Every thread I have seen about the new market and its problems talks about how they aren't able to detect any devices. I have a different problem. My device shows up just fine, and the entire download process appears to function properly.
This app will be downloaded to your device shortly.

This is the message I get on the market, but it never goes through. I am currently using Calk's Evio rom. I've tried what I could from the troubleshooting tips, and nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be great.
I thought it was assumed it would only work with the update market apk.
Edit: Works for me just fine with the updated market.
Isn't 2.2.11 the updated market? If so, that's what I've got and still no dice.

Thread over at the google forums that answered this for me. The trick was the google framework services.

I have just picked up my new Orange HTC desire (very nice it is too, apart from the Orange stuff that comes with it).
The problem I am having is that I am now unable to download any more applications form the Andriod marketplace. I was able to do this until the other day.
I found this (android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile-pulse-pulse-modaco-com/304562/download-unsuccessful/)forum which basically says that you need the gtalk service running.
I had disabled this the other day whilst messing around and I couldn't work out how to re-enable this. (Possibly due to the ORange branding stuff, not sure).
I found a link to the gtalk.apk in one of these forums, downloaded it and installed that. That got the gtalk service running again. however I am still unable to download apps from the market place, this is very annoying.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
try clearing the cache from the settings menu / applications / manage applications / download manager and then reboot your handset. This worked for me earlier in the week.
Thanks for the tip, I tried it but still no luck, any more ideas anybody?
Cheers
EVO APP store
yeah, after updates, rooting, froyo.. etc..
i couldn't download apps as well.
Logged into GTalk and app downloads started working.

i dont think you need gtalk running to download from the market, im sure i have removed that app b4 and had no problems i can remember, what is the error you are getting? you have give us no info? is the download failing or the instalation? many problems with the market can be solved by going to settings/application/manage applictions, find market under the all tab, click on it then click on clear data, reboot your fone and try again ....
I have searched extensively and have not found a solution to my problem.
Problem: cannot sign in to google account (cannot find a secure connection)
I can flash a 2.1 rom and sign in / download without any problems.
When 2.2 first came out (leak) I could use market but at some point it stopped working.
I have tried every fix on the net. Wiped everything tried every 2.2 rom including early leaks that used to work. wifi does nothing. I can log in to you tube which then lets me use gmail however market will hang instantly and give an error.
I would like to install the 2.1 version of market on a 2.2 rom but I have no idea how to do that. simply replacing vendor.apk does nothing except remove market completely. If this is possible somehow I am willing to try... just need some direction. If it is not possible thats fine too I just would like to know so i can stop trying. lol.
Have you tried dialing "*#*#2432546#*#*"?
checkin failed.
checkin works on 2.1 though obviously.
funny when i went on 2.1 i got the upgrade notification instantly.
this was on a non stock rom, rooted w/s-off and latest radio. of course it wouldn't install but i thought it checked these things before notifying. guess not.
just playing on 2.1 for awhile it is definitely laggy compared to 2.2
coming from winmo 2.1 seemed insanely fast lol. funny how things change.
Have you tried the Beta Unrevoked 3.2 ?
If you go to the website,
h t t p : //unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/unrevoked3
(Not allowed to post link in Forum yet)
They have an WEB IRC Client link that in turn that has the link for the 3.2 Beta.
Of course, they tell you (quite right too!) to use at your own risk.
Market problems too.
I have been having market issues too. I can get in to the market, but when I try to download an app, it starts then quickly says "download unsuccessful." Right now I am running Redemption ROM (pretty nice BTW), s-off and radio 2.15. I can't even download titanium to get my apps restored. I don't think it is ROM based since the market wasn't working with Virtuous either. Any ideas or known fixes?
I tried searching, but didn't find any answers to this. If there is a thread about it, I apologize, and feel free to point me to that thread. Thanks.
I'm on clockworkmod, no issues with market for me.
Tried clearing cache?

Re-root as 2.2 with Clockwork mod 2.5.0.5, I'm @ 2.2, that ROM and no issues for me.
Just a suggestion (Nandroid 1st!).
lol.
i've done all that a million times. tried older recovery builds, amon-ra recovery, even stock recovery on 2.2. already said i tried all 2.2 roms out... this includes asop roms.
i have a feeling this has more to do with how 2.2 is trying to identify which network i am on which for some reason market wants to know.
how 2.1 can do the job just fine is what i need to know.
I try to install an app from my browser, it sees my phone but keeps saying that
"You have not opened Android Market recently on this device. Please open it and try again"
I have opened up the market on my phone etc.
Anyone else have this issue?
I have this issue also, haven't found a solution yet so for now I have given up trying. It tells me to pick another phone and my registered phone is grayed out. Oh well.
same here. nexus one cm 6.1.1 market 2.2.11.
strange thing is that in settings I can read current date as last use!
I tried it while I was on CM6 and it wouldnt work and then after I flashed MikFroyo it worked... Since I did a full wipe and obviously flashed a new ROM there's no telling what actually made it work but it does... someone a lot more knowledgeable than me will have to figure it out...

finally starts to work today
Hi everyone, I have my E4GT running on Calkulin's E4GT v2.9.1 EL29 ROM. I use Sprint TV quite a bit. Today I opened it and when I clicked on content it starts playing and then comes up with a notification that a newer version is available and to either close or download now. When I click download now it just sits there. I read somewhere on the forums here that the sprint installer needs to be installed for updates to work. I went into Calklin's removed apps folder on the sd card and installed the sprint installer apk. I just clicked it and installed normally...not sure if I had to do anything special here with permissions etc. Now when I go back to Sprint TV and click download now it will download, but the update will fail.
Any advice/suggestions on resolving this?
Thanks.
Just like I posted the thread few minutes ago, it works fine on FC22. I've experienced the same thing (like you mentioned) from previous version but it works like a charm on FC22. I can't say which version it's going to work or not. But at least it started working on FC22. Few days ago, it didn't work on FC22 either. It seems like Sprint changed App.

If you are not able to update, try the apk file attached in above thread.
Thanks for posting your new apk. That worked for me. I think in my case since I'm using a custom rom I was not able to download the update. I'm working now and happy.
I recently bought a Zeki TBD753B. It was cheap thats why I bought it. It has Jelly Bean on it.
I have read through every possible post I could. I found out I had to root the tablet and install google play.
I have followed a lot of the posts I have seen. I was able to root it, but for some reason Google Play just will not work properly. I can get it installed but everytime I run the app it crashes on me after 5 to 10 seconds. I get "unfortunately Google Play has stopped working". I have even used Link2SD to change it from a user app to a system app. At this point it won't even load and i get the stopped working message right away. I can only assume that I am missing some kind of file. I tried the newest versions of Play and even an older version down to 3.5.19. I have tried clearing the data and the catche. I am at a loss.
The only reason It is such a big deal to me is that a majority of the apps I want to download seem to be only on Play.
forget this post
I finally got it figured out.
It had something to do with the version of Play I was using when I installed it.

Which version did you get to work and do you have a link to it?
