How would I do that?

U can conect your phone to a computer with a usb cable and do so or use a file explorer to move ur files...

Or you can use a file manager on your phone
Edit: woops mentioned above
I use Astro file manager. Go to MNT/EMMC/DCIM/100MEDIA and your photos should be in there. I would copy the 100MEDIA folder (Longpress/Edit/Copy or move, then move back up to MNT and go to SDCARD/DCIM/ and you can paste them there. Or you can just put them on the root of the card if you want.
Also you can set the camera to store to SD card in the camera settings.
Thank you BrettApple. The first couple pics i took (my grandparents and a party and such) were saved to internal because i didnt know of the option. Thank you guys!

Alright so when I take a photo, it saves just fine, and stays on it, But when I take the card out and than put it back in, they're erased for ssome reason. It just sstarted doing it yesterday, every picture I have saved from previous times stay there, only the new ones get erased. And its not only pictures i take. If I download an image off the web, when I pop my SD out than in, those get deleted to. So far videos dont get erased though. Anyone know why this is happening? I just formatted it now to troubleshoot but that didn't work
I'm running Syndicate frozen 1.2 and genocide kernel.
Thanka.

I just got a new class 10 sd card and I'm having a similar problem. I had to reflash SRF 1.2 for testing reasons and photos between flash were lost as well.
Same here, at first I thought it was EF02, still havnt narrowed it down. For me it happens when I copy ROMs, tweaks.zipz to the sdcard from pc, but what fixes it for me is just clicking/selecting the file, then unmount, it works...

Is everyone using Genocide 2.0 kernel?

Make sure you ALWAYS unmount your phone on the pc and turn off usb storage on your phone before unplugging. Prevents data corruption.

Are the photo files going into the LOST.DIR folder on the sd card or are they just disappearing?

Doesnt go into the LOST.DIR folder. And the space frees up on the SD card.
So its officially only doing it to the photo format files. I formatted my SD and than put everything back on it, put it in my phone, it scanned and it all showed up just fine.
Problem occurs when I take the SD out and than put it back in, the media scanner re-scans it and now every picture was deleted. All the videos, music files, zips, etc all stood on the SD card.
Just wondering why the heck only the images are being tossed...

Guess that means its not genocide. I'll try flashing back to Srf1.1 to see if that helps anything.
EDIT: So far so good with Srf1.1.1. I'll keep you guys updated.

Nevermind still does it on SRF1.1.1/twilight.
Guess only thing I can do now is odin than try reflashing everything.
Nobody has found a cure yet?

I found another forum that says it's an Android problem.
Ack.

I read somewhere that there is a 2gb limit per folder so maybe make sure those folders you are saving to is less than 2gb.
Hope that is the problem, cause I don't have that problem yet - I have a lot of different folders like birthdays, family and friends, automobiles, videos, etc.
Good luck, keep us posted!
I'm thinkin it may be somewhat my fault afterall. Whenever I normallu remove my SDcard I just pop it out without going to settings and unmounting ffirst. If I yo to settings aand unmount before I take the card out now the ffiles stay on it so far. I guess thats my "fix" for it if that keeps working correctly.
So anyone having this problem, unmount in settings/SD card and storage before removing the card and see it the files you'd normally lose stick.

I followed those rules. Also had to reflash the rom when a theme I was testing got stuck in a boot loop. Pics I had saved before thereflash disappeared after the reflash. I've formatted the card twice, as well.
Edit : K0nane says format using windows, someone phone format causes corruption.

I am not using stock card but a class 4 card. Over the 4th of july weekend I had Google services error, gapps error, a popup saying I had to wipe data partition it was corrupted, pictures all got wiped out...in 3 days. Had to Odin 3 times and only twice ever before that. At first I thought it was Genocide 2.0, then I thought maybe the ROM I was using, now I have no clue but no issues either. Hope maybe it was an Android System deal and they fixed it...but I lost all of my good wallpapers damnit! Lol

I dropped my phone the other day and my gallery and all the other apps that require my sd card say no SD card detected. I've tried two different cards and am convinced it is broken or not functional. Has anyone had this problem? If so, any fix for it?
Update: I booted up in to clockwork and it read it there.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Do you have a PC access to a SD Card Reader?
You could copy all the files off; format it (fat32) and then put the files back on and put it back in the phone.
I've already tried a different card and it didn't work either
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
If it reads it in clockwork I would try Odin to full stock and see if it works there. Best method for finding out if it hardware or software.

SD Card loses detection
My Samsung Epic 4G's SD card loses connection at random times. In the middle of recording a video, or when idle, and it will not restore full function until I restart the phone.
When it fails, I cannot take pictures or video, or view my gallery. It says no SD card detected. When viewing the "My Files" folder or storage space meter, it still shows the card's folder directories, the files in them, how much free space is available, and I can open and view individual files and photos from there, but I cannot delete or modify them until I restart the phone.
It could not be connected by USB to the computer through the phone. It made connect and disconnect sounds rapidly and repeatedly.
The card works fine and transfers files to the computer with the MicroSD card adapter.
Disconnect problem persists after I removed all videos and photos to free 95% of the 16gb card's space.
Should I reformat?
Hi, I recently noticed a .enref file that is 7kb big on the root of my sd card. I just flashed a rom to my EVO 4G as well, Digital Karma V8 Reincarnation. I formatted my sd card before installing the rom, so I know it is not from the rom itself. I opened up the file in a text editor, and in plain text the word "android" was displayed in it. Should I be worried about this file at all? What is it for?
Also, using es file explorer on my phone, I do not find the file on the root of my SD card. I will check again on my computer to see if it appears there and tell you guys.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Alright well I just checked, I can see it on ny Windows pc but not on my phone using es file explorer. Does anyone have a clue at all what this file is for?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
Anyone?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda app-developers app
A Google search doesn't turn up anything, so I'd either leave it and not stress over a 7KB file or rename it .enref.old, reboot and see if anything doesn't work. If so, you can always rename it back
Alright thank you for the information.

This is an old thread, but just in case anyone finds this thread through Google like I did, the .enref file is created by Evernote Food and can be safely deleted.

I found that my note 2 internal storage & CPU battery all used by Gallery, which is scanning my internal storage & external SD files to create thumbnails. And even worse, it created one stupid big file which is totally wrong. I tried deleted it, created a fake one. But more than thousands thumbnails keep generating. Any one has similar problem, or recommended solution?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'm new to the note 2 but you could try the .nomedia trick. Is there a particular folder where it's finding tons of thumbnails? Make a file called .nomedia and put it in that directory and it won't scan that folder. Kind of a hack but just to get the phone going.
Sent from my HTCEVOV4G using Tapatalk 2
Thanks, I did the trick. The problem is still the same. The Gallery automatically create one directory DCIM under sdcard, and also create .thumbna ils sub-directory under DCIM. I followed one solution here, create a directory name the same as the .thumbdata3--????. And it keeps this dumb file never being created again. Even though there are still a lot of tiny thumbnail files created, at least no more single dumb huge file error any more. FYI.
