Whenever i install a new rom + do a full wipe, i need to redo the android setup.
It asks if i want google to backup my phone on their servers so i can switch phones/roms with no downtime.
The only issue is that it doesnt sync my apps that i have installed recently. It also syncs apps that i have removed a long time ago.
IS there a way to update that? Im sick and tired of uninstalling the same apps all the time.
Resync it manually. That seems to work for me. You have to MAKE IT do what you want it to do sometimes

Hey guys, I can't get my Google Calendar to SYNC at all with CM6?
I think it actually used to sync fine and after one nightly I manually applied the Market fix, Facebook sync fix, and Froyo audio decoder 'fix' and ever since that day I have not been able to sync my google calendar at all (on CM6 only).
Even after re flashing to a stock 2.2 Rom (to try it out) and re flashing to the latest CM6 nightly I still cannot sync calendar (and yes I wiped). I wonder if there is something on my SD card or something that google is trying to restore (from backup) that is causing this.
My hunch was that hacked facebook.apk that is needed to sync on CM6 is causing the google calendar sync issue. But even after removing facebook all together that did not solve the issue.
At this point I am stuck because even after a freash flash of CM6 Calendar still does not sync.
My calendar syncs just fine with the latest nightly of CM6.. I've never had a problem with it and I have been using the nightly builds since they were started a few weeks back.
Go to Menu -> Settings -> Accounts and sync settings -> 'Your Google Account
Is 'Sync Calendar' checked? Check it if it is not and then hit Menu -> Sync Now

If it were that easy I would not have posted here. I have already tried that. My calendar used to ssync just fine. Not sure what I did. but now I cannot get it to sync at all even after flashing a new version of CM6.
That leads me to beleive there is a problem with my google account maybe or something is remaining around on my phone after a wipe.
I would think the latter is more likely because I can sync my calendar just fine on the stock 2.2 froyo or on older eclair roms.

Hmm.. What recovery do you use to wipe with? Maybe try updating/switching recovery versions to alleviate the wiping issue. Wipe data.. Wipe cache.. Wipe dalvik.. Even wipe SD after backing it up to PC if you truly want to start from scratch!
Hello,
my apps used to sync with Google servers, so I didn't need to care about backing nor restoring them with dedicated apps.
But after last reset, my apps did not restore... though the options in Privacy were checked, as usual.
So, is there a mean to force it manually, or am I ****ed ?

i'm sorry i can't help you, but can you tell me HOW DID YOU MANAGE TO SYNC YOUR APPS with google dervers in the first place????
Hi everyone
For the last few ROM's I have installed I have always had the "pleasure" of seeing all the bloatware that I had downloaded on the last ROM instantly come back onto this, rendering the new flash basically useless.
I know of the thing where you have to uncheck that box when you sign into Google, but it no longer works. All apps come back as usual.
Is there a way of somehow deleting Googles record of the apps I have installed? Or some other workaround?
Thanks
Flash an aosp rom, install at least an app, than reflash the rom you favour. I don't know any other way, sorry.

IIRC titanium backup has an option to remove links from the market. If you long press on the offending app and select "Disconnect from Market".
I hope it will work for you.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Will try those next time I flash.
I found that market apps only download automatically if you sign into your google account on the first boot before you can use the phone, like when you choose your wifi, service provider, language etc. If you just skip the google account login part here, and login later, such as when you first open the market, the apps won't download automatically (although your gmail and contacts will then start to sync). Not sure if it's just me, but this seems to be the case for me everytime.
I downloaded this rom for my phone. Everything seemed to work fine but when I added my Google account it started installing/updating apps that are installed on my tablet (which is running ICS).
Is there anyway for the Google account to recognize it as a phone and install the apps that were on the phone? I never had this issue before but could I be right in assuming because the phone was running gingerbread before and the tablet was running honeycomb? I don't want to have to make separate accounts because then I would have to purchase apps twice. Right?
Thanks for the help

Well Google Restore has always been present although it usually works across like android versions. The only way to have this not occur is to flash a rom, skip sign in, and then go into Settings/Privacy and uncheck both options for "Backup My Settings." I haven't tried an ICS rom so idk if the settings are moved around at all. This works for GB and froyo roms BUT the caveat is that no apps will reinstall upon signing into your Gmail account. It's an all or nothing deal for what you are describing.

Depends, you can have multiple accounts on the same phone and sign in with whichever you prefer. In the aspect where you sign into a new account only, yes you would have to purchase the paid apps again.
Hi guys,
I'm sure there is a simple fix for this, but I've been searching all over the internet(s) and can't seem to fix the problem. I flashed Liquid JB a few days ago, and other than this sync issue, everything has been going well. From what I've gathered, this is an issue linked to restoring Google information through Titanium, instead of letting the phone sync on its own.
If this is simply "factory reset and begin anew," or flash a different ROM, that's okay with me; however, I'm just curious as to why I can't enable auto-sync on either my Google account or my FB account.
Am I on the right track? Any one have information on what's going on?
I think it's more likely a ROM issue. I've tried some ROMs where it works and some where it hasn't

Make sure you flashed the gaaps package. I've never used liquid but there have been a few times where I've been wtf I have no contact info and I had forgot to flash the gaaps. You can just flash them at your current state right now it won't harm anything.
As far as fb goes I use haxsync to link fb to my contacts so I'm not sure on that one.

Before doing a factory reset I would try wiping days from Google Services Framework and from the Play Store. Reboot, then sign back in to the Play Store...
