[Q] Clockwork Mod downgrade questions - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm tying to flash Incredibly Re-Engineered and I know you have to have a lower updated version of cwm. I tried to manually downgrade trough Rom manager but when I try to it says that I can not. Can anyone show or tell me how to? And does anyone know which version I should use? I would post this directly to the Incredibly Re-Engineered page but as a new member I can not. Anything helps

I believe its a PB32IMG.zip to flash through HBOOT, just google PB32IMG.zip 2.5.1.2 and it should pull something up. I'm pretty sure that's how it should go. If not, consider this a bump, and I'm sorry lol.
Sent from my Droid Incredible running Myn's Warm Two Point Two RLS5.3.

I'm having issues here as well with cwm 3.0.7, it just flat out will not boot into recovery, and ROM manager no longer has the option to flash 2.5.1.2. I also wasn't able to find a PB32IMG.zip cwm 2.5.1.2 recovery, but maybe I just didn't look hard enough. If anyone could provide any link/instructions for how to get my old recovery back it would be very much appreciated!

Wow, I'm sorry. Its PB31IMG.zip lol I'm fail :/
EDIT: Here's a link to a few recoveries, you're going to want the second one listed there http://dougpiston.com/?page_id=85
Rename it PB31IMG.zip put it on the root of your sd card, and boot into hboot. Be sure to check your MD5 sum with the one provided to [hopefully] be problem free. Again, I'm sorry about before :/

I been trying to get this rom to work on my evo. But every time i try to load it it says aborted. Can some one give me some info or tell me what i am doing wrong thanks
Wrong section, but which recovery are you using? Clockwork, or Amon-Ra? And which version of Amon-Ra are you using (if thats your recovery).
Check the md5 sum
A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on the IPhone. We now have the Htc Evo.

I really dont know much about rooting just learned how but this is what i been doing.
I hold down the volume button down the power then hit recovery, Wipe everything out, then go to SD card click the rom hit yes to install then it starts then is says abort.
Thanks for the help
if you are on clockwork 3.0.0.x then install 2.6.x.x. I know that 3.0 version has issues. but yeah that is if you are on clockwork.

These guys pretty much summed it up for ya bud, hope you got things figured out. Figuring out which recovery you are on would be the best place to start. If you are using AmonRA, try the toggle signature verification option assuming it is the newest Amon.
Flash Amon RA 2.2, and be done with it.

You need to wait for it to load, if you just flashed it may take a little bit of time to boot up.

Mine did the same thing when I first flashed it. I tried and let it boot for like 20 mins and still nothing. A cpl of battery pulls and tries again and still nothing. I RUU'ed it and then re-rooted it using HTC EVO - Universal Auto Root ~~~ v2.0. Then I retired it and everything worked out after that. If I were you I would RUU it back, re-root it and then just wait till RLS5 comes out tomorrow/today....But hey you can do what you want...It worked for me. I thought I messed up my phone. Mine wouldn't do anything and I couldn't flash anything right. Also ensure you are using the Amon_RA V2.2, If you re-root it it will come with RA V2.1.1, its easy to update it via his thread and terminal. Hang in there
use RA Recovery 2.1.1 and toggle signature verification off, but do a nand backup before.. and then clear cache as well as dalvik cache.. if that doesnt work then you might not have hboot s-off. also check they platform and make sure that your not going from a 3.70 to a 3.6etc. cuz the new platform is 3.70 and he is working on rls 5 that will be updated to that...
Make sure your on the old radio's and PRI otherwise it won't work. Myn's ROMs are still not updated to work on the new radios.

Yes, it sounds here like you might have a radio versioning problem. Did you have the latest radio?
Sent from my PC36100
yes its the radio's update, if its stuck on the htc evo logo at startup....
the myths rls4 wont work on the new 3.70 radio update, so u have to wait till he releases rls5, which its gonna be updated to the new radios 3.70. had the same problem.

yn's RSL4 does work with the radio update, what you have to do is flash Myns...once you done that get a differant kernel and all is good. That is what i had to do and it works great.
Thread moved to Q&A.
Are you installing anything else at the same time that you flash the rom? In other words, are you trying to get mods in before you boot for the first time (transparent title bar, hulu, etc)? It has happened to me that if I try to do too many things at once, I have to flash the rom over again.
I use RSL4 with the updated radio and it works great. Cant wait for the update.

Hi all,
I'm encounter a issue related to thedude00's problem. Please help~ I'll try to provide as much information as possible.
I have the earlier EVO 4G (Supersonic EVT2-3 ENG S-OFF);
HBOOT-0.76.2000 (PC3610000);
Radio-2.15.00.11.19
I am trying to do a clean flash (wipe-factory reset/cashe/delvik) of the new Warm 2.2 RLS 5. I put it under my SDCard and keeping the file name as it is... when I try to flash it, it says I cannot verify because it says:
"E:Missing file: sdcard/Warm_2.2_Optional1/Sprint_Qik.apk
E:Verification Failed
Zip verification failed!"
and the installation aborts. -- Oh and I have that Warm Optional1 folder there, and Sprint_Qik.apk IS there! I don't know why this can't find it...
Then I disable signature verification; it would go through and install... But after reboot, I get the boot screen (HTC EVO 4G, white screen) for a long time and just won't load.
**** UPDATE ****
I figured out my issue; kind of a false alarm.
So I didn't realize that someone ported this ROM from EVO to Incredible... so when I use Google to search just "warm twopointtwo RLS5", it automatically brought me to the Incredible page (which looks exactly the same as EVO). So I found the EVO version of the RLS5, and it installed through even with verification!
Again, sorry for the false alarm if I caused any. But at least here is a reference. Make sure you are downloading the right ROM for your phone; there's a Warm 2.2 for Incredible now.

[Q] new myn twopointtwo rls 5 confused on how to update radio wiimax and pri

ok so i love myns rom twopionttwo and i just saw there was an update for rls5.
im a little confused on how to update the radio, wiimax and pri. i have read people messing up there phones from updating this or maybe i read wrong. if someone could please just give me a step by step or explain the safest route to go about this without brinking my phone.
thanks in advance
If you haven't already, flash amon RA recovery v2.2.1. It is safest method I know. Then download calkulins combo radio update. In recovery make a nandroid. Always make a nandroid. Then flash the combo. Restart. Viola. Hope that helps. BTW myn's rom is simply incredible.

Here you go. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830153
and you will not loose root. just place it on the sd card and boot into boot loader, by shutting down the phone. press and hold the -vol and the power button, this will put you on the phone's boot loader screen, it will search for the file, when done just follow directions and it will do its thing.

Recovery work perfectly fine, let me try flashing some other rom.
Also, because this might be a bad radio flash, can reflashing radio hurt?

Using Clockwork 2.5.1 (?, flashing right now) so I can't check.
Was on MYN RLS4. Flashed the bundled radio zip linked above, now in this situation. Currently, I'm flashing to RLS5 after a ADB push of the zip file. Edit: Was on BS#6 Kernel
If this doesn't work, I'll flash a deodexed stock 3.70.
Any more recommendations?
edit: Looks like I got past the HTC Evo 4G screen, just waiting for the MYN boot animation now.
edit2: I booted up, thanks for the help. At least I can rest knowing that my radio flash wasn't borked.

Ive had the same problem today on two different evos, with two different recoveries! Both times I just booted into recovery and ran a full nandroid backup, then restarted and it stuck in white screen.
First was with amon_ra recovery. I pulled the battery after it stuck on white screen and it rebooted fine.
Second time was with clockwork. I just now pulled the battery and rebooted..... and it looks to be sticking again.
Both are running Fresh Rom. v3.5.01 I think.
Do you have the SDK installed and a usb cable? Hook up the evo, then do: "adb logcat", power on, and post the output. Note: it sounds like it is looping so watch carefully and when you see it looping hit "crtl+c" to stop logcat.
Do this! download this to you sd card http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PXIYUNSY than boot into bottloader, let the phone search for the file update and this should get you up and running. The problem doing what you did is that that works when a different kernel not htc kernel.
good lookin out

You will not Loose Root.
You lucky son of a gun, my old evo wouldn't even not into recovery. Just bootloader. After stressing out for hours trying to fix it I finally got a replacement
The same thing happened to me and your link worked like a charm. I was just wondering if after I did this would I still be able to try and flash a different rom? or am I stuck with this one? I am just wondering....as you can see Im pretty new to the rooting game.
Basically, if you update your radios, you have to also update your rom to 3.70 build otherwise the phone won't get pass the bootanimation screen. Normally, you would update the rom then update the radios. Also, to nandroid or flash back to 3.30 build, you have to downgrade the radios back to the version used for 3.30. I was stuck on bootloop with new radios if I flashed any rom below 3.70, but downgrading the radios to previous version allowed for 3.30 nandroid restores.
Ok thank you a bunch for the info!! you were a life saver lol

Ok so I did what you said above and loaded that file onto sd card and went into bootloader if worked and i managed to get into recovery and flashed fresh and got the phone booted all way but I want Warm two point two so i flashed that version 4 and it wont go past the white HTC screen what can I do

[Q]Unable to flash senseless revolution?

Hey guys i finally got a working dinc (apparently they lied about letting me get a different handset because htc has never reported random reboots as an issue), and rooted and dropped jagerrom on it just to try it. and I dont like it, at all. So i wanna go back to senseless rEVOlution, but no matter what i try it just wont flash. I've tried changing roms and going from there, doing it through rom manager, doing it through recovery, even un/re-rooting and everything. I just want a rom that i like so tired of phone problems zzz
What do you mean it won't flash? Are you getting an error message? Is the install going through but it does nothing? Can you be a bit more specific?
Ummm if I try it straight through recovery it just says install can not be completed and another line, I'd have to try it to check. If I go through rom manager the install seems to go fine but then it boots back into jager ROM

Go back to 2.5.1.2. 3.0.0.5 had a bunch of issues/problems. This is probably one of the reasons that nothing is happening after you flash it. Revert to 2.5.1.2, wipe, then flash the rom you want. Everything should be good after that.
Then if you want, you can upgrade it to 3.0.0.8, I haven't heard of any problems with that one.
kk sweet ill do that.
PS does battery level matter when flashing stuff? a friend told me that if u flash on anything besides full it'll mess with your battery life

No, it doesn't matter, just don't do it when the battery level is low. You don't want the phone to power off in the middle of flashing a rom, that makes your phone a nice paperweight.
ah okay sweet. apparently something about senseless revolution wont let me flash with 3.X.X.X recovery. said something about a script not being compatible with gingerbread recoveries.
and apparently apply sdcard/update.zip didnt flash the new recovery, hmm. oh well ill figure it out.
are there any ACTUAL gingerbread roms for the dINC and not just themeed ones? all the ones I see say GB but then in the topic it just is like "Themed gingerbread whatever"

Just reflash the recovery through rom manager. Just scroll to the bottom, All ClockworkMod Recoveries, and pick 2.5.1.2.
For GB CM7 is basically a stock GB rom with a bunch of customizations that you can choose to make. Its the most stable GB rom right now IMO.
The lowest it has is 3.0.0.2 and doesnt let me scroll

How do we update CWM?

I've been doing tons of searching but I can't find an answer, I have still have CWM 2.5xx and I need 3.0.0.7 for most ROMs (I wish I knew that beforehand, I've been flashing roms and having tons of problems, and I'm sure that might be a reason why.)
anyone know how to do this?
Thanks!
Update your Rom Manager in the market and you will have the latest CWM. If you've already done so, go into rom manager and scroll down to "All ClockworkMod Recoveries" and change as needed. Your CWM will be orange now instead of green.

Yeah I pretty much had the same issue recently after I rooted with unrevoked and had whatever 2.5.x.x cwm that it put on there, and I wanted 3.0.0.7 so I could try a gingersense rom. After trying the zip method through recovery which I couldn't get working, I ended up just using the Rom Manager app, which brought me to 3.0.0.8 and I downgraded to 3.0.0.7.
