HTC Desire HD Bluetooth Pererapal Device Driver Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit problem - Desire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As above I am trying to get the Bluetooth working with my HTC Desire HD and pc running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit but on pairing Windows searches for the Bluetooth device driver but cannot find it.
I was wondering if anyone knew the solution to this please?

i'm running Win 7 Professional x64 and have no problems.
does your pc recognize other bluetooth devices?
is the DHD visible? (Check the settings in android)
which bluetooth stack/card/whatever are you using?
DN41

In device manager I have a yellow notice next to Bluetooth Pererapal Device and on boot up Windows can't find the driver. I have tried updating the driver through device manager but it can't find it.
My built in Bluetooth on the memory card reader on the pc works fine with other phones say for example the Sony Ericsson X10 the Bluetooth driver is on the cd that comes with the phone but you don't have a cd with the HTC Desire HD so I'm wondering where it is?

Strange as I have the latest HTC Sync installed, I'll reinstall and see if it makes a difference.

the only other thing i can suggest is to search this database for your vendor ID, it will give you detailed driver information
http://www.pcidatabase.com/

I've emailed HTC to ask about a solution for this, that site you gave has nothing listed for the HTC Desire HD.

you need to search for the vendor ID not the device..
Open Device Manager, Select the unknown device and right click to access Properties. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id from the drop down. An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device. We only need to isolate the Vendor ID number (prefixed with VEN) and the Device ID number (prefixed with DEV). In this case, Vendor ID is 1217 and Device ID is 7130. now search them on that website, like the picture below. it will give you all the info you need to find the driver

I'm getting this as the alphanumeric string in Device Instance ID
BTHENUM\{8E771401-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB}_VID&0001000F_PID&0000\8&110DB71A&0&F8DB7FBA6702_C00000006

after spending like half an hour searching the net, i think this is the driver you need i think you must download the "bluetooth device driver" for your pc/laptop model
http://www.driversforfree.com/dt_dm...1-usb-bluetooth-bt2-1-edr-device/drivers.aspx

Thanks for searching it's doing my head in also.
This pc already has the Bluetooth Device driver installed and its working with all my other phones fine, this is what I don't understand as to why this error is coming up.
I am able to transfer photos etc back and forth to pc using Bluetooth with the Desire HD now only for some strange reason still have the yellow exclamation mark in device manager under Bluetooth Peripheral Device which is for the Desire HD.
The Bluetooth card reader is a Dell Media Card Reader with Integrated Bluetooth Module (CAB-200) it doesn't appear to be listed in that site list but can obviously get it from Dell. This is a XPS quad core system with one of those built in media card readers with Bluetooth. Strange that the error is showing with the DHD when all other phones work fine.
Thanks for the help though I appreciate it a lot.
Edit: Still have the same issue even after all that, the Device Driver in that list doesn't work on that website, reinstalling the driver for my Dell Media Card Reader with Integrated Bluetooth Module (CAB-200) also made no difference.
To be honest I'm now finding Dropbox over WiFi to be a better option, quicker too for sending photos and video to pc than messing about with Bluetooth.
Will see what htc has to say as all my other phones work fine with that dual card reader and bluetooth on the pc.

Issue now resolved with Bluetooth.
I would honestly say transferring media is much better with using Dropbox anyway as its quicker than messing around with Bluetooth.

Vista Home not working with HTC Sync

I have Vista Home and I installed HTC Sync using the .exe file that was inside the SD card supplied with the phone. But I have no joy getting this to work and so I cannot sync my Outlook contacts and calendar. The phone shows "cannot find HTC Sync on your PC and.. etc" When I looked into Control Panel/Device Manager I can see that there is a big yellow exclamation mark under Android USB Devices which reads "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)".
Any joy from anyone to sync your contacts and calendar ? thanks Peter
of course it works, take the .exe and right click on it & choose properties...
you now see a tab "compatibility" en you can choose to run it as XP with service pack 2 ...
now it have to work properly.
Its very usefull onces you know it.
otherwise you can look for the programm "the missing sync for android"
good luck
Are you using the latest version of Sync - same as that available from HTC's website? I'm running Vista Home Premium x64 without compatibility and it's running fine.
After installing HTC Sync on the PC, you also have to switch the Desire from charge mode or USB disk mode to HTC Sync mode. Failing that, have you got a firewall/AV package which could be blocking it?
same issue
I've got exactly the same problem, did you fix yours? any tips?
HTC Desire Sync Problems
I'm new here so forgive any duplication.
I am having the same problems with the HTC Sync .exe, Vista Home Basic and the Device driver incompatability.
It has been a while since the last post to this thread and I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to the above problems. I hope so as it is driving me mad
Hi, I bought my Desire last Saturday, and it synched flawlessly with my Windows7 64bit notebook.... but that is not my pc -_-
My pc is a Vista Home Premium 32 bit, and I encountered the same exact problems that some mentioned in this thread... did any solution come out to solve it? Or Vista HP 32 owners are going to be disappointed?
Sorry for the double post, but I think I have good news
Trying again after I updated to Vista Service Pack 1, the "My HTC" device was installed perfectly, and connecting the phone to an USB port on the rear of the PC, the sync worked as a charm
I hope this will be helpful to someone, bye!
I also have a problem with HTC Sync on my laptop running vista 32 bit. I've installed it in the past but when it's installed it seems to interfere with my internet connection, basically slowing the connection down, it's as if it's stopping then starting over and over again. For example if im downloading or using youtube it will download a bit then hang for a couple of minutes or hang forever. Then when i uninstall Sync the internet is fine again.
To be honest i don't really use Sync but i'd like the option to be able to use it without messing up my internet.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening?

SD card not responding when connected as disk drive

Hi
I have a big issue whereby when I connect my desire to my laptop as a disk drive I am unable to copy any files across.
My computer recognises the phone and opens up windows explorer (albeit very slowly) but when I try to navigate around the folders it just hangs until i get a notification telling me that windows explorer is not responding.
I have tried 3 different cards, all with the same results. In addition I have had my phone replaced and both the old phone and the replacement are the same. Have also tried 2 different cables.
Cards have no problem connecting in a card reader.
I am using windows 7 64 bit. I am also unable to connect to HTC sync.
I am convinced that this is a windows 7 issue. I am aware that others on the same OS have no issues but I can't see what else the problem could be.
Anyone else had this issue and found a fix?
This is now driving me insane so any help would be most appreciated.

have you checked you have the latest drivers installed on your computer for your phone?
also make sure your usb cable is connected to the main usb ports on your computer not any hubs or anything
First of all you have to install the "windows mobile device center"
When you connect the HTC to your computer, there pops a window up, where you can choose, between sync and fast data travel. have you tried this out?
if the window is not there go to settings-->connections-->USB to Pc and change it there. (not in the touch flo settings. there you have to go to MORE and there are this settings)
maybe this helps
Cheers, stephan1
sorry cgrec92 ... I was writing this while you posted your answer
Thanks for the response guys.
Have tried connecting via all 4 of the usb ports so this doesn't seem to be the issue. Have also uninstalled the drivers and then plugged the device back in to reinstall drivers but with no luck. Have also downloaded the adb driver from the net but with no joy.
Is mobile device centre not exclusively for windows phones?!
Keep the ideas coming!

Erhhh.... are you aware that this is the Desire forum, which is an Android device and not Windows Mobile?
To the OP: seems to me that you've tried everything connected to the phone/cables, but haven't tried connecting to a different PC. I've no problems with Windows 7 x64, but I would suggest that you plugging your device into a different PC.

adp driver for windows

Just want to point out a flaw, but also ask for help. I have just moved into a new house which has no internet. I have a good data plan on my desire and great reception, so I thought I would try using the internet share option when using usb connected to a Windows 7 pc. Windows says it can't find a adp driver.... how stupid. Does that mean the computer needs to be online to download the driver before you can share the internet?
I don't have heaps of downloads on my phone plan so can't download the android sdk as o have read elsewhere as it has the driver.
Any help?
Maybe you should change your alias to OfflinePredator ;-)

HTC sync from SD card worked. Thanks guys. Pdanet did not have the driver, I tried that before.

Issue with Native USB Tethering in Windows 7

Hey all. Phone freakin rocks, and the OTA update to allow us to use WHAT SHOULD'VE BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE is great.
However, I'm having issues with getting the native USB tether to work.
I connected my phone to my Windows 7 Pro 32-bit netbook with USB debugging enabled. It said it needed drivers, so I had it install the necessary drivers. It was having problems with the ADB USB drivers so I found the solution on this forum and installed the fixed driver.
I go to the Settings menu in the phone, go to Tethering and enable USB tether. After a small delay, Windows 7 tells me there was some a problem installing the device driver, no driver found. Device Manager shows "Android Phone" under Other, and no matter what I point to the USB driver won't work.
I disconnect the phone, turn off USB debugging, and reconnect. Same problem.
I disconnect again, turn USB debugging back on, reconnect, and told it to turn on Mass Storage. Still no dice.
I'm puzzled here, as numerous reports state that It Just Works. Wonder why I'm having issues.
I haven't permrooted just yet - still using Visionary. Let me know if this is an issue.

USB Tethering
Here, I had this posted under USB Tethering. You just need an INF file.
You got the OTA update that enables wifi calling and usb/wireless tethering, right?
On your G2 Go to Settings, Wireless & networks, Tethering & portable hotspots, Help.
Under this help guide, go to the website link for USB listed there.
Go to this website and choose "USB Tethering with Windows XP"
Download the INF file "tetherxp.inf"
On your G2 check the "USB tethering" option, and connect your G2 via USB cable to your computer. Instead of using windows to automatically seach for drivers, direct the wizard to the "tetherxp.inf" file.
This will also work for Windows 7 if your having problems tethering there.

Yeah, I saw that help link. I didn't think I needed it since I was on a Windows 7 machine. I'll go take a crack at it since at worst I'll just be back at square one.

Hey guys, I can't tether my G2 / Vision to my Windows 7 64-bit machine either. Same issue as you all are having. The tetherxp.inf seems like it might work, but possibly only on 32-bit machines.
Is there a driver that will work on Windows 7 64-bit?

I got this working once using drivers downloaded from this forum. They worked.... S l o w l y. Maybe my laptop's usb sucks, but in any event it was enough to drive.me crazy.
I got MUCH better performance using wifi tethering. I just use the usb cable to keep the wifi & 3g radios from sucking the battery dry.

Im on a Windows 7 64bit machine and Tether(wireless and USB), ADB and Fastboot all work perfectly, I had to install HTC sync to my home computer to get the right drivers. The HTC sync program doesnt work with the Tmobile G2only with the Desire Z because it is Sense based, but it will install the right drivers for the G2, just install it from the following link and then hook up your G2 or Desire Z to your computer and it will install the right drivers for you:
http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1058&news_id=804
Just a side note make sure you are using the micro USB cable that shipped with the phone, some people were having problems using other micro USb cables.
WOW
You guys still haven't figured this out? I've been USB tethering on my XP/Vista/and 7 box since the day i got the new OTA. You need the proper drivers and also have to configure windows to use RNDIS.
It is truly that simple. I've walked many people through this already and have now started charging!
BTW
All of the methods described by the majority of the members on this site are just way too many steps. You don't have to do anything other than install 2 proper drivers. You don't need PDANet nor do you need HTC sync. You just need to be tech savvy enough, not fone savvy.

Seriously, I've seen u post the same thing in forum after forum without actually helping anyone... do that business or get the pot. Why on earth would you rather have people email u privately for your "wisdom" instead if just posing it?

here is the link to the driver for win7 and vista:
handheld.softpedia.com/progDownload/HTC-Hero-Drivers-Download-81097.html
here is where I found it at:
ozamora.com/2010/11/usb-tethering-htc-g2/ (the forum bot doesn't let me post a link with http:...etc. so you have to copy and paste the address yourself)
you can also search google for HTC_Driver_64.zip or HTC_Driver_32.zip
if the option to install doesn't come up automatically when you connect your G2 to your PC via USB do one of the following: hold down the windows key and hit the Pause/Break key OR click the start button (left lower corner of your screen), then find the word 'Computer' on the right of the start menu. Right click on it and click properties on the sub-menu that pups up. If you did it right you should be at "Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System". In the left upper corner click on Device Manager. Find the device with the yellow triangle, it should say something like unknown Android device. Double click it and then click update driver. On the GIU that comes up do not select automatic, select browse my computer for driver software. Click browse and navigate to the folder where you saved and unzipped the HTC driver like "C:\Users\username.computername\Downloads\G2_HTC\HTC Driver". Be sure to check the option include subfolders. Click next, follow propts and you are done. You want to be smart about this for future use copy the uzipped driver folder to the SD card of your phone.

You may very well be retarded. You clowns sound like the guys from the HTC forum pertaining to this. Learn how to read. I've helped more people than I could even count with this particular problem, and what's a scamer? You really shouldn't be playing with your cell phone. Actually no, keep it up. HAHA.
"Wisdom", I'm not about to walk a million noob's (no offense, i am one too) through something so easy that they have made difficult for themselves. I'm not on the level of many of the guys on this site to be walking anyone through anything on a forum, though if I had to do it, I'd prefer an audience who would understand my direction. Both of you palsy stricken idiots definitely do not fall into that category, which is probably why you didn't receive my help previously. You can't post a definitive solution to a problem that could arise from a number of different scenarios, and even if you could, I never claimed to be up for it.
Hope you've both learned how to use Windows and your phones.
Guys.... The purpose of this thread is to help people, not alienate them.
Anyway, HTC sync may not be the *best* way to get the drivers on the phone, but it's certainly one of the easiest to explain. All that matters is getting the ndis drivers somewhere windoze will find them.
I said before in this thread that I got better performance using wifi tethering, but that's probably because the usb on my laptop has an attitude problem (adb issues even on a fresh windows install). Best part of that option is that the driver issue is avoided.

Dude, go to your device manager.
Find the Device with the little ? and then maybe a yellow !.
Right click that device and select Update Driver.
When the window pops up (on Windows 7 32bit), select, Browse My Computer for driver software, then on the next screen, click on the bottom that says, LET ME PICK.
Then it will ask you the device type.
Here you go down to Network Adapters.
Then when it asks you to select manufacturer, skip Microsoft and select Microsoft Corporation.
Then, select Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device.
Hit next, it will say it's not safe, etc etc, proceed to install it.
You should be set. I hope that helps.

[Q] Not able to pair my HTC One X with windows 7 laptop using Bluetooth

I did google for this problem and found that many users have faced this problem but could not find any finite working solution for this. I'm getting the same error: Bluetooth peripheral device driver not found. Has someone in this community faced this and found a solution to it. It's very frustrating to not being able to connect it to my PC using BT.
I did not have this problem
I am using Windows7 with my Sony Vaio 14p (also supports Bluetooth 4.0) and did not encounter with any problems transferring files from the device to the laptop.
First thing I suggest you to try is a cheap Bluetooth dongle that supports BT 4.0
my Pavillion DV6 connects ok. What type of laptop have u?
I'm having the same issue with my HOX and my Lenovo X220 tablet.
During the drivers install in Win7, a peripheral device driver isnt found. My Desire HD works fine though.
