Hi guys I have a little issue with my s note .... I did not back up my S Note folders those original which you get with the phone .... I was trying to download those files everywhere but with no success so now is xda my last hope to get those files back please send some link to download please be so kind .... My Phone is SGNote 2 SGH-I317M from rogers but I think that those files are same on every model
What folders are you talking about? The preloaded templates?, If so here you go SNote If this isn't it let me know, I have an AT&T stock image torn apart on my computer to I should be able to get what you need.
Download whole folder and inside should be all the templates inside each sub-folder. What you will need to do is move each subfolder (Business, Education, IdeaSketch, Lifestyle) to /system/preload/snote/S%Note on your phone. Sorry but I've never had much luck making .zips to flash so you'll have to do it manually, unless someone else wants to do it.
Edit--> not sure why, but, looks like you may have to download each one individually and rebuild the sub-folders.
yeah this is what I needed
yeah... exactly this is what I'm talking about thanks so much my man
Glad I could help
There are some .zip files that I will install in recovery mode and will confirm installation. When I reboot the phone, the apps or mods that I install will not have installed. I am stock rooted on Galaxy Note 2 on JB. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

Ok. Example: Say I take a .zip file that you have made for me and I download it. I boot into recovery mode and find the file and flash it, gives me the message that it has completed but when the phone reboots it's no where to be found. Did it not install or is there a place I need to look on my phone that it might be hidden?
just because its a zip file, doesnt mean it has the install routine baked into it..
As Twansky said, what is the file, and what is it for?

Ok. The files that I've tried would be mods for toggles, keyboards, and different add ons. For the most part, all of the files that I've flashed have worked. The ones that didn't work I'm not disappointed that they didn't, I was just wondering if possibly there was something or somewhere that I needed to look to see if they actually did but needed to activate per say. Could you explain what you mean by "install routine baked in" please. I'm a noob and learning everyday.
Thank you
some of those zip files, were probably just a bunch of individual files, zipped up to save room, and make them just 1 file insted of many..
a "flashable" zip file will have a few folders, one being meta.inf, another being system, along with some others...
post one of those zips that you are having a problem with here, and we will take a look at it..

Wase, let me see if I still have them on my phone. I know a couple that I tried were rom specific but one worked and one didn't. Those are the ones I expected not to work. Give me a minute to see what I still have.

This is one that didn't work that is for ROM XXDLL4. Another file that I downloaded is the glass dialer did work. What I guess I'm asking is, why would one work but not the other. I know these were fir that specific rom, I'm just confused on why one would work and not the other.

Sorry, I did not answer that part.
Boot into recovery>Find location where file was downloaded>Click to install>Confirm install>Install confirmed>Reboot.
I have tried wiping cache and not wiping cache.
Open up these "zips" and look inside..
yeah, it was a flashable zip..no idea why it wouldnt work, but, as you said, this is not a mod for our phone specifically, so that might be why..Just like anything else electronic, not every rom/mod/flashable file is going to work on every phone; thats just the way it is...

Exactly... use caution flashing "flashable" zips unless you know for a fact it accomodates your specific device. You need to look in the META-INF folder and review the updater-script. In there you will see specific BLKs (partitions) which are mounted/extracted/written/unmounted. Devices don't all use the exact same "/dev/block/mmcblk0xx" for /system or /data partitions. Some of these scripts are fairly universal but I've seen others which call specific devblock partitions.
Thank you everyone for the help on this. I finally got brave enough about a hour ago and flashed a custom rom fir the first time.
Thanks again for all the help and info.
I'm trying to get my ROM all smoothed out. It a catch 22 system. I can load the sony xperia walkman and get it functioning properly, or I can install gapps. If I do one I can't do the other for some reason. So, I went with the walkman. Now I'm trying to figure out how to turn the gapps zip into a good apk file to load with android tuner from my sd card. Is that even possible? I was able to manually install a few of the apk's from the zip file, but 90% wouldn't install. I assume because I haven't figured out how to install the supporting files. How can I get the play store functioning, even in a barebones state? There has to be a way... this is Android!!! Lol As I stand now, I have the play store icon, but it only loads for a fraction of a second. No message of any kind. It just doesn't work. Any suggestions would be nice. I'm on the Bleu Mynt ROM if that helps you any.

You and that walkman app, hahahaha, your like me,"never give up",but anyway, open the zip file with the gapps inside and look at the folder structure, add the files to their respective folders on your rom, then you need to look at the updater script, which is in the META folder and see what needs to be symlinked and add the correct permissions for them to work correctly, you can also skip most of the bs,by just downloading what you need from the playstore,as far as gapps goes.Trial and error, you just have to keep playing with it until you get it right,it could be the rom,try a different rom also.

There is no other ROM son.... I'm only going to have the best. Period. Thank you for the answer. I'll work on it later. I'm going to go do some extra work today so I can afford the Galaxy S4 I was talking about buying. Lol
EDIT-----> My extra work got cancelled, so I can play with this all day today.... Makes me happy.
I moved all the files except for the lang_pico file because I noticed it was all languages besides english. I left it out. Is this okay? Everything is in the proper place but the update-binary and updater script. It's encoded and I do not know the name of the code to research. Can you tell me what language it is, and if 7-7ip or Notepad++ needs a plug-in to read/write or otherwise edit the script? What do I need to research here?
EDIT-----> I'm looking for something called Update.zip Manager 3.0. Is this a tool that will help me?

Here use this to decompile and compile apk's.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2213985
Thanks for that link. I can see I'm gonna have to do a lot more research before I embark on that journey. I need to get familiar with the terminology first. In the mean time, I found a pretty awesome ROM that loaded up everything I need with no problems, and it's very well put together. It's kinda plain, compared to the cool factor of the Blue Mynt theme, but it functions rather well. It's a good trade off. The ROM I have now is the Supersonic Unofficial CarbonROM by Wambo_Bombo. Have you seen this? My question is, do you have anything in the works coming down the pipe? I'd love to have something like this with your theme genius. Thank you for trying to help me sort things out with Bleu Mynt. I know you're a busy guy, and it was, and is appreciated. Let me know ASAP when you have a new release please.

Read my sticky in android/general... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466228
This problem is finally resolved. I found this and it works consistently on every ROM that I couldn't load gapps and the walkman on before. They are called Zgapps. Check them out if you aren't familiar. Maybe you know somebody else who could benefit from them.

Thank you for being friendly and always trying to help me. I'm sure you get bombarded with questions, so I try to do things on my own first. I'm learning as fast as I can. I appreciate your help over the stumbling stones.
So I downloaded the stock image from microsoft for the duo, unpacked and made some changes that I would like to some of the img files (system, boot, etc). But I have not done a repack of the payload.bin file ever.
Does anyone know how to do that? This is the last step for me and I have been looking all over the place but cant find anything. Any help would be appreciated!
Did you ever figure this out?
No I still havent figured it out. Im so close to making the changes I need on my phone just need to figure out the repack.

Have you tried Super's Kitchen? I'm presuming this is something that could work! Never tried it though!
Here's the link to the tool in XDA
