GPS not working on replacement SLCD/Need 2.2stock ruu - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently got a replacement phone after dropping my original amoled Dinc and ever since I've been using the new one I can't get GPS to acquire the satellite. Is this for real?? Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem?
I guess Ill go to Verizon tomorrow and see what's up.
Also I had installed Athena 1.2 and for reasons unknown to me my SD card was corrupted and there is no way to even format it, but basically, I lost my Nandroid backup for the stock ROM. Can someone point me to a good stock 2.2 RUU please?

go to the Inc Android Development forum and in the search box type "ultimate back to stock thread". Go to that thread and everything you need is there.

On the phone with Asurion... Apparently I'm getting a new phone.

Please Help Wifi Not working after 1.21.405.2

Ok the other day i decided to get rid of the orange rom from my HTC Desire so i created a goldcard flashed the testruu.exe file then i rooted my phone. yesterday i decided to unroot it and reflash the htc generic rom. all was working perfect then today i checked for ota update. there was one ready to download so i got it installed and it was working fine. ive just got home from work now and my wifi says unable to start under settings. dont know how its happened
Any ideas how to fix this.
Thanks in advance.
p.s.
please dont tell me ive got to flash my phone again otherwise i will get all my friends iphones to rape the desire right up the usb slot
you could try doing a manual update using the RUU 1.21.405.2 in the dev forum. I used that and I have no wi-fi problems...
Funny, the other reports of broken wi-fi I've read seem to be from people who had previously rooted their phones too...
Is there no other way around this other than flashing the rom?
Doubt it, but it's pretty soon after the official roll-out. Give it time and somebody might figure something out.

Mine has never been rooted and I have the same wi-fi problem after the 1.21.405.2 update.
Not so funny then, I guess.
Try flashing with this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684259
It's the same update... but it works. At least, it worked on mine and many others. It will wipe everything so make sure to back up first.
Same here...Never rooted, but I did de-brand with a generic ROM using a GoldCard. Can't start Wi-Fi.
Does anyone know if T-Mobile customers with the stock T-Mobile ROM have received this update?
Hello. Exactly same problem for me: Orange France ROM flashed to official HTC, and after upgrade unrecognized wifi. It was never rooted.
How to be sure to have an official ROM ?
Thanks.
Ok, so it's not rooting, but we now have three people in this thread who have flashed to the generic rom and then updated, who now have broken wireless.
Teppic24 - how about you? Did you debrand your phone? Just curious. If that's the issue maybe we can warn people who have done the same...
Yes I did de-brand.
So basically, everybody in this thread who has wireless issues, de-branded their phone before applying the update?
There's a pattern here...
It's exactly the same for me. I debranded my French Orange HTC Desire with the official HTC Rom, and now no more Wifi
What's more, I have never rooted my Desire.
arrrrrrggggghhhh Help!
Just flashed it using the same 1.21.405.2 rom from the dev section and now its asking for sim network unlock pin
I put in my goldcard and booted to fastboot then with my phone connected to pc i ran the rom.exe and it installed booted up and now its asking for sim network unlock pin.
Any ideas plz
Thanks
Dion
Yeah, I don't know what exactly the issue is, but the debranding does seem to be the culprit (so far, anyway)
As mentioned previously, you can probably fix it by flashing your Desire with the rom linked in the first post here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=684259
It's an official release. It will wipe everything, so make sure to back up first.

I take it a Goldcard is still required to flash that, even for de-branded phones?

Yep...and now I feel like a **** for leaving it lying around my overly tidy girlfriend who doesn't take care of what she's throwing out when she's gone all Monica for the day.
Well, I just plugged my phone in and opened the RUU on my pc. But my desire is a stock, unaltered model.
I don't know if it will be the same for you guys.
With my unabeled wifi, rebranded HTC rom after Orange, my base band version is:
32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11
In hope it helps...
It seems that there is no trouble with this one : 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2.
If someone want to make a test ... and there an other one : 32.37.00.32U_4.06.00.16_2
Silly question probably, but I don't care:
Is it possible to flash only the baseband ?

Telus Desire ROM Needed ASAP.

Hi. I recently rooted and installed a WWE "sensefroyo" rom off the internet.
And I just figured out (since a couple of hours) that my speaker isn't working AT ALL.
Before, it worked when you left the battery out for a minute and put it back in. it worked flawlessly. But after a while it'd go back to being messed up.
Now its screwed. and wont work at all.
I didnt realise I needed to get it replaced till now.
I really need the Telus Desire rom asap. As I just emailed them about it, and most likely need to get it replaced/fixed. And I dont know much about Telus, if you lose warranty privileges if you root/custom ROM it.
Unless I can tell them that I installed the official 2.2 ROM (dont know if it needs root) off those .exe files (the RUU_Signed) kind. (They didn't work for me. So i rooted using recovery)
Or if you can link me to one where I can find a rom that does not require rooting, and has an .exe file and a copy of a .zip kind.
I wrote a lot here, and its all over the place.
Right now. Either link me to the Telus Desire rom. or one where I can flash without rooting.
I am going to unroot as soon as I get one of those two things^
Thanks. I just hope you guys know what kind of freaky situation I am in.
Where did you buy it, and how long has it been since you bought it?
Depending on those factors, you may not need to worry too much.
I had it activated on a 3 year contract almost a week ago(Not even a week)
What do you mean by I will not have to worry about these things?
Is Telus a carrier that is more on the 'chill' side of things?
EDIT - So I just got off the phone with Telus.
The representative told me if I installed something that Telus did not release. That basically voids my warranty. So now I really need to get back exactly as it was before.
Can someone please help me out here?
I need to go to a dealer soon to get it replaced.
I am pretty sure I can unroot it myself with no issues I guess.
I really need something that matches with the same stats as a Telus Desire.
You should probably try starting over.
If your rom is still rooted, get ROM Manager and install clockworkmod.
You can install something stable like opendesire and wipe data/cache.
You should be fine, unless you really have some unusual desire to be on Telus' rom.
I was wondering if someone can post what their 'software version' looked like on a Telus Desire
Maybe then I can try to get the same radio and 'stats' as a factory device.
I got on a rep and they also said that the worst thing that can happen is your device will be sent back.
They even said that some people wont even notice the software change and stuff.
If at the end I cant get a Telus rom. I would LOVE a link to an Eclair build rom. Possibly one that is an official.
Didn't you nandroid backup prior to moving to froyo?
From what I understand you can restore from that.

I actually have NO idea what nandroid was.
I just followed instructions off a tut on xda.
So I cant seem to find factory eclair roms.
Now I read around a little bit more.
And just feel completely stupid.
Please. Someone. A factory Eclair build.
start by getting clockworkmod installed.
Without knowing what state your device is in, it's tough to help you.
but with clockworkmod recovery going, you will easily be able to switch between roms.
Honestly you couldn't have bought it that long ago, just return it to the store, the guys don't even know how to check.

you needs more? - tell me what exactly you need and how I can get it
download opendesire 3.5.0, wipe data/cache, flash that.
after you set it up, let us know what's not working.
If I were you, I would go back to the store you got it from, with your recipt and contract. You have 14 days to return any phone. That's how I got my desire, I returned a Hero. Make sure you take everythign back you got, charger, phones, etc. Tell them waiting to get a band new phone fixed is a waste of your time, and you want to exchange the phone right away.
So long as you have a sense UI ROM running, I doubt they will know you have rooted the phone. The guys where I bought the phone didn't know too much about it.
If you managed to get a tech support guy to tell you they might not notice, you clearly have the power to get what you need from people. Be forceful if you have to, within 2 weeks they should just give you a brand new phone. After 14days though, your gonna have to live with no speaker, hope it's actually a software issue(doesn't sould like it if even stock it was failing), or send it back and hope they don't miss it. To the best of my knowledge there are no Telus official roms to be found, but there are many official roms from other places. As long as your background doesn't say VodaPhone or something, how will they know?

Telus has 30 day DOA over the counter exchange.
YAh but he made the mistake of telling them e rooted and flashed it (why on earth would any one do that i dont know)
So they have flagged that IMEI in the system as void.
Your best bet is to try doing a wipe and flashing back to the telus 2.1 rom and radio, you will, the recovery is gone though as we dont hava ruu.
Actually. I didnt. I went straight for asking the question off a residential phone that uses Rogers. So they don't know who I was or any account related things.
The first time I called though, I told them that the speaker wasnt working and I wanted it replaced.
So no my IMEI is not flagged, guarantee you that part.
I will try using the OpenDesire 3.5.0 with "clear/wire cache"
This might work for you and i think its your best bet.

Go to the above thread, follow the instructions and make a gold card.
then go to the following thread, download official froyo rom and flash it. It looks almost the same as the original rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=753672
I cant seem to do the goldcard thing.
I am using the official 2.2 at the moment.
It does look the same as 2.1 Telus itself.
What does it mean over here?
# Ensure you have unzipped the SDK, then open a command prompt to the extract location. Change to the 'tools directory.
# Type
Code:
adb shell cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid
and press enter. You should get a very long number which looks like this: 532600bd227d9c0347329407514d5402.

Someone wanna help me? maybe with some screenshots?
I am done making the GoldCard. What does it even do though?
It has something to do with switching to the factory rom..
Now. I have issues with the RUU. It does not wait long enough for the phone to be in bootloader.
EDIT - Is there any way I can "remove" or uninstall the Superuser Permissions app and the "Wi-Fi Hotspot" app? To make it appear even more legitimate.

I packed up the telus stock rom from a nandroid dump you can try it.

Hey I needed to unroot my phone too and I tried a bunch of things then I was following procedures to root my phone again because I tried installing the Rom that was posted by the person that posted before me and I messed up and got lots of errors when I got the phone started and had to force close a bunch of things constantly. Anyways I followed step 3 of the tut for rooting TELUS desires on this forum site and when it restarted I got my stock TELUS Rom back unrooted. This is the step I followed
3. Go to HBOOT, this is done by shutting down your phone and powering on the device while holding the Power button down and pushing Volume down at the same time, once HBOOT is loaded do a wipe (Clear Storage). You can navigate the menus by using the volume rocker and the Power button to select your option.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7818278 is the link to the tut I was following.
I dunno how it worked but it did, I got my stock TELUS Rom by doing this. Maybe I got lucky and maybe you might too. Oh and just for your info, the tut I used to root my desire initially was this one forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750888. Good luck

I know about these exe files. They are the sprint ruu files, and are common knowledge. The problem is, I don't have a pc. It would be great if I got a Mac fix.

Dont know if this is what you wanted but i've unrooted fine using this file just put in sd card and enter bootloader. I got it from the how to unroot thread in the dev forum the name of the guy i got it from escapes my mind at the moment.

[Q] How about some suggestions...

I have a MTS 3g running CM 7.10. I have loved this phone except for the camera. I have the fuzziness that everyone else seems to have. I get to upgrade in April and I have 2 questions:
1. Before I upgrade I want to get a replacement phone for this one because of the camera. They keep telling me there is an app, which I can't find on the Market they need me to download. Will that app let them know I'm rooted and running CM7, if so, I need to flash the original ROM. Any tricks to that thru Rom Manager, do I just put the stock rom in the update folder and let 'er go like when I boot into CM update recovery? I've got the most recent radio. If this is posted somewhere I missed it.
2. When I upgrade in April, I've been considering a MTS 4g or a HTC Slide which TMO told me was replacing MTS with them. Suggestions? I saw one post where someone would never get another slide keyboard phone, that hasn't been a problem for me, but what kind of new phones are others who have had MTS 3g been looking at, upgraded to and love? Thanks for the help and suggestions!

[Q] Phone didn't work one week...now my text isn't working...please help!!

Hello, this is my first post on the forum and I'm pretty much a Nub to rooting.
I have the HTC EVO 4G with...
CyanogenMod-7.1.0-Supersonic
Kernel Tiamat_Evo-v4.1.0
and I've installed the latest Wimax, Radio, and HBoot, found here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715485&highlight=radio+update
I'm not sure what to do to fix my phone or what I can do...
I've looked for fixes, tried rebooting, and I've tried changing the Kernel. The only thing I haven't done is going all the way back to square one. I'm not sure if this is possible or how easy it is to take my phone all the back to the beginning when everything was stock root....especially since I have no backup of that fateful day when I stepped into the root world...
any help will be great appreciated...
thanks..
to truly get back to square one, I believe you'll need to Google for an ruu of what firmware/software your phone was at when you rooted. (Android version, boot version). And run the ruu from a desktop with phone plugged in.
Someone can help you more, but it is possible, and won't be that difficult.
Sorry, I'm at work.
