i have a g2 and i was using clockwork and i bricked my phony is ther a way to fix it??
Few more details and we maybe able to help.
Can you still boot into recovery?
If you can you should just be able to restore your most recent nandroid
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
yes i can still boot into recovery
Then you can either restore a nandroid or do data/cache wipe and reflash rom
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
how do i reflash the rom??
What were you originally trying to do in clockwork?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
i was trying to load the gingerbread
What version of clockwork mod are you using?
What rom are you coming from?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
clockworkmod recovery v3.0.0.5 and the rom is whatever the original one is
Make sure before you flash gingerbread you wipe data and cache and go to the advanced menu and wipe dalvik cache. Then flash the rom

what is i just wanted to reset it back to factory
its not working what if i wanted to just reset it back to ractory specs
Have a look in stickies in the dev forum for guides on how to return your phone to stock.

G2 Semi Brick?
I have a G2 actually I have two of them. Both Running Virtuous Unity 2.35 no issues, one of the G2's has always been wonky so I am sure its nothing to do with the Rom I am running as I have tried them all.
My problem of the moment is its gone so Wonky that I would like to get the phone back to factory.
Unfortunately I can't get into clockwork recovery any longer sort of comes up with the recovery splash screen and version number 3.0.2.4 and graphic and nothing else.
I tried re flashing recovery with fastboot and I get a message
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Sending 'recovery' (4466 KB) OKAY
Writing 'recovery' .....FAILED (remote: image update error)
trying to flash a PC10IMG.ZIP does not work.
Any suggestions? I was thinking there was still some hope since the bootloader and Fastboot are still responding.
Here at the details.

Hi
Another stupid noob has bricked his phone.
My situation. Whilst trying to unroot and restore to original state for warranty purposes (earpiece speaker has died)
I have a Desire Z that will boot either into hboot and clockwork recovery but wont boot past HTC screen when I install or restore a backup.
I presume this is because the wrong hboot, radio etc is now installed with S-ON.
I have been trying to do this but get stuck because I have no access to terminal
This
Anyone with some ideas?
Cheers in advance
UPDATE:
Now boots directly into Clockwork recovery but wont boot passed.
Can you tell us what your hboot says.

Did you use gfree method?
Sent from my HTC Desire Z/G2 Using XDA Premium App
Yes I used Gfree originally.
I am trying to flash a PC10IMG.zip via the bootloader but it no loner seems to want to see the file on my sdcard. It did before, which is how I got into this mess in the first place.
I am trying to flash the correct one back over which has a more recent Hboot, radio etc I think.

I wonder why... So it still not reading it? Also does ADB read your phone? I don't know if ADB would work though because you don't have the ent-hboot. It seems like even so you have S-on your still rooted since you can still go to clockwork?
Sent from my HTC Desire Z/G2 Using XDA Premium App
yeah thats whats getting me. I can use adb when booted into the recovery but I am struggling to get anything to work.
Any thoughts on how to proceed, if any?
well my only idea is to try to see if you can flash through ADB

Try looking for a DZ RUU that is specific to your carrier. If you can't find one, you could make a goldcard and install a WWE RUU (see if you're still super CID first).
Format your sdcard and try to unroot your phone again. )

thanks for the replies, got it back up running sort of, got a t-mobile rom installed but still need to flash the correct hboot, recovery and rom for that matter
After i wanted to increase wildfires internal memory by this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233340 everything was fine but then my phone couldnt connect to mobile network operator and i tried to flash new rom but now im stuck in recovery (i tried to flash miui bet 4) when i want to reboot system it goes to white screen and then comes back to recovery.
Can anybody tell me what can i do now?
Im sorry for mu english ..
Go back to stock recovery:
Code:
Reverting back to Stock
- Formatting all the 3 partitions. (i.e. /cache, /data, and /system)
- You will then need to flash a "Stock" Clockworkmod Recovery Image. Links (and procedure to flash) available in the Index Thread
Nothing happened
Did you flash a new ROM after following the steps mentioned above?
Just change mtdpartmap.txt to 250 40 then redo the whole process.
Wipe.
Flash bravo recovery.
Reboot recovery.
Install rom.
flash bravo boot.
Reboot.
After flashing a new rom you must flash bravo boot when already using a custom mtd and if the roms system folder is bigger than your mtd it'll get stuck at the splash screen.

Maybe somebody can say how i can get stock recovery or smt in very easy way if it is possible
If you want to go back to stock just download and flash recovery... I personally prefer fastboot method for flashing recovery or radio..

Yes thanks but i have no idea how to do that .. im reading but i cant do that
Get fastboot and adb tools from the given link in the post..
Now download the recovery for our wildfire which is also linked...
Extract the tools as well as recovery.img in the same folder..
Now open the folder in cmd and write " fastboot flash recovery recovery.img " and press enter...
P.s. i am issuming that you have the drivers installed.. or else you will have to inatall them too... In order to check if your mobile is connected correctly when you open the tools folder in cmd type " adb devices " and see if your device is listed.

I am looking for Clockwork Recovery 3.0.2.4 for my G2 so I can install the DZ HBOOT. Does anyone have the download link for it?
I appreciate it
It's in RM, just scroll down to the bottom for the option to install older recoveries.

Here you go: http://ratherphallic.co.cc/OTHER/recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-vision.img
You don't need this specific version of recovery to flash the DZ hboot, it gets flashed from bootloader, not recovery.

or as I found out you can flash via fastboot so long as you have an engienering hboot. this way you don't have to reflash your radio and recovery again. although I did have to reformat my recovery (4ext)

^ This. Also if you just need the desire Z hboot, you can install the new ENG S-OFF hboot without a specific recovery (the one from the Virtuous wiki though does come with clockworkmod, but I prefer 4EXT recovery).
Thanks guys, successfully changed boot loader and I'm running Sense 4.0

I've downloaded several different ROMs today, and moved them to /sdcard. I wipe the phone and the cache, and then go to "install zip from sdcard" on Clockworkmod recovery. I've done this several times, and Virtuous Quattro is still here. I'm fairly certain I rooted my phone and everything when I initially installed VQ, so I'm not sure what the problem is.
(Please keep in mind I'm still relatively new to all this phone business.)

to reach your bootloader screen, turn off your phone and then power on holding volume down (no computer needed) then see if it is eng hboot or ship hboot along with your soff, depending on what it is will decide your next step

well if you don't get any error and, as it sounds, you are doing everything right. I would assume there is an issue with your recovery, I suggest flashing a new one, also I would suggest using 4ext recovery over clockworks as it is superior in many ways.
go to the 4ext website and grap the .img
boot into fastboot
fastboot -w
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot bootloader
now reboot to recovery and perform a full wipe, make sure all is partitioned to ext4 (except fat32 partition of sd)
flash rom of choice
any questions feel free to ask

I should have mentioned I switched to 4ext. Also, I've done a full wipe and flashed the ROM, but still no.
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using xda app-developers app
so even after a full wipe and flash of the rom, you boot back to os and its the same as before, as if you didn't do anything?
and you get no error codes? and you switched to 4ext recovery and it sucessfully changed to it but you get the same problems as you did with clockwork?
is all this correct?

Reformat your phone through 4EXT. It's under the same menu as wipe.

Sent from my HTC Desire Z using xda app-developers app
reformat everything except the fat32 partition of sd card, then for safe messure wipe everything and reboot, if you don't get stuck @ the white htc screen then something is wrong (this should wipe your os completley so you won't be able to boot) if it goes into os after a full wipe/reformat then I suggest logging into irc freenode #g2root and get some realtime help
if you do get stuck @ htc screen the pull battery boot to recovery and flash rom of choice

I do indeed get stuck at the HTC screen, but none of the ROMs but VQ is working. Could it be that I downloaded them on my phone and transferred them to /sdcard?

check the md5sums of the roms you are trying to flash, make sure you follow all instructions in the op of those roms, (md5 should be listed where you downloaded and inside 4ext there is an option in the menu to check the sum)

Unlocked with HTC dev

Flashed su then gapps 4.1 then Pacman ROM
Error can't format SD ext (don't think this is a problem but hey just in case)
When the phone reboots it stays at the boot animation for the ROM. I've tried a couple other ROMs to no avail. I also left it with the boot animation over night just to make sure it wasn't just taking a long time. I have also been searching the internet for a RUU to at least get the phone working again. I've also been reading the xda forums and I think it might have something to do with my radios (like version 1.0.0...) I'm not totally inexperienced in android rooting (I'm currently using my HTC Evo V 3d s-off rooted with Gangamstlye ROM) but any help would be much appreciated!
I am able to access twrp recovery and can use adb with fastboot still - only my one v won't get past the boot animation

If it's a new phone you will most likely need to run the RUU but you should go in this order when flashing a ROM.
Extract the kernel from the rom
Boot into recovery
FULL WIPE
Flash ROM
Boot into bootloader
Flash boot.img through fastboot ( fastboot flash boot boot.img )
Install 4.1.2 Gapps
I have tried reflashing in that order and it still didn't work :/ Do you know where I could get a RUU?
