Ok, so I flashed the semi-new Simplicity Base Rom (published 1/18/11) and it works really well. I get great battery life, i've added the apps I need/want, and changed a couple things to get it to look the way i want.
One of the things I changed was the the Google Search Box (I used Myn's 2.2 dark box...very nice) and up till a couple days ago it was working beautifully. I think what happened was I updated the Voice Search app from the Market and that seemed to screw the Voice Search feature up.
Now, all I get is "No Speech Heard" when I tap the microphone button. The app doesnt even try to listen for sound, as if the microphone isn't even initializing. Anyway, I tried uninstalling the searchbox and the voicesearch apps and then reinstalling....nothing seems to be working. I'm hoping someone can offer up some good answers.

Ever since i flashed to the CM6 Nightly builds i've been encountering a few problems. These problems didn't exist with my previous rom which was the damage control 3.2 i think.
First problem is the on-screen keyboard, it seems like this keyboard is the one that comes with the new froyo update, i dislike this keyboard mainly because everytime i try to type anything in the web browser box the whole keyboard screen slides up after each button press. this gets extremely annoying, this keyboard also doesnt have the directional buttons so editing documents or just simply editing typos is cumbersome. I would like to switch back to the keyboard i had before, i believe it was the keyboard that was on 2.1
Second problem is the flash player doesn't work at all, it definitely worked on Damage Control but for some reason it doesnt work on this CM6 build, yes i've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing seems to fix this problem. Is this a known problem in the CM builds? Mainly flash videos don't work. i've yet to try it on games like miniclip.com.
any help on these two problems would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
I just remembered I have 1 more question its about a voicemail app that let's u hear ur voicemails straight from the app I remember there's a play, last, and next button I remember I had it on the stock sprint rom. can anyone tell me what the app is called and where I can get it?

Hi again.
After a while of running with CM7.1, I took a chance on the KANG version of CM7.2. Now, I'm impressed so far with some of the little tweaks - the lockscreen torch is great, and just what I needed.
However, last night I noticed that two apps I use regularly had stopped giving me notifications. One of these is Wordfeud, which to be honest, I'm not fussed about - but the other is Sportmate, which gives me goal alerts etc when my team are playing. Has anyone else on CM7.2 had this issue? Is it fixable?
Try to install this. Looks like they changed the name of the app. Maybe they changed more than that.
Yeah, I actually saw that after I posted - not sure of the details, apparently the original app had breached Google's terms. However, while I'll see if the new app works fine, I doubt it's the app that's causing the problem, as Wordfeud also has the same issue.
Okay, I give up. Having reinstalled Wordfeud (well, replaced with the paid version)... notifications are now working. Assuming that the reinstall of Sportmate will now also works, it appears I'm just actual crazy.
Hey all,
Its been awhile since I got on to S3 forum..!
Good to see a lot of progress went on..
Well, a quick question regards Google map & its voice turn-by-turn navigation.
When I updated my stock S3 to 4.1.2 and debloated, I do not get ANY voices in Gmap.. when its time for me turn, the phone just makes alarm noise (Dingle)
I remember I had the same issue with CM10.1, where I did not get any voice guided Turn-by-turn directions.
Is there a way to get this feature back on track?
Seems like theres no option to set anything related to voice so I am kind of lost here.
Any tips would be appreciated :good:
I actually JUST had this issue a few weeks ago. Changing the TTS setting: h t t p ://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/maps/qYhKWUz7SdY%5B1-25-false%5D
Along with clearing the cache and data from the Navigation app and Location Services and then restarting seemed to work.

I recently used the cleaner to remove the bloat ware from my note 3. Like a nub I didn't think to check the file list and accidentally picked the one that removed all the cool features from the phone.. Most importantly the voice recognition was gone.
So I downloaded a complete app file and put it in the appropriate folder and did a factory reset. Almost everything went back to stock except one thing. My voice activation of the camera, music, and alarm clock no longer works. I am also not getting the notification at the top telling me that I can use said voice functions. Additionally the voice setting is missing in the settings screen. I can still get to it by searching for the settings and it says it's on.. and I can even change it ect.. but still nothing. The only thing I can do is say "hi Galaxy" to wake the phone. S voice still works And I Can Search And Text And All that.
So what am I missing? Is it just a simple ask that I may have overlooked? Any help would be awesome.. or directions to a download of a 100% complete stock app folder would be awesome
nevermind.. found the stock rom

My Captivate Glide has to last me 6 more months, but hardly any apps work in ICS. To be fair, it would hardly make phone calls on Gingerbread. In fact, I'd press call, and from 5 to 60 seconds later, it would make the call. Occasionally longer! Well, I was sick of that so I decided to try ICS. Got it to work through Odin3 (Samsung's software is not useful) and here it sits, not doing much of anything. Kindle, Maple Audio, MyFiles, Astro File Manager, Flixster, Task Manager, and a bunch of other apps just won't work. I've searched the forums, and the only bug I've found discussed is the keyboard backlight (which works perfectly). I do not want to downgrade. If anyone has any solutions, I'd greatly appreciate the help? (The only apps that seem to work are Fruit Ninja, email apps, Flashlight LED, and a few others. Battery gets hot, too.

Wow, sounds like a bad flash, or something really messed up going on... Have you tried flashing dmanĀ“s stock ICS? Or maybe one of the KK Roms? A really handy guide is located in general with step by step instructions :good:
Or you could give sediROM a try
