Is it possible to remove Verizon from the lock screen and everywhere else using CDMA Workshop?
I read in the EVO theme section that this was used to remove Sprint, and replace it with a personal name.
I am no dev so I thought I would ask. thanks in advance.
If you found the thread for the evo it should be the same. Also I'm just chiming in to say yes you can change it with cdma workshop.

I just tried this and I get a message that reads "Phona ask for SPC. SPC (6 digits) is required" when I hit write. Not sure what to do now?

It's your MSL number. Look for MSL Reader in the market. Your phone has to be rooted.
don't know if you have found this yet, but the password should be your MSL. there was a thread on finding this in the past I think (search for MSL in the EVO forum), you can call though and ask for it (it's different for each device) or call and complain about something like error 67 where it says it can't retrieve your profile, they will tell you what the password is during the troubleshooting.
What are you trying to do in DATA though ?
also next time put this in QA, this is a question, and try the search button, but until this thread is moved we can help you w/ what you are looking for in data to fix.
Download MSL Reader from the Market my friend.
I bought an Evo 4G and didn't know it was currently flashed to MetroPCS. I have enough knowledge and experience to flash it back so that is not my issue. The phone has something written into it so the Lock Bar Banner and the Notification Bar have Metro PCS on them (see pics). I have run RUU's, flashed roms, factory reset, ##786# reset, hooked the phone up to cdma workshop and the banners remain! In cdma workshop the banner says Sprint PCS but it displays the MetroPCS. I am completely stumped... Any help?
Solution:
You will need CDMA Workshop and you will need to read NV Item 8042. On stock Evo 4G's this file is inactive but on my phone it had HEX and when converted to text was @mymetropcs.com. I zeroed it out and wrote the file I edited. This file seems to override the "BANNER" that most diagnostic software can change. Even after a ##786# Reset this banner will remain if it is written on NV Item 8042.
You will need to hex edit the htclockscreen.apk and more than likely you are gonna find the esn is bad if it was on metro as probably 80% of phones flashed to other carriers were purchased with a blacklisted esn which means you will have to flash it to sprint using your old phone, however if sprint finds out they will terminate your account and blacklist you from ever obtaining service thru them again so tread lightly and never go to sprint for service

Thank you very much, I will try that now but am still confused as to how this apk would have not been affected by a RUU?
In qpst, after you connect the phone in service programming, on one of the tabs (I forget which one) there is a space marked "banner". Type sprint or whatever you want it to say and hit write to phone. I made mine say boost since I use them obviously. On some roms like the one I'm using, there is an app that you can use to change it too

Usually that would work but I wouldn't have been posting this thread had that been the case. Usually a ##786# reset would have wiped it had that been the case. This one was written into an NV item.
Thanks man, i was having trouble finding a solution. I kept trying to do it through qpst but it wouldnt change it
Changing the evo shift over to bost mobile.
I have changed everything to match the donor.
But data still doesn't work, I input the aaa and ha key
And the username for my boost account,if I hit the
Phone information buton on my phone settings about section
It doedsnt show the username and I believe it said unknown.
I've been using qxdm and #data to write the info, but it doesn't appear
To change. Also when I try to change username in phones datas settings
Android crashes.
Any ideas?
Hey. This is the epic forum so it'd probably be a better question to ask at the evo shift forum. Not to be rude, but it us coherent for each phone and other shift owners can give you the best advice.

I'm sorry, it is an epic, I just have to get used to saying that because I had my evo shift for such a long time. Does anyone have any ideas?
I have been searching for a way to get my SPC code and have had no luck, I remember back in the vibrant days, it was as easy as an app, I have found tools that will pull it from cdma phones, but our s4 don't count. if anyone can point me in a direction to either pull the SPC or MSL for our s4 it would be appreciated, I am a beginner dev and trying to keep up, Thanks
Hmmmm Msl codes are only for CDMA phones this would include only the Sprint Variant .... Not the T-mobile or Att Verison.
How ? Pay for it there are plenty of sites that get it for you for $2 dollars or less...
But if your talking about Network unlocking the phone ... go to T-mobile or any phone shop with a skilled tech he will unlock it ....
specifically I need the spc code but they are seeming used interchangeably where all searches take you, that's why I included it with my post... its for tinkering with more advanced settings myself,
Its like 2-5 dollars to get it calculated ..

Its simple, go to the play store and download get my msl. Then go to the dialer of the phone, type ##data# and click edit, where it asks for the spc, put six 0's. Only do this once or your phone will restart, It will tell you the code is incorrect. Now go back to "Get My MSL" and click view MSL, profit!
Hello, I am new here but have intermediate experience with devices.
Alright time to throw everyone for a loop lol, hopefully someone can help me out.
Here is my problem:
My phone is not connected to a network.
Here is what I have:
Samsung Galaxy S III with Metro PCS (NOT rooted, and with latest PRL and software updates)
What happened:
I woke up yesterday to find my phone not on Metros network, and not on a partner network. My 4G still works though, I can access internet but just can not call/txt or receive either.
In Settings > About Device > Status, here are some of the satus'...
Network: Searching for Service
Signal Strength: -93dBm 47asu
Mobile Network Type: LTE:14
Service State: Out of Service
Roaming: Not Roaming
My Phone Number: Unknown
Min: Unknown
PRL Version: 0
Things I've Done So Far:
Contacted Metro through phone support and Facebook support, neither could help fix the problem.
Took my phone into a Metro store and they wont honor a repair since my screen has a hairline crack in the screen. (which I will also say, they noted that already on my account...)
I've already went to *#22745927 and enabled the hidden menu multiple times (cause it disables with each restart) and I've went to **772 to view my MDN and MSID (MIN) and the MDN shows nothing and MSID has a 10 digit number (that's not the right number for my account), so I tried to edit them to the numbers that I know are correct and after I hit done, the phone restarts but then when it comes back on, nothings changed, and when viewing **772 again, the numbers don't save in the fields.
I know *#197328640# lets you access the service menu, but I don't really feel like touching any of that and making things worse (unless someone knows how to fix this issue through the service menu then ill do it)
Now that my long winded speech is done, its your turn to try and solve this dilemma and help me out please
I hope this is the right section to post in, sorry if it is not.
Thanks in advance to any help ^^ if anyone's got any other questions, ill try to answer them best as I can.

Did you IMEI change? Check if it's 004999010640000
1.) Wrong forum. You have a US Version of the S3. Not the international... Ask a mod to move it.
2.) Don't quote the WHOLE OP. Especially if you're the first flipping person to reply!

I'll bump it once more, since its now been moved to the correct forum.
The IMEI question is still relevant, is it intact? But from what your saying it sounds like you have the old metro s3 model, meaning it's a cdma device not gsm like ours. You probably need to be in Sprints forum as their fixes for this kind of problem will likely be different than ours. I can already tell your dialer codes are different....

First of all thanks for posting
and the IMEI is fine and is there.
I got the GS3 from Metro the first day it came out.
Ok, it's probably the SCH-R530? model. Since T-Mobile bought metro they now have the SGH-T999N. The original one for them was a variant of Sprints if I remember right.
I'd just copy your OP here into a new thread there. They'll probably be better able to help than most people here.
