I have this buddy that took his EVO with a broken charge port in to Sprint yesterday. He already had one with a blown speaker and Sprint made him pay the $100 deductible and gave him a refurb. They would not fix or replace his phone under warranty for some reason and tried to make him pay another $100 deductible to replace a completely unusable phone. I work with the guy and told him I would bring in a battery charger for him to use until he got Sprint to fix it and when I went to give it to him this morning he said that when he was told he would have to pay a $100 deductible he terminated his contract on the spot, paid the ETF and went to Verizon and got the Iphone 4.
I personally would not have gotten the Iphone, but he is happy with it. He doesn't know much about phones and I rooted has Evo for him and put CM7 on it. He was really liking CM7 but Sprint pushed him over the edge. I have had some bad experiences with Sprint customer service, but it was never bad enough to pay the ETF and go elsewhere. All carriers have their problems. There is a local company here called Cincinnati Bell and honestly it is the only carrier that I have heard all good things about, but they don't discount their phones like the big companies do and they are quite expensive for a smartphone. Anyway, enough with my ramble.
Would you give up your EVO for the Iphone4?
I would have waited and tried to get kicked off Sprint by using a lot of data and by then maybe the Iphone 5 would be out, or some cool new Android phone. I think he was fed up with Android too though. This guy is a computer wiz, but when it comes to phone he is in the dark, so the Iphone is probably good for him, because of its simplicity.
I broke my contract with AT&T to get the EVO.. I have no regrets.. i probably wouldn't get another iphone because i enjoy the freedom!
In one clear concise word: No.
I enjoy my freedom, customization, and the ability to pull my battery when I please.

lol That's why. Warranty is voided once you root it.
To answer your question: No, I would not trade my Evo for an iPhone. I especially wouldn't pay a $200 ETF, then go buy another phone because of something that is my fault when a $100 deductible would have fixed my problem. I think you should have better informed your friend about what he getting into when you rooted his phone. Too late now, I guess.
You probably should have unrooted it when turning it back in... (you'll see why)
Honestly, I have absolutely no complaints with Sprint customer service. In fact, they're fantastic. They are VERY kind and not hesitant to get me a new phone when it's needed (I went through like 4 razors..and only paid for the first). On that line, if you give them a Rooted phone and say "help" they will still probably help you (and I know from experience they have). But, if they send in a rooted phone/phone that's voided its warranty for a fix or replacement they have to pay for it out of their pocket. That's why he wouldn't replace it for free, because it would have cost him money. Trust me, the Sprint Rep was not being a d-bag, he was trying to keep his job and not pay a fine for doing something dumb. Most of them don't care that you're rooted...promise.
Nope. 1 EVO worth 2.5 Iphones LOL

Sir...we're in a recession, so the ratio is clearly 1 to 7.
I WILL switch if Sprint doesn't bring 4G to my area and 3G doesn't get better.
I'm always playing with peoples iphones trying various things and I have to say .. visually.. there is no comparison.. with the mod options alone it's a hell no.. plus i can put their cute little iphone inside my screen as if it swallow it whole.. Sprint customer service is as spotty as anywhere else though. One person wouldn't work with me.. called back and the lady would of did anything to save me as a customer. She even gave me $100 credit instead of waiting for the $100 rebate. It was awesome. I'm with sprint for the long hall unless something drastic changes
In a word..

Ask this question in the iPhone forums and see what answer you get.
The people who have Evo(or Android for that matter) have them for a reason. Before I got the Evo I went back and forth between phones, service providers and plan costs. I actually switched to Sprint from T-Mobile because the Spring plans were untouchable. I probably would have went with the iPhone if they had better prices and their data didn't have a cap(even though I knew I would probably never go over).
I am truly happy that I got the Evo because I get to do so much with it. I normally keep phones for two years and then switch. As long as the Evo makes it to a point where 4g is working on a rom I will probably use this phone until it crumbles in my hand. At that point I will pay the $100 insurance fee and get a brand new phone.

I'm pretty sure that those would go together. If you know about computers then you know about apple's overpriced and over-simplified products. I kind of understand why he was pissed and canceled and went over to VZ BUT it does not justify getting the derphone especially if your friend knows a lot about computers.
I don't think your friend was really pissed at sprint.. your friend was waiting for a little push to get out of the closet and get the derphone.

Well to be honest I'm considering goin to vzw in april/may when the iphone 5 comes out or the htc thunderbolt (i actually do luv android more)if they dont limit the use of 4g. I keep hearing and seeing articles about how sprint may have messed up on using Wimax/Clearwire for 4g, and they might sign over to LTE. It is pissing me off because 3g is ok not better than my friends with VZW also I hate not being able to use my phone and data at the same time. I live in Detroit where I have no Idea when we are getting 4g. I love my Evo alot, but the lack of data connection and 4g makes me feel like i'm getting ripped off.
I;m very serious and I have the sero plan so I only pay 60 bucks a month.
Sorry I'm venting I know LOL
That means switching to Att and dealing with their HORRIBLE customer service, data caps, and spotty coverage, I pity him. I'm sure they didn't fix his phone because they saw he was rooted running cm7, that alone voids the warranty. You should have unrootedand then taken it in,I'm sure they would have fixed the phone no questions asked. Don't blame sprint for your mistakes. Oops! Every rom thread says running a custom immediately voids your warranty, you were warned.
I have no problem with Sprint. You can have a bad experience like that with any cell company.
And Verizon is no saint for sure, I have them for FIOS and they are sharks.
That said, I'd take an iPhone on Sprint any day over an Android.
As long as I could still Tether for Free even if that meant jail breaking iPhone. But my understanding Jail Breaking iPhones have more negatives than rooting Android phones. So that would be my only issue. iPhone isn't perfect either.
Sometimes I wonder if the insurance is worth it on Sprint where it's a bit of crap shoot in what you get back and it cost $100.00 for each use.
I like Apple but love Linux more so Android it is.
Doubtful. I have an iPod Touch and I think I would go nuts if that was my only phone. It would cost me a good deal more per month as well so I don't think I would trade for an iPhone.
Evo is actually the first phone in a while that I'm not itching to upgrade after my year is up. Might save my cash this summer and put it toward a tablet.

It really does work, it just puts you in contact with someone who wants to take over your contract. You don't have to go through them once you have someone to take it over, it can all be done through sprint.
But wait a moment. If you sell your cellphone like the HTC Evo for 500 on Ebay you can cancel for 200 bucks and still get 300 bucks extra minus Ebay fees and such but you get 250 still so yeah. Thats silly.
Yes this website does work, I used it to get onto someone's sero plan. Also sprint annually makes changes to their contract sometime after new years. Which allows you to get out off contract
Contract transfers are very common. Go on Craigslist and see how many people are trying to get somebody to take over their Clearwire account. That's how I got out of my contract with that joke of a service provider.

And what good is your Evo without a contract? Can use it on any one else's service can you? Verizon is different frequency? (or will it work?) But they are pricey anyway.
Dang I should have sold my unlimited AT&T account!!! I actually joked about that cause it was a great idea and whomever would not have had to do the limited plans. (with 1500 rollovers too!!!)

Unless you know somebody at Verizon that can get you in, they won't activate it. Some people say you can use some of the smaller providers, but that will vary. But, hey, you can use it for everything else besides phone and data. Like... camera?

Good to know, thanks mrono, curious what contract terms you selected, were you able to get deeper discounts as a Get In member or does Sprint verify any discount eligibility post transfer?
I did it with US Cellular, actually the salesman suggested it. I transferred my account to my baby mamas name and she got to use my phone ( she wanted my blackberry but didn't want to pay for one) it was a win win for me.
I have a free way:
Found this out by accident with at&t and recently did it twice more through verizon. Look at their coverage map ahead of time and find an area a good distance away that has zero coverage. Find a street in the town where the void is located. Get your story straight ahead of time. The first time I really did move into a spot that had no coverage. The other times I wanted out I just made up an excuse that I was moving due to work. Ask them if there is coverage. They will check and tell you no. Act disappointed and ask what your options are then. They will let you close your account with no ETF. Downside is you won't be able to port over your number though.
this site has been around for a while so it's definitely legit. There are usually a number of SERO accounts up on it. Only downside is you lose your number if you care about that. Sometimes it seems like I'm the only one attached to my cell phone number.
I was thinking of doing this to move from AT&T to T-Mobile but I wasn't sure what would happen to the contracts on the 3 lines of my family plan. I was told that I could transfer each line on my family plan separately to 3 different people.
The AT&T rep told me that after I transfered my accounts, each person taking over the line would have a month-to-month with no contract and could cancel at any time without paying an ETF. This sounded completely wrong to me so I called back later and a different rep told me the same thing.
I was sure the person taking over my account would be committed to the remainder of my original contract. Does it make any sense to anyone that they'd be able to cancel immediately without paying an ETF? Could it have something to do with how long I've been with AT&T or that I have a business premiere account?
Thanks,
Alan
P.S. Oops, sorry I just realized I posted this in a forum for a phone that's not on AT&T. Would still appreciate any info anyone has, thanks.

Hey Everybody
I am writing in regards to my experience with Sprint's "cutting edge" Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch phone. Let me tell you all, it has been nothing short of disappointing. Here's why...
I "upgraded" the phone from Sprint's old flagship: the HTC Evo 4G. This was the first 4g phone to ever hit the US... and I was onboard. See, I have been a Sprint customer for years now. I have always believed that Dan Hesse was starting to turn things around at the company. So, naturally, when I saw this Epic Touch and its AMOLED display, I was enticed to renew my contract. Only problem is that Sprint decided to do away with their Preferred Rewards program. So I was no longer eligible for an upgrade. I would have to wait an extra 6 months. But lo, a Sprint rep at customer service suggested that I "buy out" my current contract for a mere $40 so I can upgrade my phone. In addition, they would credit me $40 on my next bill for being a loyal customer.
So you see what Sprint did here? They eliminated their customer rewards program and still made me happy with being able to upgrade my phone. Apparently they removed the program to increase profitability. There is nothing wrong with a company trying to turn their first quarterly profit in years, right?
Fast forward a few months down the road. I did upgrade my phone... but only after being backdoored by Sprint. You see, that $40 credit they threw on my bill automatically extended my contract out another 2 years. I bought my contract up with the option to upgrade, but now I was basically forced to upgrade as Sprint extended my contract for 2 years without telling me they were doing so. Their response, "Well your contract would have been extended when you decided to upgrade your phone anyway." This is true, but the fact of the matter is I was not informed that this $40 was actually a front to extend my contract two years so I was essentially locked in already at that point in time. To me, that is, for lack of a better word, shady.
So now I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch. Wow, that's a long name for a phone. Anyway, long story short, is that this phone FAILS in multiple areas in comparison to the old HTC Evo 4G I had before. What areas does it fail in? Cell reception, call quality, data reception, roaming, tower acquisition. Simply put, this Epic Touch FAILS to lock on to towers and transfer data.
I have had the phone a few months now, and this is the best comparison I can make. You remember the mid 90's and those old Packard Bell computers that started to pop up in houses across America? Well they often came with a Dial-Up modem that often failed to connect when dialing up to the server. You know the sound that modem would make, you could tell when you were actually going to get a connection. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. That's just how it was. And when it did connect, you better just have patience when you tried to use browse the web.
Well that is EXACTLY how this phone is. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And if you decide to use ANY data whatsoever, you better have some damn patience when doing it.
Turns out for me when the new wore off and I got past the blazing processor and the awesome display, I decided to return it because it just couldn't perform. Only one problem... I was out of town for my job and I was already on day 30 of my initial month. And now I am stuck with this slick flat screen that doubles as an old Packard Bell paperweight.
Calls into customer service, PRL updates, prayers to God, they have not helped. And I venture to say that exchanging it for another unit at the store that sold me my phone is out of the question. And I will take a wild guess and say that a trip to my local Sprint repair center will not help either.
So if the above fails, where am I at? I am stuck with a brand new $200 Slick Packard Bell Paperweight.
Do any of you have any suggestions on what your course of action would be? Should the following be my philosophy from here on out?
Business is business. And it is what it is. Sprint, if you fail me I am going to bring out the big guns. I am going to attempt to continuously stream so much data on roaming towers that you will cancel my contract on YOUR end. I will do whatever it takes to make my contract unprofitable for your company. I will hack my phone, I will load Ice Cream Sandwich, I will edit my PRL, I will load programs that FORCE me to roam. Fix it, or I will.
Disgruntled customer.

As far as signal lock and speeds and such..... what rom/modem/kernel combo are you using? Because for me, the speeds stock experience left quite a bit to be desired. Even compared to my wife's Conquer(a much lower spec phone.) I have been installing the ICS leaked modems, while still running a GB based rom(Strongsteve's ODEX, very awesome.) I have seen quite a bit of improvement in data speeds and such. So if you haven't rooted and tried out some of the things you can do, you should give it a try.
is all about the iPhone last year i get a called from sprint, saying that they have a special offer for me since I have been with sprint for a long time, and i have no more contract on two of my lines they give 100 dollars in credit, and the option of getting a new phone whenever i want, on december i bought the epic and was a nightmare long story short i spoke with a supervisor and told me that after they got the iPhone everything changed, no more rebates, special offers and sorry that happened to me but there is nothing he can do, i have sign another two year contract to get the phone, not even the the 75 dollars for the year i was already in. so yeah i sign another contract to get the phone.

If you had another six months left in your previous contract, then it sounds like the $40 was simply an early upgrade charge. That would explain the extended contract. I can't imagine a contract termination fee being only $40...

Out of everything you said in that long drawn out post, the bolded sentence above is the only thing they truly care about.
Sell your phone and go get an EVO again. You can find em for about $100 or less.
Wow. I am impressed. Most trolls don't take the time to compose such a long rant. Usually "Sprint Sucks!" or "Iphones Rule". Please just take your old phone out of the drawer and reactivate it.
Without going into modems/roms, location issues, sprints service, the possibility that you got a bunk phone itself (hardware fault, Sprint should replace), or other possibilities...
I can say, coming from the Evo4G as well, I have had None of the issues you mentioned. Not once. Great cell service, great data. Great phone.
(not trolling, quite serious. and I am anal about data speed service, and making sure I'm getting what I pay for.)

This.
Just this.
I'm running Blazer ROM 4.0, everything works perfect. Besides everyone knows that HTC's radios are pretty damn good. Also I had the Evo the day it came out and it had it's own list of problems as well. I know I had waited for some updates to fix things on that phone as well. If you think Sprint did something shady, the BBB is a good tool that will get response, corporate Sprint doesn't like negative remarks....
Just got off the phone with Sprint tech support again... did another factory reset... no help. reset msl did a prl update no help.
They scheduled a visit with tech support in a sprint store to see if something is wrong with the phone. If they find something wrong they will swap it out for 40 bucks... keep in mind this is a brand new phone I bought 3 months ago... and I have to pay to get it swapped out and they will give me a refurbished one. If they don't find anything wrong I am screwed.
I called Samsung they said that the only warranty they have to provide is me send the phone in. If they find something wrong they will fix it and send the same phone back to me.
I think it's pretty safe to say I will try and get a refurbished one from the sprint store and sell it on ebay.
Otherwise I will try to push through as much data as possible... which might be tough because data is so slow on this phone... so that the carrier will choose to cancel our contract.
**** SPRINT.

Well first off verizon is literally twice as expensive then sprint. So you really screwed the pooch on that. Second is verizon doesnt have WiMax And they use a different CDMA Freq as well. So you could talk and text but you wont have any data. And the other issue your gonna run into to is the 4 major carriers started communicating device IMEI and sprint will lock the device IMEI for non payment so you will have a worthless paperweight.

no reason why you can't use it on verizon... just won't have lte. 3g should work fine.

I think everyone is missing something here... Yes you can flash the ET4G to work on Boost or Cricket, there are plenty of threads on how to do it.
But as the OP posted... He owes Sprint $1400 dollars!!!
I'm betting his ESN has been locked by Sprint already. If I'm not wrong that would pretty much render his device and any other device connected to that account unless.
Best bet may be to put your device on Craigslist as a parts phone and use the cash to get something on Cricket or Boost. They've been releasing so ok devices lately.

Sigh please don't post if you don't know what you are talking about..
This device CAN be flashed to Verizon or almost any other CDMA a carrier, even if the esn has been disabled by sprint. If he does want to flash it to Verizon it would be very easy to get 3g working. Just need to pull the AAA key from the donor phone.
I personally would suggest flashing to boost mobile or if you want to be on Verizon's network and you use 1gb of data or less a month I would flash it to page plus $50 plan (pre paid on Verizon network). For what ever carrier you choose you will need to buy a phone and activate it to use it as a donor phone.

Boost doesn't require all that.... just persistence. I've done it on sprint branded phones myself with no problem. You wont have wimax service though. Just keep calling back and ask them to activate your phone. They're on the same sprint network anyways. The statement earlier about Verizon using a different cdma band is wrong, Verizon uses the same bands for cdma as sprint so voice and 3g will work fine (who do you think we roam on anyways?) but the lte bands are different even if you had sprint lte phone (which you don't). The only way to get a sprint phone on Verizon is quite illegal and requires a donor phone. But their service is way higher ... your best bet is to just go with boost so you can keep your existing device, have cheaper service, and not break the law.
Ive actually talked to sprint about selling my phone to a friend or giving it to a family member , i asked them about the esn number and they said that it can be used, i didnt ask the proceedure.
but well were basically going to have to use the droid bionic pro for a bit till samsung comes out with a good phone on verizon until i can get this mess straight with sprint.
I do like the idea of using boost or virgin

I do not get all of the Verizon hate, it isn't all that much more expensive anymore than Sprint. The only thing Sprint has going for it right now is Unlimited Data. Unlimited Mobile to Mobile is already offered by other carriers. And with the whole Unlimited Data at dialup speeds over 3G? .
Yea, Verizon does try to charge you for retarded things, but so does Sprint! Half the reps at Sprint do not explain fees associated with upgrading/new line of service, so unless you know your stuff... you may get shafted too. Not to mention, did we forget about Premier Fiasco? Or BTA fiasco? Or yearly upgrades? Or Upgrade fees going up big time? Or TEP going up on newer phones? Or how Wimax was an empty promise? Or how LTE is only going to be in select markets in 2012-2013? Or other major issues they've been having lately?
We should start a class action suit on Sprint, for charging the extra $10 for 4G LTE phones, and if it's not available in your area... Sprint shouldn't be charging the extra $10 until they deliver, cause there charging us for something there not giving us. I just want my $10 back for every month I've paid the extra fee for LTE, up until they deliver it. Who's with me!? Do the math, it adds up....

This has been discussed ad nauseum. The $10 is a premium not for the data, rather just for simply having a smart phone.
Sprint customers have been paying this fee for a long time. Long before they were even talking about LTE.

You're basically paying for Sprint to build out their network. I wouldn't be surprised if they eliminate unlimited data once they are done rolling out LTE.
Hah! I remember this crybaby argument back when I had an EVO! It's a data fee, not a 4G fee. If you don't like it, feel free to drop your unlimited data and switch to another carrier.

Ok soo to get this straight.
The $10.00 fee was originally labeled as a WIMAX 4G fee only for 4G phones.
Then people got all up in arms about not having wimax 4g coverage and still getting charged the fee.
So Sprint got smart and said let's make some money and re-label it as a "premium data" fee. And now it's charge to all phones that sprint considers high data use phones aka most smart phones.
OP I can give you a box of tissues to cry in if you'd like?

Funny, their network is still sh*t because they simply don't invest into improving the 3G part of it. Yes, yes I know all about Network Vision. I signed a contract with them 2 years ago, and at the time they were calling it a "4G wimax" fee, many months after the contract start date, they started calling it a "premium data fee". Well, they didn't have 4G wimax in my area when I signed the contract, even though it's a major city where both AT&T and Verizon now have LTE, and seeing how things are going, Sprint eventually decided that wimax was a losing and obsolete technology so now they've decided to switch to 4G LTE, guess what, we're never gonna get wimax where we are now, and it'll probably be another 2 yrs before they might even get close to having LTE here. So that means waiting another 2 yrs to get the "premium data"? Meanwhile, now that they're trying to fund their LTE installation, somehow their CDMA 3G has got even worse than before, to the point that I barely even get a continuous data connection, my voice calls often say "network busy" or shows roaming, and data speeds average about 100 kbps when they used to consistently be about 700 kbps when I signed up for the contract. Needless to say, I got fed up and switched to Verizon. However, I agree with this post, why should i have to pay the 4G additional fee only for them to realize they could get sued and change the name of it to "premium data fee", only to figure out that they picked the wrong version of 4G so I have to wait another 2 yrs, and during the process not only not get "premium data", but now not ANY data? I already paid for it for 2 yrs, and where did that get me? I agree, they should return people's extra $10 if they failed to improve their service during this entire time, and if you switch due to their non-existent data and voice service, they should also void your ETF becuase it is their fault. I never wanted to go to Verizon, so why should I have paid the extra $10/month only to have to switch carriers now?
How does it go to proceed with suing them?

The $10 fee has nothing to do with 4G / LTE though, so what would the class action suit be over? Its basically just a fee that they charge on devices they think use more data, has nothing to do with 4G.

When they first started charging it with the release of the original EVO I was very upset because I could never get WiMax to work anywhere. But after all the other carriers just discontinued unlimited data I think the extra $10 charge is well worth it to subsidize my heavy internet usage

Sprint wants 100 bucks to buy out my remaining 2 months. Seriously now 100 bucks for 2 months. By my calculation its 14 and some change if you go by 350 etf divided by 24 months. Then on top of that I was told I have to give them my E4GT. Sprint has lost their damn minds............
Told them I am going to check out verizon. Sorry but 100 bucks + my E4GT + 250 S4 is not a good deal. Now add to this Sprint is charging 50 more bucks for the S4 than what everyone else is charging. For 250 bucks at verizon I also get the car adapter and case. With sprint you get nothing.

$100 is the minimum it doesn't get any lower. Once you hit 6 months remaining the proration stops. And paying your prorated ETF you DO NOT have to turn in your phone. The rep you talked to was an idiot and didn't know what they were doing. The only time they can request you return the device is when they let you out ETF free. The ETF is to cover the subsidy on the device.

Agreed. What they likely meant (but did NOT communicate well) is that you CAN bring in the phone for them to buy back. Currently I think the E4GT gets about $75 bucks. Perhaps that can be applied at the same time? Seems that would make sense, since at the end of the the contract you would technically fully own it, thus not needing to pay the $100 fee, and then you'd get the full $75 for the phone. In this case, you have the $100 ETF penalty, but perhaps you can still get $75 for the phone to offset that (making it only ~$25 that you owe?)

I'm not sure it even gets $75 sprints only giving out $106 for the SIII. BestBuy is offering $262 for the SIII so if I was gonna do a buyback I'd go with bestbuy and use the money towards the new device. Plus if you mention the $50 gift card for upgrading with them thats an additional $50 towards the new device so you'd end up paying between $100 and $150 for ths SIV depending on the buy back price for the SII maybe less if the buy back is over $100.

Anyway's I had to break the contract. I have to fork out close to 400 bucks. I was with them for less then a year. Oh well... Have to pay it. So basically I should pay and probably get it flash to cricket. Or just burn it. I paid close to 200 dollars when I went to get this phone.

FYI, Cricket is a Sprint MVNO (ie - they use Sprint's network). Flashing to them isn't gonna solve anything coverage-wise. Same for Virgin, Ting and Boost.

I do remember that I switch from verizon to cricket and speed and reliability was there and coverage but that was on a droid x also cricket I was getting over 1mb connection. S2 epic touch on sprint oh boy. So what should I do? I guess sell it. I love my s2 with the new ota jelly bean my phone flies. But I did saw on wiki that cricket have their own network but places where there no cricket network it would use sprint and other network. I'm pissed off. I wish I made more research. Now I know what to get. Here there is dozen of att tower and many tmobile tower. I think I'll go with tmobile. This is frustrating because it's now a paperweight phone.
The issue I had is now corrected with Sprint. Now while sprints coverage and data rates can be lacking, sprint however did work with me and today I am all hooked up, bought out the remaining 2 months and got the S4 for $219.
I will give Sprint kodos and a BZ for still wanting to work with me after my bad atitude yesterday.
Yes me having to give them my old S2 was a mistake and to make a long story short it was just bad communications on both parts. Again its all good now and i will have my new S4 on Monday WoooooHooooooo

I is thinking. Buying S4 no contract. U are stuck with contract for how long? Anyways I think phone is 600+ I would get sim card version of tmobile and use
straight talk using t mobile tower for 45 bucks? I don't tether i have a super fast isp at home I can tether to my note tablet but wont use much data. But I'm
still thinking but sprint no way I'll would stay with them they only have one tower in Fresno ca. In Fresno there is dozen of att tower and many tmobile tower. Both on 4g but not Sprint. So I'll get 4g straight talk using tmobile. By passing proxy they wont know I'm tethering . But if I can afford I'll be on tmobile unlimited 70 bucks 4g unlimited. I guess no throttle. Straight talk do throttle infact kick people off if using up to much data. How is you're S4? There is a 8 core wow. Too but more expensive and it's not what sprint or any carrier offer in USA.

I like my S2 but I cant flash to other carrier they all using Sprint here Fresno. Boost, cricket, virgin. It's not even LTE? I love my phone. Very smooth with Jelly Bean. Time for new phone.
I will get my new shinny off the show room floor S4 next week. Cant wait to play
T-Mobil is a no go, no service here where I live ( according to their website )
Verizion is just to damn expensive, 40 dollars per month access fee on top of the plan fee LOL version is high alright
Sprint has 3 towers here were I live ( home town ) so Im good with service but data is sucking. I use my home internet for my data needs so I am set in that regard. What I have found is that Sprint voice and txt is good but data can be improved upon.
If I used data like a hog OTA then verizon would be a better choice but more expensive. Other wise Sprint is the better choice for me.
I will still keep my S2 E4GT and use it as a backup just incase or as a music player or to do youtube or something ( wifi ). Damn I cant wait until I get my grubby hands on the S4

Yea dude. I had not issue where there is coverage. Sprint is probably the best phone when there is bit low bars. But Data speed sucks. And they are
very slow on putting up 4g tower. In fact it would cost them putting tower. Many companies would already have 3g tower all they do is upgrade their network but sprint it would cost soo much because they have to put up tower and plus new network so. Sprint when there is coverage it works. They need more tower here and move on with 4g here. God don't you love you're S2? It's a epic touch 4g right?

I have a bone to pick with these statements. People always say that using a sprint MVNO would be no different but have you guys ever done a 3G test with a Sprint phone vs a Boost phone? Well I did and let me tell you the cheap boost phone demolished my E4GT! It was .20mbps on my Sprint phone vs 1.20 on the boost phone.
