Problem with voicemail - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am rooted and running fresh evo and Google voice. For the past couple of months I keep getting a Sprint voicemail notification. If I clear it it'll pop up again, sometimes minutes later, sometimes hours later. I've tried everything I can think of, disabling Google voice clearing messages from Sprint vmail (it happens even if I don't have vmail) and then restarting Google voice. I've updated profile, prl. I only noticed this after flashing riptide theme, but I don't see how that could be the cause. Any ideas?

If you don't use the sprint voicemail app just use root explorer and delete it. Its in /system/app navigate there then click mount r/w long press on the sprint vvm apk and delete. Presto no more pop up.

Google voice problem

I am running salvage mod 1.1 after switching from a sense rom. I set up Google voice and thought everything was going fine. Well I received a couple voicemails and they keep trying to go to my sprint voicemail. I tried to delete Google voice and reinstall and it still wouldn't work. Any suggestions?

Not trying to be an ass but try posting this question in this thread!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881557
The reason I'm saying this is because you have a better chance of someone answering your question then if you post it here where you have people with all sorts of different roms installed........BECAUSE it might be a problem with your ROM not Google Voice......hope you fix your problem soon!
When you reset it, did you set your voice mail carrier to google voice, and call that number it tells you to?

[Q] Skip Google Voice VM Setup?

Has anyone noticed lately that when you log in to google voice, it doesn't give the option to skip voice mail setup? Any way around this?
Huh? I only get asked when flashing a fresh rom

I usually sign in and out of google voice on a daily basis. It used to offer a "Skip" button when I would get to where it asks for the voicemail setup. Not seeing that option any longer. It's not a big deal or anything.. just requires me to go into settings and switch my voicemail options back over to my carrier.

If its anything like CM7 (and I believe it is since its aosp) go to call settings and uncheck "voicemail notifications"
Uninstall vm with TB and then flash this in recovery after clearing cache and dalvik
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?86aqzswx3bsao2y
I dont see any "voicemail notifications"
And i uninstalled voicemail..which is phone.apk. i figured it would jack up, but i tried it anyway and.........had to restore a nandroid
Anything else??
Maybe i should switch to normal voicemail..set it up..then switch back to gvoice??

Go to setting then go to call settings...go to voice mail settings then erase the #86 and enter in ur phone number
free the dirk
Go to settings > programs > call settings > settings (at the bottom), then Voicemail Service. See if you have an option to use Google Voice. I don't, but I don't have GV installed.

Phone.apk is not voice mail. Core.mobility.app is.
You deleted your dialer.

Are you using the vvm app or Google Voice now? If you're using vvm, then I don't know. I just installed, sent myself a message, and it has worked since. The only time I get that notification is when I have a Voicemail but data is turned off. Once I check the voicemail it goes away.
If you call yourself from another phone, do you get it in the voicemail app?

I can, but the icon is still there
Call in to your voice mail on the dialer and delete the voice message. Press 7 while listening to the voice message. Once done then set up your preferred voice mail app. I use Google voice

I had this issue on the Galaxy S3 when I first got it with a phantom voicemail icon that never went away despite not having any voicemails. I solved it by getting someone to leave me another voicemail and then deleting it. Might work for you as well.
After disabling it as suggested before, reboot your phone.

Same thing happened on the s3. Call yourself from a different phone and leave a message then delete it from your phone.

Can't leave myself voicemail because I don't have voicemail activated.
Did try the reboot after disabling voicemail, still there.

You need to activate it and do the above, that's the only way.

Well if it's the visual voicemail notification that you're trying to make go away, then long press it in notification, and go to app info, and uncheck notifications. If it's the regular voicemail icon, I would say do the same, but looks like on stock that's tied to the phone.apk and stock doesn't seem to let you disable the notification. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think you can uncheck notifications on CM. Otherwise, yeah just setup voicemail leave a message, and then delete it.
I've tried the above method with no results? Anyone have any other ideas thanks ahead .
[edit] I've put this in the wrong spot I have an e4gt I would think the fix would be the same but I can't figure out how to delete my post sorry folks
clear phone data
on galaxy s7 edge with android 6.0 if you hold the notification until you get to "App Notification" then click on the "i" icon, once in the application info select storage. finally clear data
Root the phone and remove the app from your system......

Tmobile visual Voicemail apk fc

I can't get visual voicemail to work it just fc whenever I try to listen to my voicemail. I'm not rooted and i have the tmobile note3 all stock. I've tried reinstalling the app deleting app memory and cache and still no luck.... I've noticed that in call settings the voicemail settings section is grayed out and I can't access it, can anyone help me fix this issue or is anyone having the same problem as me?

I would say it could be a TMO problem, you may not have your voicemail enabled? Can you access VM through the traditional automated system? Also, if you want an alernative, check out YouMail in the app store. Every phone I get, I install that. It's free and you get greetings with no irritating T-Mobile automated messages.
Thanks for the reply youmail is a great alternative I'll stick with that and leave the tmobile vv alone.
