Has anyone recently purchased the Evo? If so, where? Ive called Best Buy and Radio-shack for the past 4 days and they keep telling me its out of stock.
Sprint store...u will b put on a wait list...if u woulda done that 4 days ago u would of had a phone by now lol

So last week I upgraded to the Photon (Gold customer) from my Epic. At the time I kept my Epic (just transferred my SD card over). Since they got the update from Moto, the phone has been whacked, no Gmail, Market FC's, etc. So I am thinking I'm gonna return my phone and go back to the Epic. Couple of questions (and sorry if I'm spamming): 1. I can return it, correct (I've had it for 6 days today), and get back my upgrade option, yes? 2. Has anyone had problems returning a phone (within the 30-day window)? thanks guys!

I did this earlier in the year. I had bought the EVO, didnt like it, and returned it, then got the EPIC. I had no issues at all. I would recommend just making sure you go to a full service center. I have always had less issues...
i did the SAME thing at best buy.. when i first got into the droid market, i didn't want to pay much.. so i got the intercept.. WHAT... A.. PIECE.. OF.. ****!!!!!!!!!
i returned it within a week and it was SUPER easy to do, got my upgrade credit back and used it on my EPIC the same day!
Cool, thanks guys, am returning tomorrow.... I knew I should have just waited for the gsII. Thankfully, only a couple of weeks more to wait.

So I have been a little worried that I wouldn't be able to get a touch from a local Sprint store. I didn't reserve one and didn't pre order one. I can't get to a store early so I showed up about 5 minutes ago. I was very pleased to see I was the only one here! Now lets hope they actually have the phone

I sent my fiance to get one for me while I was at work and she said that no one was at our store, and then they refused to sell her one because I wasn't there

That's just stupid ... i buy stuff all the time and put it on the account ... my parents are never in the store ... and i just give them my dad's name ...
Waiting here in Mass too and also by myself! I got here at 9 they open at 10. For the Evo I got here at 5:30am and I was 2nd! By 7am there were about 25 people! I think cuz the Evo was the very first "game changer".
WOW. I guess im going to go to sleep and try in the afternoon. I am not going to sit there and wait till 9am. Hope my local store doesnt sell out when I finally wake up. I knew I should of gone to bed at midnight so I could wake up at 8am and get there in time.
On my way to the store soon....the store manager called yesterday to confirm our appointment.
This is so messed up. I called and came to my sprint store yesterday and was told that they not no doing preorders. I get here this morning, its like 10 cars in the parking lot and some people in the store.
The doors were still locked...so im hoping its just employees in there setting everything up...like the display etc. If not im gonna be pisses...especially if they dont have anymore ET4G's in stock.

Guess where I am sending this from? You got it. Five people showed up and I was the only one getting the touch. I was pretty shocked. It is going to take some getting used to but I love it so far.

It's because they advertised the evo...there has been no promotions for this phone except blogs and forums...most people don't read this stuff

Im starting to think that the people inside the store is probably the sprint employees thats getting trained on the phone only because no one has walked out with a phone yet and the doors are locked. They probably getting trained on the iphone...who knows.
If thats the case, then im the only one here as well.

really glad that i have this phone but i had the original epic and we all know how terrible updates were on that piece of crap. I swore i would never buy samsung again but saw this and was a sucker. XD
Anyway, i was just wondering when people think the first update will happen as i don't want to go through another original epic 4g fiasco! Really looking forward to Ice Cream Sandwich and hope it comes to our phones before the end of the year, or at least a ROM of ICS comes by the end of the year.
Some say the 19th, but nothing official yet.

HaHa! HTC is sooooo small in comparison.
Is there a need for an update? Are you having issues? I haven't even rooted yet and things are great since launch day.
And for ICS, I would not say yet, but one issue is we have physical buttons and ICS was partly to get rid of them. Maybe TW will be on ICS eliminating the on screen buttons and then we can get it. I don't yet see a need for it. I was so ready for Gingerbread on the Evo and it was such a let down. I think ICS will be less than we want or need.

G purchased Moto.
When it comes to update only way Samsung will get on it is if owners step up make some noise.
Sprint Community forum has threads on issue that need more users post.
Email Samsung , call tech support and post on their facebook page
No one's buying Samsung. It was just a stupid joke. ;p
