Question Re: Titanium - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to remove uninstalled items from the backup and restore list on Titanium?
I have "Hosts" at the bottom of my list, which is greyed out and has a line through it, indicating that it is no longer on the phone. I would just like to remove it from the list if possible.
I have tried everything I can think of. I have deleted my backups from my SD card, explored all the options I can think of in Titanium and even cleared the Davlik Cache!
I think the file is something to do with a previous version of AdFree.
Any help would be most welcome.

This does not work. As a matter of fact, it doesn't even give me the option to delete it, yet I have no idea why.
Possibly because it is/was a package file?

Have a look in the backup folder on your SD card and see if you can delete it in there.

Backing up?

Hey guys.. i was just wondering about something..
I just got a 16gb SDcard and i already have a 4gb.. on my phone i have APP2SD+ and i would like to know, if its possible to just backup my 4gig, and then just partition my 16gig and just drag and drop my backup to that one, and then i would be able to use my programs, that ive used APP2SD+ to install on the 4gig? Without having to reinstall everything?
Is that possible? and if i didnt explain well enough, please tell me
Thanks in advance,

[Q] Titanium will not update or uninstall (fixed)

So for the past few weeks I have not been able to get titanium to update, I went to uninstall and it fails to uninstall. Anyone with any ideas? I know I could wipe but my last backup I was already having titanium problems, and it's not worth starting from scrach for one program. Maybe someone knows how to delete manually could help me out that way? I am using the donate ver. Thanks for whatever info you guys can lay on me.
Oddly, my Titanium has had a problem a few times, lately, where it won't do a back up or restore. You select one or the other, and it just switches to the list of apps.
I noticed that clearing data in Application Manager seems to fix the problem, but I hope the dev for this app figures out a fix soon.
Anyhow, you can remove it via Root Explorer, reboot, then reinstall it.
Uninstalling it will not remove your backups.
I was going to remove with rootexplore but what files do I need to delete and keep?

Don't forget trying to update busy box. That has solved a few titanium problems for me in the past.

It should be in /system/app/
or do a search for titanium and remove whatever comes up
Thanks for the help guys. I did try updating busybox, that didn't fix it.
I deleted files in the app folder, that didn't help. Then i used the search in root explorer deleted only files that were not on my SD card. Re-booted, installed titanium (install worked this time) went to market and was able to download and update. So all is good. Thanks again guys!

Titanium Backup not backing up

Titanium Backuo isn't restoring my apps after in have backed them up. I am a paid user. I have gone as far as uninstall/reinstall....delete the folder containing the backup files...deleting only backup files. Still whenever I flash a new ROM or simply want to restore my apps...the progress bar shows activity yet nothing is restored. Anyone else have a similar problem

Is you "sdcard" partition mounted? If you are doing this with your USB cord plugged in, try taking it out while doing a backup/restore.
Otherwise, I don't know what else could be causing a problem like that. I haven't had that happen to me. Are you updated to the latest version of Superuser?

Deleting your backup files? Thats not a good idea. Titanium doesn't store on the cloud so you are out of luck mate..

Titanium can store to dropbox.
Do you have "unknown sources" ticked under security settings before you started restoring? I know its basic answer but let's do this step by step.
If this isn't doing it try backing up one app with a different backup prog and see if that restores.
Go to the market and uninstall titanium backup and reinstall again...now when youll open titanium backup it will create the directory again on your sd card and the backup will work..

If his original backups were deleted he won't get them again.. drop box is not synced for him otherwise he wouldn't be asking this.. they have drop box so you can save storage space on your phone for the backups

My data file is empty
Wait, are you looking for the actual .apk files themselves?
Use Titanium Backup, go to the Backup/Restore, then press the Menu button, then tap Batch, the tap Run next to all User Apps and Data plus System Apps (it's called something like that). Let it finish, take out the SD card, send in the phone, put the sd card back and restore system data/apps.

With root is the simplest way to do it. Root, then unroot. DooMLoRD has a simple way in the Android Development section.

Root your phone and use the back up feature of Titanium Backup or Super Backup.

Can't delete anything

So I noticed my phone only had 1Gb of memory left so I was going to go through and delete some stuff. I have tried with multiple file browsers, I am s-off, rooted, and running Ecliptic. Any ideas on what I should do?

You should probably just uninstall some unused apps. Do it in settings-apps.
What are you trying to delete? Things in your "external storage" or system files?
It let me uninstall apps. But it won't let me delete anything I have downloaded or transfered to the phone. I can't delete music, TB backups, or nandroid backups. I'm a little leary to download another rom and start fresh since I only have 1Gb left . This just started happening. I go through about once a week and delete unneeded files.

Why would 1 GB left matter for a new ROM? When you wipe to install another ROM your internal storage will be cleared.

Downloads and things will probably stay, but you can delete those in the new ROM.
I figured out what it was. It was the per app hacking module in exposed installer that was causing this.
