so today my friend tried to root and flash a custom rom on my phone.
he downloaded rom manager. but did flash clockwork recovery to 3.0.0.5
and it's now on 2.5.1.0. and it won't flash any roms. i tried to do everything.
and there's no backup. so now whenever i boot up my phone it goes straight to clockwork recovery. is there anyway i can get my phone running again? please help.
Use Odin the flash back to stock. Instructions are in both the wiki and the dev section.
can you post a link for me please? and thank you.

run THIS root exploit:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869295
with the phone connected.
that one installs 3.0.0.6 which you need.

Hey, everyone. After installing the latest Clockworkmod Recovery, I have not been able to boot into recovery. I can still boot regularly just fine, but I'm getting to the point where I'm feeling like a new ROM. I've attempted to access recovery from ROM Manager and hboot, but when the phone reboots, the splash screen hangs. I tried reflashing recovery, but it hasn't helped at all. Anyone have any ideas?
Flash a different version of clock work

you can also just flash alternative recoveries in ROM manager
My Incredible (1) will not boot into recovery. I get the bootloader only. When I select recovery in the bootloader it just brings me back to the bootloader. I don't know how to correct this. Please help. Thank you.
Did you try re flashing the recovery?

Several times with no luck.
If your using rom manager try navigating to the rom manager settings and tick erase recovery then reflash 5.0.2.0 through the rom manager main screen. Only thing I can think of.

Sorry i was using the xda app, dosent show sig. Anyways does recovery error and not flash, or flash fine but you still cant access it? Try flashing the stock recovery or amon ra recovery and see if you can access them? If you can then try flashing back to cwm. If none of that works i would try doing an ruu. You can get all those files from the site in my sig.
Did you try reflashing an earlier version of recovery? 3.x.x.x?
I had problems the other day getting into recovery while running a GB version of MIUI. I went into rom manager and clicked on "flash alternative Recovery", that allowed me to boot into recovery. Try that.
Something that i've heard that sometimes works is going into ROM Manager and clicking flash recovery 3-4 times. If this doesn't work you might need to return to stock (including stock recovery) and then re-root.
Sorry I hadn't answered anyone yet. I had personal problems to deal with.
As for flashing into stock. I can't do that. I can't flash into anything because my phone will not go into CWR...
I can't flash from the ROM Manager either. It just kicks me back to the bootloader.
When I select Recovery it just kicks me back to the bootloader main menu. Nothing else seems to work.
I have root. I don't understand why this will not work. Any ideas? PLEASE... Thank you.

You need to flash cwm thru hboot if your s-off or fastboot flash the cwm img if you just have an unlocked bootloader.
Hey guys,
So I just rooted my rogers galaxy s3 and I'm trying to install CWM recovery. My phone isnt on the ROM manager list so I tried flashing it through odin. I've tried about 7 times each with different versions of cwm recovery and odin keeps saying it was a success but whenever I try to go into recovery mode I just go to android system recovery and not CWM recovery. I have no clue why this is happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Zach

Had the same problems, follow this guide use the latest versions of everything (Odin, etc.). The key is the pulling of the battery after flashing and before you boot. Once I did that I got into CWM no problem.

Yeah I ended up installing TWRP, and I flashed this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766684&highlight=gapps
Good so far!
This is probably the same issue i was having where the stock recovery kept coming back. You will need to rename or delete these two files.
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh

Was The rooting sucsesful, and you can Boot to The Rom, or comes this prob directly after flash The recovery and manuell booting Into The recovery?
Have you install The Quickboot APP?
After I flash the recovery it Is only booting to recovery, it won't allow Me to do Anything else
EDIT: I fixed it, just reflashed it to stock then flashed recovery and gained root access with universal root!

I flashed the latest 4.2.2 firmware through odin, because it was recovery looping, I have the link for the firmware if you want it.
I then flashed philz touch cwm through odin also, after that I installed the universal root through cwm and boom, it works

In my case, when I install CWM recovery using odin, it installs sucessfully, but when my phone reboots after the download, and then I try going to the recovery, I still get the official Stock recovery.

Not only you, many other users like us got the same problem.
When we install CWM using Odin with Auto-Reboot turned on, it says pass and reboots the phone. But when we go to the recovery mode, the Stock recovery is still present there.
Secondly, when we try installing CWM using Odin with Auto-Reboot unchecked, the phone freezes on the downloading screen after downloading it, so we have to remove the battery, put it back inside, and go to the recovery. At that time we can see CWM recovery, but when we reboots system and then later when we have to come back to recovery more, the stock recovery pops up again.
This kind of problems are being faced by many Samsung Galaxy Grand duos GT-19082 users.
It would be really appreciated if someone knows the solution and could help us.
Thanks!
