Hi I am new for andriod system and bought a HTC desire about 2 weeks ago.
After I rooted my phone, everything was fine and then I started to backup system. When I was finished with backup, I got bootloop.
I got nervous and then I format system or something (I cannot really remember what I did after backup), then I cannot get into system. Everytime I restart phone, the screen is frosen at the start screen with only HTC on it.
I dont know what to do now and when I connect phone to pc, it doesnt reconize my phone so that I cannot add or delete files from sd card.
I am not smart for IT or phone. so need help here. I appreciate it very much.

har du orginal rom på eller en af dem her fra forummet
hvis du har en her fra forummet skal du bare bruge kortlæser til den zip fil du henter eller har hentet
og den skal forblive i zip

Jeg har original rom og jeg har downloadet ny rom og den ligger i min pc nu.
Jeg undrer mig om jeg skal s-off min telefon først? og skal jeg bruge en lavere version af rom, fordi der er nogen der siger at det er lav risico at gå galt igen hvis man bruger en lavere version rom til start med.
ok troede du havde cooked rom på så som 2.2 hd portet rom
ved ikke lige hvordan du får orginal rom på når den ikke starter op

Jeg tror at vi misforstår lidt hinanden om original rom. Jeg mener, at original rom er det origital OS installeret ind i telefon når man køber den.
Ja, det er rigtigt, jeg kan ikke noget uden at kunne starte op, derfor skal jeg købe en kortlæser imorgen.

Hi. Not yet.
but I am trying to flash a new rom into my phone, let me see if it gets back to work again. Since my phone is not recognized by pc when connected by USB, so I have to buy a card reader.
Do I have to S-off my phone first or do have any suggestion about what I should do to solve my problem? Thanks.
I think it would be best if you summarised what is in the above posts in English. This would help many on here to give you further advice

Floor 2-janielsen
You should take your sd card out and find the firmware you want and put it in the sd card.
put sd back in your phone without start the phone
and then push power and volume-, so you are in HBOOT
then to recovery, push power again
now you are in recovery
first make a reset factory
a cache partion delete
go in advance
a dalvik partion
then back one time, choose zip from sd
flash zip now

Do you mean, that I should take sd out and use card reader to put a new ROM in sd and try to install it in the phone?

If you have one from this forum, you should use card reader to put that zip file, you have got.

I have the original rom and also download a new one and it is in my pc now.
I am wondering if I have to S-OFF my phone first? and should I use a lower version of rom, because someone says that it will be lower risk that something goes wrong, if people start use a lower version of rom and upgrade it afterwards.

yes I can go into recovery. the problem is as mentioned I cannot put files into sd card, for it is not recognized by USB when coonection to pc
When in recovery mode, go into 'mounts and storage' and choose 'mount sdcard'.
Can your PC see your phone now?

nothing happened when i mounted sd card, but it becomes "unmount sd card" in the menu.
Right, ok. On your phone, in recovery, go to 'backup & restore' and then 'restore'. What does it say? Does it list the backup you have previously taken?

i have tried restore all the backup i made. process is finished as wished. but when reboot, the same happens again. the screen frosen at the start screen with HTC only
Have you tried to wipe cache and dalvik cache (2 different options in the menus, dalvik is under advanced). Then reboot?
This should be done after a successful restore.

no difference. the screen frosen again.
Ok, 2 options:
Get a cardreader and try an flash a custom rom from your sdcard or
Try running the WWE RUU to get you back to stock again. This wont require a cardreader I don't think.

I flashed my artemis phone with the uspl FAQ. I did exactly how is was written, but after flashing i get an connection error and my screen was all white. I removed the battery and my phone phone won't start anymore.

Don't disconnect the phone or turn it off. If USPL tells you it is successful (i.e. the Desktop program congratulates you) then simply run RomUpdateUtility for your chosen .nbh.

I already turned it off it wont start anymore
Try to enter the phone in bootloader --> hold the voice record button while turning the device on/ pushing the soft reset button.
Cant get into bootloader :S doesn't work. but if i do a hard reset it goes on and says format has failed
Strange, it should be possible to enter it in bootloader... you have to hold the voice record during restart until it is loaded. You should get a green, blue and red screen and if you connect the data cable it should say usb in a corner.

ik heb hem gedownload en uitgevoerd maar lukt nog steeds niet hij zegt: ERROR 300 Invalid update tool.

huom. bootmenu ja softreset tapahtuu samoista näppäimistä (se ok+power+reset .. reset näppäimen
painallus pituus vaikuttaa siihen kumpi tulee reset vai bootmenu vinkki.. bootmenun saa
nopeasti jos painaa ok+power ja näpyttelee sitä reset painiketta..

suprise suprise run RUUWrapper and install SPL-2.02/2.10/2.30 New Bootloader questions you answer asle.. yes my install stuck at 100% i waited about 20min and then again that left side ok of your pda and power and press reset few times.. so it resetted.. then 100%ready win 6.5 looks and works very fine and fast..
i had problem with connection to pc .. all connections are corrected if restarted pc with pda connected .. must set off usb wire when shutting down..
So this must be considered official firmware now?

I just checked it before I flashed a friends phone with jm5.
It said Eclair.XWJM2 and baseband was xxjm1.
Correction, I didn't flash it, as it can't go into boot/download mode.
So I installed a ROM backup from my phone, with jm5 and samset, works perfect btw.

I managed to upgrade quite easily via Kies to the official JM1 that shipped last week.
Samsung from Telmore denmark here.
JM2 here stock no root.

Last week I gave my iPad to my friend and went for my first Android experience. XOOM. I bought it from Axiom in Dubai. It was “International Retail” version.( H.6.1-38-9) . Stock 3.0.1
As I said, I had no experience in Android but XOOM lack of functionality and problems forced me to go for upgrading it.
I started my search about “What is ROOTing?”, “Idiot guide” , “ROOT for dummies” … but after a week of study and “try and error” , I have a XOOM with :
OS : HC 3.1
ROM : Tiamat 1.1 /1.4.5 (Newest version)
Recovery : Clockwork 3.2.0.0 (Newest version)
Radio : GSM Based 3G/Edge is working (with different SIM card)
SD : SD card fully functional
WiFi : NO problem at ALL ! no disconnection, no of any kind.
Here I want to share my knowledge with you, Thanks to XDA-Developer forum and its users.
Warning: Read your Motorola warranty card and if you decide to lose their support then do the Rooting/upgrading at your own risk. This is only for educational purposes.
Let's Start
1. Install SDK on your PC . Really easy.
-Put SDK path in your PC’s path . This is necessary for you if you want to use ADB commends anywhere in your PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\tools\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_26\bin\;C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\

2. Get to know ADB / Fastboot command . with these:

3. Ok . Now you are ready for going for ROOT your device . by ROOT, you can have FULL access to your device file system.
-Read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1049901 Very good help. Skip the last part about installing modules because you are going to install new one later.
After ROOT, there is an application named SUPERUSER on your XOOM. Just run it, if you see no errors, then you did your job correctly.
4. Ok. Now you should install RECOVERY . This is necessary for other steps. With it, you can install ROM and also get backup and use it in case of emergency!

-Read and use this Recovery Image: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979 (Use Method2)
- Test if you can go to Recovery screen . Go through menus.
- Make your SD card ready . 2GB is enough. Format it with your windows and in FAT32.
- Put it inside your XOOM , Go to Recovery , and get your first backup . Thn your are ready for next step
5. Ok . In this step we are going to install 3.1 on your XOOM !.

- The whole things is : Get some file from your XOOM – Keep them somewhere – Install regular 3.1 US version(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074609-In this STEP 4 is VERY important to do) – Push back your own files to the device. That’s it.
EDIT : (12 - JULY - 2011) - U can now install AU version instead of US version . Much easier and safer : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089695
- In every step you can get backup in your Recovery as well
6. Last Step . Install the latest Tiamat ROM .

Big Thanks! But i'd like you also to be more specific on the files to push back. it's the telephone.db after all i had read before..my sd-card will arrive today and i'm keen on flashing right after getting home
And the only point i _allways_ don't get, is about pushing back your own files.
How to bakup them and how to restore.
can't find them in titanium or CWM

It seems u have CDMA version not a GSM. Then U should be able to use US version. Study first.

You have to pull those files after Root and before update to 3.1with ADB commands. The most important one is build.pro. If u have ur backups, restore ur phone to that stage, pull out the files and update again.
Attached u can find necessary files. These are for "International Retail Version". I've tested with 4 different SIM cards .

i make "adb pull settings.db /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db" before?
My Device has only root and CWM till now. nothing bad happened. I'd like to be sure _before_ flashing new image

I‘m using MZ601.It's really support the WCDMA/2100MHz without the CDMA.

As your are German, too: How does your new ROM perform on the Xoom?
Also got the MZ601. Can you please share your experiences with it on Tiamat? Worth doing? Benefits?

ja, Deutscher.
Habe Tiamat installiert und bin recht zufrieden. Der Vorteil mit Tiamat ist nicht so groß wie mit Android Revolution auf dem Desire HD aber es ist ein guter Anfang und letztlich werden das vermutlich auch die Entwickler so betrachten. Mir ging es zunächst um Root und eben darum Chef des Gerätes zu sein. Ich wollte auf Titanium und ein paar andere Gimmicks nicht verzichten, die ich von ARHD gewohnt bin. Aber am Ende rootet man ja sein Gerät nicht nur zum Selbstzweck Also neues ROM und los.
Tiamat ist stabil und flüssig und kann eben auch mit der eigens für das XOOM bestellten SD-Karte umgehen.
Ob sich das für dich lohnt, kann ich nicht sagen, für mich ist klar, ein sehr guter Anfang ist gemacht, das Gerät ist offen, Backup funktioniet, jetzt fehlt nur noch ein Stück weit die lebendige Developer-Comunity
Die Prozedur sieht btw. a Ende deutlich komplizierter aus, als sie ist.
Im gegensatz zum Desire HD, wo ich mir einen abgebrochen habe, Root zu bekommen, war Root sehr flott erledigt und das ROM, nachdem die SD-Karte angekommen war, auch
Ah, btw. das ROM ist und bleibt Englisch. Sprach und tastatureingaben lassen sich auf Deutsch ändern, das UI aber nicht.

Vodafone funktioniert einwandfrei!
Das mit der SD-Card scheint mir noch nicht endgültig gelöst zu sein. Fakt ist aktuell, wenn ich das Gerät anschließe bekomme ich Zugriff auf ein "tragbares Gerät" und innerhalb des Storage ist dann die SD-karte gemountet und voll verfügbar. Und ja, die SD-Karte war selbstverständlich ein Grund für Root bzw. custom kernel. Denn Root reicht nicht für den SD-Karten-Zugriff, du brauchst, soweit ich weiß mindestens den Tiamat 1.31 Kernel dafür.

Joar now I've done it, that will not boot my note2.* So I have the Note2Core 2:10 innstalliert kernel to go into the recovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-N7100 recovery menu.* Power of habit I've made it with the rom manager where I "start the recovery menu" was pressed.* Now is no longer on my note2, nothing shows (black screen) whom I to the pc nothing anschliese who I. and now again in german my mother languge: Hallo erst mal. Joar jetzt hab ich es geschafft, das mein note2 nicht mehr startet. Also ich hab den Note2Core 2.10 kernel innstalliert und wollte ins recovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-N7100 recovery menü gehen. Macht der gewohnheit hab ich es mit dem rom manager gemacht in dem ich "starte ins recovery menü" gedrückt habe. Jetzt geht mein note2 nicht mehr an, zeigt gar nichts(black screen) wen ich es an den pc anschliese nichts, wen ich es an sein netzteil anschliese nichts, akku raus rein, ncihts. joar, bitte helft mir...
If you have a working nandroid backup reboot in recovery and restore the backup. If you don`t have that flash a stock rom with Odin. After that reroot mate.
i have a recovery-twrp-2.3.1.1 backup, because i dont can use, my note maks nothing, not the logo with the name.

If you can`t restore a backup, go in downloadmode and flash a stock rom with Odin. You need a T-Mobile stock rom?
my note dosnt boot to the download modus. its dosnt boot anyway. the display is black and maks nothing.

Pull the battery, wait 30 seconds and reinsert the battery and try to get into downloadmode. Do you have a jig?

Try to get a jig, that usualy gets you into downloadmode. And otherwise you have to take it to the store for repair. Look on Google/XDA for a way to restore the phone if possible.
i can switch the device, by my netcarrier (Vodafone germany) als last way.

edit: allreigt i have found, what a jig is, i can build him, self and buying takes too long.

the "nosent work" is incorrect, in the darknes i see, a little red led blinking rieght of the speaker.
Allrieht, today cam my switch Note2 from Vodafone.
i think for the next time i sell me a jig.
