What happens when I shutdown my phone and then press instead of Volume Down + Power, Volume UP + Power? It kinda shakes 3 times and the green LED is on.
Anyone knows what happens then?
kind of reset
I went on google searching.
I found it: it is called a hard reset.
I think it's a kind of a factory reset.
I hope that his was enough ....
Hardreset is sth. different i think:
h_ttp://w_ww.hard-reset.com/htc-wildfire-hard-reset.h_tml
(delete the underlines)
Thats going over the HBootloader.
Still any idea?
I've got exactly same "feature" on my HTC Vision (the only difference is it blinks with orange led, not green )
It's probably Qualcomm chipset's "Emergency Download Mode" (i.e. restoring with software completely dead).
Needs confirmation, though.
After booting my HTC Wildfire S up using VOL UP + POWER 3 vibes and green blinking LED. After connecting to PC LED changes to red. In my dev I got ttyUSBS0. After connecting there I got message: Connection status: OK. Any idea how to use this? When my bootloader was dead this feature was still working. I think it may be used to reflash device without riffbox. Any idea how to use it?

Hi Everyone.
I resently got my best friends P3300 because he really messed it up and would not even boot up!
I got the phone to boot up, but every other application is dead, it wont even make a phone call or even connect to the PC with a usb cable.
The Cell phone shops say they cant fix it and is impossible to fix!
If any one could help me, it would be so apperiated!
try a hard reset to start.
Boot up the phone, when this is done, press red and green. Keep theme pressed and use the stylet to press the reset button (don't release red and green), once the screen changes, release the reset button (keep red and green pressed) you will get a prompt screen.
If I recall well, release the red and green and press green.
This will bring back factory settings.
edit:thanks Zecanilis I sold mine 4 months ago so...
as he shows don't press red and green but the 2 soft buttons.

Hi there!
I have got a really strange problem with my desire. Here is what happened:
I opened the market app whilst using mobile internet. The app froze on the loading screen and the phone was unresponsive.
I pulled the battery and powered on again. All seemed fine.
I opened the market again and the exact same thing happened, only this time I can't turn the phone back on.
I have tried pulling the battery. Tried plugging the phone into a charger without the battery then reinserting the battery. Tried charging the battery until the led went green, still no luck.
I had plenty of battery when this happened.
When the phone is on charge, when you press the power button, the led goes out, but the phone does not turn on.
Does anyone know what this might be? or how I can turn my phone on again?
Thanks all!
Bump, does anybody have any idea?
The only idea I have is a hard factory reset:
Try to start phone with pressed volume down and power button, navigate with volume button to "clear storage" and enter with power button.
Swyped from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Wipe dalvilks cache in recovery
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks for the ideas guys. I actually can't power on the device at all. Can't boot into recovery, can't do anything as far as I can tell.
Any other ideas?

What the hell are you doing to ur desire?
Try removing battery for a minute, then re insert it
Then press volume down and without release it, press also power button and wait 5 seconds with both pressed to see if it boots into bootloader and go into recovery too

I removed the charger before putting the battery in. I saw someone recommend it on another forum with a similar problem.
I have tried to get into recovery after leaving the battery out for 12 hours, after charging the phone until the led was green, it seems I've tried everything to get this to work but nothing.
I'm really annoyed as well because I'm 2 weeks out of warranty. It just seems so odd that a software crash could cause all this.
Anybody else got any ideas?
what happens when you press.. volume down and power.. can you see the hboot screen.. is your phone recognised in ur pc?

Absolutely nothing. Totally blank screen, no vibrate nothing. Phone is not recognised by pc. The only things that happen are the following:
When plugged into the charger the orange led comes on, and eventually turns green.
When plugged in, if I press the power button the led turns off, but nothing else happens.
I'm totally at a loss. I called HTC and am sending it in for warranty repair. They said they have extended the warranty to 2 years which is a bit of a turn up for the books, so hopefully they will fix it for free and not charge me for it
Try this:
Boot into hboot
Count (slowly) to 20
Then press the power button once
Connect the usb
Start command prompt
Type "fastboot devices"
For this to work you need to install Android SDK see here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK
If you get anything than somebody can help you. I read somewhere about this issue but I can't find it anymore.
Today I was taking some photos and the whole phone suddenly froze and shut down itself.
I tried to turn it on with the power button, power + volume down, power + volume down + volume up, power + volume up to no avail.
When I plug it into the wall charger the LED blinks orange, now already for 3 hours and continues to do so without any signs of life. I tried again all the combinations of buttons and nothing happens, the LED just blinks into infinity. No images are shown on the screen.
What could be wrong, and can I do anything to bring it back to life, or is the only option that's left to take it to the customer service?
The phone still has the original warranty and is NOT rooted or tampered with in any way, absolutely no changes made on the hardware or the software.
Thank you for your help!
My phone has suddenly died today. Unsure how much battery it had when it happened, no issues before.
I lookedat my phone and it appeared to be off but I noticed a notification light flashing. Power button didnt turn the screen on, no volume or softkey interaction either. green LED still flashing (I had just not long before had a message on whatsapp so maybe it was from this).
Whatsapp web shows phone as offline, google shows phone as offline.
Connect it to USB and the laptop notices a device as I get the noise, but doesnt show as a drive in the laptop
connect it to power, nothing comes on the screen.
Call it and it doesnt ring (noise wise or screen)
Cannot reset - power button feels soft (not clicky)
Light still flashes.....
Really stuck any help appreciated.

Could it be possible you have a power button hardware failure. Try this : keep volume down pressed. If the phone reboots the power button is pressed too without you touching it.

I did think that the power button may have failed, but noting that the notification light is on, that then suggests the phone is in a powered on state - if that is the case should it not respond to an inbound call, any of the soft buttons at the bottom etc?
Just tried holding volume down for 15 seconds, nothing.....
Was hoping to get the phone to completely power down of its own accord but I dont recall if it had 3% or 70% and dont know how long a blinking LED will keep it going for!
Hey, new user here.
I recently came across my old dead Z2. Is there any way to revive it?
If I hold the power button for half a second, it will vibrate, show the ZUK splash logo and then turn off.
If I keep holding the power button, it'll loop (vibrate --> show logo for a few seconds --> turn off).
If I plug it into my PC through USB-C, it'll do reboot over and over, similarly.
Most un-brick methods I've read involve using the notification LED to do something, but my phone doesn't show anything on the notification LED so I've tried a few times doing stuff using power button + volume-up but that doesn't work.
Power + volume down gets me into the bootloader I think. It says 'FASTBOOTMODE' in red, SECURE BOOT enabled and DEVICE STATE - locked.
