TomTom Navigator vs iGO Primo on our HD Mini - HD Mini Themes and Apps

Hello everyone,
I wanted to share with you my views on the navigation software between TomTom Navigator and iGO Primo.
After several days of tests, I start to accustom me to iGO and I find that graphically, it is much more succeeds that Navigator.
I did not succeed in making function information TMC, but that all the same allowed me to test this browser!
More for iGO:
- Cartography in relief
- The 3D view of buildings, monuments and payasage
- Management day/night automatically
- Skin really adapted to the 480x320 resolution
- Although a little small, I find the posting of the more pleasant screen guidance.
More for Navigator:
- I find Navigator more stable: iGO crashed at several times and it has blocked the phone while I was full Guidance (forced to leave the phone battery to restart)
- I find the ergonomics of Navigator more intuitive (although that of the iGO is more complete)
Concerning the TMC on the iGO, I asks me if the fact of adding an external receiver by the micro USB might work?
Regards, JBS68

TomTom Navigator Version 7.917.9186 (vga black NOBT) and iGO Primo Version 1.1 (8.5.11.168090)

With iGO I meet a lot of stability problem. Frequently the phone crashes!
At each I receive a call while iGO is launched, the phone freezes! It's very annoying, especially since it happens while I'm driving .....
I think I'm going back to Navigator ....

TomTom Navigator and maps
Hello,
I'm sorry, but I'm new HTC HD mini user, I installed on my device and the ttn7.917.9186_vga_black_cuckoo.cab works ok, but I can not activate the map Italy 8.65.3259.
I follow the instructions correctly and the keygen I get the ok for the file. dct, but the device keeps telling me that the map should be activated.
I think that the keygen is not for tt7.9xx.
Can someone help me?

tomtom/igo
jbs68 share. With the mini igo hangs often. Tomtom much better with our phone. Tytn_adry friend, the map does not fit 865.3259 TTN 7.917.xxx but you have to put the map 865.3265. greetings

Sorry for my bad English but I don't understand,
TTn maps 8.65.3265 not exist in the tables of compatibility issued by TOMTOM.
Maps 8.65.3259 are compatible with TTn 7.4xx and 7.9xx.
What is wrong?

Thanks for interesting,
I found a appropriate keygen and I have activate map.
many thanks at all.

And there's more to come (when finished)
Nav2recent should work perfectly, just READ the howto and download it here : http://ppc.jhps.shacknet.nu/ Zip-pass is "xdatest"...
Navigate2 is downloadable too, but i only give out the password by mail or PM, since i want to know who is testing it
please give comments or bugreports !
(tested on WM2003 !)
Would you mind if i post a link to this topic to the guys at pocketgpsworld. They've developed a few tomtom addons and would probably be interested in this.
Be my guest, but like i said, i'm not giving the password for Navigate2 away to anyone...
I'd rather have some of the guys here test it first...
My final goal is NOT to make money out of it, but a FREE "navigate to appoinment location" tool available to anyone....
Why ? Because it STUPID that navigationsoftwar has a tool to navigat you to addresses you probably allready know (Your contactlist !), but NOT to addresses you drive to for the first time : APPOINMENT LOCATIONS...
If their willing to help : Great ! If they want to create a tool alike and 'hide' it on their site, or ask money for it: No way...
Just posted the link and hopefully it won't be abused.
The guys at pocketgpsworld have already developed and released (free) a tt5 addon called "POI Capture" which allows for quick saving of speed cameras of various types.
Good luck and i hope everything goes well.

I'm pretty fast expanding / Enhancing though :

mouse?

I have heard on some smart phones you could get a bluetooth mouse to pair and function with the phone. Does anyone know if this is possible with the dash?
Not that I heard of. What phone did you hear does this?

Yeah I couldn't find the thread I had read earlier. This was the closest I could find. I read somewhere that someone did get a bluetooth mouse to work with Excalibur. However now I can't find the article. He said the only problem he had was finding a mouse pointer program.
I was experimenting with something similar to his earlier today, although I desired the reverse method of control. I noticed that XP MCE device manager had a HID that was called Bluetooth Remote Control.
After a little search, I discovered a free application called Bluetooth Remote Control for Windows Mobile.
http://www.jaylee.org/remotecontrol/
I installed the application and was quite surprised that I could control my XP MCE laptop's Media Center as well as Windows Media Player with my HTC S620 (modded Dash). The application even utilizes the HTC display to display song information and also there is no line of sight requirement.
What I really wanted was to be able to control the PC's mouse and keyboard with the Smartphone. Not view the PC but just use the phone like a mouse and keyboard. The application has this ability (Screen Control) for PPC's but not completely for Smartphones. I was able to scroll up, down on a web page or application but that was all.
I installed FakeCursor and configured SmartToolKit to launch it from an extended keypress. Now I was able to move the mouse pointer on the laptop, a bit, and enter data via the HTC keypad. However, Fakecursor stopped sending data after it reached the edge of the Dash screen so I could not completely navigate the laptop.
If anyone is looking for a free remote control for audio/video application the application mentioned above would be a good start.
Any tips about the best way to use a Smartphone Standard without touch to control a PC would be welcomed.

[APP]Train Timetables tool - for Sydney (Australia) users

Hi all...
I've been developing bits and pieces of stuff on my phone for my own use and I thought I'd share this with you. Unfortunately it's only useful for people who live in Sydney as it relies on 131500.com.au (locals will know what I'm talking about). Although that service has its own "Mobile" version webpage, I find it very inefficient to type in addresses and not have it remember my last selection - especially since I'm usually already in a hurry if I ever find myself needing to check the timetables.
It's a tiny (but multi-threaded for uber-fast interface) program (30kbs) that remembers your last To/From train stations and will directly fetch the timetable for trains in the next hour in a WebBrowser control. And a single-button (reverse) that gives you the same timetable for the other direction on your way home.
Note: uses internet data! - but only a single page. Probably 1kb or so each time?
Limitations (as by the 131500 mobile service): unable to directly give timetable for connecting trains. ie: both stations must be on the same line
Requires: .NET Compact Framework
Compatible with QVGA/VGA/WVGA devices. But I'm posting under blackstone forum because that's the phone I use
Freeware - and all comments/suggestions etc welcomed. Many thanks!
P.S. At uni now.. so i've only included a crude screenshot. I'll post a proper one if i get a fair bit of interest in this. thanks
hey mate do you think it would be possible to do up a brisbane one?
If there's a website that allows you to look up the brisbane timetables I don't see why not. alternatively if you can source a soft copy of the timetable?
www.qr.com.au
are you able to grab it from there?
Very useful, thanks!

I've just sent an email to QR. Will see what they say first..
It's good but don't like the fact it connects to the net to get the info.
If you look at timetables, they are mostly always the same, so you can get the info currently right now and make an offline version in which the times are accessible whenever and whenever there might be a new timetable, such as the new Chatswood lines, there could be an update button just to get the new times.
Other than that, good start but definitely needs an offline version.

[APP] Remote control music played on your PC

Since my early WM days I was enviously looking at Nokia's Simple Center solution to remotely control music played on my PC from my WM device. Member "Magic" from the Swiss-German PocketPC forum found such a solution, made in Germany, available as a fully featured trial app in English or German:
1-2 Remote over WLAN and Bluetooth gives you access to your WMP or iTunes music collection, and lets you remotely play that music. Add a hardware audio transmitting/receiving solution to your PC, and you could send music to any given room, and control it from there on your HD.

If in return you want to listen to music from your PC or NAS on your HD take a look at Pocket Players UPnP networking solution (available as free add-on for PP).
wow what a great application, i just installed it, and it works great,
i have a bluetooth speaker that i use in the garden when having a BBQ but keeps cutting out due to reception, now i can run a speaker from pc to the garden and control the music from my phone with wifi when having a BBQ,
IF THE WEATHER GET BETTER. TOOOOO MUCH RAIN.............ARRGH
thanks for sharing this app.
That remind me an application called "Signal" http://www.alloysoft.com/
Anyway great app...
I've just installed this: http://www.jaylee.org/remotecontrol/ on my TD2 (posting here as this thread is where I found that it was possible to use WM in this way)
This one is not as polished as 1-2-Remote, but its free, it covers quite a few applications, although I've only tried it with itunes.
I initially ran into a problem of the TD2 not having any (easily/default) mapable keys, and thought this app was useless, but found that the keyboard itself could be used (small note, the keyboard I use can't use any of the QWERTY letters, but can use others including space etc, this does not effect the standard keyboard).
Have a try.
Hi i think this is a great application.
1-2 Remote has so many features, i will install Signal and give that a try as well and see which one is best.
i have looked at Bluetooth Remote Control for Windows Mobile, and it seem so simple but good points is that it is free.
still i will install it and see which one i will keep.
thanks for the posts

Here maps settings panel is blank

On my Eonon GA-2114 (800x480), the settings pane is completely blank. Is this a known issue of just my bad luck?

Unfortunately this is a known behavior and won´t fixed by the Here Support. I wrote with them several times. App is optimized to not use in Landscape Mode. Thats the matter. Start a Route, you can set some settings there.
Thanks! Is there a better offline mapping solution for the US? I tried Sygic, but depending on the direction of the wind, I was only able to access countries other than mine.
I tried following:
Navigon - Not Working with build in GPS Chip
Waze - Too Tiny, Only Online
Here - Missing Settings
Sygic - Ugly maps, malfunctions in settings, lose of maps after serveral times.
and others.
TomTom - Crashes with 3G Dongle connected.
I use TomTom with Wifi Stick now (so no crashes) and its working very well. Its for 19Euro per Year... seems to be ok.
You can try the latest google maps. Its able to store offline cards now tow. But i dont like the voice and the style...
Becareful upgrading to new version ..won't start on mine.. But all other devices working ok.. I went back to this version and working fine..

Also on a 1024x600 Pixel Android car hifi the settingspage is still blank. This must be only Software blocking our car Radios.
Has anyone found an App or Hack how to turn around the Screen to Switch the map Location to my external sd-card
