Uk Cam file~ - Defy General

Yes , so after flashing a rom onto my defy ive found that the camera doesnt work rather than doing something long i heard that it can be fixed by the UK cam file.
After i have the file i take it i just flash it onto my defy and hopefully fingers crossed it'll be fixed ?
So if Anyyone has the UK cam file for the Defy i would be really gratful for it
and if someone could possibly shed some light on what needs to be done with file as a confirmation that would be awesome~
Thanks in advance !

No camera software

I was having problems configuring a new T-mobile MDA III with blackberry. I contacted T-Mobile who directed me to install the latest rom image (MDA3_TMUK_v106160_SHIP0307.exe). After installing this, blackberry is working fine with our BES server, but I don't have any camera software on the device.
I do not know if the software was there before the rom flash, I did not look.
It does have a camera, but no way to use it. I have spoken to T-mobile again but I have not received a response, I thought I would try here to see if anyone here has any ideas. Is there a cab available that I could use to install the missing software? I have performed a hard reset but still no joy.

T-Moble (germany that is) at one time shipped two versions of the update software for there devices, one with camera one with out.
Back in the old days a xda patch came out to update a SX66 no camera rom 1.31 with a camera, You can find this on wiki, also you can try the cab for the WM5 rom (cameraFix) that might work. These you need to play with.
Best option is to get a rom from TMO that supports the camera
Cheers MDAIIIUser,
I downloaded Camera2K5_v1.rar from wiki, (ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Patches/Camera2K5_v1.rar) and this seems to work a treat.
T-mobile are still looking to the problem. They may yet send me a new Rom image with the software included.
Thanks again.
Wiggy
I've just posted about this problem
Good to know there are others out there with similar experiences!
I'm going to give that link a try and see where I get.

..I've downloaded this, but how do I install it on the MDAIII?
please forgive my ignorance!
If you extract the RAR file and you end up with a cab file then copy it to your device and tap on it in file manager.
I have know idea what is in the rar file.

XDA II need help ....

I recently bought a used XDA II. I cannot find the camera nor the album software on it and the button on the right does not work. I am reluctant to do a hard reset as I think that the rom has been updated to the latest version (including the lansacape setting) and eveything works beautifully otherwise and i really do not want to upset this....
Does anyone know of a way to download camera and album ?
I think those guy that used b4 jus downgrade from Wm5 .....
can anyone help me ?
cant believe this got no answer.....
check your settings, the button may simply have been de-activated to stop accidental starting.
the rest will be in there, use file explorer to check.
otherwise you need to flash an extented rom on the device
it should give you the cam software and the likes

Thanks mate! Greatly appreciated. Time to get my phone sent off for blue-tick upgrade and wanted to flash stock ROM just in case.
What's the blue tick upgrade do?

Telstra Moto Defy's were originally marketed as Blue Tick compliant handsets which means Telstra's testing has shown that they offer superior coverage in rural areas. Basically, between the time Telstra did this testing and graded the phone as blue tick, and the time the phone actually went on sale, Moto changed the hardware spec of the phone slightly. This hardware change resulted in the Defy falling just below Blue Tick standards. Telstra was initially unaware of the hardware change and continued to market Defy as a blue tick handset. Telstra then discovered the issue and basically offered customers who had purchased a Defy up to that time to send their phone back to Motorola to have their hardware changed back to that original spec that was blue tick complaint.
So the Blue Tick upgrade improves the coverage of the Defy slightly.
Clear as mud?

Yes, correct.
In addition to this I want to add that I spoke to Motorola to get my Blue Tick upgrade, the rep told me that there is a misconception that the Blue Tick issue can be corrected with the 2.2 update, which is NOT true, as it is a Hardware issue.
He also told me that the hardware component that needs replacing to fix this issue, is also the same component responsible for the Speaker issue (which could potentially affect all Defy's sooner or later if does not have the hardware fix). So by getting the Blue Tick upgrade you are killing two birds with one stone to get better reception and prevent the Speaker issue.
Will this work on the Telstra Atrix?
I returned my defy because of severe screen locking and other strange behavior (worse after blue tick upgrade and froyo update) but the reception on the blue tick atrix is consistently 10 to 20dBm worse than the defy was....any one else had that?
thanks mate will come in handy. do you know if its possible to downgrade from 2.3.4 to this rom? cheers
should be included here:

It you flashed using a full SBF rather than a Fixed SBF+nandroid, then I don't think that it is not possible to go fully back to stock at the moment. You will need to wait until Telstra have an official 2.3.4 ROM for the Defy (if ever) or the Bootloader is unlocked.

I will be able to downgrade?
Hi! I have my Defy with the original ROM that comes with it (34.4.709.MB525.Movistar.en.01 - 3.4.2-107_JDNL-9) and it come with Froyo 2.2.1, I have made a Nandroid backup, and now, I want to flash my phone with this Froyo 2.2.2 ROM, but I have read that if I install non-fixed ROM's (like this one) I DON'T WILL BE ABLE TO DOWNGRADE AGAIN.
So, my question is: If I flash my Defy with this ROM (Froyo 2.2.2), I'll be able to downgrade to Froyo 2.2.1 without troubles? (for warranty purposes).
Thank you so much for reply!
And sorry if I have grammatical errors, my native language is Spanish. Bye!
Any chance someone could repost this somewhere? I have a Telstra phone, but did a one-way upgrade to T-Mob Froyo, and now can't get it to upgrade to the official Telstra Froyo. 'twould be most helpful.
Cheers.

mediafire is a little faster today. so here it is:

Thanks mate. Really appreciate it.
Thanks !! for the ROM!
Sorry guys, I didn't realise that the link went dead. If it happens again (since all the file sharing sites are dropping off since MU went down) send me a PM and I will reupload.
I have been informed that the repost is dead too. Can anyone suggest a host for XDA ROMs since all the Megaupload-like sites are dropping out? If I made a torrent, I don't have a machine running 24/7 that can seed it out.
If anyone needs it urgently before I new host becomes clear send me a PM and I will find a way to send it to you. Same applies if you are willing to host it.

I recommend Dropbox. You get 2 GB for signing up. If you sign up through the link in my sig, you'll get 2.25 and then there are some tweeks to extend it more.
P.S. I can host it too, as my Dropbox is 28GB

[Q] Can anyone guide me? (CM7 for brazilian Defy)

Hi there,
I'm a brazilian owner of a Motorola Defy and have been looking to upgrade it to cyanogen since the day I bought it. Then I learned Motorola was somewhat working on a official 2.3 update and decided to wait and see the results. That was months ago.
So I decided to finally take a step and try CM7. Thing is, I'm a completely newbie in android (this is my first phone wich uses the system), so a lot of things in the guides simply don't make sense to me. Can anyone explain me some things?
1. Can I upgrade it to the last CM7 build without losing the ability to move it back to official 2.2? How?
2. If not, will I be able to change to the official 2.3 when it comes out?
3. Will the system be 100% portuguese?
4. I'm colorblind and don't know my lense color. My phone is somewhat new but I would like to be sure wich is my camera before changing the system. Is there a way to do that without looking at the lense? (I heard about red camera doing noises when switching on and etc.)
Last, can anyone guide me through the upgrade process, from the very start?
Android version: 2.2.1
Version number: 3.4.2-107_JDNL-9
Thanks for your time and sorry for the bad english/yet another newbie request.
some help for you
here is the link for CM7 by quarx

as for the color of lens have a friend look at it for you.
The rest of your questions are covered in the forums. But yes you can go back to an official rom by flashing it using RSD lite.
Happy flashing

Hi,
the model of your lens is not related to a color.
In this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1116694, this post gives you an easy way to find out which lens you have :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16075328&postcount=32.
I'll check these links *again*. Most of my doubts still exist but thanks for the effort, anyway.

Thanks hervelo,
did you try this method yourself? I ran the app and followed the instructions but could not find any "cameracommon" entry. I haven't really understand what he meant with the emoticons..
Yes i did and it works, don't forget to launch and exit the camera (4 and 5) and it should work. I have made this mistake the first time.

Found out I had a lot of processes going on and the cameracommon entry was being forgotten faster than I was searching for it.
But hey, it says I have BAYER device. It means I have a red camera, isn't it?
Not necessarily RED but it means that you should be able to record 720p. I have a BAYER lens too but I did'nt try any hack to do it. I am waiting for the right CM7 nightly to make it work.
Ok, I got it. Thanks for the help and good news, I'm a lot more confident now. Gonna wait for the rest of my questions to be answered now, like the language one
I am french and the french version is pretty good. My point of vue is that the quality of the translation will depend on people reporting for mistakes.
Anyway, read carefully the documentation chem57guru gave you, the FAQ is really complete, so it should answer almost all of your questions.
Good luck.

Need Stock-ROM for P8000(B)

Yesterday I bricked my brand new P8000(B) - the new version with Marshmallow 'out of the box' (and the new SIM slots etc...)
I tryed to reflash several stock- and custom ROM's but they don't work because they are made for the 'old' version and there must be major differences in the hardware. At the moment the main problem is that the LCD driver is wrong and the display shows only lines and blurry spots
The Phone was running on ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - this ROM is not available at needrom or bbs.elephone.hk even Google doesnt know
It would help a lot if some could supply the ROM "P8000_6.0_20160516" - thank you!

I can do nothing else than blaming you, I wrote a reply yesterday to the eragon forum that there's someone else who flashed -not even a custom rom- just the root .zip that was for the "old" p8000 and got his phone bricked the same way as you (LCD driver problem). That's why I asked for a dump/backup. It could have been useful for you too (as in this case) and for the other guy too. But nevermind, I hope that you learn from this for later things... anyways, the other guy has contacted elephone on their facebook, so I hope you'll get the rom so you can use your device again. Good luck!
I have this version too, just got it today.
If someone can explain to me how to create the scatter file and the backup, I'll do it.
I have some experience with this stuff, but MTKDroidTools tells me unknown rom structure.
Any help?
I do have the same problem (see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/rom-p8000-t3431571 ). I just wanted to root the phone because I liked to change the wifi modem file but i didn't even realize that I got another version of the phone at this point, so I bricked it.
I also contacted the support via facebook, but the support guy had to ask the engineers for help.
But maybe someone can help Emileh taking a dump of his phone, that would be really great!
@ardrift
you are sooo right but I have'n expected that two phones of the same type contain conplete different hardware respectively the firmware is not supporting both hardware versions. Even the manufacturer does not metion to check the hardware version before flashing...
@Emileh @flo1k
I do have a second 'untouched' P8000(B) too - and I'm starving to copy the firmware from this working phone to the faulty phone if someone could explain how...
problem solved
flo1k managed to get a stock ROM for this hardware version - the softwarepackage is named K06TE-A.A.vR14.E1.160707 and should be available at the elephone forum soon....
Further information you can get here http://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-p8000/general/2016-version-fingerprint-scanner-t3436270
