So I have read a lot about ext4 and haven't really heard any compelling reasons to switch except to kill other phones on quadrant. What are your thoughts? Does ext4 make real life improvements that matter?

The only thing that makes my life easier with EXT4 is it builds your application list faster (when adding shortcuts to a homescreen.)
Whether real or perceived, my phone definitely feels faster with accessing files and switching screens. I totally ignore benchmark tests. I don't even run them.
To me ext4 on 2.2 feels faster then 2.1 over clocked.

100% agreed. Load times and lag are significantly decreased from 2.1, even at 1.3gHz.

Thank you for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I have been on trulyepic for a week with rfs and have been very impressed with the improvements. I'm tempted to make a change. I'm waiting for an official ext4 rom for trulyepic but also considering something flashier like viperrom on ext4. I'm definately opening a can of worms here but is there a suggestion?

I use viper rom and am happy with it but I haven't tried all the other roms. FYI team viper will be releasing a new build tomorrow that will have their own custom launcher.

I am betting better if not the same as I was getting on di18 under volted.
Ext4 write/read cycles to the nanchip are less. Less writes/reads means less wear and less batery use.

hey guys i just traded my evo 3d for the epic 4g , im addicted to phones and flashing. I trade phones like every week whats the best and famous rom here? if you dont mind asking.
They are ALL good. Go into the Development forum and read through and pick some and try. Each one has different features. Anything else is just opinion.
I tried all the GB roms, but the rebooting and general unstableness sent me back to Froyo. I am having great results with SRF 1.2. YMMV.

Here it is: Every Epic's Dream ROM
Hands down it has to be Justin's "Rebirth," search the dev forum here. It should be listed as Paranoid Android, but there are links to Independent Android Project's homepage in that thread, which will take you to the DL page for the update. Justin and I have been running this ROM on about 10 different Epics for over 2 weeks, and the 2 phenomenon inherent in all these Epics is INSANE BATTERY LIFE, and increased signal. If you run into any problems or have any questions you are welcome to PM me, or contact Justin Maggiolo (the evil genius behind the ROM) through IAP homepage, or the IAP app.

I havent heard from the ACS team for a while. I really love your work. The Syndicate Frozen rom on the og epic was Crazy awesome. bring some love over to the epic touch too . you guys were working on a syndicate ice rom but suddenly stopped and i was just wondering whats up.maybe build it based off of ics? lol well hope u guys get this message . people like me miss your development and work! shout out to qbking77 <--- this guy makes everything 100x easier.
