Does anyone else think the 3g/H performance is a bit lame on their DHD??
I'm currently using Android Revolution HD 2.0.10 and have tried virtually all the radios out there. Even with the stock ROM i noticed it was a bit slow.
At first i thought it was the stock browser but Ive tried a few 3rd party browsers and the results aint much better.
Ive disabled flash (browser settings - enabled plugins) and enabled mobile view but it still takes 5-10 seconds to load a page. The market homepage also takes ages to load.
(clearing the cache makes a bit of a difference but surely i shouldn't have to do that every time??)
Ive confirmed my APN settings, im on Orange in the UK by the way
My old hero was faster!!!
Its not like im trying to watch you tube videos or anything Im only using mobile data to check the football scores and sometimes BBC news.
You can check out your ping at pingtest.net.
If its a lot above 150ms it might be noticable in browsing...
As a new user coming from the hero I also find the DHD is lacking in pace. It is not very inclined to give me H band and always prefer gsm.. which is next to no movement most times whenever I try anything online.
I've also flashed the new radio prior installing the revolution HD Rom.
I'm on T-mobile if that helps..
Thanks!

Hello, I'm running miui, and ever since I flashed it both my WiFi and mobile network speeds are horrible. It only loads a few few kb/s, while stock ROM and my computer have excellent speeds, same result when I was at a friends house.
However network speeds are great at my schools public network; they've blocked loads of ports and protocols which means stuff like the Android Market won't work. This gives me the feeling that my traffic is being tunneled, but that the port is blocked at school so it reverts to non-tunneled traffic.
However I'm not sure of this because for example my external ip is the same as my computers, and sites like what's my ip doesn't detect any proxy.
Both VPN and proxy aredisabled in the menus.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: I've now noticed that the same problem occurs when running OpenDesire.. Maybe it's related to AOSP ROMs?
EDIT2: Just remembered, CyanogenMod used to work fine.. I'll try flashing it once again.

Hello, I tried RoDrIgUeZsTyLe MiUI ROM too, same internet issues..

Try a non-MIUI ROM, or try stock
As I said in my first post, stock ROM doesn't have the problem. Cyanogenmod works fine too

Could my current radio affect this? Unfortunately I can't remember what I'm currently using..

I tried the latest radio, 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27, but no difference.. Watching YouTube videos does not work because it's soo slow, downloading Angry Birds would take 25 minutes, downloading a 100kb pdf file with bus timetables took a minute and so on.. ._.
bump.
Any info you want?
Are you still getting 3g or is it only 1x data?
It does show the 3G icon, so yes, 3G,
Same problems when running OpenDesire! Maybe it's an AOSP ROM problem occurring just for me?
EDIT: Just remembered that CyanogenMod used to run fine, I'll try flashing it and see if the same problems occur again.
Check your build.prop data/net settings and compare with one from a ROM that works well for you. Try and make the WiFi scan interval option 60s or above (not below).

I set it to 60, pushed in recovery, no change. Didn't notice any differences among wifi and data.
Problem solved! I solved it by updating my routers firmware(Apple airport extreme)

Hi all. I am on leedroid 3.3.3 and as long as i can remember using leedroid i have a problem using the edge data connection. When using edge almost every time when loading aa page the browser stops loading after some seconds. Even the icon in the notification bar show that it do has stopped. I have to reload and reload and reload and with a bit of luck it loads the page and i can see content. Sometimes even THAN it stops loading
Same thing when reaching my dataplan limit. I have umts connection but am limited to edge speeds. Than the same happens
I thought perhaps it is my provider, but i can't find anything about it anywhere AND with my G1 ,like 8 month ago , i NEVER had problems like this! I even locked my data to edge to safe battery and it worked like a charm!
Any help? Plz!!

Wrong forum section dude.
I guess contact your provider and check the apn settings for a start.
Hi guys! I am getting over 7 Meg download speed, however, it is painfully slow. As in watching movies etc, it just used to be slot faster. Any ideas of something I can do?

Hi, this isn't really enough information to go on.
Are you rooted? If so, which rom are you running? Since when are you running it? When did the performance decline become apparent? Do you notice poor performance only when trying to stream videos?
As for Ideas to solve this: Switch to a different rom such as virtuous g-lite/sense 2.0 to find out if your problem persists. Maybe there are certain processes running in the background, that impact your systems performance. Another issue might be, that you don't really get the full 7 mbit from whichever streaming service you are trying to access.
Anyone else have the YouTube app just freeze up during playback?
I think it might be a problem with the way the app is caching the video. It will load up to a certain point and then stop. When playback reaches that point, it won't load anymore. If i try and back out, the app freezes and eventually force closes.
One thing I've noticed though is that this only seems to happen with all the 4.0.3 roms I've tried. When using Android rev. HD there are no problems.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

That's strange... Well I don't have that problem but I know what will make you feel better...

That did put a smile on my face.
But seriously though, I notice your with Verizon which is cdma, I'm on a gsm phone. I wonder if it could just be a gsm vs. cdma rom issue.
Poor connection. Remember HD videos pulls more data. I get the loading symbol but only when connected to a slow wifi.

I get really slow loading on any connection. Either 3G, which is typically about 1.8 Mbps, or over my wifi, which is through 12 Mbps cable. Doesn't seem to matter how fast the connection is, at least for me. Not sure if it's my ROM or what.
happens to me on stock 4.0.2. Mostly with embedded videos in browsers. Also when attempting to seek via browser or app.
On wifi, 35mbps fios with full strength reading and about 20mbps thru put.
Drives me nuts, coming from iPhones and never had any problem watching vids. Now 90% crash or fail.

I get the same problem too, even after upgrading to one of the 4.0.4 roms. A temporary solution that I've found is that using the 2.4.4 version of YouTube works without any problems. Only downside is that this version isn't as polished as the updated one.
Here's a link I uploaded to the old youtube app if anyone wants it.

Good afternoon;
This has bothered me for sometime but I normally only use my wifi at someones house or my own in the evening and both times when I noticed I always make note to ask and forget.. So.
I bought the HTC One X about 4 months ago and have had this issue since day one. I recently updated to Jellybean and the issue is still there.
I speedtest on my PC (desktop) 30mb/5mb and using speedtest on my HTC I get 26/5 (all good)
My issue is when I'm using WiFi the loading of pages, pictures.. ANYTHING is very very slow. It'll take me 10 seconds to open say slickdeals.net where as when I'm using my phones Data (AT&T) it takes me about 1-3 seconds. This goes with any site and often it'll time out as well (using wifi)
Disconnecting/reconnecting wifi does help with the connection timeout however the speed issue (of lack of) is still there and taking 10+ for whatever I'm trying to few. There are points where the speed seems normal, pictures load when I click them however I would say 95% of the time sites/pictures each take at least 5-10 seconds to load.
Some info on network and HTC One X
Network:
Sec: WPA/WPA2
Speed: 30mb/5mb
No ports blocked (I even tried DMZ'ing phone)
Phone:
Version 4.1.1
HTC Sense 4+
Anyone have any ideas or need more info? I would love any light into this issue. I have read WiFi issues with this phone but most seem to be with the quality/connection to the adapter and my signal is very good. Thanks all!
Just a throwing one in there, have you tried different browsers?

Thanks for the reply, Sorry for the late response but i wanted to give a few browsers a day to test.
Same issue on FF/Dolphin Browser/ Default
One thing I notice is that under Settings>WiFi>(My Network)>"Link Speed" shows only 2-6 Mbps. Running speed tests get me often .5 - .8 DOWN and 5.1 UP.
WiFi boost is enabled on the phone as well.
