Hi everyone,
I was wondering if the HTC Desire HD does have a second mic for the noise cancelation.
Almost every phone that HTC has built since Nexus One has this feature, but I can't find it on my DHD :-/
Am I wrong or blind to see it?
I actually would like to know as well, as I've looked and couldn't see anything.
I read somewhere some time ago that it didn't have a second mic but I'm not sure though.
No noise cancellation on DHD, no idea why HTC decided not to include it.

hey guys i have a desire hd and i want to connect it to my car screen, i dont know what app there is to do this, anyone know or even any thing that might help me accomplish this? i do have a v35 coupe with the stock screen and wish to do the same as this guy (skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gps-Vdeo-Motion-Soluti-t345217.html ) but with my htc desire hd (but i dont know any app thats similar to his on the iphone4 tvout2 its called) any help would be appreciated
As far as I know we have no tv out at all, so connecting the DHD to a screen is not going to happen.

Iv seen a video which I can't seem to find anymore of a bloke using a HTC ( cant say 100% it was a d hd but I think it was) he had his hooked up to his range rover screen and it was working, ..... anyways is there an device I plug the phone into then the device into the screen? Like a middle man sorta thing?
from what i know, you can only view a DHD on a laptop or pc screen using software, maybe the landrover owner was doing somthing simlar? also some htc's like the evo have HDMI out, as the other user said though the DHD has no tv out
Is the tv out just a jack port or a software feature that the dhd lacks? Eg I can't create a custom cable to fit into the dhd and end of wherever on the car tv wiring?
maybe you could use this when released
http://www.androidpolice.com/2010/0...on-box-lets-you-wirelessly-stream-to-your-tv/
yeah something like that would be good, but when will it come out?
also theres no way of just getting a custom made wire from dhd to wherever it needs to be plugged into for the screen to make it work? or it just doesnt work like that?

It's not so easy to hear, but there is a ticking sound coming from the phone instead of it vibrating. Used PleasureDroid app on Pulse 1 setting to make sure it was trying to vibrate. The phone basically makes that ticking noise instead of vibrating, it does that on boot or when clicking the buttons at the bottom.
Video was recorded with another Desire HD, the source file is not laggy but youtube seems to have made it laggy :/
Anyway the phone was fine before, it's my friends DHD he's had it for a few months with no problems, it's a HT0BLAX. It hasn't been dropped or anything.
HTC say they will replace it but they haven't heard of this as being a common fault.
My 2 week desire hd borked out on me.
It no longer vibrates. Tired that pulsedroid and nothing what so ever. Think mines must be faulty. Will need to send back for replacement.
Should of bought a nexus s instead.
my last desire made a sound like a v8 motor....it was so annoying...
i bring it back to the telekom shop and get a new one... now it vibrate normaly

Have this problem a few months ago.
Only way to repair: Call HTC or go to the phone shop where you bought your phone (or a shop of your provider ).
They can send your phone to HTC back, and they repair
i had the same problem... a soft ticking sound during the first week i purchaced it. during the second week i got no sound and no vibration at all any more.
i had it replaced.
my desire HD also vibrates like a pneumatic drill...
...my girlfriend loves it
(sorry for the bad joke, i'll get my coat)

My Desire HD sometimes makes strange clicks when vibrating(.
You really are just unlucky unfortunately. Send back to HTC and they will issue you with a replacement.

Me too! And it's very annoying. Any workaround other than disabling haptic feedback? It's so irksome I'm ready to disassemble my phone if necessary to fix it
i change the part of vibrate and it doesn't work.. any advice to fix it??
Hey all,
Since I have the DHD i have the problem that he recognizes my in-ear from skullcandy (no mic. or control) as a headset which should have mic and volumecontrols. It sounds like it doesn't matter but when I listen to music or even when I do nothing and my in-ear are plugged in, the phone begins to call people or stops the music by itself. It changes the icon from headphone to headset. Hope you guys know these 2 different icons. I guess the in-ear sends commands to the phone or something? I know pretty much everything about the DHD, but this... I also tried every ROM available for DHD.
Searched the forum for this problem but I couldn't find the answer.
A friend of mine who has got the Sensation (stock ROM) got the same problem..
I hope you understand what the problem is. Buying other in-ears just doesn't work, I've tried.
Buying in-ears with control is just too expensive

thats screen flex if you still within the "cool off" period take it back for a replacement.
i can confirm this does not happen on my one X no matter how hard i push.
Got my second one today with the same issue. Returned it the same minute I got it. Tomorrow i'm getting my 3rd one, if that fails I'm going for a refund.
I don't see an issue here. Why would you press the phone there at all?
It's not a problem! Mine does it too when pressed on the edge's on the screen. Jees I feel sorry for htc having to replace all these wonderful phone's because some idiot's think the have a faulty device's and then post on you tube. Dumb ass's just be content with this lovely/sexy tech.
*Sigh*
My Samsung Galaxy S did this, My desire HD did this, and so does my One X.
all Marginally, Why is it an issue? Do you need to firmly press the corners of your phone to use it?
Lol.... I think this thread should be closed now.

Ok, ok, i take the phone like this..
Hi guys,
Fairly new so take it easy on me.
New owner of the One X and is a worthy upgrade to my excellent Desire HD.
Sorry if this has been asked already but has anyone had any headphone problems. It seems when headphone inserted its just doesn't pick this up and continues to play audio via speaker.
I'm hoping I'm being very dumb and missing something cos I don't want the hassle of returning the phone.
Much appreciated guys.

It seems like your phone doenst recognize your headphones...
I had the same problem when i bought my sgs+
i solved it by trying several headphones and it worked with one i found
Thanks for the response.
I'll give that a good but seems bad that it can't work with any headphones.

It does seem strange, I have tried 4 sets of headphones with my HOX (I know, I just like headphones) and haven't come across this.
It could just be an issue with the set you have, hope it's not the phone/headphone socket, good luck!
I've only had it for 4 days so if I'm not happy after some tests it's going back to O2 shop. Which I want to avoid as I have just set everything up etc.

Lets take into consideration
he told us that he has a new phone
so i realy cant imagine its the headphone socket in the phone
if its stock it cannot be a soft bug (ofcourse it could but if it would be a soft bug htc would be a poooooooor cellphone manufacture )
So lets look
some phones (dont ask me why) do not recognize cheap headphones
in some way the do but than only one side works propperly or the sound is messed up or something else
I would call the HTC support hotline
IT must be your phone, mine recognises it perfectly.
Ok however this is a problem that cant be redone by anybody else in a propper way
i would suggest to contact your cellphone seller or the htc support hotline
Thanks for the response guys.
I'm going to try a few different headphones tonight and see what happens. Hopefully it's just these headphones it doesn't like.
If not then a return it is.

Let me know how u fixed the issue
definitely try different headphones. My Favourite pair of Sonys dont work in any HTC phone. They are noise cancelling, so they have a 5pin jack, and HTC's simply don't recognise it.
as long as you have a standard 3 or 4 pin pair, it should be ok, but there are some where the pins don't seem to line up just right...
**** thats what i mentioned to be the problem....
i know it sounds a bit stupid but if the sony headset is ur favourite u might search for a adapter or something else
Sounds like a phone fault to me - I've tried loads of headsets and headphones, all have worked in terms of sound coming out (mic and buttons working is a different story).
Did your HOX come with HTC headphones - I thought they were included as standard, (although they are tinny/cheap) if it doesn't work with them then there is a problem.
If all else fails take the phone and the headphones to the shop and get them to see for themselves.
Good luck.
Ok i dont have this phone and i dont know anybody by the moment who hast this phone
Ask other people u know owning the same phone like u if the may let u test the headset that works for them
To be honest today was the first time I tried some headphones while at work. And they were my old desire HD headphones I had in my draw.
So once I get home I shall try the new HTC ones as well as others I have.
And if not then I will indeed be returning to the shop. I'll let you guys know. Thanks again.

And I know totally off subject but any advice on battery calibration etc. Or maybe link to relevant thread as I can't seem to find one. Or one that makes sense to a novice like me.

Right guys I have good news. Its seems the One X just didn't like my old HTC headphones. All others I have tried have worked. So panic over.
It most be as mentioned earlier about the pins.

The battery does not need "calibrating".
Android calibrates its battery meter against the battery when the battery is fully charged. This means that the battery meter will show reasonable values for the remaining battery life.
That is a fact, regardless of what other people may say, think or do.
