Dropbox issue - Windows Phone 7 General

Hi People,
I'm using an omnia 7 right now, it appears that after trying 3 separate apps to connect to the dropbox, I keep encountering the Login Failed - Please check your username/password error.
I am able to login on 2 other laptop, 1 desktop and my milestone so my login credential is definitely correct, can someone advise?

I use boxfiles and do not have this problem. Maybe you really are just typing your password in wrong on your phone keyboard.

doesnt seems like the case, i did look at every key i typed, well I tried over 50 times, hardly possible to miss a key in all those tries?

Anyone know of any free dropbox apps in development?

have you tried it over wifi? if it works over wifi but not over you data connection, perhaps your carrier is blocking it?

I tried both wifi and 3g.
edit: I just did some research on the net that apparently iphone/ipod touch had this issue before due to the time settings, but that has been checked and it's still not working.

Opera crashes and Internet connection probs with TP2

Hi all,
I am loving my TP2 but have a couple of annoying issues. anyone else experiencing the same...?
Firstly Opera keeps crashing. Tends to happen when trying to log in to a site. www.facebook.com mobile site is fine but crashes if I try to log in to the full site. I downloaded Opera 9.7beta and it does the same on that one too.
Also my internet connection keeps dropping. If downloading emails it might download the headers then lose the connection. Sometimes pressing send/receive gets it back online but othertimes it wont connect again until I go in to comm manager and turn the phone radio off then back on.
Frustrating problems that I didn't expect from a brand new device.
Never tried logging into the full site. I tried it right now but it I can't even input my username. So I gave up. Using the mobile site is just as good. I don't think it can handle the full site anyway.
I have never lost my connection in a good reception area. It could be your area or your carrier that has a weak reception. Try in a different area or try the phone using another network or carrier. Ask a friend to help you that uses a different network.
Make sure they are ok with you using data tho.
I had the same problem when logging on full Facebook site on my old Kaiser with Opera 9b1, it was crashing.
But on my TP2 using the included Opera, its working quite good without crashing.
Maybe you installed another sofware that uses all the memory ? just a random guess.
Looks like the HTC built in T-Mobile settings could be the cause.
The built in settings have a Proxy Server setting that I couldnt remove so I set up a new connection using:
general.t-mobile.uk
user
pass
And did not set up a static IP address. It seems to be stabler in the 20 mins I have used it and I can now log in using the WM Facebook program as previously it would not let me log in.
Hope that helps someone.
I'm back again for some help!
I have managed to get Facebook working and Opera no longer crashes using the new data settings I entered but I am still losing my data connection.
When I lose it I get the "Cannnot connect for an unknown reason" pop up box. If I clear it I can occassionally get the connection to then activate but usually I am having to cycle the phone radio within Comm Manager before it will go online. This is really annoying as if the box comes up it won't check for email till I OK the message and get the data connection working again.
I am using a T-Mob sim that worked fine in my Tytn II and checked all settings but all seems ok.
Could it be a faulty radio that keeps kicking me offline? Calls seem ok. I have dropped a few but have also had 30 min + calls so seems to be specific to data.

Opera 9.7 beta
I tried installing the new Opera beta on the unlocked/unbranded Touch Pro 2 it either doesn't start getting stuck at the splash screen or it starts and then crashes after a click or two. I am unable to use it at all. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

[Q] Chrome to Phone

Has anyone managed to get Chrome to Phone to work? Yes, I know the 101 isn't a phone, but I assumed it worked via the active internet connection? Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling etc, and its all set up exactly as on my Desire, again where it works fine.
Unfortunately it's not working for me either. Wish we can find a fix because this little archos is a sweet internet device...
EDIT:
Ok got it to work. When i set up my Archos I had used the same gmail that I used on my Android phone. I guess this causes confusion in chrome to phone? Anyway
Settings>applications>Chrome to phone>delete data
Sign in with a different gmail account and it's working. I know this is not optimal to use a different account but it's a workaround till we find a real fix.
I try, but it has a lug 3-5 minutes before getting links

[Q] Unable to download from Market using 3G?

Update with fix [Thanks jayclapp!]
For anyone with this issue, go into your APN settings and remove anything in the "Proxy" field, right below "APN". Fixed the problem immediately for me + jayclapp!

Hi all,
Having an issue downloading anything from the android market on 3G. 3G works for everything else besides downloading from the market (browsing, email, sync, etc).
When I switch to wifi, I can download from the market perfectly fine.
I've tried a friends SIM with a different carrier, and it DOES work over 3G.
Logcat of the issue happening From what I can tell the error starts around line 50, but I included the full log in case it helps.
I'm not much of a developer so I'm just trying to determine why exactly it's happening, as Android simply spits out a pop-up with the useless message:
[App name here] could not be downloaded due to an error.
I have a friend on the same carrier with a Nexus S and she can download apps from the market fine. Haven't been able to test her SIM in my phone yet though.
I've found some others with a similar issue (although not restricted to only happening over 3G): http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=5a31588b6f655e89&hl=en
None of the solutions there helped though. I've cleared market data, wiped, factory reset, tried different roms, etc.
I'd really appreciate any help.
i'm having the same problem - using a galaxy nexus on tmobile. haven't had the change to try on wifi yet.

Glad I'm not the only one...
By searching pastebin, I've found a few others that pasted their logcats with the same issue, but I can't find wherever they posted it to see if a solution ever happened.
One solution I found was to delete / rename the .android_secure folder on the "SD" card, but I see that folder on my phone. I know dotfiles are hidden by default but I'm showing hidden files and I don't even see .android_secure from adb shell.
I'm on Mobilicity in Canada, which also uses AWS bands, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I don't like bumping, but I still have this issue and was hoping someone could help out.
Sucks only being able to download apps over wifi.
I saw Josh Topolsky from The Verge has been complaining about this issue on twitter the last couple days.
www.twitter.com/joshuatopolsky
I've tried everything to fix it, tried different roms, kernels, wiping, factory reset, different SIM cards, nothing will fix it.
The 403 error indicates that it's Google's servers that are forbidding the connection...but I see no reason why they would, and it's not like I can change the IP address of what my phone is being assigned by the 3G towers.
Everthing was fine on stock untill i flashed revolution hd 1.3.1... I had the same problem with market but for some reason i enabled wifi and started downloading stuff from the market...then i turned it off and magic it worked thru att 3g...
I hope this temp solution might help you guys out or maybe it just worked for me
Ditto
I'm facing the same issue with a Galaxy Nexus (bought from Virgin) on Mobilicity in Toronto: market works on wifi, but not on 3g.
I'm having this problem too. With Orange in Spain.
But is not a constant problem. Sometimes works fine, and another ones not. When the error comes out I try again several times untill it works. If doesn't I whait to have Wifi.
But as I said it isn't always. But some type of bug is.
I got the Galaxy Nexus yesterday from Virgin Mobile and using it with my Telus SIM and Android Market downloads dont work using the mobile network but switch to wifi I can download from Market. I've tried everything you mentioned as well and still no luck.
I have noticed some delays in downloading but I am pretty sure it is becasue of the "little" 10 Billion Apps promotion thats causing the issues.. the market must be seeing a lot more traffic than it can cope with.. servers must be over loaded!
Try market at off peak times (worked for me)!
This theory syncs quite well with the 10 Billion Apps promotion.. just a thought!

Unfortunately that isn't the reason. It's definitely something more serious / buggy than simply too much traffic. It's been going on for almost 2 weeks now, well before that promotion even started.
Anyone feel like pulling a logcat and seeing if it matches up with mine? I'd suspect it does (403 Forbidden errors).
It basically boils down to Google's servers rejecting the connection for one reason or another. 403 error = The server is connectable, but knowingly refused the connection. It's something on Google's end, but I don't understand why certain devices are being rejected while others aren't.
Went to apn settings and removed the proxy and now i can download from market over celluar
Just wanted to confirm your fix worked for me jayclapp!
Updating the OP with the fix, in case anyone stumbles across the same issue.
Bumping up the thread but i believe it's for a good reason.
I had the same problem with I9100 after upgrading to ICS from GB. Talked to Google play support, their solutions weren't helpful (erasing cache and stuff) and they said it's a carrier problem. I used another SIM from the same carrier and it still wasn't working....
So.... Stumbled on this thread, erased the proxy and now it's working!!!
So, i'm bumping this thread so it will perhaps show up in google in a higher search position and to say thanks to the OP (besides the thanks button)

Exchange sync

So my company doesn't officially support non-blackberry devices but unofficially the servers are set up to do it. My question is, it seems our IT department changes the exchange server settings randomly. It was originally bos-outlook.companydomain.com and I connected and everything was working fine on my E4GT. A colleague using iPhone wanted to access as well and set it up on his phone too and it worked. Where it became strange was a few days later, my phone stopped working and I got an error along the lines of server not available. Tried deleting cache, deleting and re-adding the account, nothing worked. I asked my iPhone colleague and his was working fine. I borrowed his iPhone and set up my email account on his phone and it worked. At first I thought IT blocked Android devices for some reason. That's where it became interesting. I looked at the exchange server setting on his iPhone and even though both his account and my account were set up as bos-outlook.companydomain.com, iPhone had automatically changed it to bos-exchange.companydomain.com. When I tried setting up the account with this new exchange server on my E4GT, it worked. A couple of days later, had the same problem arose and I just figured that the server changed again. Since I'm based in NY and not Boston, I guessed nyc-exchange.companydomain.com and it started working again. Of course, I got lucky that it was just substituting nyc for bos. In the future, it could be anything. What's frustrating is that my colleague's iPhone never stops working. His will automatically change to whatever the new server address is without him having to do anything. Anyone know if there is anyway for Android's to do that? Is there a setting for that somewhere? Thanks!
Try to do this. Stop using following:
bos-outlook.companydomain.com,
bos-exchange.companydomain.com,
nyc-exchange.companydomain.com
and instead of them use autodiscover.companydomain.com. This should fix your issue. Let us know did it work

Darn, I was really hoping that would work. Get the message "unable to connect server". I also tried removing the account and re-setting up using that address and get the same error. Any other tricks? Iphone must be using some kind of command to do an auto discover of some kind.
Apple products do update automatically regardless is it phone or pc (i still don't like them). I have no idea what could be wrong, unless your company either doesn't have autodiscover or somehow they renamed to something else (autodiscover1, webmail etc).

What do you mean Apple products automatically update? Are you talking about the OS and/or apps or are you talking specifically about how it connects to Exchange? If Exchange, the question I want to know is how exactly does Apple do it. Maybe my company doesn't have auto-discover or renamed it but when I used my friend's iPhone, it was automatically finding the server somehow. However it's doing it, you would think Android would also have a way to do it. That's my logic however hoping someone with experience managing Exchange servers could chime in.

[Q] Auto Sign In For Wifi Splash Page?

Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows if this is possible. The company I work for has free wifi, and I connect to it with my Galaxy Nexus LTE. However, every time, I have go to my browser, and click on the "Proceed" button to connect. My login credentials are already in there by default. I was wondering if there is a way where I don't have to click on proceed. It's a minor thing, but I am just curious if there is a way, that the Galaxy Nexus could connect automatically. I am using ICS Browser.
Some help would be nice

I know this thread is old, but I have a similar question. I have some java coding experience but haven't ever made an android app.
Anyways, the place I work at just revamped the wireless network, and now we have to login to the network via a splash screen everyday. Very annoying, considering when I pull into the parking lot I auto connect to the network.
My goal is to write an app that will look for the network (say once every 15 minutes) and make sure it can get out (ie make sure the google page appears) if not it will go the url of the spash screen and login you in.
I dont know if all networks using a captive portals are setup the same, but this one allows you to connect without anything, but won't allow data to travel until you login. And also doesn't present the splash screen to login until you open a browser.
Any help would be great. I'm not looking for someone to write this, only a point in the right direction. Thanks
