Hey guys, recently my mobile network keeps dropping connection even though the reception is good. Any ideas why? I'm on stock rom.

I'm thinking if getting a g2 for my sister, but I hesitate because of the data connectivity issues that every review seems to mention.
Has there been an update to resolve those issues?
I'd hate for her to be unable to get 3g indoors. Thanks in advance.

What connectivity issues?
I've never had a single issue with my device...

Thanks for the reply. I read 2 separate reviews that said that the phone had trouble maintaining 3g connection indoors, and mostly stayed connected on edge.
Anyone else have or not have this issue?

Recently I have noticed my one x shutting off the mobile network when calling someone. This doesn't always happen but sometimes it does.I'm on t-Mobile uk. And I'm not sharing signal with orange however I have just turned it on to see if it makes a difference. Ant ideas on what to do?

Exact same problem here, i recall being able to make phone calls and surf the net at some point on the one x. I have no idea why i suddenly have this issue as well.
2G can't do both, 3G can, so it might be related to your signal.

Am I the only one having problems with dropped calls and signal? In my room it never used to drop to no service but after I flashed an international rom it did? Anyone experiencing this or have any advice?

No not that kind of problem. However I have noticed the new lte is always cutting out when it switches from 4g to lte and back. Imo I think this whole new lte thing needs to be ironed out. I get better luck with shutting lte off from the sett8ng menu.

ahh, yes it was very annoying not having working internet especially while my other buddy on TMO would have internet . but after doing the Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Network mode > and switching between the WCDMA and GSM one or the other now will work. thanks.

I have as well, when I previously had full bars on my Nexus 4 it drops to one or no bars, happened on stock and on CM, I've heard the old baseband may fix it, but no one has been able to pull a working version yet. I'm hoping they ever push an updated radio or something soon, I love the phone, but not having service is quite annoying.

i dont think its the roms, i think its between the modem and tmobile switching/migrating/upgrading to LTE and them having some slight issues.
It might be because I've only noticed the bad signal after flashing an international rom

What APN are you using? I'm using the fast t-mobile APN. LTE works perfect?
Edit. I would agree with xeonox
My buddy is on stock rom and we have identical reception. I'm running omega from the I9505 forum
SGH-M919_Omega, the end result

Hello folks,
I seem to be having some strange issues with mobile internet on O2.
I have been with them since October 2012 when I got the GN2 and everything has been fine up until 1 maybe 2 months ago when I noticed by phone was connecting to H+, which I had never seen with O2 in my city before. Normally it would always be on H, or occasionally 3G... both of which would work no problems. Now, I know what the different connection types are, but the problem is that now whenever it’s on H+ mobile connection around 80% of the time it’s either super slow, or simply doesn’t let me load any web pages or refresh any apps that require data connection. I often have to search for the network again just to get it to work. When it is still on H or 3G everything is fine... it’s just H+ that seems to be causing problems.
Also, around two or three days ago I also started having problems sending and receiving texts.
I’m on Wanam v2.9 with old DLK7 modem, however I was using this long before the problem first started so I don’t think it’s the cause. APN settings are same as always and I took the SIM card out, cleaned it and made sure it was in properly but all to no avail.
I will try calling O2 later, but their customer service is notoriously crap so I thought I’d ask here first.
Cheers,
Lee
Try using dmc3 modem see what happens. Sounds like a network problem more than anything

Thanks bud :good:
I'll try a few modems and if it still doesn't improve I guess I'll have to call O2 :crying:
Flashed UBDMB1 modem and it seems to be working consistently again. I just hope it's not a battery killer! :silly:
Previous modem must not have liked HSPA+
Glad its ok.

Haha, this thread is a blast from the past!
I gave the Note 2 to my girlfriend in March and have a Nexus 5 now. Note 2 is still running great though
Hi all,
I am currently running a non H3G ROM on my Note 2 LTE.
As Three UK are pushing out 4G to London users, I wondered if I would need to be on an official Three UK ROM for it to happen?
As I understand it, a message is sent to the phone and a reboot is then required for 4G to be activated.
Does anyone know?
I would call Three, but they are shocking with the easiest of questions - so I think this would blow their mind.
Many thanks!
Hi
I not in london but in cardiff and h3g were testing 4g and no message or reboot was needed.
I am on stock rom 4.1.2

Thanks for the info, but I want to know about non standard ROMs.
Out of curiosity, what speeds did you achieve on 4G?
Signal still a bit weak but looks promising

Hi Kieron,
Im running 4.1.2 baseband version N7105NEDMA1 Build number JZ054K.N7105XXDMB2 and have a N7105 LTE on Three UK, and am awaiting 4G to become active
I would just like to confirm this is what you are using as you have confirmed 4G Is working for you - or if anyone else has THREE 4G working on their N7105 what their baseband and build number is so that i can confirm im running the correct one to receive the update? Many thanks
It doesn't matter what ROM you are using I've found out.
There is no software update or any other change to the phone, an update is done on the network side only.
Mine switched on without notification or reboot.
Very strong in Central London and 40MB down and 20MB up.
You just need to wait your turn sadly.
