Samsunf Vibrant on G2 - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can Samsung Vibrant apps and widgets run on G2? My brother has some sick stock apps.

I think this might be a better question for the Vibrant Q&A. Theoretically if someone has dug through the touchwiz ROM and pulled out the widgets, they could be installed on the G2 or any other phone with 2.1/2.2 probably.

Launcherpro (just download in market for free) is awsome...and not much different from what I remember from my Hero in 2009.
not without a rom. I don't know of any available. What did you like about sense that you're looking for?
There is also helix launcher

hopefully the defy will get the attention of some serious Dev's and Chef's. I'm currently on a G2 but have been keeping my eye on this Defy as a work phone. The price has dropped and we have root and recovery so I may pick one up. Would be nice to have a OEM Htc port of sense

[Q] Rom with rosie framework?

Hi I hope no 1 will be disappointed by my question.
I know that the sense widgets require the rosie framework.
I need to understand this: is it possibile to cook a new rom on the galaxy nexus putting the HTC framework and widgets?
Is it a long and hard work?
Thank you all for your time
Massive, huge no!!
This will be impossible until HTC Sense with Ice Cream Sandwich is launched. So your probably looking at 6+ months since HTC is very slow now.
and even then, considering this is a samsung device, it's incredibly unlikely that sense will be ported.
basically, if you want really want sense, either find replacment widgets in the market, of which there are many, or return your nexus and get a sense phone.
ICS for the Sensation is apparently out officially in 2 weeks

... not sure why anyone would want this but Android is all about options.
I used to think HTC Sense looked cool back in the G1 days but now their launcher bar looks weird with the app drawer icon
I know, I have the RUU and ran my own build on my Sensation before it hard bricked itself (need to send it to HTC at some point!!)

dual booting customs roms with Galaxy S3 i747

hey i have been having some wifi problems with CM 10.1.2 Aka Android 4.2.2 Jelly BEAN. anywz i have decided to go back to STOCK CUSTOM TOUCHWIZ 4.1.2 and it has been smooth, stable no problems but i like CM on 4.2.2, since Samsung is realising 4.3 for Galaxy S3 next month and 4.4 is already here but 4.2.2 is the most stable and since Sammy will not give out 4.2.2 for Galaxy S3 i had to try with CYANOGENMOD, AOKP, PARANOID, CARBON ROMS to get the feel of 4.2.2 on my S3 which i will never for touchwiz (FU SAMMY, SO MAD THAT I WANNA GO AND PUNTCH SOME SAMSUNG OFFICIALS)
the point is, idont wanna lose TOUCHWIZ and latest stable 4.2.2 with CM so how i can dual boot this two roms, i have read and searched and the only thing that came up was for the old HTC phones like Desires HD, S, Z, EVOS, INCREDIBLES, INSPIRE, MYtouch, Nexus One, Sensation, Thunderbolt and HTC'S stuck on 2.3, or ice cream sandwich, the International Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 right here on XDA, the international Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100, I9100G, the SGS 2 EPIC 4G sprint variant if am correct and some Moto droids plus
wats the big difference or hype that the international can dual boot or can do better than the American Variants???????????????????
anyone finds how to dual boot on the Galaxy S3 I747 PLEASE REPLY ASAP, am sure there's some file, answer or something hidden on this XDA forums that can help me, its just too hard to dig up hundreds of pages just to find a software or programme or app that can do this
any suggestion, idea, solution or ANYTHING is allowed i just need to dual boot, i cant KEEP BACKING UP, RESTORING ROMS WHILE IT TAKES TOO MUCH TIME AND SPACE, MONEY, ITS TOO STRESSFUL, Sometimes it might or might not work cuz of a MD5 file mismatch which makes me wanna hate android more
so help anyway if you can, reply, we can solve it who knows
THIS IS SAMSUNG FAULT THAT AM STUCK ON 4.1.2 ON TOUCHWIZ cuz i cant upgrade and have to USE CM 10.1.2 TO USE 4.2.2 and guess what 4.3 is out and 4.4 will be out sooner than later so arghhhhhhhhhhh it makes wanna get an IPHONE 5 and use their IOS 7 which almost looks identical to gingerbread-ICS-windows PHONE FEEL and its apple its smooth like a baby butt and simple enough 50-60 year old gramma to use it
get yur $h!t TOGETHER Samsung the S3 is just a year old, update it or am done, NEXUS 5, S5, NOTE 3, ONE or even the LUMIA 1020 with the odd couple at the back 42 megs
sorry for the rant but i need to dual boot customs roms

[Q] Stock Android + S-pen ROM for Gnote 3?

I may be way out of line here and if so I apologize - however coming from the Galaxy Nexus to the Galaxy Note 3 I'm mostly pretty happy except with certain aspects of Samsungs software stupidity that I can't seem to get rid of. I've been using the GEL and its amazing but I want to get back to "stock android" as much as possible. This means getting rid of the assnine Gingerbread-era settings menus, dialers, people app and other apps that look like they were plucked from my Droid X from 3 years ago.
Am I being unreasonable when I look at the available ROM's on the T-mo section and see that there aren't any kitkat ROMs available yet? Is there a development hurdle for the Galaxy devices that makes it impossible to make a AOSP-based ROM? (As if it needs to be said, I'm not a developer).
I love the hardware and the S-pen functionality (why I bought it), but I need to rid myself of the 90's era UI that samsung has foisted on us. Am I missing a ROM out there that can fulfill my needs?
I don't think there is anything aosp that can offer what tw had to offer when it comes to s pen functionality.
I had the note 2 before this and was running paranoid ROM which didn't have the cool s pen features.
What I've used the most is the pen window feature. Taking a quick note or using the calc has been handy.

We all feel your pain brother.
I have owned 3 Samsung Galaxy devices before this one and all have had AOSP/AOKP/CM10.2
For some reason or another, a developer not made a bare bone AOSP rom.
Which we all want.
Believe me when I say, we all know touchwiz is getting annoying.
My current setup is Stock Deodexed Debloated with the AOSP theme found in the "Themes and Apps" section, also with the Kit Kat Launcher.
I downloaded all of the Nexus 5 apps (Calendar, Camera, Gallery, Clock, etc. And deleted the Touchwiz ones.
This is as close as we can get for now .

[Q] 'clean' ROMS for G2?

so i've had my galaxy nexus for almost 2.5 years now and getting fed up with its slowness.
im trying to decide between all the 2014 phones which are now dropping in price, nexus 5, G2, etc..etc.. (haven't even looked at other brands yet).
i was initially just looking to get the nexus 5, but G2 has better battery it seems, and i prefer the bigger screen.
Question: can you install a 'pure android' clean 4.4.4 ROM on G2? so that it would be exactly like 4.4.4 on the nexus 5? (or even my galaxy nexus).
Or are the custom ROM's for NON google phones always non-stock in some way, like, a ROM that you can't just download from google and flash - it has to be through a 'third party' like cyanogen -
and if so - is that because of the different hardware which means someone has to create a custom ROM using 4.4.4 as a base?
if so i can't be bothered and i'll just go for the nexus 5.
thanks
I assume you're not after a 4+ year old phone
This is the forum for the HTC G2, may want to check the lg g2 forum and just look through the dev section
