thank you, do you have any advise on overclocking?

If you are on 2.2 there is no overclock solution at this time.

i think the adfree thing completely screwed up my phone with a million force closes, so much that i couldent do anything no matter what i did, i had to completely reflash it with the rom again. the addfree thing was the FIRST thing i installed agian, and i get a forceclose message again. this time it is SNS (process com.sec.android.app.sns) and it keeps displaying it repeatedly

Yep, I to had a lot of fc's with adfree

I used ad free and still get ads in angry birds and the xda app. Did I do somethign wrong? I downloaded the list and think I have it running...

The ads in angry birds are brand new, assuming you mean the big pop up ones that everyone is up in arms about. Just like a antivirus program ad free just has to be continually updated with ads to block.
I wouldn't count on it blocking the angry birds ads though, or mattering if it did. I'm betting the pop up comes either way.

I never had any FC issues with Ad Free. It worked great on Viperrom Apocalypse and Frozen, but I all the ads now that I'm Bonsai v2.0.1. A little annoying, but it's what keeps those apps free, so I can only complain so much.

yeah adfree completely screwed my phone up, i get so many forcecloses i cant even do anything, like my addressbook doesnt work, and even if ai touch the screen like 4 of them pop up. its crazy, its almost like a virus....

Anyone having problems w/ installing angry birds? I have version 1.4.2 running fine, installed from market last Nov. But now Market hides this from me, and blocks it from appbrain. I really want to install 1.5.1 for the 30 new levels. The new updated market.android.com shows my phone (Captivate from ATT) does NOT support Angry birds.
Might this have to do with UnleashTheBeast? I've played Angry birds like crazy, and never seen an advertisement, thought UTB did that for me.
I upgraded AngryBirds Seasons the day after the Superbowl, and teh valentine levels worked fine.
Anyone seeing this??

I haven't ran into any problems except for angry birds but a lot of stock rom users on other devices have said they couldn't either.

The beta is over for Angry Birds (I think) and CPS2 has been removed due to complaints from Capcom. You can still get CPS2 via the developer's blog. jrioni-cps2.blogspot.com
angry birds is still in market for my friends hero so there must be a issue with cm6... and thanks for the info on cps2!
yeah i found a website confirming that angry birds is a no go on cm6 for some reason.

Ah... that's strange. I can't see it either. I can see protected apps and AFAIK everything else. I wonder what the problem is.

Ads being blocked

I recently installed cyanogenmod 6.1.2 and for some reason it is blocking ads without any program installed to do that. I used to have have adfree installed on other roms but that's not the case anymore and I'm trying to run an app called audiogalaxy but it wont work without ads. I guess my question is does cyanogen normally block ads and if not, what might be causing this.

Flame-retardant suit on....
As long as a developer isn't obnoxious with ad placement, and especially if they offer an ad-free version as a choice, I really don't have a problem with ads. And in fact, I could almost consider it a form of piracy to block ads. (Extra flame resistant gel added.) The developer has decided they want to be paid for their work, and there is nothing wrong with that. Whether you download a cracked version or whether you use the ad supported version and block ads, you're preventing them from getting paid. I think ad-supported apps are a reasonable compromise. They get some compensation, and you don't have to shell out a dime.
I do have ads blocked right now, and I did it because I love Angry Birds and they made it nearly unplayable with the new ad placement, and didn't allow us the choice of an ad-free version. That just ticked me off. I actually feel bad about the other developers who aren't getting paid as a result. I'm thinking about turning it off, and/or buying the ad free versions of some of those apps. I wish I could just block ads in specific apps. I have some apps that are useful, but not so useful or frequently used that I feel like paying for an ad free version, and I'd be happy to let them get some revenue from ads when I use it.
I also don't deny that I'm completely hypocritical on this with my Tivo. I'm fast forwarding through the ads of the recorded GB/Philly game as I write this. I'm NOT passing moral judgment on anyone. If you want to block ads, that's fine. As I said, I have done it myself, but as I started to think about it more, I started to question whether it's really that different than downloading a cracked version (which I won't say I've never done either, though I've been making an effort to resist and correct lately). It's just something I thought I'd bring up in case someone hasn't thought about it from that perspective.

[SOLVED] [Q] Testapps ... in market/play

One fine day noticed this sitting at the top of the apps list in market.
Clicking open launches Tetris. Tried freezing tetris and it disappeared, unfroze and it came back. Does this mean it's really a mislabeled entry for tetris and not malware of some sort? But why now all of a sudden?
Solution: See this post.

I don't know. I think it's safe though-read some reviews
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Yea it seems to be just us play users have it. pretty crazy.
Looks like it even has an official market link TestApps, how weird
In market on the phone, there are 337 comments (as of now), but nothing on the web market.
Also, all those reviewing it as safe are simply doing so because hitting open on the app launches tetris. I may be wrong but it could also simply be linking to tetris while actually being more malicious underneath. Kinda like how even a simple batch file can launch two apps (or more) and one app may be a background process, while the other is the visible smokescreen...
I would assume that this app is malicious, as the developers website link, links to a dead domain. I'd suggest removing it asap.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using Tapatalk
Can't really remove it, even with a system utility, because we simply don't know what to remove!
And freezing/removing tetris seems to remove the entry from the app list in market. If it's trojan-like, it's very well integrated.
I think we're entering a new era of android malware, and it's pretty scary...

Look in /data/app or /sd/android.secure for any .apk with that apps icon, delete the .apk then format dalvik cache and it's gone
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using Tapatalk
LOL, it has no icon either.
So I deleted cache/cleared data for google play, uninstalled it back to the market version and then let it reinstall the google play update and the entry seems to have disappeared. Time will tell...
I looked at it now the icon is yellow and it has a blue and a green picture as the app preview. I uninstalled tetris a long time ago so it has the download option on mine.I'm not going to attempt to download.

So it's definitely tetris then? Just with a buggy market entry?
Dang, there goes my whole malware conspiracy theory...

I'm not sure. When I look up tetris, it shows up normally. When i look up testapps it shows the glitchy thing.maybe it's something that came with tetris? Anyway doesn't google recently for malware apps?
Sent from my R800x using XDA
Wait, where do you see tetris normally? It doesn't show in the market app list anyway...
It's only appeared since the lasted market update, which made some of our other bloatware appear in that list too. I'd say it's just a bloatware version of Tetris, instead of just using the normal download of it.
Updated OP with the solution.

Amazon Appstore vs. Play Store Updating Conflict

I don't know why I'm posting here as this is also happening to my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but for some reason, Angry Birds Rio and Pocket, are caught up in an updating loop between Amazon Appstore and Play Store. Whenever I update it using one market, the other market says that app needs to be updated. Doing so, will revert the update-needed status to the other market, and so on. I know it has nothing to do with each of the markets as I have tried originally downloading the files from one and the other and this still happens.
The weird part is that it only occurs with these 2 apps. All other apps that was updating using one market, cleared the update status on the other market as well.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?! I know it may sound confusing, so I can explain it a little better if needed.
Thanks in advance...
I get the same thing, only for Pandora though. Really annoying.
It burns when I Tapatalk...
I have had this problem for a long time. Here is the issue. If you ever "bought" it in the Amazon store, it will show up there. I have 5 apps that have this problem, and it is because I must have installed them at some point from the Amazon store, so they are on the Amazon list. There is no way (that I am aware of) to remove something from the Amazon store after you have installed it. It will always show up on your list, and therefore will always show a conflict even if it is the same version. It is VERY annoying, and I wish I could fix it, but I can't.
maybe someone else have a solution, but I don't.
I think you are talking about the "Available Apps" list in the Amazon Appstore. I am talking about the "Update List". I have never bought Angry Birds Rio in either store and this loop is found between them.
Amazon appstore is crap. I won't even install the free apps anymore. The apps I really like I repurchased from the play store.

Actually you can remove apps from the Amazon App store if you log into your Amazon account (NOT in Appstore). Once logged in, go to Your Account, then to Your Apps and Devices. There you should see a list of all your apps you have purchased as well as any free apps of the day you may have downloaded. Click on the Actions button beside the app and select Delete This App. Easy peasy!
And as an aside, I have had the exact same problems with updates between the Amazon and Google Play stores.
My quick answer is choose one market over the other.
Amazon and their penchant for DRM is enough to keep me away. The lack of support for e-pub format on the kindle is also annoying.
I could go on but no one wants to hear it.

Oh **** they added that finally? Nice
Well, I removed Pocket from my app list in the Appstore site and it is still showing it in the Update tab for Amazon Appstore. Even though I downloaded it from the Play Store.
This is so annoying. Shouldn't the markets verify the app version somehow and work with each other?
Wow! The new update for Amazon Appstore from today fixed my issues with Pocket. The only problem is with Angry Birds Rio now. I think it might have something to do with it being ad-free from Amazon and not from the Play Store. Anyone else can confirm that Rio is giving them this issue?
How weird that the update came out today. It's like they're spying on us. =)

I have had this issue with k9 mail forever. The problem lies with amazon using older versions of most apps. Unless it is a FAOTD I don't even bother getting it from amazon. Play store ALWAYS has a newer version

Sudden Ads In Apps

Is anyone else getting random ads popping up in apps?
Nope. Nothing new here.
Have you installed any new apps lately?
Some of the free apps will plague you with adware.
Sucks, because some nasty devs will get their app reviewed by hundreds of fake people giving it 5 stars just so they can get you to install the crap.
I cringe whenever I install a new live wallpaper because those are notorious for this.

Ah, I remember in 2014 I had a Droid RAZR M, and it was my first Android... Got dupes into installing some god-awful battery app, and it uninstalled itself after getting me to let it be an administrator; although, it was still there running. But it would never show up in settings in my apps list, so I couldn't "remove it", and on the play store it would say it was installed... Did this same thing, and it also would take me to a random page whenever using the play store... Had to do a complete factory reset... Was AWFUL
