Ok if you hard reset your HD7 after it comes back and you use the same live account it will start installing apps you hed before hard reset.
However there is an issue with that I noticed of late (since we have registry editor ;D ).
Not all the apps you had are installed after reset. There is no rule to that except one. All apps that are to big to be downloaded via HSDPA will be skipped until you plug your phone to internet enabled PC with zune. Then there are some old apps I have uninstalled that will install, and some that old that I want that will not install. The same goes to more recent one's. So in short by the time phone sets itself up it has downloaded plenty off apps one does not need.
Is there a way to see all apps installed like in W.M 6.5 Marketplace and then select what not to install?

Ok i've just thought of two things that are getting kinda irritating on my M5000.
Firstly the fact that no programs seem to un-install, Every time i try to remove any progs i get an error telling me that the uninstall was unsucsessful and asking if i wish to remove it fromt the list of installed progs.
Anyone else have this problem? is there anything we can do about it or is it a case of manually removing everything?
the other thing is the hotmail email account, i dont ever use hotmail and it annoys me having to scroll through the extra account in messaging. is there a way to remove the hotmail account?
Regarding your uninstalling problem. If it happens on all programs you try to uninstall, then your uninstaller is corrupted. If it only happens on one program, then it's probably just that the uninstall information of that program is corrupted. You may want to try other utilities to do the uninstalling (eg. SKTools).
About the hotmail, well, that's easy. Go to Messaging -> Tools -> Options, tap and hold on Hotmail, then Delete.
Have you deleted some files from "windows\appmgr" ??
I've not deleted or changed any files at all. i've had this prob with all three handsets i've had and never been able to remove programs. even since brand new. programs include sbp pocket plus sbp gprs, tom tom, code north irc, resco explorer.
i've just done a hard reset but not installed any exrom cab's so in the next few days i might figure out whats wrong.
i'm sure i've tried to delete the hotmail account before iirc the delete option was greyed out. again i'll have a look when i'm home.
FIRST: If the files have today plug-ins, you first need to disable those plug-ins prior to uninstalling.
SECOND: Have you ever tried changing your bootsplash screen using EnableRapi.CAB? If your answer is YES, then that is the culprit.
To bypass these problems, try to install the same file again, your Universal will show a window stating you need to uninstall the program 1st, press YES, then your Universal will also ask you later where to install it. You can cancel the install if all you want is REMOVE the application completely, or install the UPDATED application if that was what your initial intention.

Hi Guys
I have been having problem with my XDA IIs known as BlueAngel= DarkAngel for me lol, the problem is that When I try to remove the programs through Remove Program short cut in settings First its asking me if I wanted to remove the selected program and when I click an error massage apears and says ( ... program was not completely removed. do you want to remove it from list of installed programs? ) and when click on yes, the same program which I was trying to remove, still apears to be in the list of programs installed in the storage memory.
I have tried MaUpgradeUt_noID_more_ruu[1].dll
by entering the USB mode and running the program but after complition I check the installed programs and all programs are still there.

The only solution I found was to wipe the Rom and start again! Sucks, but it seemed to be the only option.
Go get a PIM backup utility - Spb Backup - and save all the PIM data then do a full ROM update (even if it's to the same ROM you have now - you need to fully reinstall)
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BlueAngel_WM5_For_Beginners
Still, look on the bright side - it's a chance to clean away all the clutter, and update to the latest ROM ;-)
I would advise getting a piece of cloning software (Spb Clone) and using it reguarly as you are reinstalling! Then, if this happens again, you can just clone back to the last version that worked!

(I think Spb Software should be paying me, with all the advertising I keep doing for them on these forums )
Hey guys, i see a lot guys that factory reset their desires for space reasons. i currently have 50mb left and i have all my programs installed but let's say i will have a factory reset and erase the phone completely. i have the following questions:
1) is there a way to backup the apps i have installed now somehow and don't have to go again to each one on the market and download them ? don't tell me about my account and that it goes with the apps i bought cause they are all free and i am in cyprus which anyway the paid market is disabled.
i installed around 40 apps important for me and it would be great if i had a way to backup them somewhere or at least extract a list from somewhere with the list of the apps i installed in order to be able to find them again later (this is the last resort i'd want though)
2) my contacts in phone are 203 and in google are 200, i run the synchronization but they stayed that way. how do i update them all online in order to be able to sync them when i reset the phone ????
3) i mentioned it above but i have installed applications out of the market too. is there a way i can export a list with all the applications installed in the phone ???? (if possible NOT the already built in)
Thanks
"Astro file manager" (free) has a great function for backing up applications to sd card, you can then move them to your PC if you want.
As for the contacts you can use "mybackup" (free-30 days trial). This application backups up everything (contacts, settings, applications etch).
You can find both on the market.
I used Astro File Manager to back up my apps when I re-flashed to a generic ROM.
I used it to put all my apps back. Here's my problem. They are now not showing as installed in the Market app. Seeing as they were not installed from the Market I'm worried that I'll miss out on updates when they become available unless I manually check. Not all apps make the version number easy to find.
Anyone had any issues after a backup/restore?
Any apps not registered in the market will not update auto, what happens generally after a hard reset is when you sign in, go to downloads in the market app, and all your downloaded apps from previous to the hard reset will be there, then just install en mass.

Maybe, but not everytime. This option only restore system and disk C: but maybe documents too.
When you install Zune 4.7 you try update it. When it's impossible uninstall it and don't clean registry and cache, only install Zune 4.8.
Did you try Windows Installer Cleanup?
OK so I had the EXACT same problem... Only I disable my system restore as I never really use it and never have needed to (until now). Tried other uninstallers and non worked until now... Tried that windows installer cleanup and now Zune seems to be working! w00t w00t
