Myn's Warm Z - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been running Myn's RLS5 until his Warm Z release and must say this is where its at.... I have customized the battery and signal icons shown in screenshot...

Hey the Rom is very nice but Wat kernel is u running cuz my Damn battery is thrash I need help on a battery kwrnwl.

The signal icon is sick! How'd you do it?

I am running "SBC-bcnice-stable-v8.zip" kernel and get great battery life. I used this same kernel when I was on Myn's RLS5...

I replaced the icons found in "com.htc.resources.apk & framework-res.apk"...

voicemail
is anyone having a issue with the voicemail notification appearing even when you have no pending voicemails? I have tried the fix found in the rom forum however i'm still receiving the notification

Did you try to reboot the phone after the fix?

Yes, i have tried rebooting and even going through the fix again and still receive the voicemail notification.

Never having been on warm z, but from basic knowledge and experience, backing up, and re-flashing the rom could fix the problem.

I was thinking the same so that is what I did.. I even went as far and to re-flash the rom and applying the fix and i get the same results.. not sure what is going on except for the fix is not playing nice..

What is the "fix" for this issue in the rom? If all else fails, try using google voice for voicemail. No problems for me on CM7, and I say that cuz google voice solves a lot of issues with voicemail.

here is the link that was posted "http://romrepo.info/wiki/index.php?t...sual_Voicemail" which is was i have done a couple of times.. I have tried google voice and still receive the voicemail notification.. not sure what else to try..

Still looking through it, but that page seems not to be for the Evo...

I'm kind of new at this, but do know enough to screw things up pretty bad. The way that your signal icon is exactly what I'm looking for with my configuration, did you change out the 'apk' with a different one?

Here ya go I've personally done this tutorial and it does work! Plus sprint reps are aware of the issue so they will understand. Goodluck
P.S. I know it seems like alot of work but it's worth it! If you dont take care of it, it will never go away.
thanks bro, i'll check it out now. work or not its worth it those notifications bug!!
It'll work but it took me about 45 mins over the phone with them. Hopefully it'll be quicker for you. Enjoy your phantom notification free phone!
I havent done it yet, no older non android phone, plus i went back to warm rls5, warm Z was a little laggy on my phone, and i dont get the vm not. on rls5 but when i themed it (rls5) with one of riptides themes it had the vm notifications, weird huh?

I use warm rls5, good stuff! Maybe if you goto a corporate store they could help you do the swap to a temp phone or something. Worth a shot. Yes thats strange it appears when you theme it but as said earlier only way to get rid of it is follow the steps. Or until someone figures out a better way.

[Q] Phone not answering calls, dismisses/ignores when trying to answer

(Info: currently running Myn's Synergy with Godmode and the Chop Suey 0.7 kernel, at least I'm pretty sure that's the version.)
The title sums it up -- I can't answer phone calls from my phone. Whenever I get a call, I get my phone out of my pocket, and then move the little phone icon to the circle (sense 3.0 lock screen), and then the phone dismisses the call. Sometimes it does so before I even get to touch the phone icon.
It also takes far longer than usual before it will let me call back, like it's not responding. I can get into the phone application, then I hit the number to call them back, and nothing will happen for like 30-45 seconds, then it will finally call.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions on fixes?
It's happened on-and-off since I started using Gingerbread ROMs, but recently it's been far more regular. I haven't been able to actually answer a phone call in almost a week.
I've never seen an issue like this.
You may want to try re-flashing your ROM/Kernel.
After wiping everything, that usually clears up "odd" issues.
[Not to sound insulting] have you restarted your phone since this issue started?

I'm going to try flashing the non-Godmode Synergy ROM. It seems to be happening more on this one than on others in the past.

I have, yes.

[Q] Dialer Sensor Usage

I've seen a similar post to this way back in the day when I first rooted my phone, but since then have been unable to relocate said post, so I'll just post here as I've noticed this to be a constant problem, perhaps GB related.
Days where I don't make any phone calls I get decent battery life, about 1% every 2 hours and that's listening to music. But god forbid I have to make a phone call because then Dialer remains on consuming my sensor in spare parts. I've disabled just about everything in call settings related to sensors and even tried turning my BT on as I read it might fix it, no dice. The only way to fix atm is to restart or perform a hot reboot.
Anybody else experiencing this or have found a fix? Currently running Decks 1.3d and thinking of going back to a Sense rom cuz I never dealt with this crap before I tried AOSP, even though I love and prefer AOSP over Sense.

I would look for the topic about wake lock, there is a possible fix in there if I remember right. Also could try to reflash decks, I've never had a problem.

I agree with the guy above me, you should check the thread of whatever ROM your using as well, and for a quick fix you could always just push the Power/Screen Lock button

Cyanogen 7.2 Ringtones and notifications not working

So i installed 7.2.0RC1 on my desire and it worked perfectly for 2 days but i've noticed this morning that when im getting calls or messages the phone isn't making a noise and notifying me of this.
I checked that I wasnt accidently on silent and I wasnt, so checked volumes, all ok, and then I decided to look at the ringtones and select a different one and where each one is supposed to give you a little preview of the tone im getting nothing.
Im really at a loss, has anyone else had this problem or knows how to solve it, its handy being made aware when someones trying to contact me
I had this on the nightly prior to the RC1. Reboot and the ringtones should be back but you have to re-assign them I think.. and yeah it will probably happen again.

Tried rebooting and still nothing off previews or anything, its just kinda weird for a RC for this to happen, might have to go back down to 7.1.0 until the bugs are ironed out, thank god for nandroid.
Still might have a solution pop up here before i get round to doing that
Did you modify the rom? Change or remove ringtone files you don't need?
Even I had same problem various times. Rebooting solves the issue everytime.
I didn't modify the rom at all and rebooting doesnt solve it, come to think about it, its happening since i used a pair of headphones for the first time
Do you use any Bluetooth headset? Usually when I use mine it happens what you have described and the only quick fix was to make a reboot. I didn't tested it yet on CM7.2 RC1 but the issue was present in CM7.1 Stable.
I use Rings Extended, it`s perfect
Today I tested the CM7.2 RC1 ROM with my Bluetooth headset and so far it is working with no problems (no sound issues like you mentioned). Now I just have to see if it would also stay this way in the few days.
I also found that some users had the problem described in the first post when they were using usual cord headphones but so far I hadn't experienced any problems with them although I'm suing them almost every day since the CM7.2 RC1 ROM release day.

[Q] Notification tones stop daily

I read a little in a post with something similar, but daily I find my notification sounds (txt, gtalk, etc.) all just stop, said something about leaks, but it was late and I may have been dreaming :-?
So, I have tried numerous ROM's, currently running Venum Ice RC3.1.1, but had the same issue with other ICS rom's. I will look down and see a bunch of missed txt's, etc. Reboot the phone, all tone's come right back.
Is this a known issue (I am sure it is), but better question, is there a workaround for this?
Tnx
its a bug in the ics leaks.
known issue, no fix yet
I seem to remember problem arises after call if hit home or back lose notification. Need to let call screen revert to dialer then can hit home and not lose notifications. If you lose just make a call and do the above and will have notications again.

+1 this is currently the only known work around.
Iphone Notification, WP7 Notification apps from Play store used to fix this also. Not sure if either one still works or not though.

I use go dialer and I do not recall ever having this problem.
