Is there progress for Swype on AOSP roms such as CM7 or.. Others? I left Sense-based roms from EViO and while it was very fast, I don't see myself going back. The only thing I miss, however, is swype. Now, I know that XDA is the best damn crew of developers when it comes to 'phone' software. I still haven't seen any threads about it though. Is there progress?
What kind of progress are you looking for? Find an .apk for it, install it and voila! Now you have Swype on your AOSP ROM.
What I am doing: sign up for beta. Then install the beta.
While waiting to be accepted, try this: take swype.apk from system app and libswypecore.so from system lib, and push to the same places on cm7. Worth a shot. Just backup first.

I have ran the beta on both cm 6 and cm 7...Not sure what you are waiting on.
Running the beta as well. I tried the file copying route with no success. Said it couldn't find the english file.

Plus the Beta is more up to date than the copy that is getting shipped with 3.70 roms. It has more features and functionality.

I can't believe I didn't actually try one of the .apks. I thought I heard that swype was only being developed for sense-based roms but thinking about it now I realize how stupid that is. I also thought that swype had some kind of authentication but I don't know where that came from. Wow. I apologise for wasting youse guyses time.

He's built up a fairly solid reputation of taking other devs' work and claiming it as his own over on the eris forums. He had made a number of new accounts to avoid the ban, and I guess eventually he just moved to the Incredible with a new username.
But whenever he was banned from xda he would keep posting updates to his roms over on androidforums.com, maybe you guys can find him there.
Hmmm...yeah I always wondered why the ROM was under Andrizoid's name, but under some random guy's name here.
Also, pretty sure the thread is missing from AndroidForums.com also.

yes, he kinda took myns two point two without asking and used it as his own.
But dont worry guys, myn and I are working on rls 3 for a Friday rls. Its fantastic,
Rosie Mods App built in. (no more flashing to change mapping) just change it and save. Working flipclock with no bugs. ect.. much more!!

Ok Im sure its out there somewhere but Ill be damed if Im reading 728 pages of threads. How in the world are people getting SR 4.0 flashed? I keep getting a error on rom manager and I cant find the file in the normal thread. Am I missing something. HELP ME SOMEONE! I see a QR code but it says 3.5

Hi all,
I'm a newb to all this...been with my droid inc for a bit now and only just decided to root it and try out some new ROMS. Chose Skyraider 4.0 as my first and am VERY happy with it, no issues except 1.
I can't post in the development thread as I'm a newb still and I have done a search and I can't seem to find the answer to this one issue:
I can't figure out how to save scenes in skyraider??? guessing it just doesn't work? did I get a bad flash? pending improvement?

any of you think you can help me out? i cant post in the developers thread either haha and i need a fix now. i stupidly tried ussing metamorph to change the icon on the new rosie dock thing. and now the htc launcher keeps FC on me and i really dont want to nandroid and have to re do everything. so is there any way i can get the rosie dock thing back to the original skyraider one it came with?

it probably is. here's an untested flashable zip i just whipped up of the stock gb keyboard. it'll install it to the system. install with amon-ra recovery.
btw you should probably flash a custom rom. they have so many advantages over stock.
this won't work with clockworkmod 3.0+. again, i didn't test this, but it should work. i just popped the apk right out of the newest cm7 nightly.
long press on a text box and choose imput method, then android keyboard to use.

Here's a couple of links that have some GB keyboards. GOod to bookmark. And they should work with most roms. I've never had trouble using a Gingerbread keyboard on any sense rom.

haha. I have so many damn threads bookmarked. It still takes me eons and eons to shuffle through all of my bookmarks. My eyes begin to cross and fall out of my dome piece by the time I find what I'm looking for.

Don't feel bad, you're not the only one.
Sorry I didn't reply earlier guys.. Laptop died last night and I didn't feel like plugging it back in haha. But I did try and flash the keyboard with Amon RA and it doesn't show up as an option when long-pressing a text input field. I get Swype and Touch Input. Touch Input is just the regular Sense keyboard and Swype is well....Swype.

that sucks. yeah i didn't actually make any modifications, just put it in a zip. but maybe if you sign it it'll install normally. worth a shot. i'm at my grandparent's house all week so i can't do it for you, srry.

I'm guessing you were looking for TrollogenMODS 0.9.2? Or 0.9.3 (whichever got released XD)
I've had no problems like this at all with it. Try rebooting. Or perhaps clear the cache. Wipe data if none of that works.
Does this have a status bar? I know why it didn't. I was in a rush and edited the .zip instead of changed the files and rezipped.

I installed Team Blaze's (Jared) newest ICS last night and was running Drew's prior to. I would say at this point they are almost the same... each one is making improvements... As for my experience... Jared's is solid and I haven't ran into anything broken. There are some things a little buggy (like TTS errors when opening Navigation, but TTS working just fine) but I haven't found anything broken. They are all working on making the camera better and it works on Jareds. These aren't final releases so I am good with what I have! Can't wait until these things get smoothed out as ICS is tight.

I have been following these ROMS.
At least on the home screen they appear to be still pretty buggy.
I don't know if the MMS is working, the camera, all that stuff.
Just curious if someone can tell me what I need to expect after installing.
I am currently using Synergy non-god mode and hate it. It is SO LAGGY. It takes a good 15 seconds to get the icons to populate my home screen. I need a new rom and was wondering if these were worth switching too.

Jared's ICS rom has camera [no video or panoramic], mms works, ect. Go for it.

Switch to MIUI. It is the fastest, most customizeable rom out there.
You may not like the no app drawer thing. But i just made a folder and put all the apps not on my screen in there. Now thats my app drawer!

He was asking about ICS not MIUI if I'm reading the first post correctly. MIUI fanboys are as bad as apple fanboys...
I'm running Deck's alpha 5 and it's really solid. Trebuchet is buggy but that's a known issue and the solution is to run Nova instead. It's definitely worth flashing an ICS ROM to get a feel for how they are.

I have run both Jared's and Drew's. Both solid build... both buggy as hell. They are still working on them. To be honest... the best one right now will probably be the one with the latest release.
Decks Alpha 5 for me with CoD tweaks. I haven't tried any of the other ones but this one is rock solid for me. There are quirks but any rom has those. Honestly I have better battery life on this then I ever have had before.

Uh yeah i know wut he was asking..i can read too. But ics isnt that great. Its gb with a theme and add that quick app thingy.
MIUI is actually different in looks as well as useability. And Im not a fanboy. It just is the best all around rom. Alot of people dont like the iphone like no app drawer as do i. But once u have one in miui it is by far the best rom available. For sure it is the least laggiest evo rom. And by the way these are facts. And if u disagree u must be a ics fanboy or just a straight up MIUI hater. Bu bye!

Gentlemen, best is predetermined to be biased upon your own preferences; there is no right answer here. Yes, ICS does have some nice features, like improved voice commands, better folder management, ect. And for MIUI yes it is a lil 'iphone' like in essence, but different from all the rest. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but if you change the launcher, you fix the 'no app drawer' issue, which some people tend not to like.

Yea ur right. There is no right answer. I was just telling the guy on synergy that was laggy. That miui has no lag. And that other guy starts saying im a fanboy, thinking im referring to the OP. When i clearly quoted who i was replying to, and it got me in a **** talking mood. Sorry..my bad
And yea u can install a different launcher, but it takes away the uniform of MIUI, so i just made me a folder on the dock and put all the apps not on my screen in it
