You would be correct, its only for the Mozart. And it is a Firmware update, not an OS, this is from HTC.

There is nothing in My downloads section too.

I have flashed my TyTn yesterday with the new version. But I still wan't to check if this is the same version number as the original released one from HTC. Checked the European sit but I stil can not find the UPGRADE.
Perhaps they are looking in this community to learn if they have to change something in the ROM.............

Nevermind. HTC fixed their site. md5sum is as follows (verified from two HTC sources):

no i have the leaked rom too before & i do not have a problem
it do the error because zune will do a full backup of your phone so it may more than space available on your hard disk

I'd really like to get my hands on that update package. So I'd appreciate it if you can grab the update and post it here. It's not difficult. Here are instructions:
1. When your device or zune reports an update: WAIT! DON'T UPDATE YET! First a little preparation!
2. Download Wireshark, install it and run it.
3. In the options make sure you have Promiscuous Mode enabled (Edit -> Preferences -> Capture)
4. Click on the network interface that has your connection to the internet. That will start a trace.
5. In the "Filter" in the toolbar enter this: http.request
6. Click on "Apply"
7. Now start the update of the phone with Zune.
8. When it's done, you can click "Stop capture" in the toolbar.
9. Then File -> Save as to save the capture as a file.
10. Post the captured file here or if it's too big, mail it to me (ask for my mail-address in PM plz).

I'm not referring to the 7.10.7740.16 update. That's just the normal Microsoft update. I'm referring to an update from Nokia! But it could be that the update will only be available if you have 7.10.7740.16 installed. I'm not sure.
Ah I see. You mean the Update provided by Nokia only for Nokia devices which updates the nokia specific firmware for the battery update and tethering? I deduced from the last integrated HTC update, that the Nokia Update will also be part of the MS OS Update to version .16.
Well, I hope that the WP7 Connector for Mac will also show me a dedicated Nokia Update. I will try to capture it then.

I don't care about the 7740 update. Also I don't think it makes any difference for Interop Unlock. But I can't be 100% sure about that.
But it is very well possible that you only get the Nokia update offered when you have the 7740 update installed. It won't offer you a choice of two updates. And the 7740 update was first, so I guess you should install it. Again, not 100% sure about these things.

You know, today, WP 7.8 is officially released via Zune.
I've been using Lumia 900 with previously leaked 7.8 version.
Anyway, today, plugged my lumia into PC, checked the update.
But, it shows the message "It is the latest version 7.10 (8858)".
So, I couldn't enjoy official firmware.
What can I do for this? Is it possible to downgrade to WP 7.5? If then, I'm gonna downgrade to official 7.5 via Nokia care suit to get official 7.8 via zune.
Finally, if previously leaked 7.8 and official 7.8 are absolutely same, I would keep current state.
Please somebody guides me.

One thing I noticed is that the one you flash from Nokia Care Suite has way more ringtones I believe. I was using a certain ringtone, and today I just updated through Zune (downgraded by flashing back to Tango), and I cannot find the ringtone I was using before. The ringtone I was using was something like Moanday and the one pushed today doesn't seem to have that.

I got firmware that build number is 8779. So, I'm starting recovery with Nokia care suite.

From what I know, the difference between NCS WP 7.8 and Zune WP 7.8 (in case of my Lumia 900 RM-823) is firmware only. When you flash your Lumia with NCS, you get firmware 2175.2905.8858.12480, but when you use Zune update (from 8779 in my case), you end up with 2175.2905.8853.12440. The OS version in both cases is the same: 7.10.8858.136.

Over the past few days, I have been working on a new version of Seven-Eighter based off of the source code that Jaxbot kindly provided. I have made numerous improvements to the original version.
One of those improvements is instead of embedding the links to the update files as strings in the actual program, my version of Seven-Eighter downloads a config file from the internet which contains the links to the update files. In this manner, you, the user, do not have to download a new version of the program every time Microsoft releases a new update for Windows Phone 7.x. All I have to do on my end when a new update comes out is to just update the config file once I find links for the new update.
Some more improvements include improved error handling and some better instruction to help you with the update process. If you haven't yet, you should really check it out. I am curious as to what people think of my version compared to the original.

To be honest, I didn't test my version of Seven-Eighter with a custom rom image (only stock factory rom image). What build is it currently running?
I have the exact same question.
I pretty much bricked by bootlaoder on my AT&T HD7S using the initial version of SevenEighter from jaxbot and now can't even use the gold card method to downgrade since I need it unlocked.
My RGB bootloader screen only shows one line of text at the top in the red and nothing in the white space where it should say USB HOST/Loader Mode.
But at least I had a 7.5 Zune backup that I can restore to, the only thing being that it doesn't restore my bootloader.
So, question is, can I use your software to upgrade to a custom unlocked 7.8?

I was finally able to get my Focus S upgraded to 7.8. Got tired of waiting. I had a problem with the application and had to close it. when I relaunched, it continues where it left off. Nice! I left the update.log just in case.
Now I just need to unlock it for side loading. Anyone recommend ways that still work? Thanks.

Yes. The seveneighter app worked perfectly. I just wish I could install the version of htc connection setup I had on my hd2 so I could change my apn settings for my carrier instead of being locked out of my mms.
