720p record of camera..pls check.. - Defy General

Hi all,
I find a guy in China post a 3 seconds 720p video recorded by Defy. I've checked with the file, it's true (with the video information and the guy took the video before a mirror from which I can see the defy) and the quality is fine.
the video file is posted in below link, but need registration..
bbs.gfan.com/android-808478-1-1.html
My question is whether any rom or update lib already make it available?

Anyone confirmed this? I cannot see myself - i am at work :/

I can't see the videos, the guy is talking about Hancock 1.0rom.

cant see a video it doesnt open :?

uploaded the 720p record..

Yes, the guy said he uses the Hancock 1.0 rom, and he explained that maybe the speed of SDHC card is the key aspect to have a 720p video record, as other people could not reach 720p although they also use Hancock's rom.
I upload the video in,
(delete the blank between w) w w w.rayfile.com/en/files/7ccd5ebd-473f-11e0-8ef0-0015c55db73d/5a4aff15/
Anybody have a check?

Now, I have some doubt about the video, as I find the defy doesn't move while the other things are moving in the video..
What do you think?

I was watching the video that you upload and I can tell you that is a good video (3 seconds duration) that shows a defy in front a mirror. But I can't read anything anywhere about the libraries and any other stuff to import at EU version for exemple.
Has any one the information about that? Thanks!

I checked the source forum and it looks promising, though the rom doesn't seem very stable at the moment, and many users still can't use the 720p recording (instant crash, but some can according to what they said).
The author is working on the 720p recording issue, but I doubt it has anything to do with sd card speed. 2mb/s should be more than enough and its hard to find slower sd card these days.

the first vid seems rather good, but i didn't like the 2nd video with obviously too much compression.

gfan.com forums are horrendously to browse, 99% of people are just replying for replying sake and to gain some "virtual coins"... Stupid.
back to the topic, if it's true, then I suppose it will trickle onto other roms later.

It seems the mods are in libbayercamera.so, not in libsoccamera.so; so 720p rec won't work on our (older MB525?) devices.

Please could you explain this?
Why it wound work?
Defy hast got a HD Cam inside.
So why it shoudnt work?
Where we can get this file?

I have seen this video and i was wondering how the hell he got 720p ..
Late there was a comment :"iMovie has exported this video in 720p even if the original clip was smaller"

OK, I installed the custom rom http://bbs.nduoa.com/android_gphone_thread-102474-1-1.html. After installation, the phone model changed from MB525 to ME525.

Call recorder, the unique Chinese rom feature, works as expected.
New recording options are added.
720p (1280x720) recording works here, though the quality isn't great. A small chip taken in 720p is attached.

Please, could someone find out which files are modded and build a working one for ure MB525 Defy?
Would realy great!!!
So also we can use our LED for Flash and it wouldnt be kill!! )

Svetius: Can you enable EMBEDDED YOUTUBE VIDEOS? If not, what are the issues please.

Hello, just checking to see if the reason for no embedded youtube videos has to do with server load, or other performance issues, or whether it is the view of site management that maybe it would clutter the site?
The HTC Desire Forum just created its own YouTube Video Channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/XDAdesire ...
... where we can not only post videos that demo what the quality of the phone's video is, but also provide an easy place where people can post video questions ... or demos of new ROMS, new apps, etc.
We are enabling direct uploads to YouTube via our phones (thread).
Easy access to Mobile and Full versions of YouTube.
It would surely integrate better here if we could then embed our videos here within our "home", XDA. What's the view on this please? Thank you
You're right, you should be able to do this. I'm looking into it...

WHOAAAA! You are frikkin awesome, amigo. My god thank you so much. Major step for XDA-developers and I can tell you the HTC DESIRE forum will make great use of it.
But for all purposes: demo-ing a new ROM, installation guides, reviews, etc, this is the integration I have wanted for years.
A pay-raise for svetius! (hah hah -- In lieu of that I will contribute tomorrow to XDA-developers again.

Also, to avoid confusion: FYI to svetius: You might want to substitute another video here, because if anyone clicks on this one, they see the video has been deleted? WHY? How?
Well, seems someone tampered with the brand new XDAdesire YouTube channel last night, causing youtube to pull the channel down, and with it all media posted there. I had to petition today to get the channel restored and thankfully the formatting was preserved for the channel itself...
... but the only 2 videos there so far are gone forever .... The "hijinx" is the result of my having experimented with enabling an "OPEN CHANNEL", whereby everyone in the HTC DESIRE forums had access to the password -- to make it as easy as possible to enable people to upload videos and edit subject/descriptions/tags.
Someone must have abused that... So as with many things, extra constraints now have to be placed on the channel. HOWEVER, the prime objective is still active:
Anyone can:
• SHOOT A VIDEO FROM their phone
• THEN EMAIL IT to a special dedicated address for the channel
• and the VIDEO THEN GOES LIVE without ever having to log into YouTube to post it.
Hopefully more "hijinx" is avoided. ... Meanwhile new videos need to be uploaded. My HTC Desire just arrived in San Francisco yesterday, April 13, and it's now charging up... So by tomorrow I for sure will post some videos to the channel --- and then look forward to embedding them here at XDA!
TAH-DAH !!!
testing one, two, three, four !
Awesome Now can post embed to the instructional videos even though they will probably have to be seen full screen but looks better than links on thread.
The screenshot showing howto em bed the YouTube video is not available anymore (the image doesnt show).

As long as we're still on stock firmware our warranty will save us. And no, the worst thing we can get doing this kind of burn-in test is only reboot.

Would be nice if the phone supported more than one display via special MHL cable, 2-4 displays, like desktop cards. Games would have to be updated to support that as well... play movie on one display for someone to watch it while you use the phone to do some work (for example PC remote desktop on another display) or play at the same time.

[APP]FastCam Quick Video Recorder - Catch that moment on video before it's late

Baby taking first steps? Pet doing something funny? Witnessed something on the street? Never miss a moment again!
I made this app specifically for the first point above - catching the right moment when my 2-year-old boy does something. FastCam records video with one touch. Just touch the app icon and that's it! No need to take multiple steps to get to your phone camera's video function.

I suggest to record the videos in the DCIM directory though, in the same place as the regular video directory. It would be less messy and handy for the auto-upload through Dropbox. Actually, the best would be to have an select option.

I have bought HD version this week , working perfect !
Could you add an option to actrivate or not the start/stop beeeep please ?
Thanks for your work ! Great App !
thanks for no response ! i managed to do myself .....
For users how want "silent" this app :
Need root : Go to System/media/audio/ui/
Simply rename Cam_Start.ogg and Cam_Stop.ogg to Cam_Start.ogg.back and Cam_Stop.ogg.back
Or remove them directly
Test .... yeahh silent mode for ever ! :highfive:
Would be a good idea to implement this in your app , for non rooted users ...
Cheers

Youtube in 1080p?

Can you guys recommend some way(the best way) to watch 1080p on the nexus.
No use in wasting the screen on the stupid native app, which nevermind not allowing FHD, simply has HORRIBLE upscaling.
I've tried some apps which mostly fail catastrophically for one reason or another.
Examples:
Not respecting forced orientation(a lot of the time I use the tablet laying down with my head in "landscape" mode so to speak).
Horrible UI navigation.
Or simply not being able to open/paste YT video links.

The viral floating whatchamacallit actually has potential.
It does say that it supports 1080p so this has to be a bug.
So let's see what the feedback from the dev is.
Looks like the dev removed mention of 1080p from the app description. Shame, because it looks like a good app. Does anyone know of any 1080p solutions for us non-rooted people who can't use the modified YouTube apk?

Guys, I recently received my op3 hoping it would finally have 1080p 60fps video recording in full speed with sound. But, no luck. The Sony imx298 sensor is capable of it according to a PDF I found from Sony. Has anybody had luck with being able to activate that mode.

Does it record audio in highspeed mode?
Could you please try to open the video with the Google Photos app:
On stock OOS 3.2.2, slowmotion videos are treated as high framerate videos
and you can manually set the postion for the slowmotion to start and end just like on the iPhone.
The other areas are played in regular speed. Unfortunately without audio...
Would be great to have both audio and the above method working!

Seems to be legit, checked it in After Effects and every frame is unique.
Has anyone tried Open Camera to record 60fps at 1080p? I tried this on an Honor 7 (as 60fps doesn't come as standard on that phone) but the results were no better than the standard camera app at 30fps. Wondered if the Sony unit on the OP3 would allow Open Camera to do a better job but can't find video examples of this anywhere.
