[Q] No autorotate with Incredibly Re-Engineered ROM? - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone else found that "Autorotate" doesn't? When enabled, my email opens landscape even when I am holding portrait and it doesn't rotate at all. When disabled, it open into portrait, and of course doesn't rotate.
Any fixes?

Running this same ROM. Haven't had a problem. Are you using the gmail app or the HTC mail app

haven't had any problems with auto rotate.
Other than I hate it.
But while I forgot I had it on it worked everytime.
Then I turned the bastard off and I again

GingerVillain + LauncherPro

Hey guys,
I'm having problems with the autorotation option in LauncherPro when using it combined with GingerVillain rom. Anyone having troubles with this too?
When I select autorotate in both phone and LauncherPro setting the screen is always in landscape mode. When I only select autorotate in the general phone settings the screen doesn't autorotate anymore at all.
This is very annoying, so any solution would be more than welcome!!
Odd, I have the same setup and mine works fine?
I use the power widget auto rotate control, when off as expected nothing happens, when on its working fine ...
My Autorotation in the LP menu is set to on.
Hey,
The problem stopped when I relaunched LauncherPro, weird. All fine now!

[Q] Auto rotate in landscape as default when opening apps

Wondering if anyone can help out with this - for some reason my DHD has started opening all apps in landscape by default. I can't work out how to fix this. Auto rotate is on, so not sure what's causing it.
Cheers

CM7 Landscape Lockscreen

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's experienced this, especially because there was a post about this 2 months ago ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827657 ), but has anyone figured this out? Seems like sometimes I get a lockscreen formatted in a landscape mode, but normally I get itas the portrait mode.
No idea how to recreate the event, it seems to happen SOMETIMES when the screen locks as I'm using it in landscape mode, but then it quickly reverts back to portrait before I can do anything about it.
Any one have thoughts how to enable this every time?
Thanks!
I too have experienced this. I think it cause the lockscreen is actually created when you turn off your screen. Sent you are in landscape when you turn off the lock screen is created in landscape. When you turn on your phone it realize that the lockscreen should be in portrait. And recreates it.
Its configured that way from the lockscreen Java code. Its set to sense an orientation that isn't set by the rotation sensor. I'm not sure why it is set like that except for they only want landscape with a keyboard.
Sent from my Incredible using Tapatalk
I would love to see this implemented in CM7

Question Auto rotate bug?

My P6 Pro is doesn't always auto rotate (it is enabled in QS) I'm rooted (Magisk 24.3), and am on April's FW. I am using Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57. The other bug I have is: I have home screen folders with 8+ shortcut Icons inside. When I am in portrait mode, I can swipe up to scroll through the folder's icons, but when the phone is in landscape mode - the folders are not scrollable. only the first 6 icons are viewable Is this just me or anyone else with Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57 can try this?
EDIT... Nova settings--> folder--> window-->immersive. fixed the folder scroll issue
but still have the auto rotate issue
I'm using Nova Launcher Prime v7.0.57, and one of my folders on my home screen (technically in my dock) that I have set to open the folder when I swipe up on works perfectly for me in landscape and portrait including scrolling to get to the additional items in the folder. Tried rebooting?
Edit: Disregard about the folder - I see you found the cause.
Regarding auto-rotate, I think my auto-rotate has been better than it used to be. It mostly affects me when I'm using Google Reader and it didn't always rotate in a timely manner - but I also haven't been reading lately. Rotating on images or videos have always been fine that I recall.
The auto rotate on my P6P is messing up sometimes too, but I'm on completely stock and unrooted. Fully update to date as well.
Sometimes when I rotate my phone into landscape mode it doesn't change, even if I wait a while, so then I rotate it back to portrait mode to try again but as I'm rotating it back to portrait mode it then momentarily DOES switch to landscape mode for a half second and then back into portrait mode since I'm now holding it in portrait mode.
Doesn't work when playing back videos for me.

To add to what I said previously, you could long-press the auto-rotate Quick Setting tile, and if it's enabled by default, which I think it is, then you can disable "Face Detection", which is supposed to make it a smarter auto-rotate in case you're looking at the phone from a weird angle so that it only rotates when it makes sense to.
I turned that off some time ago although I may turn it back on eventually to see if it improved.
