(zipalighn signed all that how do i do that?) or do i have to? since i really didnt change anything except grafix... so i just zip it back up or do i have to do something speacial....... if anyone could help me with this i would be very greatfull.............. thank you
so i dont want to sound like a complete noob but does anyone know where i can find a fb21 recovery? i am about to install [ROM][TN] MIJJz BLEND ICS [FB21] "THE GOODNESS" [WIP][2/23/2012] however, im a little confused because it says after flashing the rom be sure to install a recovery. Now, i do know that fb17 has a rogue recovery but according to the posts people are having issues with it because it is not made for fb21. I have searched for one for fb21 but cant seem to find one compatible with it. There are a few things for this rom that require flashing to have full capabilities and would like to do so.
Thanks to anyone who can give me a little input.
No they are working on re-packing CMW with a fb21 kernal. You can try the fb15 as you can always odin back to 21. Some people are using rom manager and flashing the recovery fron at&t, but i readnis not a good idea.
E4GT=IPhone killer
Exactly what he said. Also, when using the FB15 recovery you will keep a bootanimation too, which is a must for me =D. disclaimer- I used FB17 with no issues, so if you decide to use it, you should be fine, if it has issues just odin to fb15 again.
thank you for that. Just flashed the rom and recovery works great so far (a little lag but that will soon be fixed im sure). I did get yellow triangle but i dont really care to much about that. Do you happen to know why when i connect the device to the computer it is not mounting the sd card?
also does anyone know where i can get a stock mms.apk? i cant recieve any texts on here and this is what was said to make it work. Problem is idk where to get that.

The ICS builds aren't recognizing the sd cards yet mang! it's an issue everyone has until it's fixed. Hmm which FB21 did you flash? I don't have any issue on stock deodexed FB21, but I wasn't getting text's on TNZ Blend ICS when I tried it, but I believe he has a fix for it. If your on stock I'm honestly not sure because I haven't had any issue with text messaging at all.

Lol shoot sorry, just noticed you said you were going to BLend ICS lol duh! my bad mang. I think his fix was to delete the mms smiley.apk, to do this you need a file explorer with read/write permissions, such as root explorer or something similar then go into system/app and find the mms smiley.apk and delete it and you should be good.
awesome thank you!! just delete it or replace it? i saw that on the fourm it says to replace it with stock mms but idk where to get that. but other than that looks now all I have to do is wait on some more development of ics and ill be golden!!

No problem. Just noticed he updated the thread for his rom, your correct, before he had said just to delete but I guess people were still having issues with the mms.apk. I guess the way to get the mms working now is to delete the original mms.apk, and get a different mms.apk from another rom. The deletion process is the same for getting rid of the original mms.apk (root explorer method) to get the new mms.apk, just go ahead and download another ics rom that's based of the build version your using (fb17, fb21) extract the zip and go through the files (can't remember where it's located exactly) but find the mms.apk and place it on your sd card. Than, using root explorer agian or something similar, move the mms.apk from your sd card to your system/app and paste it there, and you should be good. That's all if you want the original mms icon, and be able to receive messages with it. If you just wanna receive texts, then install a 3rd party mms app off of the market and just disable notifications and it should work. I'm not the best at explaining this stuff but hope this helped broski!
When I back it up it saves the file successfully, but then whenever I try to access the file I can't find it. I have hidden files enabled but I still can't see it. What am I doing wrong? Does it have something to do with the fact that my SPC reads 00000000?

After a lot of frusturation I managed to backup the QCN and generate a new one, then restore it into the phone. I will update later on whether or not that worked, but I think it probably did. Thanks a lot to all of the helpful posts and apps on the forum, I will definitely be sticking around.

I have the same problem, how do you find the file?
So i'm on this thread here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
And i'm trying to extract the file under Koodoo using the 7 zip file manager. i keep getting the message it can't open because it isn't archived...So i googled when that happens, apparently the file is curropt? Don't see how since no one else seems to have complained about the file and i didn't touch it after download. So, any help would be appreciated...i just rooted my phone today so i'm beyond a noob. Thank you for your help!
I would try a different program to extract it. And maybe redownload and try again.
P.S- If you just rooted your device your are still very much a noob.

LOL, when i meant beyond a noob, i meant i was worse than a noob, not better off. And could you suggest any other programs that would uninstal a .7z? I didn't even know that extension existed until today...Winrar doesn't cover it.

Like Task suggested, chances are that you'll have to redownload the file. A corrupted file won't show just like that so it could look perfectly fine but actually be corrupted.

I've re-downloaded it 4 different times . And it won't let me post on the thread to notify the OP due to my thread count.
When you right click, are you choosing "open archive" or "extract someplace"?
I'm having the same issue with the Telus rom from that link. Unable to extract the .7z file.
Downloaded it twice already, currently downloading it for the 3rd time now. tried using WinRar and 7-Zip....no luck!
So I downloaded the stock image from microsoft for the duo, unpacked and made some changes that I would like to some of the img files (system, boot, etc). But I have not done a repack of the payload.bin file ever.
Does anyone know how to do that? This is the last step for me and I have been looking all over the place but cant find anything. Any help would be appreciated!
Did you ever figure this out?
No I still havent figured it out. Im so close to making the changes I need on my phone just need to figure out the repack.
