged battery from a friends epic. Sometimes waiting an hour works can't tell you how many times I thought I hosed my epic or vibrant for that matter.

Odin Multi Downloader 4.03 wasn't the right tool for the job. I got it from a thread similar to mine where someone was bootlooping and needed to flash back to stock. However, the link provided in the thread that Aryander posted did the trick right away.
Thanx
Sorry for posting within the wrong section.
Hello! I needed help unbricking the phone! The weird thing is I didnt really do anything that would cause it to brick the moment the phone went out on me so I dont really know what to do!
I was running the Juggernaut ROM and have used it for almost a month now and just today when I swiped down to read the email on the notification bar, the screen turned off! I pushed the power button to turn the screen on but nothing! I then held the power button so I can turn off the phone and turn it on again but then I just felt a vibration and thats it! Nothing came on!
I then proceeded to take out the battery and leave it out for a bit and after a few minutes I put the battery back in and turned on the phone to no avail! I also tried to boot into recovery by holding the power up and down buttons then pushing and holding the power button! I had a flicker of the SAMSUNG logo but that's pretty much it aside from the usual vibration as I turn on the phone!
Can anybody help me out? Is there some kind of fix or am I pretty much screwed and have to return the phone to tmobile?
Your help is much appreciated! Thank you in advance!
Did you see this from the dev forum?
This is the "unbrick" thread that you can use Odin and the 2.3.5 TAR to reset your phone. You will need to download 7-Zip to extract the file (Google for the download site), but the rest is straight forward.

For some reason, as I was about to do odin and plugged in the device via usb, the battery icon finally came on and I hit the power button and it was fine! That was so weird! Battery was fully charged before this thing happened to me and I think what happened was I had to fully drain the battery or something then once I recharged it was fine again! Weird thing is just a week ago this happened to my co-workers HTC EVO 4G as well and I was telling her maybe you think you charged your phone but didnt really and now this happened to me as well?
Maybe its an android thing? I dont know but I am very happy to have a fully functional phone again!
Thanks alot for the help though! I really appreciate the help that came when needed!
Okay.. so I was attempting to root my phone.. started the Odin.. my phone showed up.. then did the PDA thing & clocked start.. well bout 5 seconds later my stupid PC restarts & basically my phone was stuck. So I had to restart my phone.. it stars up.. now it has te yelow triangle.. but nothing works on my phone. No apps are working. Even my buttons on the bottom of the phone wont light up or work. So I thought of just do a hard reset And go back to the beginning.. but when I go to recovery mode I gotta use the home Button to select an option but my home button wont work.
I can get into the settings on my phone & when I went to the about phone section.. it says "unknown" for the baseband version and for the hardware version. Plus everytime I restart the phone it goes back to 12am..
Can someone please try to help me..
one more issue...
My phone has no service at all now either... what do I do!???
Go into Bootloader again. Volume down with the power button and use odin to flash this kernal for root.

So Im still confused.. I also have an issue kinda.. cuz I dont have internet access at my house.. so its sorta kinda hard to do all this.. But Ill figure out something..
When i turned on my phone today it says Sansung Galaxy Sii then it says something like i1900 or something.. & has the yellow triangle.. My phone is not an i1900 its the d710 or whatever the sprint model is..
So in order to get my phone back to basically the way it came when i took it out of the box.. what do I need to download?
& when I do download the file..
I use the ODIN program.. open it.. then plug in my phone USB.. & it should recognize it..right?
then i do the PDA button.. & look for the file.. then push start.. & it should do its thing, then reboot & it will be okay then?? I hope??
Do i need to have my phone in debugging mode.. dO ineed to have my SD card in my phone?
I just wanna make sure I get everything right before I attempt to do any more kinds of tweaking on my phone..
Im so frustrated without my phone & i havent even had this phone for a month yet & already I messed it up..
I was just trying to do the simple ROOT so that I can use the USB tether since I have no internet at home.. but I guess I didnt succeed.. Sucks
Thanks for youe help again guys.. I really appreciate it

Okay, After u go to this link and Download the rom. plug in ur phone and make sure you UNCHECK F-Reset time. the only one that should be checked is Auto reboot. after u do that. click the PDA and put the rom in. Double check again to see if its only Auto reboot and click start. it should give u full root access and ur phone will be back to normal if u do it right. i do not guarantee it but im 89% sure it'll work.

I understand your frustration. I'd be devastated without my phone.
First off, the "GT-i9000" logo and triangle is completely normal. You have nothing to worry about.
As far as using Odin, you have everything correct. Just make sure auto reboot is the only thing checked.
Use this to flash back to stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383678
Make sure the phone IS in debugging mode and NO you don't need an external SD card to perform these steps. It's irrelevant.
Sent from the future.
I would recommend that you try the steps from the guy above me, first.
My steps are usually used if you're soft/hard bricked. Being that you're able to boot the phone, it may not be necessary.

Welll I've followed direction. I'm trying to flash the deodexed rooted busybox cw5 ek02 or whatever its called.. does it take a long time to do this.. using odin.. cuz my phone has been plugged in & in download more or whatever.. for almost an hour.. so I have a feeling something is still not right. Cuz I really don't think it should take this long..
& my home & menu buttons don't work now either..
post the Odin log. You may have to open Odin as an administrator. (Right click > run as administrator.)
Edit: by the way, Odin never takes an hour to do anything.

You will need internet and a computer, go to a friends if u can and restore your phone back to stock with Odin. Relax I went through the same thing. Just search "back to stock on Epic Touch 4G " on these forums. ACS has a great step by step. Good luck!!!!
So i have read through dozens of threads and cant get this to work... When i go to recovery i get a picture of a phone with a red triangle and an exlimation point. I have not modded the phone at all.
The other day, i pulled it out of the box and charged it...i read through all the threads on how to root...once i thought i had my **** together, i went ahead and attempted root...the first thing i ran into was this phone and triangle bit.
Now adb says its out of date and i can't push any files to the phone.
I even tried the HTC tool that i have seen referenced in other threads.. please help
thanks!
PS i am running Froyo..if that helps
When you get that triangle, do you press volume up + power?
I think that's the way to get to Clockwork mod recovery, if you put that in.
The best way to get root that I know of is this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1245086 . I had to do it the hard way & don't even remember how I did it lol. Follow closely to directions & you should be fine.
Good luck & hope it works for ya!!
Ok I was following this root toolkit step by step..... everything seemed to be going smoothly, I was flashing Odin and when the phone powered off to reboot, nothing happened. It did not reboot and on the toolkit page it just says ``waiting for device to be detected``.... but nothing. I tried to power up the phone manually and nothing...for a split second an image of a completely drained battery with a ``loading circle`` in the center of the battery, but then it disappears and still nothing but a dead phone. I tried to boot the phone up holding the home button, volume down and power and a warning message comes up saying....
Warning: A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key. Otherwise, press the volume down key to cancel and restart phone``
I tried the volume down and `` SAMSUNG`` appears for a split second then dead again.
Can somebody PLEASE help me....... Im so stupid...Ive had this brand new phone for less than 12 hours!! Thank you all in advance and I hope to hear from anyone. .
This is the toolkit I used was Samsung Galaxy Root Toolkit V3.0....SGS3 Snapdragon Toolkit V1.0
At the end of the steps it stated xda was the source so I figured it was legit.
Jeff
how long did you wait for the phone to reboot?
if you can get to the warning about the custom os again, that's a good sign. when you do that, press volume up and use odin to load a stock rooted rom and you should be fine.

well use the odin-flashables in the thread i just linked you to. you'll want to keep it in download mode (which is what you're in)
is your battery charged? you're going to want it to be when your flash anything.

If you can still get into download mode (big yellow triangle) and ODIN will recognize you phone, you can get everything you need from this forum thread to root it and then install TWRP or CWM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
If you would prefer to just get back to stock for today, you can get what you need here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625
Do not deviate from these two threads. Everything you need is contained within the first post of each of those threads.
Make sure you get the correct files for your phone (AT&T, Bell, Rogers etc.) It actually doesn't really matter as long as they are files for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S3 or I747 model. For the sake of making it easy on you, use the Rogers files as you are in Canada on the Rogers/Fido network.
I know you are in panic mode but seriously, take your time and READ the posts about how to do it. Rushing anything in this game can easily screw your phone up for good as you have already experienced first hand.
If you cannot get your phone to go into full download mode and have ODIN on your PC connect to your phone, you have it borked it up beyond easy everyday repair.

I am not in your position, so please don't blame if it gets worse, but I've done several flashes so I am going to explain what would I do.
Go into the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
and download this and follow the instructions there
Rogers Image
Current I747MVLDLK4 (JB 4.1.1)
Mirror 1: Download root66_RWC_I747MVLDLK4.7z
Second,
