Erm... PVT5? Is this right. If it is then this needs to be cracked. Maybe you were suppose to hit 4 instead of 5. Please check again.

What would you like me to try . I have tried unrevoked 5 times. On different OS's . Xp win 7 .
And my bad I put 5 instead of 4 lol sorry

You need to use AmonRA as the CWM that comes with unrEVOked doesn't work with PVT4 phones - read the sticky in this forum about it

ok i have tried that with Unrevoked 3.3.2. i get a force close on the desire screen when it tried the Root. I am using the AmonRA 2.0 recovey.
Perviously i used Unrevoked to root with out custom Img. i have CWM on there. Would this cause any issues .
Should i flash the stock recovery ?

which guide did u use?
i used this one. i don't remember what version of unrevoked i used, but probably the one linked in that guide. i had no problems rooting my device, which seems to be the same like yours.
i had CWM on my desire before, but switched to amonra, cuz i found partitioning sd-cards more difficult in CWM.

i'm using windows7. i think XP should do it as well.
do you have the usb drivers installed that come with htc sync e.g. (you should remove htc sync if you have it installed. follow the guide i posted above).

Using windows 7 . ok i have faloowed that giude its the same as what i have done in the past . When unrevoked . Still get the Force close on the app trying to Root

let me get this clear, u rooted ur desire with unrevoked, ok?
did u flash any new rom? or u just using the stock htc sense?

hmm.. weird.. sounds to me like a problem with unrevoked (i'm not that experienced, since i just rooted an s-offed my device).
did u try other unrevoked version? did u run unrevoked by rightclicking and "run as administrator"?

[Q] My desire Z became G2 t-mobile , help!

Hey,
As the title says above my Htc desire z , became g2 t-mobile.
This happened because my camera gives weird rainbow colors so i wanted to send it back to HTC but in order to have my warranty i'll have to unroot it.
So what i did is , follow a unrooting guide from google. which said unrooting for desire z/g2 t-mobile but it turned out that it made me install a G2 t-mobile stock rom , while i need to get sense stock on my phone.
Can anyone help me to return back to stock sense?
The stock i have now atm is the G2 t-mobile 1.19 version

Can you exactly tell me which method i need to root it? , i rooted it before with the rage method PC10IMG.zip 1.34 , and isn't gfree included in it?
btw once i rooted this phone back then i couldn't load PC10IMG.zip files because he wont find them , so i turned it back again to G2 , so probably the bootloader is G2 now or something because he wont recognise PC10IMG.zip files anymore the htc sense stock ones.

So why my HBOOT says its a BRAVO huh? I know its a desire because the name on the box, hboot and working roms of desire. IS IT POSSIBLE TO RE-ROOT AND S-OFF BY UPGRADING THE HBOOT TO THE GOOD VERSION?
From personal experience on a Desire, messing with the HBoot can have a chance of bricking the device. I got stuck where I could only enter commands through fastboot and adb, then tried everything possible to get it back to no avail.

If not, could you explain this sentence "Evertime i try to make that live cd with MagicIso my dvd rom opens up" a little more (what exactly do you do?), please? Because I do not understand it.

No but i remember having to run through unrevoked again after flashing an RUU. Possibly to add root/SU app again as i think the RUU i used removed the super user ninja app. But Revolutionary stayed on the HBOOT screen. And unrevoked took like 2 mins to complete

No, at the end it will ask you if you want to root your phone as well, not a big deal

My friend had 2.3.5 gingebread with sense 3.0 and downgraded to 2.3.3 with sense 2.1 .He used the advanced ace hack tool for all this.it said root , s-off and then rebooted and then it stayed at the htc logo from then.
Reboot the phone into recovery (battery pull, hold volume up + power). Then mount the sd card from CWM & copy a ROM over. Do a full wipe (data, cache, Dalvik) and install the ROM, you should be able to get it working again

That is why u are stuck...you are still S-ON...now you know that it is always better to check before doing something.
Anyway, you are not bricked, half bricked, soft bricked or anything bricked at all..you are just stuck.
You have two choices:
If you didn't factory reset the phone (that will erase the usb drivers from it) you can just plug the phone from the splash screen and run the hack kit to have the job done
Find a RUU for your phone, flash it and when the device is fully functional then re run the Hack Kit
Both will let you with a fully working phone. I would choose the second one just to make sure that everything is working...hope it helps.
i wasn't the one that used the tool so no drivers are installed on my computer...it was also factory reset.
Where can i find a RUU for the dhd?

yep .. desire s appears on video but as you can read in the memo associated in the same youtube page it works even on "HTC Desire, HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire, HTC Aria, HTC Incredible S, HTC Droid Incredible 2, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Evo 4G, HTC View, HTV Flyer, HTC Sensation, HTC Evo 3D and the myTouch 4G" (the memo contains also text of all procedure ..
I think is interesting for the bad_boys question, first is a all-in-one procedure to SOFF, Recovery acquisition and Root, after becouse to root a Desire already on GB require a more complicate procedure respect a froyo based one.
Revolutionary does not root your phone a jmclue said. It uses temp root (I believe) to gain s-off and flash a custom recovery.
The easiest way to obtain root after using revolutionary is to flash an already rooted custom rom.
If you want to root your current rom I think there is a zip file you can flash to do this.
I personally rooted my desire and flashed recovery using an older version of unrevoked (I think it was 3.21). I s-off'ed using alpharev some months later. It is not necessary to be s-off to flash custom roms. If you can get it to work I personally think it is easier to use unrevoked as it is a one click solution. Read all the guides before attempting this however.

I also used unrevoked 3.21 .. but I'm not sure that it works on 2.3.3 (as - it seems - Revolutionary does) .. naturally another way is to come back on froyo.
Yes revolutionary is for 0.93.0001 & 1.02.0001 hboots and is very very simple and straight foward to use

S-off has nothing to do with android version on your phone or with root. Everything depends on your hboot version.
Revolutionary does the job with 0.93 and 1.02 hboot, for older versions of hboots Alpharev Reflash Utility should be used.
The problem with Unrevoked is that it cannot bypass never hboots to flash superuser to system.

which way should i go plz help me for easiest way thank u
imo jmcclue has given the right advice and dont do anything else. You can find detailed instructions in the guide he has referred to but the overall picture is like this:-
- Use revolutionary from revolutionary.io to get SOFF. As part of this process you will also get a custom recovery.
- Flash root package from revolutionary.io if you want to get root on current rom else choose a custom rom and flash from recovery.
Thats all
