I tried to flash the only pre-rooted 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947481
I was s-off before I flashed this and still am after obviously. The first time I flashed it, it worked no problem. I forgot to back a few apps up, so I formated and restored a nandroid back to 2.1 - still no problems.
I get the data I need and format again, then flash the rom from above. It gets stuck at the white HTC screen every time. I have waited for over 25 minutes and it never does anything. I have made sure to format boot, system, data, cache each time and it won't work.
I have clockwork 2.5.0.9 - I am just sick right now that I'm never going to get this working.
I have also tried a second sdcard with no luck.
I have tried both roms on that page (radio included and radio not included)
Please help... anyone???
Ok..............
so maybe all it takes is a post on xda to fix it!
Just to try something different, after a failed attempt to flash the rom, I went into clockwork and only formated data/factory clear, and then flashed the rom. It worked now! Can someone at least explain what I was doing wrong?
I feel like a noob but coming from the EVO (desire is my GFs phone) I format boot, system, etc before I flash any rom.
As per my first post in that thread, a FULL wipe is needed before flashing the ROM
I had been doing a full wipe before each and every time. It seems like manually wiping each partition one by one doesn't really do anything. I'm not used to clockwork as I run a different recovery on my EVO.
I'm still unsure what happened, and why it worked this time. When it did finally work, I didn't wipe the boot and system partitions before flashing the rom. ???
Am I able to flash a newer clockwork on this bravoC ?

Been flashing roms all day to figure out what's going on.
I'm currently back to a stock 2.2 rom odexed running clockwork recover.
Trying to flash to Virus' new rom. In attempts to flash the rom, I get stuck on the white htc evo 4g screen. I've wiped the dalvik cache, battery stats, cache, factory reset in that order before installing the rom.
I have no problems flashing other roms, I don't know what the issue is. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks for any help.

I have no experience with this ROM, but you may want to try RA Recovery. I personally have never had a problem with clockwork, but many say they have. I might also be a damaged copy of the ROM. In that case check the md5 sum to see. Hope this helps.

When I did my first root/ROM-flash a few days ago, I was stuck on an infinite bootloop with Fresh Evo because I didn't properly unlock my NAND via Toastch's Part 2 root instructions. If this is your first custom ROM, try re-doing Part 2, which is the full NAND unlock (with the new PC36IMG.zip file).

Turns out that I didn't have full nand unlock, didn't know there was a partial lol... Say that because I've flashed at least a dozen rom/kernel/mod setups with clockwork Mod with no problems.
I went through and did the full nand unlock and switched to amon ra recovery and that solved my problems.
virus' rom is a beast you guys should check it out.
Anyway thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

ive searched around everywhere and i still havent found and answer. i rooted my phone today using unrvoked, i made a nandroid back-up, and then i flashed EVERVOLV gingerbread rom. Now my phone gets stuck at the white htc screen. i tried reverting back to my nandroid back up but when i did that, it still gets stuck.
can anyone help ?
Try flashing a sense based rom

Did u wipe? Make sure you do a full wipe, then wipe cache and dalvik. After doing this flash your rom of choice again.
i think it is cwm recovery. try flashing amon_ra. even better, use the fix broken recovery in the bottom of zikronix's root thread.
I recently moved to CM7 and S-OFF. I used the alpha-rev method and flashed the CM7 hboot
Seeing the new Leedroid GB rom, I figured I'd give it a try. So I did a full backup, wiped everything, flashed the stock Hboot from Alpha-rev website, then flashed the Leedroid rom and... BOOTLOOP.
I then tried version 2.4, and same thing.
Following this I flashed Redux, which was nice but slow and I was able to confirm that I had 148 Mb of internal memory...
I then redownloaded Leedroid 3.0.5, thinking my file was perhaps corrupt, and still nothing...
I even tried restoring an my old CoolSenseHD 9 nandroid, which passed the splash screen, but looped at the boot screen.
Any ideas??
I had a similar problem. Go into CWM and format system, data and cache.
Well I'm on Ra-desire-v2.0.0 recovery, and when I do full wipe, it formats everything... something I've done about 10 times in the past 2 hours...
Any other ideas? Is RA somehow incompatible with sense? Should I switch to CWM with fastboot?
EDIT: I've managed to get a stock rooted rom to work... So why not LeeDroid???
i think your recovery is outdated, this can cause bootloops, something to do with your recovery version not able to handle new updater-script.
so update your recovery, you dont have to remove current one, just get the fake-flash.zip of any new recovery (clockworkmod 3.0.2.7) put it on ur sdcard, then in AmonRa select to flash the fake-flash.zip file and it should boot up CWM. then wipe all and flash the ROM.
other than that make sure you have correct partiton layout on ur sd (ext needed ofc) and obviously, correct hboot table.
I tried flashing the latest CWM, then wiping everything and flashing leedroid, but no luck. Then I tried putting AmonRA recovery back, and I tried once more, but still no luck. Then I tried flashing the latest Gingerbread MIUI, and that worked like a charm....
So that rules out my recovery being outdated, and I did flash the latest Radio, so that's good too... I really can't pinpoint the issue, but regardless, I'm really liking MIUI, so that's good I guess.
And as for partitioning, my SD card had a 500MB EXT3 partition for Leedroid, as specified on his page, and my partition table was set to Stock Bravo. I reflashed that Hboot about 4 times just to make sure...

As I said, I had this exact problem and solved it by formatting system in CWM. I could flash certain Roms like redux but not leedroid.
AmonRA does not have an option to format system, just wipe which is different.
But even with CWM, I couldn't do it...
I'm guessing it's because the boot.img is too big in the leedroid GB rom, and you have corrupted blocks which limit the allowable size or something. I have that problem with my Desire with certain roms.. which really sucks. Maybe it's because we have Telus branded Desire's lol....
Well I don't believe the Telus Desire is branded (no telus bloatware like other phones, no logo or anything)... I mean I never had to make a gold card, and I haven't been on stock since december...
I just find it wierd that I used to be able to run Froyo leedroid (version 2.3d), but now that I try and flash 2.4 (also froyo) or 3.0 (GB) I have no luck
Have you tried using the RUU to get stock ROM, use Unrevoked and then get the LeeDroid version you wanted?
Are you trying to load htc sense roms on cw7 hboot? Of course it won't work, there is not enough space for the rom.
^If you read my posts, you would know that I have not been using the CM7 HBoot, but the stock Hboot, which is why I was able to load a stock rooted sense rom.
The thing is, I'm afraid to use and RUU because Telus didn't modify their roms in anyway, so carrier RUUs don't exist, yet the phone is locked to Telus... I haven't created a gold-card yet because I haven't had to, yet I feel as though an RUU can jeopardize all of this.
First let me say...its been awhile since I have posted here, I love the auto search based on the title of a post lol. That is awesome. Needless to say I didn't find anything related to my issue...
Here we go,
I have had my phone rooted forever and a day. I have only ever used fresh roms since It's been rooted. ( about a week after launch ) The issue popped up about a few months or so ago with one of his updates. No matter how i tried to download or install it would always bootloop. I have done the full data, dalvic, cache wipes and got the same results. I figured *f* it and just went back to my nandroid of the old version and forgot about it.
There have been several releases that I have tried from fresh that did the same thing. I figured tonight I would try the synergy rom for something new and to see if my phone would take it. I was using clockwork mod for my recovery. I did a nandroid of my phone and away I went.
I flashed amon_ra since that is synergy's recovery of choice and went through the whole process.
3 hours later...here I am with a phone still stuck in a bootloop when i try the rom and now I learned for some reason that amon_ra nandroid restore is not compatiable with the ones from clockwork that i have on my phone. *quick edit* I have also tried downloading several other roms, and am having the same issues.....even tried redownloading the same roms several times thinking it was a corrupt download or something.
There was one restore available that took me back to what seems to be an unrooted phone. I still have access to the recovery and am able to flash roms, but all the sprint crap is back and I don;t have superuser on the phone anymore.
So there is my story. I am an old hand at flashing and know how to wipe and all that before installing and i seem stuck to use this OG sprint crap for the rest of my contract, unless one of you wonderful phone guru's can point me in the right direction.

There's a thread here with the SU 3.0
install that, go to menu in the app, make sure that permission is toggled on

Maybe try a superwipe script or wipe everything like boot and all except SD card

+1
I usually wipe everything 3 times in Amon then a superwipe zip after that.
Gotta be clean
YEah, do a wipe of everything except SDCard: and Battery stats, if you're not fully charged. Wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache a few times each. I don't use superwipes myself, but anyhow, after that, flash a stock ROM. Make a nandroid of it, if your phone boots up fine.
Then go back, wipe everything again and flash the ROM you want to use.
I really want to thank all of you that have taken the time to post some ideas here for me, but as of right now I have had no love from my phone with any of them.
It will flash a radio just fine, flash wimax fine as well, but no love for the ROMS.
Anymore ideas out there??
I have had Cyanogenmod 7 for some time now, but ever since yesterday it is stuck on the Cyanogenmod boot screen and does nothing. I can get into Clockworkmod Recovery, but I am scared to do anything past that for fear of messing something up. Do you all know something I could try to get my phone back working (It is an HTC Inspire on AT&T)
Thanks

Do you remember anything that happened/changed between when it was working and when it wasn't? S-ON or S-OFF?
Since you can get into CWM, I would just flash a new ROM. In fact, I would first dirty flash the same ROM over the one you've got first to see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work, clean flash a different ROM.

What's the easiest way of going about this, I haven't ever done anything past the initial root and flash
Just put the ROM to be flashed on the SD card, it's a zip - and then choose to "install from zip" and navigate to it in Recovery. You could find a superwipe .zip file - which cleans all caches etc - on this forum, and that will give you the assurance that your phone is squeaky clean for when you flash the ROM zip file.
Just make sure your phone is - preferably - fully charged. The only thing that can go wrong is the battery running out while flashing .
If for whatever reason it still doesn't get past the bootloop, re-flash or try flashing a different ROM.
There are plenty of really good ROMs for the HD in the ROM sub-forum, for a rock-solid alternative, look at the Android Revolution ROMs.

Download the ROM (make sure it's the exact same version as the one you first flashed) onto your computer. Get the ROM onto your phone, either by using an sdcard adapter or by booting into CWM and mounting the sdcard on the computer. In CWM, wipe cache and dalvik, then install the ROM zip. Reboot. (If you're S-ON, say so; there are a couple extra steps.)
If that doesn't work, do it again with a different ROM. Also, instead of wiping only cache and dalvik, also wipe system and data. You will lose all your installed apps and saved data.
Sorry, but I can't give exact step-by-step CWM instructions because I don't use CWM.
So all I did was reflash the exact same file that I already had on my SD card, and that worked. Cleared the data/caches and I'm back online. Thanks for the help.
