Now my phone gets stuck at the white htc screen. i tried reverting back to my nandroid back up but when i did that, it still gets stuck.
can anyone help ?
Try flashing a sense based rom
Sent from my gingerbread evo 4g
Did u wipe? Make sure you do a full wipe, then wipe cache and dalvik. After doing this flash your rom of choice again.
i think it is cwm recovery. try flashing amon_ra. even better, use the fix broken recovery in the bottom of zikronix's root thread.

Been flashing roms all day to figure out what's going on.
I'm currently back to a stock 2.2 rom odexed running clockwork recover.
Trying to flash to Virus' new rom. In attempts to flash the rom, I get stuck on the white htc evo 4g screen. I've wiped the dalvik cache, battery stats, cache, factory reset in that order before installing the rom.
I have no problems flashing other roms, I don't know what the issue is. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks for any help.

I have no experience with this ROM, but you may want to try RA Recovery. I personally have never had a problem with clockwork, but many say they have. I might also be a damaged copy of the ROM. In that case check the md5 sum to see. Hope this helps.

When I did my first root/ROM-flash a few days ago, I was stuck on an infinite bootloop with Fresh Evo because I didn't properly unlock my NAND via Toastch's Part 2 root instructions. If this is your first custom ROM, try re-doing Part 2, which is the full NAND unlock (with the new PC36IMG.zip file).

Turns out that I didn't have full nand unlock, didn't know there was a partial lol... Say that because I've flashed at least a dozen rom/kernel/mod setups with clockwork Mod with no problems.
I went through and did the full nand unlock and switched to amon ra recovery and that solved my problems.
virus' rom is a beast you guys should check it out.
Anyway thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

i have an evo that i rooted... and flashed clockworkmod.. newest.. then i tryied installing a sense HD Rom but it just installs the boot splash screen and after the animation its just a lit black screen... so i decided to flash RA recovery from Rom manager and i forgot to nand back up.. i flashed echoHD Rom and same thing it just booted the animation and thats it.. it dosnt load the Rom.. my main problem is that im trying to go back to stock because i forgot to backup.. but i dont know which pc36img.zip file to get... my phone is S-OFF, 2.10, android 2.2, and some 3.6 or 3.7 thing.. and version 003.. please help.. some one direct me to the .zip download to flash from recovery to go back to stock.. at least from there i can either root again if i loose it or install rom manager and restore from my previous restores.. oh yea.. i forgot to mention that.. i have 2 restore saved in my SD but from clockworkmod recovery.. and dont work when trying to restore with RA.. please help...
i downloaded this .zip... withh this one work?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=791019
yeah you can't go from clockwork to amon ra, and use the same backups. you have to download rom manager again and flash back to CW then you can boot into recovery and you'll be able to access your backups. As far as un-rooting, once you are rooted you should be good, have you tried wiping all data and formatting your cache before flashing? if not that may be a good place to start, once rooted as long as you can access your recovery, i would just move forward and find a good Rom that works well with your device. I run MIUI .1.21.2 with 1.6 cfs sbc kernel and it runs amazing on my 003 hardware device
thanks... well i managed to recover flashing that .zip and im now restoring to the one i had saved from clockworkmod... soo im very happr.. i was scared out of my life...
now about those roms... ive triedflashing as i said the sense HD roms but no luck.. what could be the problem.. are there any out there that will work for my type of devive with these new updates...?
i dont really like the muiu rom.. im obsessed with the sense HD type that has the skins and stuff like that.. i hope when the thunderbolt from verizon comes out .. since its cdma someone will port its sense HD to the evo..
What happens when you flash those specific ROMs? Tried changing around your kernel/radio combination? Sometimes it takes a little tweaking to get it running stable.
As far as boot sticking on the boot animation, you have to wipe data and dalvik-cache before installing
I tried to flash the only pre-rooted 2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947481
I was s-off before I flashed this and still am after obviously. The first time I flashed it, it worked no problem. I forgot to back a few apps up, so I formated and restored a nandroid back to 2.1 - still no problems.
I get the data I need and format again, then flash the rom from above. It gets stuck at the white HTC screen every time. I have waited for over 25 minutes and it never does anything. I have made sure to format boot, system, data, cache each time and it won't work.
I have clockwork 2.5.0.9 - I am just sick right now that I'm never going to get this working.
I have also tried a second sdcard with no luck.
I have tried both roms on that page (radio included and radio not included)
Please help... anyone???
Ok..............
so maybe all it takes is a post on xda to fix it!
Just to try something different, after a failed attempt to flash the rom, I went into clockwork and only formated data/factory clear, and then flashed the rom. It worked now! Can someone at least explain what I was doing wrong?
I feel like a noob but coming from the EVO (desire is my GFs phone) I format boot, system, etc before I flash any rom.
As per my first post in that thread, a FULL wipe is needed before flashing the ROM
I had been doing a full wipe before each and every time. It seems like manually wiping each partition one by one doesn't really do anything. I'm not used to clockwork as I run a different recovery on my EVO.
I'm still unsure what happened, and why it worked this time. When it did finally work, I didn't wipe the boot and system partitions before flashing the rom. ???
Am I able to flash a newer clockwork on this bravoC ?
I was running Starburst v1.9 and saw a thread on Themes & Apps with ICS transitions. I downloaded both just in case (ICS Transitions & Revert back to stock). I went into Root Explorer and checked my Clockwork/Backup and saw that I had a backup in there. I booted into Recovery and flashed the theme transitions for ICS zip and thus problem began.
I then went to restore to restore the backup and it seems like that file was corrupted because it wouldn't restore. I ended up flashing the revert zip file and wiping my rom. It doesn't boot but I can still get into recovery. I believe that the issue is that the theme was made for the v1.9.5 and I had v1.9 of Starburst.
I was messing around with it and I was able to boot back in and click on the Android to set it up. After a while the phone will go crazy and the screen will flicker on and off. The buttons at the bottom became useless. How can I recover from this.
** I used my friend's Sensation and downloaded v.1.9.5 and threw it on my SD. I booted into Recovery and flashed the ROM and it still won't boot up. Any suggestions? **
The phone booting up I think was a luck of the draw thing. Since then the phone has not been able to boot into the actual ROM. I've been without a phone since yesterday and I'm planning on going into the Sprint store and getting it swapped.
Did you wipe system, data, cache, and dalvik?
THEN reflash the rom?
Yes. I was a flashaholic on my Evo.
I notice another thread in q&a with people the same issue as mines. I'm lost and haven't had my phone working for two days now.
Here's what I did:
Delete system, wipe factory reset, cache and dalvik, flashed ROM.
Could it be kernel related? I'm confused. I have a wedding tomorrow and this couldn't have happened at a worse time. Coincidentally something happened on my At&t dumb phone so I'm phoneless.
stupid suggestion...is your battery low?
with the evo it would see corrupted if the battery was low. may not apply, but hey its a shot.
if you cant figure out, theres always Odin to cure your issues
ReDL the ROM and reflash. Try mounting USB storage while in recovery. Alternatively, Odin the stock .tar for a full refresh.
If you've already retired reflashing I'd go with odin back to stock

here is the link for a format all then you can try and flash a rom again if you like. If not I would do like previously suggested and flash return to stock in Odin- link here

Awesome. The wedding made me forget about my phone but now that it's over I'm missing it.
I will flash to stock and re-root.

So I did a simple reboot from CM7 and suddenly I get a boot loop. I then go into Clockwork recovery and try to fix permissions or do a factory reset, but it just reboots mid process. I'm scared of restoring my NAND backup because I fear that it will reboot in the middle and make things worse...
What am I supposed to do?
I managed to wipe the cache partition, but it didn't do any good. I guess I should use Odin, but I'm not sure how? What do I need to flash using Odin and how?
yes, use Odin and flash back the stock ROM, links on INDEX sticky
then try again to flash CM7 or whatever favourite ROM
To flash using Odin do I just use the same process for rooting? But instead of flashing Clockwork I'm flashing a ROM?

Thanks. I'm gonna try this and report back.
I flashed the stock ROM using Odin, but now it looping on the green android rocket animation. I get the animation, then the glowing Samsung logo for a while and then it repeats the rocket animation...
What now??
I Rebooted to recovery and wiped data and cache and it booted to the home screen!!
That was soooo nerve wrecking! That'll teach me not to mess with alpha builds... Thanks alot AllGamer!!!
So now I'm completely stock and unrooted right? I'll need to to reroot and reinstall clockwork to restore a backup?
yup, just use any of the easy to root method, and flash CWR + any ROM you like
Yea, I flashed CWR back and restored my pre CM7 backup.
I can't be sure that it was CM7 that caused this, but really all I did was reboot my phone...
I guess it's back to waiting for a stable CM7. If we'll even get one... If not then it's an even longer waiting period to CM9.
