There is no relation between zune and that app.
PS: Yeah, I also think this is a homebrew... but I am not really sure.
There is no connection between the two. You should be able to install apps from zune, but not by using a deployer. Zune deploys the app its self. So there is no reason to want to use any deployment tool to install apps from zune to phone, you should try using eried's desktop marketplace, as it is the best way to get apps and also deploy's them to phone. If you are trying to deploy large games as app from zune or from your phone, you will have to use wifi to download the app and install.
This is Eried's deployer , the thing is it works great, I really dont use Zune at all ,I only use this program , but I tried Zune the other day and the marketplace apps show , but the download button isnt showing ,so I cant download anything off of zune , I have 2 Samsung focus, one works fine (now hacks ,just stock) and my regular use fone with all the hacks, this just started a few days ago, I havent changed any registry settings other than unlock
Well in zune take for instance, if you wanted twitter, you would click on free and then accept. then it will launch and install. thats how it did me, it didnt show a download either for me.
IT WASNT SHOWING THE FREE BUTTON! Its fixed now though!

Are you tired of the same old boring activesync or wmdc for your Windows mobile device? All of us who have used Microsoft’s so-called sync utility know that it’s nothing compared to their Zune software which they have created. Anyway, you’re now in luck. I have finally gotten to the edge of my patience trying to sync up my phone with their software and ive started making my own replacement for it. Currently, Hydros Sync Center supports being used as a normal music player as well as a device sync utility. Due to it being only a beta, you will not be able to transfer files with the phone, but already it is much more user friendly than the old Activesync. All you need to do to install is unzip the package and run the setup.exe installer.
UPDATE: Tutorial has been posted at hydrosmobile.com on adding widgets
Current Features in beta 3
[*]Install cabs from computer
[*]Pictures library
[*]Autosync of music to device
Add and remove songs to your media library
Play songs
a wave to view your songs being player (just for fun)
RSS Feed reader
Widget Support
Box.net online storage (you cannot sync with it yet but you can now login and view details about account and files in it)
Supports mp3, wav, and wma files. I couldn’t think of any more but please tell me if i missed any important ones
View general info about windows mobile device (like battery and memory)
View Songs on device
Play songs from device to computer through the library
Upcoming Features
Automatically sync up with the device
Sync up videos and pictures on device
View videos and pictures on computer
Wifi sync
Eliminate the need for activesync to be installed
Hydros Mobile app (for locationing)
Online Marketplace ( just finished...will post it up in beta 2)
Login with other accounts in the internet (ex. Yahoo and google)
Better UI
Widgets for Home panel
Auto Updating the app

this is a mobile addition like mobileme in which you will be able to track your phone if it gets lost. This is not available yet and it wont be until the full version of Hydros comes out. Both Hydros and Hydros Mobile are free and open source software

This is a sync software and part of the definition of a sync software is the idea of being able to access your files. I hope there is no misunderstanding but this needs access to your box net account because it needs to sync up files. If you like windows mobile device center, then go ahead and use it but I want to be clear on what my software does.
so anybody got any other ideas they want me to implement into this app for replacing activesync?
beta 3 is posted and it has cab install feature + pictures library + some bug fixes so it doesnt freeze too much + AUTO SYNC!!!
-Check it out in first post
i know this might be a tall order, but could you make your sync center like the one provided by HTC for Android phones (HTC Sync)
that eye candy is just irresistible!
wow thats tall. could you please post a pic of it? i could try to make a theme. Problem is that sync utility doesnt actually "play" music.
Hi All

Yes, that's great and very convenient. WP7 is a huge progress in this respect.
You can also print the office document and send it to yourself via FedEx
(I want my USB mass storage back)

yes that is a real big - for wp7
Could be added simple by microsoft , just make another folder called Documents , and let it sync
same as Music, videos , potcasts , pictures .
but we early adopters have to live with it I think .
I think they (Microsoft) will change things like this really quick .

Agreed. I hope so.
Otherwise I believe many users will jailbreak their WP7 phone in order to get this essential feature back.

lol , only tweakers like us will jailbreak the phone (even when it isn't needed) , 99% of the users don't do that.
I know a lot of people that have a iphone and non of them are jailbreaked .
and that is the same for android and wm 6.*.*
Yeah I think they focused too much on Sharepoint integration.
Which by the way only supports Sharepoint 2010 when most businesses haven't upgraded yet.
I agree there should be document syncing in Zune just like there was in Active Sync.
thing was, i was out for the day working away had no gprs dongle as i left it at home and had a word doc to send. ohh i thought i know ill bluetooth it to my mozart no cant do that, ohh ill use the cable no cant to that. So it turns out office mobile is a waste of time on my mozart.

Also, there are too many services: Sharepoint, Live, Zune, Hotmail, Skydrive, Mesh, etc... It is a REAL MESS.
Office documents shall be easily transferrable via USB cable, from any PC.
ZUNE (or any specific soft) cannot be the answer since not all the PC will have Zune on it.
Hey Guys
a simple tip for sending things to your computer
if you have a PC you can use the "map network drive" to create a drive which will sync with your skydrive.
so i use that to drag and drop files onto skydrive on the PC which i can access easily on my phone.
or you can download windows live mesh!

I'm an Android user so don't know if this applies to Windows Phone, but many people seem suprised when I tell them I xfer docs, music, files, etc quickly & easily with Dropbox. It really doesn't get much easier. Sure, a lot of people already know this, but many seem to overlook it too! But bring a new platform and all, there may not be a Dropbox app.
Also, I use ftp lots too. I have both a server and client app on my phones and they both work great. Again, not sure if this applies either tho, but maybe. I use Swiftp as a server, and andFtp as a client, both of which work great. If by chance they are available on WP. If not, maybe there is something similar.
Anyway, just some ideas. I probably don't know what I'm talking about tho, so ill go back to my own section . Hope ya find what you're looking for. I hate when I need a file and dont have access to it. Luckily there are some great tools available to make sure that rarely happens!
PS: Google Docs seems to be getting more and more serious in the mobile world as well. Today the just added editing capabilities on mobile devices.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
WM 6.X.X has Dropbox or Box.net clients also (Kinoma or ruttensoft Cloufiles).
But the problem is still here and still the same:
If someone has some office docs in his PC and you want to import them you will not ask this person if you can install Dropbox on his pc. And what if he does not have Internet connection?

SharePoint isn't a consumer Service. It's part of what Microsoft used to call BackOffice back in the day, if they still used that term (along with IIS, Exchange, SQL Server, etc. - basically what comes with Microsoft Windows SBS).
Live Mesh is part of SkyDrive, just like Windows Live Photos was killed and integrated into SkyDrive. Office Web Apps are also part of SkyDrive. It's one service. There is just an application you install on you PCs to Sync Files from them onto that specific area of you SkyDrive.
Windows Live Photo Gallery Syncs directly to SkyDrive. Office Web Apps save directly to SkyDrive and if you use Microsoft Office (desktop Applications) with SkyDrive it saves directly to SkyDrive. Hotmail/Calendar/Contacts are all basically one service. To-Do Lists (i.e. Tasks) are integrated into Calendar and supported fully by Windows Live Mail, as is all functionality of those components.
There are basically 3 Services: SkyDrive, Hotmail, Zune - all running off the same Windows Live ID (if you're organized).
There USED to be too many services, because everything was once separate. SkyDrive, Windows Live Photos, Spaces, Office Live Workspaces, Calendar, etc. was all separate. That's what Google is dealing with now, and trying to fix. Remember all the humbug about having different Google Profiles depending on which service it was? Picasa and Google Docs aren't related outside of their brand, things like that. Microsoft has fixed much of that and integrated the products quite well in Wave 4.
The only people who are suffering are those on Windows XP because they cannot install and use the update client applications (Live Essentials 2011).
Zune needs to be its own service. The same way iTunes isn't integrated into MobileMe for Microsoft and I'm sure Google Music will be as decoupled as everything else Google has when they release that (although the media industry seems to be quite apprehensive of Google these days).

Use SkyDrive. Most people won't wait until they get into basically a no-signal area to get their files transferred over.

awesome!! thanks for the tip!
If you use Microsoft Office (2003 and above) to edit a file on SkyDrive it automatically maps it as a "Network Place" on your computer, BTW, after you open the first file.

Thanks for this useful clarification N8ter.
Still I think it's a bit complicated, and services shall be more integrated.
I think they will have issues trying to integrate them "more" than they already have.
Couple Windows Phone 7 with Windows 7 + Live Essentials, and it's hard to get more integrated with such a good workflow [than they already are].
I'm sure there are areas where the integration can be made tighter, though.
Also I made a typo. I said "... iTunes isn't integrated into mobileMe for Microsoft..."
Microsoft should be "Apple."
Adding Word Documents to WP&
I'm confused on how to send word documents to WP7. I added the documents to Skydrive but I don't see them in my phone. Anybody know what is the ebst way to do it? Thank you
So here is a strange one, and I was wondering if someone knows how to do this correctly.
With my new phone I am using the same Windows Live account as my other WP7 device. It automatically downloaded a few of the games I had on my Samsung, but not others. Like maybe a third of my games showed up.

I think the only way now is manually install all the apps and game you had purchase in marketplace by browsing the marketplace all over again...
Some nice tips to ease this progress, use Zune software rather than your WP7 when browsing the marketplace for more efficient
Thanks
OK, it looks like I have to do it on the phone actually. On the computer, I click "Buy" and then it says the game is already purchased, but doesn't present me with an option to re-install, but on the phone it does.
Either way, it is still odd that some games downloaded and installed on their own, while others didn't.

zune can't tell what apps you purchase directly on the phone. Only ones that you buy/download through the zune software.
I have talked to the zune support team and they are trying to add the functionality in a future update of zune.

BINGO! That makes total sense as to why only a few auto downloaded.
Thankfully, NoDo made the marketplace 100x better to use. I was able to quickly find the apps and que them all up without any crash. A minute later, all my games were in their hub.
Lesson to be learned here: Download apps through Zune if at all possible.
The idea should be implemented into windows live or Zune that automatically resyncs all of your apps if you switch a device. I know there is an app to recover this info but it would be very nice upon initial setup that it give u the option to add the most recent apps from your last device. I love how simple windows live makes of syncing your contacts during initial setup. This process would involve the device doing a backup save of your last device
Sent from my Venue Pro using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
A while back MS had a job posting asking for someone to help with exactly this. I suspect it means this feature will come proabaly with Apollo.

This is one of the best features of later android setups:
Setup gmail account, allow it to sync, and depending on connection speed between 5 and 15 minutes later, all your apps, info, contacts, even the wallpaper are exactly as the last device.
Using 3-4 different devices at once (same login) is as painful as swapping a sim.
Awesomeness.
Apollo = speculation, and when ?
Even updating my phone I had to literally write down most of my apps becuase I didnt purchase the apps from my computer through Zune most of the time. It took me forever to get them back. So painful. I hope they implement this soon, that would be great
this is the app that I use, pretty damn useful

Hi,
Do have anyone news about coming apps for Windows 8 RT?
I'm happy with my Surface 2 but sometimes I'm thinking about the apps. So why they're need so much time to create any kind of app for Windows 8?
For example, "Candy Crush" is very popular on any system (iOS or Android) but why they need so long to think about it to implement this on Windows 8. I think Windows 8 is stable now and also ready for all these other apps.
What's your impression?
BR,
PatBadAzz
It's all about how many users you will get.
My impression is that the Facebook Flash version works just fine in IE on Windows 8/RT. The only reasons I can think of to have an app would be to play when no internet connection is available, or if you want to play it completely separate from Facebook. Then again, I'm kind of an app minimalist...
