Hello,
I've got a HTC Desire. My old phone is a Windows Mobile device.
A friend of me has a Desire HD with the App Transfer Data from HTC.
So I thought the Desire would also have this app and I could transfer Data from my messages from my WM device to the desire.
Is there a apk for this app somewhere?
Thanks for helping me.
Pulled from my ROM. It should be working.
Thanks for Transfer Data App i m also searching for this app. Still i didn't use this app, i hope it work's.
dont work for my Samsung Galaxy Tab, Installation failed
I am looking for something similar for my Samsung Galaxy SL i9003. If anyone has any idea, please share.

@Samsung users:

You can't install it, you need to copy to system and fix permissions on it via ROOT explorer.
here is how i did,
transfered contacts from wm 6.5 to android using outlook
and transfered all sms using

hope this helps you..

Has anyone managed to install this .apk? I'm trying using the mentioned instructions but I can't seem to manage. Am I missing something here? I'm trying to install onto a DHD running virtuous unity 1.27.0

Newer version
The old version here cannot receive the picture associated with the contact. I have attached the newer version that comes with HTC Sensation. I got it from the file "Stock Apps+ODEX.zip" at this thread: [APPS] T-Mobile Stock Apps & Stock Apps+ODEX Files
Also you may want to sign the application first. Then check the above replay by @maniacscorpio.

Rip the .apk from a stock rom and then try and install it on the ROM you're using.
ok i'll try that. I'm not certain i know how so let me know if this process isn't correct...
Unzip the Rooted Stock 2.2 ROM
Search for carpanel.apk or somthing similar, then just move that to the sd card and install it.
Thanks. I'll let you know if this works!

Yup exactly...
For your convenience:
The HTC car panel
The other two are the google android car panel files (you need both)
I prefer the google one because it has a music button and works in landscape.
Let me know if I messed up and put the wrong files for any of them.
how exactly do you install that apk file after they are both on your sd card?

download astro file manager from the market.
This app allows you to browse files on your sd card.
Find those .apk files that you need to install.
and itll detect to install it once you launch them
***Side Note***
The first time you try to install an apk itll have a security/protection setting
Youll see what i mean when you attempt to open that file, itll ask you if you want to unblock ---> unblock by unchecking that box.
Thank you very much ! This was quite helpful my HTC desire.
Dude thanks! You rock! Seems that CoreDroid missed that element in their v8.1 ROM for HTC Inspire/Desire HD. I'll be trying this for sure.
Thanks for the links nhutpham, has helped out a family member who lost car panel due to the android 2.3.5 and sense 3.0 updates.
Likewise, my Amaze (2.3.4, Sense 3.0) simply didn't have an HTC Car Panel app. This is a little old, but works fine. Hopefully Sense 4.0 with the ICS update will come with the new car app I've seen demoed at MWC this week.
Hi
I recently updated to 2.3.4 over the air rooted version posted in the Dev section. Not sure if this caused the problem as i didnt really check while I had 2.2 stock but my Calendar app wont open. It comes up with the Force Close button instantly.
Is there a way to fix this or does the HTC calendar not run on the 2.3.4 update?
Can I somehow reinstall via Terminal? If so could someone kindly post the commands?
Hi guys any thoughts on this? Really want to get it working.
It seems that the sync doesnt work when i look in the sync settings. Sync com.android.calander. Has an exclamation mark error next to it.
i tried Root Uninstaller Pro to uninstall the calander then reinstalled. Also did the same for the google calander sync app. Still not working.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I resently uninstalled my Samsung Social Hub from my T-989 T-Mobile SGSII (It may work on all Samsung Galaxy S II's) and was at a lost on how to get it back. I read about 10 to 15 post and they gave the instructions but the files couldn't be found on there download sites. I attempted to figure it out with SUCCESS!!... Mind you, I am BRAND NEW to creating anything for phones... So please go easy on me.
1. In ClockworkMod Recovery flash:
1samsung_social_hub_Push then 2.Social_hub_7.52. Incase only one of there installs, you should still be fine as it did for me, my auto updated to the latest Social Hub.
2. Reboot your phone and let it start up as normal.
3. Unzip the SocialHubAPKs on your PC. Once unzipped, copy all APKs to you SD card on your Android phone (and remember their location)
4. Now using a Root Explorer on your phone, find all the APKs, copy all & paste them in the "/system/app" folder located on you SGSII.
5. Now that all the Social Hubs from the zip are placed in the /SYSTEM/APP folder, simply REBOOT your phone and open up Social Hub, ENJOY!!...
PS: I used 1Samsung_social_hub and 2.Social_hub_7.52 from another page but couldn't remember from where... So Thank You to you guys for the first to parts, the APK's I put together myself... But it worked... This should also work if you have a debloated ROM but want Social Hub on your phone...

Guys:
I've just turned mi Galaxy S4 from i337m to i9505 with Wanamlite 1.5 but when I try to sign in to Samsung Hub it says: "Invalid Device ID".
Do you know any solution? I've got some movies I bought before and I can't watch them
Truth be told, I don't wanna go back to i337m roms because they do not support apps to sd.
I would first uninstall app. Use file manger to delete apk info. I would use prop edit and rename the build prop of the new phone to the old one and reinstall the apk. Your Apks and movies should work

Pardon me, but where is the download link for all necesary files? ...
I've managed to extract an apk of a (free) application that is restricted to the Galaxy S3. Unfortunately, when I try to install this apk on my Galaxy Nexus, it says 'application not installed'. I'm assuming this is because the S3's device ID is integrated into the apk file, which is why the apk installs fine onto the S3 that it was extracted from.
How does one get around this? Surely it's possible, as applications such as Google Wallet are extracted and shared for all devices on the internet within hours of an update. Could somebody give me a guide on how to do this?
Just a thought, install on your s3, titium back up , copy the backup to your GN and install

It's my mother's S3; I can't root it.
Add her email account then go to play store menu and click her email under accounts and her play suite will be on there. Just make sure you don't sync when setting it up or will get all her emails. Then remove her account. app will still be installed and will update. If you flash you'll have to do it again

Don't need root. Just add her under accounts on phone. I did it once. My friend had tmobile. I'm sprint. Apps are tied to email account. All you do is switch user in the store and hers will be there and yours won't until you switch back. Get app. Switch back to yours. Go back to phone settings and remove her account.

Any new ideas?
Is it even possible to pull files from system folders via ADB command without root?
Isn't there some Apps that can temporary root your device withou actually touch system to root it?
Or why don't you root it and then afterwards unroot it?

I think you will be able to pull this off in a custom recovery.
Beamed from my Maguro
OK, so I've realised that the apk that I've pulled from the S3 works fine. I had an online friend install it on his phone and it installs perfectly. I then tried installing it on a Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2. Both of those threw up the same error: 'application not installed'. This has lead me to conclude that the apk, and the application, have device checks built-in. It won't install on anything other than an S3.
Does anyone know how to decompile apks to remove these device checks? I know it's possible, but how complicated is it?

That sounds as though your phone isn't actually reaching the facebook page but is being redirected somewhere else. Are you sure it's not something to do with your wifi network? Can you get to facebook OK from a laptop?
I'd expect this sort of thing if you were connected to a hotspot without having logged into the hotspot from the phone.

But the funny part is, it only affected HTC Desire.
My GF with Samsung Galaxy S, and all others that I know, dont have problems...
Found this problem on other forums too, all Desire's
And one have tried a factory reset.
Facebook was unreachable a couple of days ago. But I got a message saying that they are doing maintenance. When it came back up, all it had me do is log back in. Everything is fine until now.
I wonder if your issues has something to do with the Facebook integrated on Sense. You guys using Sense roms by any chance?

Same here since a couple of days. It seems to be a problem on FB side, but in some way related to the software of the phone. I own a Desire with RcmixS Rom Gingerbread. I flashed it with an ICS Rom and it worked after that. Come back to Gingerbread after factory wipe and problem is there again.

Trying logically to understand why this happens only on Desire with gingerbread (since on my with ICS it was working) and looking at the error I thought it could be a problem of certificates that are not up to date, in this case may be only on a specific android distribution like the one we have on Desire... (app developer are maybe forgetting our loved phone since it's getting older) so I tried to understand how to update this certificates and I've finally found that there are some files where they are stored inside a system directory.
Here attached you can download a zip with some certificates I found. To install them you have to put the file on the SD, go into recovery mode and then simply choose to install a zip from SD card. Reboot... My FB started working again! I had tried everything before this without success... so maybe this will work for you too.
Let me know! :fingers-crossed:

I BET it's because facebook.com have automatic activated some new security settings, https, and (dont know the english word for it) safe login, where you will receive an sms the first time you log on from a new unit...
I downloaded your zip file, extracted cacerts.bks, cwcerts.zip & otacerts.zip and copied them to my system/etc/security folder, quick restart, and it's WORKING :good:
And I was receiving an sms so that i could log on.
Funny part is, that those certificates looks older than the ones I allready got, but they are a little bit bigger.
But it's working... thank you

Yes, having LeeDroid you should already have a cooked recovery... just power off the phone, keep pressed vol - and power... choose recovery with vol buttons and enter with power button. You should be now on you recovery (probably clockworkmod). Choose install zip from SD and select certs.zip you can find on my previous post and that you have to put on your SD. At the end reboot. You should now be able to use FB.
installed the certs and Facebook is now working. :good:

No låvisa, the folder is on the internal memory, but you can't write on it if you are not rooted. You can probably apply the file from the recovery also without root, but you need a cooked recovery. To permanently install the clockworkmod recovery, that is not the stock one and that have more option like the one to install zip, again you would need to be root. Instead I think you can (I've never do it this way, sorry...) install the clockworkmod recovery temporary without root from your stock recovery, just the time to flash my zip.
Here you can find all the available way to install the clockworkmod, look at the update.zip method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/ClockworkMod_Recovery
