[Q] HELP?!?!? - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can i please get instructions on how to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=817979&highlight=apps2sd ?

Make sure you have rooted your phone
Make sure you have clockwork's update.zip and that ROM on the root of your sd card.
Boot into recovery (Vol up + power, then use vol down to highlight recovery and power to select)
Press vol down + power once the ! shows up
Use vol down to highlight flash update.zip and press power to select it
Use trackpad to scroll down to nandroid, and make a backup
when back in the main menu, select "factory reset", which will wipe your data
Use trackpad to scroll down to install zip from sd card
Choose zip from SD card
select the ROM that you downloaded that you placed on the root of your sd card.
wait for the ROM to install and then reboot your phone
If you have any problems, go back into clockwork recovery and then restore your nandroid backup from the nandroid menu.

[Q] Just bought a rooted Desire

I know, I know. I took the easy route. It's running cm7 and I love it, but I know at some point I'll want to try another rom. Is that as simple as wiping the phone and flashing another rom with rom manager? Also a question about the recovery image. I have my own sd card in the phone. Would the original recovery image have been on the sd card that is no longer in the card? Do I have to make another one? I'm not sure I quite understand that.
Sorry for the noob questions and thanks for (hopefully) reading this and responding.
If it's correctly rooted recovery is on the device NOT the SD card...
to get into recovery turn off your phone, press and hold the volume down button and then press the power button, that will load the phones HBoot, there will be a list of options (use the vol up and down buttons to choose) one of them will be recovery select it and press the power button..... that will then load the recovery

Help, Bricked LG Optimus V

Guys, please help.
I had the phone rooted and a custom rom installed it was a copy of the stock virgin rom without the annoying programs, everything was working fine, but when I needed to change the number on my phone i tried the ## some number # and it didn't work, so I went to the menu and tried a reset to factory default, whe it booted all I get is a clockworkmod recovery console, i can navigate to the sd card where there is a backup of the original rom and info, it lets me restore but when i boot I still get the clockworkmod recovery console it will only boot into this console, when i try updating or intalling a new room it always fails, can anybody please help me?

Your not fully bricked if you can get to the clockwork mod. What version of clockwork do you have... 3.0.2.4? have you tried plugging phone into computer and see if it connects via sd card adapter not usb (looking for errors dead sd card)

[Q]Slightly Urgent - Samsung Galaxy S won't start after Clockwork mod?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S that has been updated to Gingerbread via Kies.
I decided i would try my hand at installing the Cyanogen mod as listed here: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide
I followed the exact instructions and the Heimdall Suite to install speedmod + clockwork kernel in the link they provided. The phone now just sits on the first boot screen "Galaxy S GT-I9000" and doesn't move. What am i missing here?
How do i place the zip files on the root of the SD card?
Or at the very least how do i just get the phone to work again? Where did i go wrong?
Edit, if i take the battery out and put it back in i can get the phone to start in recovery mode with clockwork, but it still won't boot. it just freezes
If you plug your phone into your PC, is it seen as a storage device? If so, copy the ROM.zip you are trying to flash to your SD and then select Flash zip from SD option in Recovery.
If your PC doesn't see the phone, use an SD card reader or another device to copy the zip to the card. Depending on the ROM you might need to have the gapps zip on there too so that you can flash that at the same time as the ROM.
Edit: From the wiki:
Method via Recovery
1.Download the latest version of CyanogenMod.
Optional: Download the Google Apps for the device.
2.Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card.
Optional: Place the Google Apps .zip on the root of the SD card also.
3.Boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery.
4.Once the device boots into the ClockworkMod Recovery, use the side volume buttons to move around, and either the power button or the trackball to select.
5.Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
6.Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
7.Select Install zip from sdcard.
8.Select Choose zip from sdcard.
9.Select the CyanogenMod update.zip.
Optional: Install the Google Apps by performing steps 7 - 9 again and choosing the Google Apps update.zip.
10.Once the installation has finished, select +++++Go Back+++++ to get back to the main menu, and select the Reboot system now option. The Samsung Galaxy S should now boot into CyanogenMod.
Turns out the wiki link to clockworkmod was out of date. Which was why the phone wasn't booting. reflashed it with the latest kernal for clockworkmod and now everything runs fine!

Is this phone salvageable?

Pressing Vol Up, Home and Power keys give me the following (I have an screenshot but I am blocked from showing the screenshot):
Android system recovery <3e>
K0T49H.N7105XXUFNE7
Volume up/down to move highlight; power button to select.
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache
It reports many missing file systems before that
I tried to flash the stock ROM using Odin. Vol Down, Home and Power keys give the Download screen, but nothing gets downloaded. Tried it from three different PCs.
Is my phone recoverable? What is "apply update from external storage" or "apply update from ADB"? I haven't tried wipe data/factory reset yet because I hope to salvage the WhatsApp backup file if it's still there.
Thanks.
Try flashing custom recovery if possible.
Of you succeed then using aroma file explorer to copy your WhatsApp backup to external SD card....
After that you can wipe everything and start installing a rom from scratch.

I cant flash rom

I did not update since i buy. It is 2.3.6 gt8160.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/rom-cyanogemod-13-sergeyl-t3277418 i like this rom, i want to install but i am not sure about steps. I tried a lot of things but now it is staying on a screen in recovery mode.
FÄ°rstly i need root.
so i tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27610432&postcount=31
are there any ways because i couldnot manage with this.. After
3) Switch off the phone and enter to download mode ("Vol Down + Home + Power").
Wait until the driver will be installed and Odin will recognize the phone!
it stays in downlading please dont turn off targe.t
After root, i want to install CWM because i know it from my previous phone. i used it. to install it, i will use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141395
is it correct? after root , i should do this.
and after those 2 installations, i can flash rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/rom-cyanogemod-13-sergeyl-t3277418
with those steps. RighT?
1. Download CM13 and GAPPS files
2. Copy the zips in the external memory card
3. Boot in CWM or TWRP recovery
4. For CWM: Select "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" - "Wipe cache" - "Wipe Dalvik"
5. Choose "Install Zip from external storage"
6. Select CM13 file
7. Choose "Install Zip from external storage"
8. Select GAPPS file
9. Go back to the root of the CWM, and select "reboot system now"
10. Done! First boot takes a while, be patient
11. Ignore message about SD card after CM13 first boot:
Formatting SDcard as internal storage will ruin it (don't format / encrypt)
Please give me suggestions if i am doing wrong.
