As a Tiamat Xoom Kernel User, you agree to the following terms and common sense principals
As an Android Enthusiast, you are responsible for having a basic understanding of commonly used tools. These include, but are not limited to, ADB, shell, fastboot, and ClockworkMod Recovery.
You agree to follow the instructions EXACTLY AS POSTED. With recovery and Kernel Manager, it should now be relatively easy to flash.
You agree that this is a kernel development thread on a development website. You will treat other users with dignity respect. Your posts will be easily understandable and productive.
You agree to NEVER ASK FOR TIMEFRAMES OR ETA'S. I have a boss at work, and at home, and it's not you.
As an Android Developer, I pledge to release SAFE kernels that are as stable as possible. The goal of kernel development is to improve the performance, battery life, and provide additional functionality to Android devices.

Release Notes for 1.4.4: 1.7Ghz is likely as far as we can push the Tegra2 cores. We have stress tested the heck out of 1.7 and it is safe. However, safe does not mean stable. Personally, I can run 1.7 on Interactive governor all day and it's smooth as butter. Other folks get reboots. If you can not run at 1.7, try 1.6. Everybody who tested was able to run at 1.504 without any problems. Just because this release is clocked to 1.7, that does not mean you can not run at stock speeds. Simply do not overclock. The settings for 1Ghz are identical to stock settings. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you leave your device on INTERACTIVE. You may use Performance solely for benchmarking purposes, but then PUT IT BACK.
USB Tether: Plug OTG cable into Xoom. Plug phone with microUSB cable into OTG cable. On phone, enable USB Tether. On Xoom, run the following in terminal or script manager (Scripter, GScript, Tasker) of your choice.
Code:
dhcpcd usb1
setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8
The Xoom will not show any indication that there is a network connection. But pull up your browser and surf away. Like I said earlier, I tested this personally on the Evo with a Sense rom. It works perfect. However, there are countless devices out there. Your experience may vary.

so far ive flashed with no issues and everything is running snappy im on 1504 using smartass governer
everyone please be sure to join #xoom on freenode for future updates

Awesome I'll try this in the morning.

How do you flash the kernel with no SD support? Looks really cool and I want it! Thanks!

Flashing Instructions
1. Reboot into the bootloader by running:
adb reboot bootloader
2. Flash the boot image to your boot partition, then boot back into Android by running:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot
3. Push the bcm4329.ko and scsi_wait_scan.ko to your /system/lib/modules folder and reboot to re-enable wifi:
adb remount
adb push bcm4329.ko /system/lib/modules/bcm4329.ko
adb push scsi_wait_scan.ko /system/lib/modules/scsi_wait_scan.ko
adb reboot

Woohoo!!! Will try this this morning! Thanks

Nice! Can't wait to give this a try
edit: Get the following error:
Server not found

getting the same error here...seems like the link is down...can anyone put up a mirror if approved by the OP?

I'm so glad to see that this stuff is happening before I even have a XOOM in my hands! Amazing work!
I have a question about the scaling.
If I wanted my processor to only run at 1.5 when it needs to, which governor should I use? On my OG Droid I use Ondemand, and it seems to do exactly that (Correct me if I'm wrong) and the battery life is amazing. I'm assuming that's the setting I would use here, too.
What exactly does the Smartass governor do?

which of the boot images in the Kernel folder does one flash?

dump_image, mkbootimg, mkbootimg.sh, unpackbootimg and zImage???

looks like you downloaded the .zip installer file for clockwork recovery. I did the same thing, the link for the actual boot.img appears to be down. I looked at the script for the .zip and it appears that he is using the AnyKernel updated by Koush in the .zip, so the actual kernel is made by the .zip. We need a download to the actual boot.img before we can flash anything, and the link appears to be down...unless i am very mistaken.

Glad to get this kernel out to people for the Xoom and to have Bigrushdog taking up maintaining it. Check out the other Tiamat kernels for the Incredible and the Evo. Links in the signature.

Oops?
Sorry about the bad link guys. I swear XDA is tripping cause my url was perfect....

w/out the boot.img can't flash it. and ou link for the zimage is down.

This used to be the thread of my CM build for SD... using it again so that old users can easily find it since its heavily associated with the CyanogenMod Series!
If you have used any of my previous ROM's (HyperROM for WinMo back in the day AND HyperDroid CM6.1 for Android SD), you'll know that I build these to be Clean, Fast, Minimal and as Stable as Realistically Possible. (YMMV, of course)
I originally built this for my personal use and offer no guarantees except that I personally use this ROM and it's passed my standards for daily use as well as my 4 year old son's since he plays the games I download on the device.
In the spirit of the open source community, allow me to share and give back to something I enjoy participating in--- Tweaking my Gadgets to Death... yes, to death...
I am not a developer nor do I aim to be called as such. I believe this should be reserved for the real people who do the work behind the scenes and in the trenches of kernel hacking and coding.
I am an extreme gadget enthusiast or simply a Gadget Geek... The work I do is to build from source then put together bits and pieces of what works and what looks good to create a gadget experience that is elegant, polished, minimalist and functional (E-P-M-F).
From my HyperROM WinMO ROM roots to today, I've always liked using and sharing a ROM that meets my E-P-M-F aspirations for a gadget. Today I bring you my personal twist on an Android ROM based on CyanogenMod7.
Again, THIS is NOT a PORT... its Completely Built FROM SOURCE, Then Fully Optimized and Tweaked for the HD2!
From v3.0.0 onwards, this version is being maintained by the HyperDroid Dev Crew:
seadersn
clyder
doctorcete
pongster
Yz
fhasovic
Huge props to:
ihlades: for allowing me to build off Redux and helping me figure stuff out (saved me a lot of time)
cyanogen: for the various useful features and functions... Android is better because of you
AdamG: for the tweaks on AOSP and contributions to Android...
charansingh: for his work on the vendor related stuff for the HD2...
tytung: for his work on the kernel, vold, gps and openly exchanging code with me to make both our builds that much better.
Tricalibur and Veyka: for their generosity in sharing Unlimited Bandwidth FTP for these ROM's
doctorcete: for helping me test the ROMs over and above the call of duty. breaking what I don't break myself For adding the finishing touches on certain Framework Tweaks as well, I am grateful!
D4rk50ul: for helping rework the posts on the first page and being a helpful troubleshooter that has allowed me to fix a lot of small details. The go to guy re: GPS stuff for HyperDroid... trust me!
pinDemon: for creating an awesome video guide for HyperDroid! (more to come)
karendar, slashas69, seadersn, fhasovic, Nikola G., discohk, Yz.hd: for their time, contributions and methods of testing out the [email protected]#$% out of these ROM's and helping make it a True Community Effort (thread support, chatzy support, etc.)

In essence, if you like what you see feel free to download it directly by clicking the appropriate link below!
Upgrading is possible and theoretically safe... unless stated other wise. However, due to the complexity of different settings, applications installed, and Android system itself this upgrading would be unsupported officially and in case a bug arises we cannot provide official support other than trying full wipe.
You have been Warned.
Therefore a full wipe is always advisable to minimize errors and get proper support (everything is tested on all defaults).

MAGLDR
==========================
This guide is assuming you have a completely stock HTC HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5.
You should ALWAYS turn OFF Anti-Virus and Sleep/Hibernation/Screensavers while Flashing
1. Install HSPL 2.08 onto your device by following the directions in that thread or by watching the above video.
2. Install the newest version of MAGLDR. Unzip the file into a folder on your desktop for easy access. With the phone off Power up your device by holding the volume down button and red power button at the same time. You should see a rainbow colored screen as shown in the video above. RIGHT Click the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. When the process is finished your phone should now boot into MAGLDR with a Kernel failed to load error.
3. Download the appropriate ClockWorkMod 150MB file from HERE. Extract this file into a folder on your desktop in preparation. On the Phone select the option 5. USB Flasher using the Volume Down hardkey and press the Green Send button to confirm. Connect the phone to your PC with USB cable and wait until it says USB connected. Go to your ClockWorkMod folder and RIGHT CLICK on the DAF.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. **If you want the newest version of CWM before flashing the above file, CLICK HERE and follow the instructions.
4. You now have all the tools to install HyperDroid on your device. Insert your SD card into a card reader and connect to your PC. Copy the MAGLDR version zip of the ROM to the root of the card. DO NOT USE MAGLDR USB MASS STORAGE TO TRANSFER ROM FILES IT CAN CORRUPT THEM. Place the SD card back into your phone and press and HOLD the power button until the MAGLDR menu appears again. Select option 9. AD Recovery. Select the option "install zip from sdcard" with the volume up/down keys and confirm with green send button. Choose the ROM file and press the Green button. Scroll down to YES and press the Green button. Wait. You have successfully installed the awesomeness that is HyperDroid onto your Device.
5. For future use when upgrading versions. ClockWorkMod's NANDROID BACKUP IS YOUR FRIEND PLEASE USE IT BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING NEW TO YOUR DEVICE. The "wipe data/factory reset" option in ClockWorkMod will completely reset or (Full Wipe) your device. You still need to go to the "advanced" option and "Wipe Dalvik Cache" as well. If you are trying to keep your data just choose the two options "wipe cache partition" from the main menu and "wipe dalvik cache" option from the advanced menu, then install the new version with "install zip from sd card".

What is Hyperdroid by Pongster?
It's an Android NAND rom for HD2 that puts style, speed and stability into one. It can be considered a minimalistic ROM.
When will the next version be released?
It'll be done when it's done. Until then...
Is Hyperdroid a Sense ROM?
No, therefore all the apps and widgets that require sense will not work ie. Friendstream
What CWM recovery size should i use? EU HD2 USERS THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!
150 mb is the correct one and the most system space you will need for this or the CM7 HyperDroid!
Do NOT use the 250 mb partition or higher, the ROM may malfunction!!! You have been warned!!!
For extra space you can follow this guide to create a custom partition size and get the most out of your NAND space!
dertester123's Tutorial can be found here!
I'm getting Robotic Voice, I thought this was Fixed!
Unfortunately this has not been completely fixed as of yet, and we as you are eagerly awaiting its final demise. For now go to Settings/Sounds then uncheck audible touch tones. Place a phone call and when finished reboot.
What is the PIN CODE to use in the video pinDemon made so I can haz Android working?
Why are the icons so small?
Because the density of the screen is set to 167. If u don't like it use either the terminal or any root enabled file explorer like THIS and edit the /system/build.prop file. Find and change the number in the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=167" to 240 for stock android DPI. You can also do this before flashing the ROM by using a tool such as WINRAR to edit the file in the ROM without unzipping it.
GPS is slow what can I do to fix it?
Open the /system/etc/gps.conf file with a root text editor and change the top four servers. Change the "us" to your country code such as "cn". There are other fixes available on XDA but unfortunately GPS is never going to be native like until DEVS build the proper system files needed.
Why do some applications only extend up to a smaller part of the screen?
Probably because you did not UNcheck compatibility mode in spare parts app as advised. Do it and everything will appear normally. If you are still having issues it is the APP itself and only changing the system density will solve your issue.
ZOMG Angry Birds and/or (insert game/app here) Force closes on me what do I do?
Open your settings menu and go to the Applications sub menu. Select the misbehaving application and press the "Move to Phone" button. All Apps we've tested work from the SD Card (Fat32, Old School Move Apps to SD)
Will there be a DFT flashable version or sd version?
No. Recovery Mods such as ClockWorkMod are the future due to functionality and ease of use. They feature the Nandroid backup feature and it is strongly advised to do Nandroid backups regularly. If you prefer Titanium backup it's your choice, but don't argue about it. If you choose to use Titanium or MyBackup and experience bugs, we probably won't be able to help you because the restore itself could have caused the issue.
I am afraid of flashing CWM recovery, help me?
Installing CWM recovery is as easy as flashing HSPL or MGLDR. You will still have HSPL and MGLDR installed so you can uninstall CWM at any time. CWM allows you to do nandroid backups and therefore to restore any NAND rom in a minimum amount of time.
What is free memory?
The free memory shown in the app manager is the memory left on NAND for your /data partition. (it does not include sd card or sd-ext): Free memory = Total NAND memory (512 for RU 1024 for TMOUS) - CWM recovery (system files) - Apps installed on NAND.
Why do i have only less than 10mb of free memory left?
Because you probably used the wrong CWM recovery size. Use the 150MB ClockWorkMod partition.
If you are using the proper 150mb CMW recovery image you should have about 250 mb free with EU HD2.
Why do i freeze on the ANDROID white logo after the install?
You missed a step, installed something wrong, or haven't properly prepared your SD card. Please follow the installation instructions and try again. FULL WIPE the device if all else fails.
My SD card is slow, the camera crashes, or my gallery takes forever to load up.
I highly recommend you backup then reformat your SD card with the largest block size you can. This will greatly enhance data throughput. A FAT32 main partition with 32kb Clusters is the recommended size, although on smaller cards you may only be able to do 16kb. Also try the app called QUICKPIC in the market, it loads much quicker than stock Android Gallery.
How can i install the zip on sd-card?
Either by putting your sd-card in a card reader and downloading via your computer, or by clicking the link directly with your phone. You can place the file wherever you want on the sd card FAT main partition.
Can Hyperdroid install apps on sd-ext or use a2sd+?
If you have a primary ext3 or ext 4 partition (1024 mb is enough) AFTER the FAT 32 partition, Hyperdroid will automatically install your apps there. More specifically: app, app-private and dalvik-cache are moved to the sdcard.
What does App2sd mean?
The HyperDroid rom has Apps2sdExt support. The install detects an ext partition (if available) and installs apk's
on sd-ext. It means that applications are installed into an ext partition on the SDcard.
However, lib data of installed applications are still in phone memory.
If you use Titanium and Root Explorer, you will see that the sd-ext folder are full of your installed application.
This is NOT data2sd (which can quickly corrupt your data if your not careful) so "Internal Storage" is NOT equal to your ext partition storage.
What is sd-ext?
sd-ext is the mount point for the 2nd primary ext2/3/4 partition on the sdcard.
Do i need an sd ext partition?
YOU NEED TO PARTITION YOUR SD CARD IN ORDER TO GET APPS2SD WORKING!!
If you want more space on your NAND yes, it is very useful but it is still optional. There is no windows app to format in ext3/ext4, so download Gparted Live CD from here or use a linux virtual machine. There is a guide on how to do this here on XDA, CLICK ME!
But that looks complicated! How do I make a ext partition on my SD card using ClockWorkMod?
Boot into MAGLDR (Power On and HOLD the Power Button till MAGLDR options are shown)
Boot into option 9. AD Recovery to enter CWM Recovery Mode
Once in CWM choose advanced, then choose Partition SD card, then choose the size of the partition (Maximum of 1024M recommended)
The choose 0 for the swap and partition away.
Can Hyperdroid be installed after WP7?
Yes but you must repartition and format your sdcard into either one primary FAT 32 partition, or a primary FAT 32 followed by a primary EXT3 or EXT4 partition.
Can i install Hyperdroid after another Android NAND rom?
Yes but check you have the correct CMW recovery size (for HyperDroid 150 mb), do a full wipe (sd-card fat32; and use CMW to clear data, cache and dalvik cache)
What about battery life?
Battery drain is very low (2-5 ma for me in standby). If you want to have optimal battery standby options install Superpower from the market.
Does Bluetooth buttons and stock headset buttons work?
Yes they do, if they don't it's the app your using which is in cause.
Can you change the ____ I like how it looks better.
No I can't but YOU can. This is an OPEN SOURCE project. You are welcome to change anything about it.

1. Sense Re-Engineering
Recompiled all the apps and framework for lowest RAM consuming and highest performance
2. Merged DesireZ and DesireHD
mixed the advantage features from both DesireZ and DesireHD into one build.
3. RAM fs
after testing for a week, come into one best way to utilize the RAMfs, by default, one 16M RAMfs will be created for app and market cache.
once set to ram_data=1, additional 1 RAMfs will be created for most accessed dalvik cache.
4. totally re-write the SuperInit
fixed a lot of bugs inside and optimize it again, once set ram_data=1, the boot time should be within 1min, in next version, the boot time will be reduced again.
5. added a lot of usable functions into SuperInit
- extend the backup/restore to be able to backup &restore to different build.s
- added more repair_mode, to be able to repair the nand system and reset the system.
6. use own kernel
freak kernel v1.2 to perfect fit our builds. Source: http://www.linux4freak.com/gitweb
hence, 2 parameters were added to best control the kernel
vdd_mode= xxx //for under/over volting cpu, [-150,-125,-100,-75,-50,-25,+25,+50]
sched_mode= xxx // "cfq" or "bfq"

New features for superinit v4.4
Buildin with IMG/EXT4/RAM support
--- by default will create a 16M RAMfs and use it as app_cache and cache.
--- once set the ram_data=1, will move the dalvik-cache of framwork into RAM
--- to roll back to normal status, use the ram_data=11
-- Optimize the nand_data, which will also be able to move the dalvik-cache of framwork into Nand.
-- add new backup_img=2 to back apps from data, which is used for changing the build, the backup_img=1 will back up the whole data, once restore to a new base, will incur the UID inconsistent issue. should use restore_img=2 to restore.
-- add more function for repair_mode
-- repair_mode=1 will rescue the data partition.
-- repair_mode=2 can use the MAGLDR load system to repair the Nand system and mount the Nand system to /mnt/rescue
-- repair_mode=3 will reset the system, all the modified app, framework, lib, fonts that caused the issue will be removed, system will be reset to the origin without losing data and settings.
-- Auto detect the phone modal(EU or TMOUS)
--- for EU modal, will auto enable the data.img if the 2nd partition can not be found.
--- for TMOUS, if doesn't have 2nd partition and set the data_img=1, will auto bypass all the relative code to reduce the boot time.
-- Auto detect the boot mode (SD/MAGLDR/NAND)
--- auto select the best configuration for each boot mode
-- Auto partitioning the SDCard if set the format_ext4=9
-- Fixed a lot of bugs in previous version.
-- to best control kernel, added
vdd_mode= xxx //for under/over volting cpu, [-150,-125,-100,-75,-50,-25,+25,+50]

cautation :
1. this dynamic RAM build can only work on freak kernel v1.3d or later.
2. can not set ram_data=1 which will worsen the overall performance.
3. normally, the build can work out of the box without any config.
Thanks and ragards

no, no, it's just for us to test the new page, after finish, I will copy this to my thread.
Can I post my ideas here in this thread?
few notes for the first post.
what it's confusing it's the fact that you keep fixes and notes for older version..
well, for me, those are completely useless
new releases are there for solving bugs and problems of the old version
got a problem with 3.x?? update to 4.x. job done.
also some people could install old fixes them on the newer version, causing only problems
same story for the videos: they were great to show the build.
but as 4.x introduces a lots of improvements, the videos may not reflect the reality
WIP for second post:
now I need to do the links
let me know if you want something else.

I love it...that way I didn't updated from 3.4 till now.....
according to me it's the best kernel for the phone...also if sometime 3g and wifi data doesn't start to connect.....however I can't wait for testing it!
Greetings to all!
At attempt to change framework has caught cyclic reboot for ever.
Did all as it is recommended: has removed through rootexplorer framework.apk and has tried to insert new through Update_DL.
Has not worked. For me.

-Description-
MIUI BOZ Edition for Samsung Galaxy S devices is a modified version of the MIUI ROM. I aim to provide the most personal experience with MIUI. I hope you all enjoy this release of MIUI.

This version of MIUI also uses an exclusive kernel made by TK-Glitch to achieve insanely high overclocks. A standalone version of TK-Glitches less extreme kernel is available for download here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041532

Undervolt it. But first you need to set it so the CPU freq doesn't scale up and down. Check first page second post for an example with 1GHz.
Unfortunatly my SGS isn't capable of handling 1,54Ghz. Tried undervolting (perhaps it didn't like the 1.5volts).
Too bad 1,44Ghz is it's limit for mine.
Awesome job on the rom tho! Loving it uptill now

Did you give 1.5GHz a try? Most devices will go upto 1.5GHz.
Did you fix Radio FM?
I got big issue with data of my APS. I don't know why but MIUI mount partition /datadata to /data/data this is wrong becouse it's only 200MB... I got it full afte 60-70aps. Is it possible to change it? To fix it?
System get crush after it is full so the best idea is to unmount /datadata->/data/data and make /data/data like separate folder on /data partition. I hope you understand me.

I'm currently working on higher frequencies for V6A release. 1.5GHz could be added in next V6pre (update 3) if I get good results.
The V5X kernel used in this rom is truely extreme and especially the 1.5 and 1.54GHz steps. GPU is overclocked linearly to 250MHz for 1.5GHz and 257MHz for 1.54GHz along with the general bus speed. For most devices, 250MHz will be about the maximum useable. 257MHz will only work on a few devices, but it's very close to the hardware limits. With this bus speed increase, 1.54GHz is faster than 1.6GHz at stock bus.

General Development UPDATE
3/1/2011
I was porting Sense to our tab
and this is a basic representation of my tab for the last few days.
I wasnt paying attention to my battery levels, and got stuck in a bootloop.
Then the battery died.
Recovery doesnt charge it, download mode doesnt charge it and plugging it in sends it straight to recovery.
Battery is dead, no juice for download mode.
I believe it could be fixed, if it could be opened, and the battery yanked and charged then reinserted.
I am (knowing me) 100% sure if I did it myself, i'd break it.
so we/me am/are stuck in limbo ATM
The tmobile insurance premium is a bit beyond my reach,
and I dont even know if they would send me a new (different device) tab, or replace it; as they no longer carry the sgt7.

Install Instructions
Install Instructions
For Coming From Any Rom That isn't BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM7 (Teks)
(see below for those instructions)
As you all know, when switching from rom to rom, something called a safe stock re-partitioned is very much preferred, almost required. Even more so, when jumping from roms with different os bases, example is going from a 2.3 based rom to a 2.3.4 (or reverse).
You need to do this process to kinda bleach out anything that remains of the old rom, as many times these arent properly cleared through a recovery erase, and can leave behind bits and pieces that can, and frequently do, disrupt the next rom you try to run. This is never a good thing, as it can cause anything from a bootloop to mysterious ghost like behaviors. Not to mention many things many not work correctly in your new rom.
Team Overcome has created, or basically repacked a way to do this. Many thanks!!!!
TeamOvercome website HERE
1) Go to Overcomes website, and download a zip called: ROM | 001001-GB-Stock-Safe-v5
(this is the base, non branded 'official' release of Gingerbread from Samsung. Overcome has made a few modifications to this file, and added Odin, modems and Samsung SGT driver installer to the zip)
2) While at the Overcome site, also download a zip called: KERNEL | 002001-Overcome Kernel V3.3.1 (TAR)
(this is a kernel made by AB, with some nice work done to it. But what we need it for is to convert our system to ext4. It will not run BOCA)
3) Unzip the GB-Stock zip, and open it up.
4) Open SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86, and run it. This will reinstall, and clean up any old drivers for your tab.
5) plug in your tab when done, and let you computer fully install you SGT's drivers. Once its finished, unplug your tab.
6) Unplug any USB devices from your computer, & Open Odin3_v1.7, once it opens, plug your tab back in to your computer, in download mode.
Under ID:COM, a yellow window should now state your tabs is connected.
7) Place gt-p1000_mr.pit inside the PIT slot, PDA slot, place: GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar
8) Make sure Re-partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked, press start.
9) Once finished, and your tab has rebooted, press reset in Odin. On your tab, skip through all the setup options, and reboot into download mode.
10) Plug your tab back into your computer, and place: 002001-Overcome_Kernel_v3.3.1.tar into the PDA slot, and press start.
11) Let your tabs sexy robot voice convert your system, once done, boot into recovery, clear everything, go to zip installer, and choose BOCA from your SD card. Let install, and then reboot.
12) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.
13) Enjoy BOCA!!
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
(For when coming from BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM71) Boot into your current recovery and clear dalvic cache, cache and user data/factory reset
2) Go to zip installer and choose BOCA from your SD card
3) Boot into BOCA, and reboot again.
4) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.
Epic Win!!!!

Great job, congratulation and thanks!
Hi Diz!
I remember there was a problem with deleted pictures especially on German systems, is this still a possible glitch with this version?

Yes, sadly it is possible, since noone was ever able to figure out why it did it, especially why it happened only to German users.

No,
Just a ghost in the machine.
Hanging out in Germany, apparently.
Hopefully she's left in this release
I know teknomancer was having the same issues in his latest release, (we had a long talk about it on gtalk one night) - and both walked away stumped/confused
And this is a different newer cm RC 7.2 build.
It must have been some kind of cyanogen trickery, because we have different ports, but both mainly use cm files.
My other testers have specifically looked for that weirdness, and reported all clear.
I'm hoping my missing tester, arcelor will report in sometime, and let us know -that's the final all clear, as he is the one who first alerted me to it.
just a quick question. what or how does the status bar carousel works? this might be dumb question. honestly thats the only.feature of this rom i dont understand. lol.

Diz, I reported the disappearing photos issue back in August and its just done it again when tried RC1 and I'm a UK based user.
It also swapped the SD cards around such that int was ext and visa-versa!
I upgraded from #8 to RC1 following your instructions - back on #8 now as I couldn't fix the SD card issue.

What!
Damn it.
That really sucks
I honestly, and all I've asked, have no idea what's going on.
I can play with test 8 volds but...
I need full detailed description step by step, SD card maker, speed, size, comp os used, where tab was built. Exactly the steps taken to place fotos on card, were they there before and erased, or newly placed ones?
Step by step.
STEP BY STEP.
Not all tabs are created equal.
As this only happens to less than 1% of total users.
Arcelor reported that a free app in the market called:
Rescan media root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7646738
stops this whole nonsense.

SD Card: 32GB MicroSD HC, Speed 4
PC OS: Windows 7 64bit
Tab: GT-P1000 (not sure where it was built as it wasn't purchased new), FCC ID:A3LGTP1000
Photos were copied from PC to Tab via USB using drag'n'drop
They were they before upgrade
All the photos under the /mnt/sdcard/external_sd/Photos get deleted but not the folder structure or movie files.
To Upgrade to RC1:
Downloaded RC1 from Magrathea directly onto TAB
Rebooted TAB into recovery mode
Backed up using Nandroid
Wiped data/factory reset
Wiped Dalvik Cashe
Wiped Cache
Install zip from sdcard
Choose zip from internal sdard
selected download dir
selected BOCA+RC1_final+.zip
Confirmed Yes to install
Rebooted twice
Done!
I'm happy to try again or even install the 'Disable Media Scanner' and try again, just let me know as I'm happy to try and help eliminate this issue.

Installed today the Boca Rc1 Final and its avesome...
Fast as hell, very smooth and very stable today, and the most important for me it's that the battery is no draining fast.
Today at 14.00 when I booted the rom for the first time i was on 75% battery and now after the whole apps restored with Titanium and all wifi navigation on internet its' still on 61% battery.
Congratulations for this one...,very very good.

[ROM+Kernel] MiRaGe-CM7.2-IHO (07132013)

I have been building LG Optimus V ROMs from the CM/IHO repo and sharing my builds with the community in the IHO thread since some time. Besides the geek satisfaction, I build for removing some extras and customize for performance. Following the original IHO thread has become too difficult due to its enormous size and simultaneous discussion of many other builds. This thread is for sharing what I build for myself with the community, a place for receiving feedback, posting changes for my builds, and returning at least some of what I received from this community.
Please thank/donate to CM project, and especially the IHO developers, Blarf, Bob, Jerry, LeslieAnn, tdm, thekraven, and many others.
I prefer MiRaGe to be a barebones/basic ROM closely following CyanogenMod. The changes below are only aimed at enhancing the performance, fixing bugs, and slight touches on the interface without diverging from the original.
The followings are added:
Custom MiRaGe kernel compiled with gcc-4.6 linaro toolchain using -O2 optimization
ICS fonts for system and lockscreen clock,
ICS style battery, signal, wifi, sdcard, data icons for statusbar,
ICS icons for the power widgets, menu, and settings,
transparent notification background,
Android boot logo
Cyanbread_light: a tiny theme to replace the orange highlights with cyan/blue that matches with the recent Google Play apps (included in the ROM) (source code is here )
Unique bluetooth MAC addresses. Source code here
Baseband version in About Phone screen. Source code here
Bluetooth volume settings are not limited by voice dialer. Source code here
AGPS patch for better accuracy. Available here
Optional stock Android 2.3.5 Launcher2 available here
Simple IO scheduler in the kernel which has less overhead for the system and more suitable for flash memory
BFS 4.04 CPU scheduler for quicker user interface and better efficiency
TinyRCU Read-copy update (RCU) synchronization mechanism which improves scalability by allowing readers to execute concurrently with writers and reduces the system overhead.
Many bug/security fixes for ext2, ext3, ext4, fat, mmc file systems, sound system, block layer, bluetooth, networking, and ARM architecture backported from 2.6.32.59 kernel.
Computing network protocol sequence numbers and fragment IDs using MD5 instead of inaccurate MD4 in the kernel.
Backport staging android drivers and ashmem from lge msm7x27 kernel
Sluggish accelerometer problem is fixed in the kernel with updated sensor drivers from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel drivers
Improved Compass accuracy and response time with updated sensor drivers from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel drivers
Backported the updates and fixes in mach-msm/qdsp5 code from the 2.6.35.9 lge msm7x27 kernel to resolve phone freezing while playing music with Google Play Music app.
Updated the interactive CPU governor with the latest version and removed smartass and interactiveX governors that were derivatives of the old interactive governor in addition to userspace and powersave governors that are more suitable for desktop systems.
Added SLQB as the default memory allocator
use optimized strnlen, strncpy, and crc32 functions in ARM (thanks to faux123)
added KSM support in the kernel and dalvik-vm (reverted in 07302012 build for now)
default to hardware EGL libraries (adreno200) instead of using generic android EGL libraries (thanks to leolawliet)
kernel patched to fix entropy depleting
swtiched to Koush's Superuser
updated to the latest CM bootanimation
CYAN-1602 security fix merged (Android-8219321 security fix to Bluebox security bug)
The followings are removed: extra themes, CMwallpaper, FM radio, large ring tones, CM services, development app, and all languages except English(US) and Spanish.
Changelog for CM and MiRaGe kernel:
Detailed list of CyanogenMod 7 changes are here.
Complete list of my changes on the IHO kernel are here.

If you are just upgrading from the previous MiRaGe by wiping only cache/dalvik-cache, you can flash either patch right after ROM without rebooting. Otherwise, booting once before flashing the patch is necessary after /system wipe.

Suggestions & Recommendations:
- Link2SD is recommended. Learn how to use it and you will be rewarded. I have never had any kind of insufficient space problem with Link2SD. However, as soon as we root our phones and flash a custom ROM, we are now on the other side on our own. You will need to figure out how to find your way around and there are many different ways. Please find the good practices and methods that work for you and don't clutter the thread with insufficient space problems.
I use link2sd with 60 apps and it takes at most 5 minutes to update the ROM with the following way.
- copy the new zip to SDcard and boot into recovery
- wipe cache and dalvik-cache
- flash ROM
- reboot
- wait for link2sd warning for missing mount scripts
- run link2sd and recreate mount scripts (if you touch the link2sd notification from the pull down, link2sd will automatically open with mount scripts dialog)
- reboot
- run link2sd
-- relink dalvik-cache files
-- relink library files
- done!
And no application reinstalls necessary. There are many tricks/mods to link /data to the SD card. Whatever method we choose, there will be disadvantages and problems since OV does not have large internal storage as the other high-end phones do. The best practice is to sticking with one of the methods (I use and recommend Link2SD) and learning to deal with it. I don't want to use a method that is making the ROM dependent on the sdcard since not everybody has a large sdcard. Also, sdcards exhibit extremely wide variation of reliability and performance; mostly inferior to internal storage. If I link /data to sdext by default, people will be bringing here many complaints due to sdcard performance and failure. For my sanity, I will avoid that.
Additionally, if you have missing apps with Link2sd after the first boot following a ROM update, please check this post.
- Quickpic is recommended instead of default Gallery3D in the ROM. I will still keep Gallery3D in the ROM but you can just open the ROM zip file (don't unzip to your disk) with your archive manager (e.g. 7zip in Windows or file-roller in Ubuntu). Go to /system/app and delete Gallery3D.apk before flashing ROM. This is what I do. You don't need to reinstall Quickpic after your ROM updates unless you do a clean wipe.
- If you want an ICS theme, I recommend Achep's ICS theme. I must warn that there is some performance and battery life penalty that goes with such heavy themes. If you also want ICS icons in your launcher, I suggest kovdev's ICS launcher theme.
- The battery consumption is ~1.5% per hour on my OV running MiRaGe when I leave it over the night with data, wifi, location updates, email/calendar sync on and 0% TWS (see the screenshot below). Every phone is configured and used differently and the signal is different in different locations. If you have battery problems, it is not because of the ROM. Again, please don't clutter the thread with battery life problems.
- I don't recommend the Google Play Music app on the Market. The default Music app in the ROM works excellent without the heavy load on the system.
- My cpu settings that give me the best battery life is as follows. I recommend and use interactive governor which is a well-tested cpu governor developed by Google for Android. Just use the updated interactive governor in the latest kernel and choose the minimum CPU frequency as 122. This configuration gives better battery life and does not cause any extra lag. The smartass and interactiveX governors are derivatives of the interactive governor and I don't see any advantage of them over the default interactive governor. I will be removing those governors from the kernel for reducing the kernel size and eliminate unnecessary/idle code. Regarding the maximum CPU frequency, you need to find the maximum stable value by testing. 806 MHz is the maximum recommended value since anything higher increases heat and battery consumption considerably.
- Please check the followings before reporting WiFi problems. Nobody is making popcorn in the microwave, your neighbor or your kids are not hogging the WiFi watching Youtube or Netflix, your router is not a cheap junk, the fridge is not running near the router, your network provider is not having problems, the cat is not sleeping on the warmth of the router, the dog has not tipped the router's antennas, you are not trying to connect to your neighbor's WiFi ...
- If headphone is plugged in and unplugged before starting the camera app, camera records video without sound. There are ways to resolve this temporarily. If you do a quick reboot in Links2SD (it takes 15-20 seconds) camera records video with sound after that. If you disable the shutter sound in camera, this problem does not happen. Lastly, if you take a picture before recording video, the video is recorded with sound normally. I am looking into this and will post here when I can find a permanent solution.

This Is awesome updates will be so easy to follow what motivated you?
MiRaGe 06112012
I have updated the builds to include two fixes
- Fix occasional completely mute incoming call in Phone.apk
- Timestamp doesn't contain date info, therefore we need to construct it and adjust it if daylight savings applies in frameworks base
Please see the OP to find the download links. The details of the changes are in the CM code review site linked in the OP.
I'm onboard and flashing latest build now.
Could this be flashed over bobzhome version? Just thought I'd ask, was just going to attempt it.

I don't know, simply accumulation of many things I guess. Maybe, I could finally convince myself that there were enough contributions that are worth making a thread.

You can try with just wiping cache/dalvik-cache. If there are problems you can't resolve, (probably Launcher Pro in BobZ will conflict with ADW in MiRaGe), you can do a clean wipe and reflash. Don't forget a nandroid before doing anything.
Thanks mrg666, I hope to give it a try tomorrow nite.

Not InteractiveX?
Sent from my IHO phone
InteractiveX is just a derivative of interactive and I have not seen any advantage of locking the minimum cpu frequency when screen is off. Just the opposite, it creates more trouble.
I use and recommend interactive governor. Actually, I have just updated the interactive governor to the latest version today. You can download the latest kernel from my github repo. Just use the updated interactive governor in the latest kernel and choose the minimum CPU frequency as 122. It gives much better battery life and does not cause any extra lag.
Thanks for all your work, mrg666! I'll hit this up when I get home; my work's proxy doesn't allow access to github... apparently, it's "for hackers." ;-)
Kinda obvious, but I have subscribed to this.
I have never had a phone of any kind that has lasted more than 6 months. This LG670 has lasted over two years! And to boot I've used this 5 times more per day than any other phone! This is a great, not good, device. Ultra reliable. Efficient and effective. Two plus years... still just like new!
And to think I've been running MiRaGe more than any other ROM. I have flashed hundreds! But this has always been my favorite!
Thank you mrg! Glad you're still on board with the LG670 CULT!

Ok I flashed this right over Bobzhome. No problems to report so far. And then just made ADW launcher default(not sure if that was necessary). Point is it works.
As far as performance if any, remains to be seen, question will be is if battery drain will be not as quick.
edit: issues with updating apps, says theres insufficient storage, plenty remains, must have some something to do with how bobzhome uses apps2sd vs method used in your rom(haven't done much investigation yet)??? But no problem running apps that were previously install in rom before the install.
I have uploaded the 06142012 build of the kernel.
- Fixed the sluggish accelerometer problem
- Fixed inaccurate/slow Compass
- Updated the interactive governor
See the OP for the links to download from my github repo.
Maybe I'm missing something, but the OP is still sending me to the 06-11 build. The github repo has this same build as well. :/

This is a kernel update not ROM. Go here to get the flashable zip.
