So we all know that Samsung is not gunna release the Android L update for note 4 anytime soon, and I'm getting sick of touchwiz already. I mean, no release date and no news for this update, its disappointing. And honestly, I like stock android so much better
So
Is there any kind of rom, or anything I and many other could do to really get stock android on the Sprint Note 4? I'm dying for stock android on my note 4.
Samsung released L to the carriers a while ago. Its the carriers that are holding everything up.
If you are on sprint then just root and do whatever you want to it. Sprint is not locked down like Verizon and ATT.
You may want to check out the Sprint Note 4 forums.
But is there a way where I can get Stock Android on the note 4?

Yes, if you have an unlocked boot-loader with sprint or T-mobile for example, you can install CM12 which is lollipop.

I've seen this, but how does it work? For example, I don't exactly know how it works when it means to install "GApps". Is there a tutorial on Cyanogen 12 that shows how to do all this? And also, how does the nightly system work? Isn't it a lot of work to reflash Cyan 12 every night?
I'm new to the whole Cyanogen mod, so any help will be much appreciated
Hey folks,
Somehow my 2013 Nexus 7 w/ LTE got skipped on updates. It is still running 4.4.4. This is even after a device reset recently, which I thought may "kick" the update to occur. It is not rooted or running any custom ROMs. So I will just need to do this on my own. I bought the device directly from Google and had it on the Verizon network for the last year or two, if that means anything.
So now I am looking to manually update it to 5.1 and beyond.
1) Will I be able to go directly from 4.4.4 to the most recently 5.1 release (I saw something with a Stagefright fix was recently release by Google), or will I need to go from 4.4.4 to 5.0 to 5.1?
2) Should the directions to install the releases be similar to those I frequently see that explain how to install a new update before Google OTA's it?
Thanks for the assistance!
I just bought an AT&T N910A Note 4 for my wife, I didn't know the AT&T N910A had a locked bootloader. It's currently running DOI9 5.1.1 - and I see no root is possible...?
Is there any reason NOT to upgrade it to the latest MM 6.0.1 firmware?
edit: phone is sim unlocked, being used on T-mobile USA.

I purchased my Galaxy Note 4 off Ebay as there's a seller that refurbs them and it comes with Android 5. But I upgraded it to 6 using Odin and had no problems. Then I did the subsequent updates after because my friend's phone is also a note 4 and that came with Android 6 on it. I purchased both phones from the same seller. No problems at all. Even purchased those wireless chargers.....they're quick to charge them things.

You can crossflash to an android 10 kdz but data may or may not work correctly. There's a crossflashing thread for lg g7.
Hello everyone
I have a Galaxy Notee 10plus sm - 975U a spectrum remembere when I bough it the firmware was sm-975U1 afterot OTA softwar update it change to N975U .
Idon't know much about bootloader and unlocking it but I think that it is unlocked cuz iam living in yemen and the sim card that iam using is cdma and the phone work fine with it
iam wondering if it possible to flash a U1 firmware ( the universal one) and how to check if the bootloader is unlocked or not
Personally if it's on Android 10 and running well I leave it alone and disable OTA updates. Android 11 will screw it up.
The bootloader is locked.
I just bought one new and it's running on Q and there it will stay. It runs maybe a little snappier than my other one loaded with Pie.
thanks you for ur time and repling
