Hello,
I'm not sure if this is all covered within the Nexus 7 2013 freezing and rebooting threads, didn't see these symptoms. But the situation that happens is thus:
When it happens: Touch intensive Games (drastic, MMOJ, Dumb Ways) appears to be when the 3D GPU is NOT in use, netflix, when paused for a short while.
What happens:
1. Screen does not update display appears frozen
2. No response from nav bar icons
3. Power, volume buttons give no response.
4. If audio was playing right before it froze, it will keep playing as if nothing wrong.
5. If I hit the power button or the nav button then let it sit for a few minutes, suddenly it will react to every press I did in quick motion and go back to normal.
5a. I had show touches enabled, which showed a random number of the frozen touches working in quick succession when it "unfroze"
6. Sometimes requires a hard restart with no response.
When it started: Right before the Q update starting rolling out, did not have issues out of the box.
Purchase date and location: Right around the time of launch from best buy, 32 GB 2013 version
Troubleshooting steps: Safe mode (doesn't appear as often), full factory restore to the Q image when the R image started rolling out. Issues were gone for a short timeframe, then returned
Config information: Stock, latest firmware version, rooted via TWRP (latest version installed), and SU.
Observation: Appears to occur in select situations, and I believe I always have a GMAIL notification right when it un-freezes.
Let me know what you think and if it should be merged with a different topic, didn't see anything about it un-freezing when it was frozen or audio still playing.
Hi
I have a problem with the soft keys and home button on my Note 8. They will work find responsing to both finger and s-pen touch. They then stop responding to finger touch althoug the menu and back buttons continue to respond to the s-pen. The problem is real intermittent because after a while they will start responding to finger touch again. I was on the Flex ROM and thought that this might be a problem so reverted to stock. This did not fix the problem. Has anyone had a similar issue? I thought it might be a hardware issue but when I boot into recovery the soft keys work fine.
Cheers
Richard
Anyone else having a problem with a dead spot at the bottom of the home button? That's the only problem I'm having work the phone other than not getting nougat. Not sure if it's a bug or a messed up digitizer.
I had a deadspot somewhere near the keyboard's backspace button. Upgrading to Nougat seems to have fixed it.
Today i updated to the new stable android P update and these two buttons appeared, at first i thought that they were duplicate edge buttons. These two have the same function as the back key.
Fixed it, it was one hand operation+ glitching out.
As the title says, HTC 10 with the latest official updates. The capacitive buttons are often unresponsive. They also often give phantom touches. As they control the back button or the multitask button, this is a problem and often leads to back presses when I don't want it, or it will not go back.
I've already set the pointer speed to the lowest which should reduce sensitivity. It isn't as bad as it was but it still is pretty bad.
Any fixes? I've been looking at installing a 3rd party ROM like LineageOS hoping that it might fix the capacitive button problem.
